We sell the Mini Shove Knife and it works well for a variety of opening methods. Some people just need simpler and for one purpose.
The travellers Hook slips between the door and frame to pull the door catch to open the door. This can be external doors, internal, fire doors and even some windows. It's an extremely versatile tool that anyone can master. A good tip is if the lock is stiff you can slightly push/pull the door to change tension on the latch.
This is part of the new stock available in store right now and we have even more coming very soon so keep an eye out.

DAILY REMINDER:
You have the right to have feelings, even if they are part of an unwelcome reality.
allow your feelings to be and accept them as they are.
the sooner you accept this fact the sooner you will ignore the 3D
for example: My crush does not want me back; I am hurt; I am entitled to be hurt; and I have the right to cry if necessary. Once I express all of those feelings, I will be able to get back on track because I know my crush will find me without any of my efforts because it is my reality.

transcript
#bakuspecial#comic#horror#cw: child abuse#cw: body horror#ask to tag#hi! hello. this is basically just a goosebump story I think. or a scary stories to tell in the dark entry#that's kinda what I aim for? along with the good ol vibe of fuan no tane#and also the like. Thing in east asian art where they make the main character a generic white person and then#every other thing about the setting is deeply recogniseably common asian shit lmao#that's entertainment for me. this came about extremely haphazardly... its why the first two pages look nothing like#the rest of it fsdjfhdsjhf. I slammed those out at a cafe like two days ago#went into this one no plan outside of a general sense of direction#I dont think Ive ever actually designed a single character in any of the short horror comics I did. like either its me or#I made someone up as I went. genuinely didnt know what the character'd look like until I sketched em#and then I kept referencing previous panels to draw em. dont know if I recommend this method#mmmm on reread not super sure if the sound effect of the bed leaving the room is clear enough... oh well there are other comics#been writing a lot about food and places recently Ive found out. oh yeah dyou know whats funny#I watched a wayner highlight vid of the kingdom heart charity stream today (I do not know anything about kingdom heart) and realized#how much of kingdom heart (at least the first one) is about like. places.#which is like. good job baku great deep read there isn't kingdom heart literally behind a door. arent there doors all over the place.#isnt the biggest symbol from that game taht EVERYONE knows about the KEYblade. for locks on door#fskdjfhdj but yeah its just. very cool to me that that game really does have iconic recogniseable sites. like the scenes are all tied to#where they happen at. and the climactic battle happens in a black void around a door. its good#good story about leaving ur home after ur friends aren't there anymore and being changed so much by what you go through that#you can no longer call where you started at home anymore. I am being conned by the music#anyways. yeah I go sleep now. powered thru the last 4 pages of this so its done and out there. hope my bed will not do this#have a good night lads! be careful of bugs

So, I've been a bit distracted by other things and lost some momentum on this project, but I do have a google form all set up for zine submissions. Unfortunately I've hit a snag. I think I know how I want to deal with this, but it's just turned into one big stressful knot in my plans, so I'm here to check in and see how people feel about the possible solution.
Problem is, I realized at the last second that google is going to require a log-in for any form with a file submission (for security reasons, which is reasonable if inconvenient). I need a file submission question because I need images of doodles to be submitted to me so I can compile the zine. I have configured the form so I would not be able to see the email address of anyone who submits, but it would still require a gmail login to submit to the form.
I don't have an obvious alternative for filesharing that's convenient, anonymous, and doesn't require a login (because to be honest there's reasons those don't exist). What I'm thinking of doing, if it wouldn't put too many people off, is using the google form and offering anyone who doesn't have a gmail login to use the alternative option to DM me and submit through DMs or email or whatever we can work out.
Just wanted to get a temperature check on how well this solution would work for people:
Just to clarify, for all of these you would be able to have your submission appear in the zine with no name attached. Only the google form would be anonymous to me. Obviously DMing me would involve me knowing your username but you'd still have the option to be anonymous in the zine. I know DMing strangers is intimidating but I'm super chill I promise.

