Hi there! I'm obsessed, OBSESSED with Qiang Jin Jiu from your recommendation, would you mind recommending other novels that might filter out some of these obsession, because I don't think it's quite healthy at the current pace
Yay, glad you’re liking QJJ, isn’t it great? Cezhou really is couple goals!
I’m presuming you want Danmei? I can give you some great Baihe or BG novels too!
Well, if you want something that has a similar ratio of plot:horniness I would recommend To Rule in A Turbulent World (Luan Shi Wei Wang 乱世为王 ) by Fei Tian Ye Xiang. LSWW’s main characters are You Miao, young, insouciant, spoiled son of a rich merchant sent to the capital to make connections and Li Zhifeng, Quanrong (sex-)slave.  YM buys LZF from a friend who was about to beat LZF to death on a somewhat rebellious impulse and also because he’s kinda curious about the sex stuff. He quickly frees LZF though, because YM is not really the sex-slave having kind of person, but they do have sex before parting initially - mostly bc YM is curious about it and well, he’s already paid money - but thankfully their separation does not last long and they realise how much they mean to each other pretty quickly.
LSWW starts out as a somewhat quiet novel about maintaining and fixing your own farm, but both YM and LZF aren’t really meant to just sit back and watch history pass them by.
As they become increasingly embroiled in the happenings of the world around them, they never lose sight of each other though and just like QJJ it’s pretty much accepted without comment that YM and LZF are a unit and no one comments on it. The translation by Suika is, as always, amazing and the main story is close to being done (61/75 chapters)! So now is a great place to start imo!
Next I would rec Thousand Autumns ( Qian Qiu  千秋) by Meng Xi Shi. It is not as horny as QJJ or LSWW although I guess that could be debated, because Yan WuShi is prime DILF material, and the couple doesn’t actually get together-together until the end of the novel/the extras. I’m still reccing it though, because the plot is pretty great and I really like the world that MXS draws up in her novel.
QQ is about Shen Qiao, disgraced former leader of a righteous Daoist sect, who is defeated by a challenger from the Turkic Steppes. He falls off a cliff pretty much directly into the hands of Yan Wushi, leader of an “unorthodox” sect who just came out of a 10 year seclusion. Shen Qiao initally does not remember who he is, so Yan Wushi takes the opportunity to fool him into thinking he is SQs Master, but although Shen Qiao doesn’t remember, he’s not dumb and that ruse is dissolved pretty quickly. The main thrust of the novel is SQ now trying to make his way in the world when everyone thinks he’s disgraced himself through his defeat and has now become YWS’s boytoy for safety.
Yan Wushi however didn’t take SQ in out of the kindness of his heart, or because he wants to fool him a little but because Shen Qiao is pretty much a kind person at heart and YWS just doesn’t believe someone can be as idealistic as SQ is so he observes and maneuvers situations to find out where SQs bottom line is. He... does something that is pretty much completely despicable and unforgivable to Shen Qiao (if you want to know exactly what it is, ask me and I’ll put it in a spoiler), but SQ is able to a) save himself and b) YWS pretty much gets hit by the karma stick shortly thereafter, so despite this the way their relationship develops in the novel is not unbelievable or impossible to me.
What I really like about QQ is that Shen Qiao is around 30 (I think?) and YWS is close to 50 (doesn’t look anything like it though obviously), so they’re both adults and their characters are firm enough that they don’t change throughout the novel, they just gain a new perspective that lets them process stuff in a new way while still remaining true to their core personalities.
I’ve linked carrds with corresponding translations, so I hope you like either or at least one of the two novels that I have linked! Please let me know if you do :D
Edit: I think all the carrds feature links to the JJWXC origins of the novel and I urge anyone who reads fantranslations to go and support the authors, the novels are so cheap and chapter prices are dependent on the length, but can be discounted through numerous ways, so you can buy even novels like 2ha for like 10$.

Annals of Yanhe 1
[From WS004. Feng Hong of Northern Yan is called by his courtesy name Wentong to avoid the name of Emperor Xiaowen of Wei.]
