• Dave always showed up with little surprises, like a comic he thought you’d like, your favorite candy, or even a personalized playlist with songs that reminded him of both of you.

• Dave couldn’t shake the feeling that, at any moment, you’d realize he was just an average nerd and could trade him for someone more “worthy” of you. You always laughed it off, cupping his face with both hands and telling him he was perfect just the way he was.

• He made it a point to memorize your preferences, from the flavor of milkshake you liked best to the show that made you cry. Dave might be awkward, but he was incredibly observant when it came to you.

• Even though he blushed in embarrassment over the photos and captions you posted online, Dave started playing along. He’d send spontaneous selfies (usually awkward ones) just for you to post with the caption “The cutest nerd in the world 🥰.”

• Whenever you dressed up for an event or even just for a casual look, Dave always had the same reaction: wide eyes and an open mouth, followed by a “You look amazing!” He didn’t fake it at all — he was genuinely in awe of you.

• Even being the comic book and video game guy, Dave made sure to dive into the world you loved. If you were into fashion, he’d research designers and learn how to differentiate fabrics. If you liked pop music, he’d add your favorite bands to his playlist and even sing along (off-key).

• Whether it was a school performance, a competition, or any event you were part of, Dave was always in the front row. He cheered so loudly that you couldn’t help but laugh, but you knew he just wanted to support you.

• On a shopping date, he saw a guy who seemed like the “typical popular guy” flirting with you while you worked behind a counter. Dave couldn’t help but feel a little... out of place. Later, when you were alone, he admitted, a bit embarrassed: “You could have anyone, and I... I’m just me.” Your response was to kiss him deeply, murmuring between kisses: “I only want you, Dave. Always you.”

• He’d always try to convince you to watch or read something he loved. If you agreed, he’d get overly excited, explaining everything in minute detail. And when you fell in love with a show or comic he recommended, he’d boast: “I knew you’d like it. I know you better than you know yourself.”

• Dave had a side only you knew. When he felt insecure or needed a little more attention, he’d take the initiative to kiss you more passionately, pulling you close by the waist and leaving you breathless.

• On tough days, Dave didn’t always know what to say, but he was the best at just listening. He’d hold your hand or hug you while you vented, murmuring “It’s going to be okay” while softly stroking your hair.

• When you’d take him to parties or events with your friends, Dave sometimes felt a bit out of place, but he couldn’t stop smiling. Just being by your side made him feel like he was, by far, the luckiest guy in the world.

i indicate on my pinned post whether requests are open or not. as i've mentioned in my guidelines, i don't consider requests sent while the requesting period is closed.

why haven't you answered my ask for a certain request?

i'm still slowly but surely working through my inbox. sometimes, i'll time/schedule a release, which is why i may keep an ask as i consider how to execute it. i'm never intentionally unresponsive; there's just a lot of asks to work through and, again, i sometimes like to bide my time to ensure the quality of my work. there are also times where i simply do not have the inspiration for a certain request. i sometimes still keep an ask, just in case i might be inspired at a later date/time. otherwise, i make no promises on the fulfillment of any requests/prompts sent my way.

sequels to any verse is always subject to inspiration. i don't mind getting asks/comments like this, if only because it gives me some idea of what people might want to see more of! but please understand that━ for the most part━ each piece of work should be able to stand on its own, unless otherwise stated.

Ok so, I don't know if you saw that one post I wrote about the possible end game for their story (if I find it i'll link it later) but basically since the master sword is stuck at the bottom of the Great Sea (thanks to wind) they don't have time to retrieve before ganondorf comes back (he comes back wrong since the cult used another body for his soul and they didn't have key's blood for the correct ritual ) and thus chain restraints ganondorf with his chains (at this point key&chain are separated/free) and they realize they can't kill him without the master sword, so Key seals chain+ganondorf while she goes on to look for the master sword, so chain (when she unseals him+ganondorf later) can kill ganondorf with the master sword as it should be

Which means that in a gameplay wise way, the lat section of the game you play as Key on her own vs the dual character gameplay key&chain had going on the entire story, forcing key to fend for herself (she kicks ass)

So like, when I first created them, I'm saying like before I posted them here on tumblr, my OG idea was to kill off chain lmao

Like they fight without the master sword (cause botton of the great sea), but they fail, resulting in chain dying lol basically making him another fallen hero

And Key using chain's uh chains to restraint ganondorf herself and seal him off

This is Error. I added a picture of skeleton Error with my headcanons because I don't have much recent art of her for I'm currently revising my human interpretations and trying to figure out how to draw faces but I wanted y'all to see her skirt. Grian was human. Kind of in the same way that Etho was human. Or Wels was human. Or False was human. Was. As in past tense with the implication that something had been lost.

And if you were to look at him now, you would never believe it. Grian? With the ever-changing wings and too-sharp teeth? With feathers and scales and the eyes of an apex predator? How could a being like that ever have been human? It's quite simple, really.

Some thousand years ago, a deal was struck between the Queen of the Forest and a desperate mother. You see, there was a prophesy in the kingdom of a war between brothers - how one would embody light and the other dark, and how they would kill one another. The mothers first child had already been recognized as the warrior of light, and she couldn't bear to watch the King's Guard slaughter her second son. The child bore no name as she handed him to the Queen under the promise that the fae would keep her child safe.

This caught the Queen by surprise - usually they were the ones spiriting children off into the night. Instead, she was being given one as a gift? Something of the sort. And so the Queen gave the child a title; 'of the Forests Fae'. Names did have power, after all - and so by designating the child as one of her own, his soul would abide by their rules, age as a fae and wield their power to an extent.

Over time, the Queen grew fond of the not-quite-human child and bestowed upon him a name: Grian. For he smiled so brightly and carried with him the warmth of the sun.