God, I don't remember much of what The Resident Patient is actually about but the start of it is soo sweet and domestic. There's so many interesting bits just from those first paragraphs alone.
Tumblr media
This description is so chillingly exact with what Holmes says about Moriarty later. It made me picture them both as spiders on top of a web fighting for dominance....and then I had to stop thinking about that entirely.
Tumblr media
Ohhh he doesn't care about nature does he? Hah! Reading the early cases is also great as evidence of just how much Holmes changes.
Tumblr media
Holmes you literally said this trick was showy and stupid kdhdksjsjdh. I guess it's not showy if it helps impress your hot flatmate?
Tumblr media
"Don't mind me as I stare at your eyes for long minutes and categorize every minute expression while recalling every single conversation we've ever had. Just what bros do."
Tumblr media
I think it's soooo sweet that Holmes notices Watson is bored to death and his thoughts have turned somber so he offers a stroll around the city to clear the shadows from his head. So early in the aquientance he's so thoughtful about W's PTSD. It makes me ache.
Tumblr media
Literally what is better than Holmes and Watson strolling around the city, no goal in mind but to enjoy each other's company. Completely enraptured by the other, arm in arm while the rest of the world moves around their private bubble, unaware of the wonderful thing blossoming between them?

next bit of my bg3 durge playthrough. collecting lae'zel and exploring the ruined temple!
The gang finds Lae'zel in a predicament.
Tumblr media
There are a lot of traps scattered around the area, most of them broken, but apparently not all of them: Lae'zel has gotten stuck in some sort of cage. Two tieflings are standing nearby watching her and discussing what they should do, but 'letting her out' doesn't seem to be an option they're considering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oak is so incredibly cheered to see her angry face again. She did survive after all!
"Your quarry looks dangerous, but I've handled worse. Leave it to me and get to safety," he says, putting on a suitably serious expression.
(I love the rare times that the paladin dialogue option is not just a bland goody two shoes line, like this paladin deception option. truly the paladin dialogue choices are the worst)
Oak has a brief conversation with the two tieflings, getting directions to the the nearby settlement they're currently camping at and the name of a healer there, Nettie, and then they head off.
"Enough gawking," Lae'zel growls. "Get me down."
(the first time I played I got stuck here for a minute trying to figure out how on earth to get the cage down/opened. 'shoot the part that lae'zel is standing on with an arrow' was not the most intuitive option. to me.)
Tumblr media
"But the longer we wait, the more it consumes. My people possess the cure for this infection. I must find a creche; you will join me."
"Careful," Shadowheart says. "She obviously sees your kindness as weakness. Don't let her take advantage."
His kindness? It's not even an admonishment; she's being protective of him, and he finds himself a little bit pleased and flattered.
"And what exactly is a creche...?"
"It is many things. A hatchery, a training grounds, a shelter. Githyanki protocol is clear: when infected by a ghaik tadpole, we must report to a ghustil for purification."
"All right, we'll go together. Let's find this creche."
It's the only real lead they have, and Lae'zel is nothing if not motivated to get her parasite removed.
"I'll trust your judgment," Shadowheart says, "but I won't trust hers. Not until I've gotten the measure of her."
"You've a sharp tongue, elf. Would that your mind proved its equal."
"Half-elf. I suppose the finer details are lost on a creature like you."
Shadowheart trusts his judgement, and she and Lae'zel are back at each other's throats. What more could Oak ask for.
"The horned ones mentioned a camp. One there--this Zorru--has seen githyanki. A creche must be near. We will ask this Zorru where he has seen my kin."
and Astarion once again has the best comments on companion recruitment: "I am enjoying the latest addition to our little group. Lae'zel is delightful--in a very 'look at me twice and I'll dismember you' kind of way, of course."
Their next order of business is following the tieflings' directions to their camp, but on the way they spot some interesting ruins. Large sections of an ancient building are still standing, and Oak gets the impression that it used to be a temple, although it's hard to tell much at a distance. Something about it draws his attention, and almost without thinking he detours to take a closer look.
At the ruins they run into a group of well armed scavengers who are staking a claim to both that site and the crashed nautiloid ship. Oak could just apologize and back off, but...he wants to see the temple. He convinces the scavengers that there are live mind flayers at the crash site and that they better run for it while they can. And with that, they have the place to themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gale and Shadowheart are clearly curious about the place as well, which is lucky for Oak, because he doesn't know how to explain the odd pull he feels to explore it. The group drifts apart, Gale and Shadowheart speculating on the era of the architecture and which god it might have been built for, Astarion wandering off into the lower area where Oak can't see him, and Lae'zel impatiently grumbling about time wasted while she keeps an eye in the direction the scavengers left.