[Yanhe 1, 17 February 432 – 5 February 433]
1st Year of Yanhe [“Extended Harmony”], Spring, 1st Month, bingwu [17 February], venerated the Foster Empress Dowager as the August Empress Dowager. Installed the August Empress, Ms. Helian. Installed imperial son Huang as August Heir-Apparent. Paid visit to the Grand Temple. A great amnesty, and changed the inaugural.
On jisi [11 March], a decree said:
We, though insignificant personally, obtained serving the Ancestral Temple, ponder revealing the vast foundation and broadly purify the nine undertakings. Coming across the last cycle, Under Heaven split apart and crumbled. Truly employing frequent campaigns, netting sometimes tranquil rest, from the Shiguang era until today, in the space of nine years, the military chariot ten times has been lifted up. The crowd of leaders, civil and martial, shouldering halberds and wearing armour, combed by wind and washed by rain, stamping shoes on spear-points and blades, equally toiled with Us.
Relying on the assistance of gods and honoured, generals and soldiers proclaimed merit. Employing the able to destroy and break the strong foot-boys, [they] overcame and annihilated the great loathsome. Troops did not do the utmost in martial ability, and the two robbers were fully wiped out. The leaders did not disobey the regulations, and the distant region so was tranquil.
Increasingly so the time's airs are harmonious and in accord, auspicious omens also come down widely in the commanderies and states, they are not possible to fully record. How are We, a single person, alone responding to this safekeeping? These are also caused by the crowd of princes' unity and cooperation. The excellencies and ministers following this examined the meetings of the various Heavenly People, and requested to establish assisting deputies.
In all cases the acts of celebrating and rewarding are the means by which to praise and venerate past deeds, the banner to display the worthy hence the blessings without limits for perpetuity. Should for Kings, Dukes, Generals and below, widely increase feudal rank and salary, unfold the state's hereditary families, restore discarded officials, lift up the capable and unconfined, get rid of and eliminate bothersome elaborations, alter and settle ordinances and regulations, and make an effort to follow light restrictions, eliminating the old and stripping off the new, so as to set right a united government.
The crowd of minsters will deeply ponder bringing about achievements, rectifying themselves on the Way of Straightness, establishing merit and establishing service, not anyone to be idle and neglectful, and declare to Us their thoughts on it.
2nd Month, bingzi [18 March], travelled to favour the Southern Palace.
3rd Month, dingwei [18 April], retroactively conferred on the Lady Ms. He to be August Empress.
On renshen [13 May], the King of Xiqin, Tuyuhun Mugui, sent off Helian Ding to the Imperial City.
Summer, 5th Month [14 June – 13 July], a great inspection of the multitudinous followers in the southern suburbs, wanting to chastise Feng Wentong.
Liu Yilong dispatched envoys to court with tribute.
6th Month, gengyin [30 July], the Chariot Drove to attack Helong. Decreed the Supervisor of the Left of the Masters of Writing, An Yuan, and others to station south of the desert, so as to prepare against the Ruanruan.
On xinmao [31 July], the Concurrent Cavalier in Regular Attendance, Deng Ying, was sent to Liu Yilong.
Autumn, 7th Month, jiwei [28 August], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Ru River.
On gengshen [29 August], dispatched the General who Calms the East, the Duke of Xuancheng, Xi Jin, to issue out the population of You province and the Dingling of Miyun, more than 10 000 people, to transport siege equipment, set out on the southern road, all together assemble at Helong.
The Emperor arrived in Liaoxi. Wentong dispatched his Attendant Imperial Clerk, Cui Pin to offer and present oxen and alcohol.
On jisi [7 September], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Helong, and overlooked its walls. Wentong's Grand Warden of Shicheng, Li Chong, Grand Warden of Jiande, Wang Rong, and more than ten commanderies came to surrender. Issued out their population, 30 000 people, to dig out encircling moats so as to defend them.
This Month [12 August – 10 September], erected the Eastern Palace.