And it was like that for quite some time. Grian living amongst the fae and the forest's inhabitants - even meeting Pearl, who would accompany him on later adventures and become a hermit herself far into the future. They would venture further and further out of the woods each time, observing mortals and life outside of the forest. Eventually the Queen gave them permission to leave - explore as far as their hearts desired - under the promise the two would keep each other safe. The two agreed, and stayed by each others side. Until Evo, of course.

The Watchers aren't angels, per-say, but they're not not angels either? You see, the god they served has been missing for a long time, and without someone to direct their energy, they've gotten a little bored. That's not to say they aren't still looking for their god, but when enlisting help they have potential candidates partake in trials that may seem random to an outsider, but are quite logical to them.

Evo was one of these trials, and most of the participants weren't even aware of what the end-goal prize would be.

Grian still isn't sure how he won, but he knew for sure he did when he stepped through the Watchers Portal and ended up among the stars instead of by his friends side. The Watchers that oversaw Evo wove eyes and magic into Grians soul, granting him their powers, but more-so granting him the responsibility of finding a lost god.

It would be centuries before he met Mumbo, and a few years after that before being invited to Hermitcraft, but that's a story for another time.

The Lesbians

Headcanon that when Trina and Mendel first met the lesbians (assuming Year of the Child wasn't their first meeting). Of course, they're being all lovey dovey with each other but don't technically mention they're a couple, assuming it was obvious. So quite a while into their visit, Trina has a moment where she realizes this and is just like "Mendel they're lesbians" (think 'Harold they're lesbians' vibes, supportive just a bit oblivious). So Mendel, surprised it took her so long to notice is just awkwardly like "... Yes- they are"

It would be funny if this was why Cordelia and Charlotte introduce themselves as 'the lesbians next door' in the events of Act 2, as a little inside joke between them :)

why is it that in my Trek fandom experience people always only talk about how Kirk and Spock are opposites??? 🙄 when this book gets it. Good first weeks of their acquaintance~ 

I’m also just gonna copy something I wrote a while ago, but never posted, since it’s related:

Kirk is very serious, no-nonsense, by the book, and in some ways cold, and holds everyone at an arm’s length.

Which is why at the beginning of the series, it’s actually Kirk who McCoy argues with directly. He’s trying to connect him to his humanity and melt some of his cold and logical demeanour. McCoy also approaches him "on the most intimate personal levels” (this is actually a quote from ST Writers’ Guide, not me lol), making sure that Kirk won’t get lost, that he won’t do something he would regret. As a human. As a person.

But obviously, McCoy knows nothing about command and command decisions. Spock does. And Spock’s thoughts and ideas are actually pretty similar to Kirk’s own. That’s why Kirk searches him out, that’s why he asks him for opinions even when he doesn’t have to because it gives him “emotional security” knowing that this logical Vulcan agrees with his chosen course of action. If Spock does, it means it’s right. Spock being his XO allows Kirk to take some things more lightly, to be more reckless, to open himself up more as a captain. (The idea that Spock calms Kirk down is so ??? to me.)

If Kirk goes too far he knows there will be two people who will stop him and catch him and bring him back to the correct path. Not just one. Both of them. That’s why every time he goes too far, it’s both Spock and McCoy who confront him. Not just one of them. (and when he dies neither is there, which is actually very poetic, and I love it worked that way, even though it wasn’t planned)

When McCoy sees that Spock’s logic has the ability to influence Kirk, and even allows him to become more open, he starts to argue with Spock and ceases to challenge Kirk, because next to the Vulcan XO, Kirk can be just a little bit more human (with a different XO, Kirk wouldn’t be able to do that. When Mitchell was still alive, Kirk had to keep his bravado and serious mask up, he wasn’t allowed to truly open up. Only the combination of McCoy and Spock at his side allowed him to do it, because McCoy, in contrast to Mitchell, also knows when to not rely on emotions because he is a surgeon and he needs to be able to turn them off in order to do his job well. And when he sees that Kirk gets too emotional, McCoy is able to bring him back. Mitchell would only encourage it.)

maybe this “I can be more human because of Spock” is also why Kirk focuses so much on “you seem quite human, we’ll make a human out of you yet, his soul was the most human” because he wants him to free himself, because he knows personally how hard it is to kill a part of himself...

This headcanon is in conjunction with @pareidolah's portrayal of Haibara. Any Haibara (or Nanami, since it's a heavy part of his backstory) I interact with in the future doesn't have to fall in line with this canon, but it's part of Utahime's canon going forward.

At the age of nineteen, Utahime was determined to prove her skill in an effort to be bumped to Grade 1 sorcerer, rather than Semi-Grade 1. She was sent as the lead on a mission with Nanami and Haibara to take care of a particularly difficult special grade cursed spirit. The Sorcerers Council insisted against it, but she was adamant.

The cursed spirit proved too much for the three of them, Utahime pushing herself too hard and spending too much of her energy without thinking in order to prove herself to a society that valued singular effort. Looking to Haibara and Nanami, and coming to the realization that she was actively putting them in danger, she jumped in front of Haibara, ready to put her life on the line to see the two of them to safety. Sacrificing others was not how she wanted to succeed.

She woke later to being carried out on a stretcher, side by side with Haibara (and a frantic Nanami running behind them), feeling like she'd just escaped death. She couldn't see past the excruciating pain in her head, but she was able to see that both boys were breathing, if covered in blood, and was able to relax as they were taken to hospital.

Utahime and Haibara spent the next few months recovering together in hospital, faces mutually bandaged. Utahime would drag herself over from her bed in order to sit next to Haibara's bedside when she should have been resting herself, overbearing in a gentle sense to help him catch up with homework and just to make sure that he was breathing, to assuage the guilt she was wracked with.