Oak finds a large crack in the old stone floor. There's no dirt in it, no plants growing through. He kneels down and puts an eye to it. His darkvision is limited, but there's definitely some kind of room down there. Unnoticed by the others, he climbs up onto the wall overlooking the cracked floor, and manages to leverage a large piece of masonry off the crumbling edge. The resounding crack of breaking stone brings everyone's attention sharply back to him.
In response to the chorus of 'what are you doings', he points to the room down below. This is not an entirely satisfactory answer, so he elaborates that the scavengers might have had the right idea about the ruins containing something valuable, and besides, it would be a great sheltered spot to camp in if they turn out to be unwelcome at the tieflings' camp. And really, how long can it take to have just a little look around?
He knows there's something important down there, but he doesn't even understand the odd hunch himself and he thinks he'd sound crazy if he tried to explain it.
They carefully lower themselves down into the room below... startling a group of scavengers who were already exploring underground and were presumably also drawn to investigate the noise. Before Oak has a chance to try talking his way out of the problem, they attack.
The room Oak and company occupy is small and cluttered with debris. The scavengers are in the hall beyond, blocking the doorway, and the sunlight from the hole in the ceiling only serves to cast everything beyond it into even greater darkness. Then one of the scavengers throws something incendiary through the doorway, and Oak's group are in a mad scramble to get out of the room. Oak slams the man blocking the doorway back a few steps, grappling with him to keep the exit clear for the others. Then someone else comes at him, swings at his head before he can react, and his vision's blacking out as he crumples to the floor.
He comes to a moment later with Shadowheart kneeling over him.
"Easy," she cautions with a hand on his chest, and he waits for the energy of her healing magic to fade as he tries to reorient himself. It's quiet. The others are all standing around him. It's clearly been more than a moment.
"Good to have you back with us," she says, offering him a hand up.
It's beginning to sink in that he was uselessly unconscious while the others fought for their lives. It's beginning to sink in that they protected him, and he would have died if they hadn't. He's been preoccupied with how to get them to trust him--to rely on him--but only now does he consider the strange possibility that he might already be able to rely on them, even hardly knowing them. It's oddly uncomfortable and reassuring at the same time.
"Next time, leave breaking and entering to the experts," Astarion says. "There was a door, you know, and it's not that difficult to force a lock." His words are light and mocking, but Oak can hear the real anger beneath them. It was a stupid risk that Oak took and it landed them in trouble.
"Not my finest moment, I know," he says grimly, gingerly feeling his head for any lingering sign of injury.
"You weren't wrong about it being a lucrative site to scavenge, though," Gale says dryly, nodding towards the discarded bag of one of the scavengers with ancient coins and silver dishes spilling out of it.
Taking a moment to look around and assess the space, Oak can see that it's part of a large complex with rooms branching off in multiple directions.
"Since we're already here..."
And luckily for him, he's fallen in with a curious company. They have to take a look around before they leave.

Dee's the writer and director... stepping into the leader position she naturally gravitates towards... she's casting the roles. She cast wrong in dee day, but this will change.
She always wanted the lead role before, which got in-between mac and dennis, but if she steps back (behind the scenes), she won't be their buffer anymore and then...
I rewatched aluminum monster vs fatty magoo and noticed how bad mac is at being controlling and manipulative (he follows exactly what frank says, doing things that he's still trying to apply to this day, like announcing dennis' announcement), how dennis can only ever see himself as filling the role perfectly, and how dee naturally stages a strike and everyone listens to her.
I also rewatched gets held hostage and noticed how it heavily features frank's will and how his gun saves the day, both elements that are coming back in tandem in ep2 of s16... and hostage is a very interesting ep in analyzing the group dynamics and how they interact with each or betray each other. It's also like... its talk of stockholm syndrome, because due to dee's monologue I feel like "why are you doing this to me?" will be a theme, in s16. Because it's like... well ok, no only is it also in gets whacked p2, but it implies that you fell in love with the other person because they did something to you...
look, I'm being rambly (as usual), but what I'm saying is that I feel like s16 will pull a lot from s3 specifically... I guess we will see more clearly when it airs, but I wanted to put it out there. It's not just THAT season tho there's like, season 9 too. and 14.