8th Month, jiaxu [12 September], Wentong sent several ten thousand people to set out from the city and challenge to battle. The Duke of Changli, Yuan Qiu, with the Duke of Hejian, Yuan Qi, struck and routed him. The dead were more than 10 000 people. Wentong's Master of Writing, Gao Shao, led more than 10 000 families to guard Qianghu Stronghold [?].
On jimao [17 September], the Chariot Drove to chastise Shao.
On xinsi [19 September], beheaded him.
Decreed General who Pacifies the East, He Duoluo to attack Wentong's Grand Warden of Daifang, Murong Xuan, at Hou Stronghold; The Great General who Consoles the Army, the King of Yongchang, Jian, to attack Jiande; the Great General of Agile Cavalry, the King of Leping, Pi, to attack Jiyang. All took them. The people who had been captured alive were distributed and bestowed on the generals and soldiers each proportionally.
9th Month, yimao [23 October], the Chariot Drove to return west. Moved the population of Yingqiu, Chengzhou, Liaodong, Lelang, Daifang, and Xuantu commanderies, 30 000 families, to You province, and opened granaries so as to aid them.
Winter, 10th Month, guiyou [10 November], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Ru River.
Tuyuhun Mugui dispatched envoys to court with tribute.
11th Month, yisi [12 December], the Chariot Drove to arrive form the attack on Helong.
12th Month, jichou [25 January], Feng Wentong's Duke of Changle, Chong, and his mother [and?] younger brother Lang, and Lang's younger brother Miao used Liaoxi to belong to the interior. Wentong dispatched general Feng Yu to besiege Liaoxi.
Before this, commenced summoning the worthy and good, but in the provinces and commanderies there was much pressure to dispatch them. A decree said:
We eliminated the pretenders and pacified the brutal, campaigning and chastising for several years. Thinking to obtain the gallant and worthy, joining together splendour and governing the Way, for that reason decreed the provinces and commanderies to seek out and praise the hidden and unattached, to advance and lift up the worthy and capable.
The lordly masters of ancient times, nourished aspirations for a crossbeam gate, their virtue completing legacy and achievements, their talents were indulged [by?] their generation. Some of a harmonious look and elegant step, after instructed three times then they arrived. Some fussed and rushed, fearful and fretful, carrying the cauldron and then freed themselves. Though they followed [?] rather dissimilarly, they aided the times as one.
The various summoned people all will be presented the notification with courtesy, trusting them to advance or withdraw, what is there about pressuring to dispatch them! These Inspectors, wardens and stewards circulating praise [but] neglecting the purpose, how then to brilliantly increase, therefore are the means by which to make clear Our lack of virtue.
From now and afterwards, each will order the hamlets and villages to push forward and advance, the wardens and stewards are only circulate Our humble heart's thoughts of seeking the worthy. On arrival, at that time, since they are lifted up out of order, follow their talents in civil and military matters, and rely on them with government affairs. Should clarify and circulate the directive, so that all cause it to be heard and known.
This Year, Tufa Rutan's son Baozhou abandoned Juqu Mengxun and came running. Used Baozhou as Duke of Zhangye.

I was thinking about the Chinese pronoun “renjia” 人家 and how useful it is and how difficult its connotations are to translate succinctly into English.
Okay so “renjia” literally means “person-home” and here’s what it can mean:
1. me (the speaker) 2. you (the spoken to) 3. somebody else (who is there) 4. somebody else (who is not there) 5. people generally
Ok you’re probably thinking “WTF that sounds confusing as hell and the opposite of useful”? But no! It is extremely useful if you WANT to be ambiguous/coy/demure/humble and (potentially) manipulate people! (It also codes as feminine IMO within Chinese culture, YMMV.)
Let’s say I’m hanging out with my friends Anne, Bruce, Charlene, and David. David suggests going to see a zombie movie.
I reply, “Renjia doesn’t like zombie movies. Let’s see something else.”
