Ohhhh random queer-adjacent high school coming-of-age story I found in my local thrift store for 99¢ … 😭 I can’t believe how quickly I DEVOURED this book despite being so busy this week omfg. I bought it on TUESDAY and I haven’t finished like a full real book outside of school in YEARS. But now I have a (very small) shelf full of thrift store books and more coming in the mail :3 yayyyy

Reading a book I got at the thrift store yesterday, and the words “silky butterfly kimono” are spread out across two lines so there’s a hyphen like “but-terfly” and I guess I must’ve skimmed over the hyphen bc I thought it said “silky but terfly.” Like terfly is some kind of adjective meaning “with a manner suggestive of a TERF” and somehow not typically silky (because it is silky BUT terfly, not silky AND terfly) 😭 Awful AND baffling, since this book is from the 00s and the character who owns the kimono is a gay crossdresser