Omg I just spent like 2 entire days trying to figure out how to access my shop again after it wouldn't let me just re-install it in my webspace because of changed php requirements. My old version store requires an outdated php version which my provider doesn't support anymore. How it even worked up until May is beyond me, but I digress.
So! Made it work finally by installing older versions of everything locally on my pc (also on Linux, I honestly applaud myself for that feat XD).
Now. Since I can't just go back to the older version because of the php problem, the question is how to go about getting all the info from my old shop into the new version. The issue is that the databases aren't compatible anymore either 🙄 So do I transfer everything manually via good ol' copypasta (takes ages, but shouldn't cause any issues) ooor do I try to upgrade the locally installed shop gradually to the new version and then transfer everything to the live shop (could be quicker, but the risk of breaking all sorts of things is pretty high tbh... Prestashop is not for the faint of heart (but it's free so I chose it anyway)). Decisions, decisions...

Wistfully thinks of Spellwind, I should make a headcanons up to ep 31 list its just my equivalent of like Skyrim or lotr where theres so much going on and so dense but god damn one of my favorite episodes was when two of my favorite characters became trees and the entire experience was like...they were tripping on shrooms but also one with the shrooms? Its like episode 8
and I love the dms orc captain that hates going on land and is there for the in between transportation from sea to sea land to land ferryman (not really I feel like its mostly hard to narrate and have a character at the same time) I just love captain buttocks' (yeah I'm pretty sure thats his name) humor and how him and djett ('jet') were closer in the beginning
I love ty and varsha together but I also ship smith with them as time went on, I can't tell who I want to joke as the third smith and varsha are friends to lovers, ty and varsha are irritated assholes to lovers, smith is just a jaded old fuck that loves his morons (he respects varsha a lot and thinks ty is an entertaining idiot)
Varsha and Djett are siblings they love each other like family and share different spells and potions and knowledge of interest notes
I feel like the only person really thinking too deeply about this tabletop story and wanted to drop a few lines of appreciation, I like listening to it to go to sleep since its so slow paced and gently spoken and the music and sound efx is so sweet
#spellwind#ttrpg#table story#homebrews are my favorite of genre of story telling right now#its what got me into midnight burger#Spotify knew what kinda creative storytelling I liked and said#pbbt here you go guy you need to listen to more audiodramas without the dice in the mix#the way podcasts can tell stories is so cool#dice rolling#describing everything thats going on in a natural dialogue so that it paints a picture for the person listening as if theyre part of it#like youre in the environment with them it was a really smart way to carve a story and narrative#wolf 359#wolf 395#idk off the top of my head I'm trying out a few episodes but I like how its a blend of that similar storytelling method but like also??#log entries and some conversation between characters which is mostly how midnight burger does it#aaaa I just love audiodramas#and tabletop actual plays#I want so badly to do ttrpgs but this is my live vicarious through the media I consume era until I can find ppl that wanna let me take try#and be a DM#I could totally make engaging stories like the things I listen to#its like execution of the stories that go on inside my head the tones the themes I wanna touch on the emotions I want to convey#at the same time theres a small part of me thats like mehh but they did it already but I can still share that vibe for people that either#have or haven't chewed up the same things I love over and over and over like a maniac#plus I still have my own take and taste and ideas its just a time and place thing#I have a trillion ideas written out I just have to sort them out and do some stitchwork on the canvas that is the blank page#embroidery on those sweet words and patchwork a story ive been brewing in mind#this is slightly a personal ramble about story making#and also a segway into a sideblog thats not 100% midnight burger#I wonder how this blog will evolve over time