In that context, it would mean “somebody here doesn’t like zombie movies”. I might be referring to myself, or I might be referring to someone else who is there, without actually naming them.
Maybe I’m embarrassed that I don’t like zombie movies: this way I can make my objection known without committing to it. Or, maybe I know that Bruce hates them, but is the kind of person who won’t speak up for himself and who’ll feel bad if we don’t go to something just because of him? Now I’ve covered for Bruce, AND Bruce doesn’t have to feel guilty, because I could have been talking about myself or another person in the group.
See in English if you said “somebody here doesn’t like zombie movies,” that would be odd, somebody would probably say, “who?” and it would also imply IMO that the somebody wasn’t yourself.
Anyway if you’re a person (*cough* like me) who finds it hard to speak up for yourself as yourself in groups, it’s an extremely useful social navigational tool. Some women also use renjia habitually.
It’s a sociolinguistic thing and an example of how languages adapt to cultural needs (or vice versa if you want to get all Sapir-Whorf up in here).
This is only one possible use of renjia, you could write a dang thesis on it and somebody probably has.
Edit: “Qiu, Miao-Jin (2000) Chengdaici Renjia de Yuyi ji Yuyong Yanjiu [A Semantic and Pragmatic Study of ‘Renjia’ in Mandarin Chinese], MA Thesis, National Taiwan Normal University.”

A Complete History of the Three Kingdoms Year 187
187 AD
-In the spring, in the first month on Feb 16th, there was an amnesty for the empire.
-In the second month some bandits of Rongyang killed the Luo Hao, Prefect of Zhongmou, and his Registrar Pan Yin. In the third month He Miao, the Intendant of Henan, attacked the bandits and destroyed them. He Miao was appointed General of Chariots and Cavalry.
-He Miao was from Wan County in Nanyang Commandery. He was born a poor man, but when his half-sister became Empress, he, along with He Jin, was sent to the capital.
-Han Sui killed Bian Zhang, Beigong Boyu, and Li Wenhou, took over all their forces to command more than a hundred thousand men, and went forward to besiege the headquarters of Longxi Commandery. Li Xiangru, the Grand Administrator, rebelled against the Han and made an alliance with Han Sui.
-Geng Bi, the Inspector of Liang Province, led the troops of six commanderies to attack Han Sui. Geng Bi had appointed Cheng Qiu as his Attendant Official at Headquarters, but Cheng Qiu was in league with a gang of profiteers and extortioners, and the gentlemen and the common people all hated him.
-Fu Xie, the Grand Administrator of Hanyang, said to Geng Bi:
"Commissioner, you have not had much experience in administration, and the people are not yet accustomed to you. When the rebels hear that your powerful army is approaching, they will all be united against you. Those men from the border country are excellent fighters, and it will be hard to match their attacks. On the other hand our men have only recently been gathered together, and the officers and soldiers are not yet used to one another. If there should be some trouble within our ranks it will be too late for regrets."
"The best thing to do is let the army halt a while and build up morale. Make your rewards clear and your punishments certain. When you take the pressure off the rebels like this, they are sure to say to themselves that we are afraid of them. Such evil men will certainly struggle for power, and they will soon quarrel among themselves. After that, you will be leading people who know what they are fighting for, and bringing them against an enemy who is completely disorganized. You need only sit and wait, and success will come."
Geng Bi would not accept his advice.
-In the summer, in the fourth month, Geng Bi came to Didao, and then his Aide-de-Camp led a mutiny and joined the rebels. First they killed Cheng Qiu and then they killed Geng Bi.
-Then the rebels came forward to besiege Hanyang. In the capital of Hanyang there were few soldiers and no reserves of food, but Fu Xie sill held firm.
-Fu Xie's son, Fu Gan, thirteen years old, said to his father:
"The nation is in confusion and disorder, and that is why you have never received your true deserts from the court. You have too few soldiers now to maintain your defense, and you should accept the invitation of these Qiang and other tribes people and go back to our homeland. Wait until a worthy man appears, and then join him."
-Even before he had finished speaking, Fu Xie sighed miserably and said:
"You know that I must die. A sage is equal to any position, and even a lesser man should not fail his responsibilities. Zhou of Yin was cruel and tyrannical, ye Boyi died for him because he could not eat the millet of the conquering Zhou dynasty. I have met with a time of disorder and I cannot fulfill my true ambition. I have taken his salary, so how can I seek to avoid his time of danger? Where else can I go? I must die hie! You have talent and understanding, I hope you will do your best. Yang Hui, the Master of Records, will act as my Cheng Ying."
-Wang Guo, a man of Didao, sent Huang Yan, the former Grand Administrator of Jiuquan, to say to Fu Xie:
"The empire is gone forever from the government of Han. Magistrate, would you be prepared to become our leader?"
Fu Xie put his hand to his sword and shouted at Huang Yan:
"You, an official with a seal, have become the messenger boy for a gang of rebels!"
Then he led out his soldiers in a charge, and died in the thick of the fray.
-Ma Teng of Youfufeng, who had been Major under Geng Bi, also led his troops to rebel, and he joined forces with Han Sui. The rebels then made Wang Guo their leader and plundered the Three Adjuncts.
-Because the bandits and rebels had not been pacified, the Grand Commandant Zhang Wen left office. The Minister over the Masses, Cui Lie, was made Grand Commandant. In the fifth month the Minister of Works Xu Xiang became Minister over the Masses and the Superintendent of the Imperial Household Ding Gong of Pei kingdom became Minister of Works.
-Ding Gong had been the Inspector of Jiaozhi and Administrator of Cangwu in the 180s.
-
-Before this, Zhang Wen had raise three thousand shock cavalry from Wuhuan of You Province to use them in Liang Province. The former Chancellor of Zhongshan, Zhang Chun of Yuyang, asked to be given the command, but Zhang Wen turned him down and appointed the Prefect of Zhuo, Gongsun Zan of Liaoxi.
-Gongsun Zan, styled Bogui, was a man of Lingzhi in Liaoxi. He became a Scribe Assistant Below the Gate in Lingzhi Commandery. He had an imposing appearance and great voice. Gongsun Zan was also skilled in rhetoric. Whenever he discussed matters he was not superficial, and always made several different points, never forgetting or making a mistake. The Administrator Hou was impressed with his ability, wed his daughter to him, and sent him to visit Lu Zhi of Zhuo-jun to study the classics.
-Later he became a commandery official. When Administrator Liu Ji was in trouble and summoned to visit the Minister of Justice, Gongsun Zan drove the chariot, and personally attended to him. When Liu Ji was exiled to Rinan, Gongsun Zan prepared grain and meat, and north of Ming hill offered sacrifices to his ancestors, raising the libation cup and saying:
"Previously I was a son, but now I am a servant, and will soon to to Rinan. Rinan has unhealthy air, and perhaps I may not return, so I bid farewell to my ancestors."
He again bowed and rose, and at the time of those watching there were none who did not sob. On the road, Liu Ji was pardoned and returned.
-Gongsun Zan was nomitaed Filial and Incorrupt and became a Palace Gentleman, and was sent out as Chief Clerk of Liaodong Dependent State.
-Once he went with several tens of cavalry to patrol Sai, and encountered several hundred Xianbei riders. Gongsun Zan therefore retreated to an empty precinct, and said to his following cavalry:
"Now if we do not charge through them, then we will all be killed."
Gongsun Zan then himself grasped a lance, attacked a blade on both ends, and charged and stabbed through the barbarians, killing and wounding several tens, but also losing half his riders, and so they escaped. The Xianbei were intimidated and afterward did not dare again enter Sai. For his deeds Gongsun Zan was promoted to Magistrate of Zhuo.
-When the army reached Ji territory, the Wuhuan found that none of their supplies had been issued, and many of them mutinied and went back home.
-Zhang Chun, who was annoyed that he had not been given the command, now made an alliance with Zhang Ju, a man from the same commandery, who had once been Grand Administrator of Taishan, and with Qiuliju, a chieftain of the Wuhuan. Together they raided Ji. They killed Gongqi Chou, the Colonel Protector of the Wuhuan, Liu Zheng, the Grand Administrator of Youbeiping, and Yang Zhong, the Grand Administrator of Liaodong.
-Their forces now numbered more than a hundred thousand, they set their base at Feiru, and Zhang Ju was proclaimed Emperor. Zhang Chun took the titles of General Who Governs the Universe and King of Peace and Settlement. They sent a letter to the provinces and commanderies to say that Zhang Ju was destined to succeed the Han, that the Son of Heaven should leave his palace, and that he should send his excellencies and ministers to receive the new ruler.
-Gonsun Zan took command, pursued and attacked Zhang Chun with achievements, and was promoted to Cavalry Commandant. The Dependent State Wuwan King of Tanzhi led his tribe to surrender to Gongsun Zan. Gongsun Zan was promoted to Palace Gentleman-General and given a fief as Marquis of Duting.
-In the winter, in the tenth month, the bandit Ou Xing of Changsha gave himself the title of General. He commanded an army of more than ten thousand men. An edict appointed the Gentleman-Consultant Sun Jian as Grand Administrator of Changsha. Sun Jing, Cheng Pu, Han Dang, and Zhu Zhi followed him, with Han Dang serving as a Major with a Separate Command and Zhu Zhi as Major.
-Sun Jian reached the commandery and took personal command of his officers and soldiers, issuing orders saying:
"Treat the good people carefully and mildly and keep the official documents according to regulations. Leave the robbers and killers to me!"
He devised a strategy and within the month had defeated Ou Xing and the rest.
-Zhou Chao and  Guo Shi also led their host to revolt at Lingling and Guiyang in coordination with Ou Xing. Sun Jian subsequently left his own administrative borders to find and subdue them and the three commanderies returned to usual once more.
-Around this time Sun Jian enlisted Huang Gai into his service to help defeat the bandits of the southern commanderies.
-Huang Gai was a man from Quanling in Lingling Commandery, Jing Province. Huang Gai's youth was difficult. He was orphaned when he was very young and had to cut firewood to earn money. But he was ambitious, he would learn to read or discuss military matters in his spare time. As he grew older, Huang Gai took position as a commandery official . He was nominated as Incorrupt and Filially Pious.
-About this time the Chief of Yichun county in Yuzhang Commandery, a nephew of Lu Kang, asked Sun Jian for help when he was attacked by bandits.
-Sun Jian made ready to go, but then one of his clerical officers objected: though Yichun was just over the eastern borders of Changsha, it was not only in a different commandery but also in a different province. Sun Jian replied:
"I have none of the civil graces. Warfare is my work. If I cross the borders to attack some rebels, that is simply giving help to a neighbor. Even if I am committing a crime, why should I feel ashamed?"
-Sun Jian was enfeoffed as Marquis of Wucheng for his successes.
-Sun Jian memorialized Zhu Zhi as Acting Commandant. While Han Dang shared credit with his army assistants and followers, and therefore his rank did not increase.
-In the eleventh month Cui Lie, the Grand Commandant, left office. Cao Song, the Grand Minister of Agriculture, was made Grand Commandant.
-In the twelfth month the Chuge barbarians, a clan of the Xiongnu, rebelled.
-In this year Marquisates Within the Imperial Domain were sold for the price of five million cash.
-Chen Shi, former Chief of Taiqiu, died. More than thirty thousand men came from every part of the empire to attend his funeral.
-In his own village, Chen Shi would deal with every problem calmly and equitably. If there was some dispute, people would always come to ask his judgement, he would explain who was right and who was wrong, and no one ever went away dissatisfied with his decision. People would sigh and say:
"It is better to be punished by the law than have Master Chen despise you."
-When Yang Ci and Chen Dan were appointed as excellencies and ministers, and all the officials paid them respects, they would sigh that Chen Shi was the man worthy of the highest positions, and they were ashamed to take precedence over him.

Chapter 3
A-Li wondered about in the forest. I tried my best to keep an eye for him, but because Tian Shu was around, I had to keep a distance. In the end, not only I was lost in this oh-so-familiar-forest, A-Li was lost too. “Tian Shu, Tian Shu. You are so dead. What will Ye Hua says later?” - I shake my head in disbelieve. Tian Shu was supposed to be the best bodyguard in the Nine Heavens. It’s either he’s been slacking for the past 300 years or my son seriously took my trait of getting lost easily. I shock my head again. “This is crazy” - I said to myself.
Suddenly, I heard a scream. “Help me! Someone help me!” It’s A-Li’s voice! I rushed as fast as I could to the voice. As I approached, I saw this ugly looking monster chasing after A-Li. I was so furious that I took out my Kulun fan when someone beat me to chased the beast away. I backtracked a little to make sure the monster won’t come back again. “As long as A-Li is safe” - I comfort myself. “Who is this lady?” - I wondered as I followed them back to the hut.
Back in the hut, Ye Hua rushed out with Tian Shu and Jia Yun in tow. His face showed that he was all worried but he did not say much to A-Li. Then he turned around to thank A-Li’s savior.
“Thank you for saving A-Li. How can I address you?” - Ye Hua asked her.
“I’m Princess Miao Qing, the younger sister of Water King of the Eastern Sea” - she smiled at Ye Hua. “I just happened to pass by when I heard someone calling for help” - she added with another smile.
Ye Hua thank her again and asked if she have any wish for anything to repay her kindness. I rolled my eyes. That sentence sounds oddly familiar.
“I.. I would like to.. to say by your side..” - she said shyly.
“Huh?” - Ye Hua asked, confused.
Miao Qing quicky corrected her sentence. “I would like to serve Your Highness not as a consort. Just as a maid here to clean, wash and cook for you when you come to this hut”.
“Princess Miao Qing, this is really not necessary. You are a princess. There is no need for you to be a maid here”
“Please Your Highness, just grant Miao Qing this wish..”
Knowing Ye Hua, he gave in to her request. “Ten days” - he said. “Only for ten days and you’ll have to leave” - he added.
I slump back down to my hideout. 10 days. SERIOUSLY Ye Hua? Have you NOT heard rumors going around the 4 seas and 8 realms? What have been your aid doing all these years? All of the 4 seas and 8 realms knows about how Princess Miao Qing of Eastern Sea is so in love with the Celestial Tribe Crown Prince even tho she have not met him in person before. She went around the 4 seas claiming that she will one day marry the Crown Prince.. Seems like she’s hitting the jackpot now.
As I was trying to take a nap, I heard A-Li’s shout and cries from the hut. I looked up and saw my poor son running out of the hut sobbing badly. I followed him with a distance again, since Tian Shu and Jia Yun were chasing after him. From a distance, I heard the conversation of Ye Hua’s aids.
“Why is Little Prince crying?” - asked Tian Shu, looking worried.
“Oh, have you not heard?” - Jia Yun turn around. “The Soul Searching Lamp was extinguish earlier”
“Soul Searching Lamp?” - I wondered.
Tian Shu was shocked with the news. “Who would do that? That’s His Highness’s life!”
“The lamp is Ye Hua’s life? What is he talking about?”
“I heard from the palace maid that Princess Bai Feng Qiu of Qing Qiu stole the lamp. She disgusted herself as Consort Su Jin and took the lamp from His Highness study. That’s why he went back to confront Consort Su Jin just now” - Jia Yun explained while keeping an eye on A-Li.
“And..?” - Tian Shu asked, disbelieve.
“His Highness almost killed Consort Su Jin like he did 300 years ago..” - Jia Yun’s voice trail away..
The news shocked me. Ye Hua tried to kill Su Jin 300 years ago? For what reason? As far as I can remember, Ye Hua was suppose to be so in love with Su Jin that he took me as a replacement.. What’s going on?!
