Final manifestations for Book 7?

I'm trying REALLY hard not to build up any solid expectations, because I wanna go in ~fresh~! they're already so far away from anything I thought would happen (not in a bad way, I'm just accepting that I'm on Miss Yana's Wild Ride at this point and we're seeing this thing through 'til the end, by gum). so it's nothing too major, but:

they've been handing new crying expressions out like candy lately, I want to see some delicious Malleus tears.

honestly I want everyone to cry buckets. their tears sustain me. the more Silver angst specifically I get the happier I am.

I'm 100% expecting Grim's arc (and probably whatever's going on with Crowley) to be its own episode, but a nice hook to leave us hanging on would be good!

this is all just a very dramatic way of saying that grown men decided to play a game of, “oh you’re a fan? prove it” only to have their asses handed to them by their opponent.

it is really funny to watch etho steal all of bdubs' jokes while playing hungry hermits. saying "first.... let's make a call" in bdubs' exact cadence. then wailing "WE'RE DEAD" as soon as they get a difficult order. i've never felt more of a kindred spirit to him

BY THE WAY, Hugo The Dog pulled out a nightmare scenario on me and ate an entire half-loaf of homemade raisin bread, which had an EXTREMELY HIGH RATIO OF RAISINS, and for the first time ever I had the experience of inducing vomiting for a dog at home. At like midnight. HE TRIED TO DIE.

this is the face of a dog who tried to fuckin kill himself. he wagged his tail while I forcefed him hydrogen peroxide.

So it was established in the last episode that Taylor still believes in Santa (tbh I wouldn't be surprised if it's come up prior to this ep too but anyways-) so... Do you think (saint) Nicky been has portalling in every year since the betrayal to sneak in a gift for his son amongst the pile? That Cassandra doesn't even notice because it's just one among the many many presents she herself has bought and wrapped? But every year without fail... Taylor gets one gift that simply says "from: Nick" and well, obviously that has to mean it's from Santa (a conclusion which Nicky expects him to come to, and why he can sign his name at all, though he misses when he could just write "dad"). And one year when he's still quite young, a sleepy little Taylor actually catches Nicky in the act, and Nicky wishes more than anything that he could just *stay*, but instead he only softly tells Taylor to go back to bed, and Taylor thinks that Santa is a lot younger and a bit sadder than he expected, but what's he gonna do- not listen to Santa Claus? So he smiles meekly at the man he does not know to be his father, and hurriedly heads back to his room.

Also yes of course Nicky eats the fucking cookies left out of course he's not gonna pass up on free cookies (which are home-baked to top it off) come on that's a given.

"The donations would already be more than helpful enough, but we could perhaps take some advantage of your magical abilities, if you'd be willing to write up some ideas tonight."

Beyond the line of the Cookie Kingdom's borders lay the Roll Cake Forest, where a couple cookies will venture out for various reasons. A large quantity of the inhabitants of the kingdom will go out to forage, to hunt or to simply explore; although most do it for fun theres one who finds themselves needing to do these activities to stay alive each day, one who does not feel themselves safe enough to ask the locals for assistance in daily necessities. But on one particular day it seems the branches and bushes gain a new aroma, and the rewards of their scavenging efforts yield more fruitful than ever before, seemingly for as many days as they need. One could assume that perhaps it was the blessing of a miracle, or maybe it was the consequences of someone's actions; but when starving for days and an obsession too strong, there is no option but to accept the graciousness.

In other news, some cookies who were struggling with some sort of survivors guilt or extreme anxiety also got some methods to get their hands on food without feeling awful, yay.

hello, do you have any resources/books about the role of michigan/fort detroit in the war of 1812? thanks so much!!

Thank you for sending me this ask, and sorry I have been sitting on it for several days as I have searched for better resources!

Even though my interest in the War of 1812 has decidedly taken a turn for the Old Northwest frontier, which includes Michigan, I feel like all of the books I have on the subject are heavily focused on the Kentucky troops who made up most of the Americans at the Battles of Frenchtown and the Battle of the Thames. I'm currently reading The War of 1812 in the West: From Fort Detroit to New Orleans by David Kirkpatrick, and I love it, but it is deeply Kentucky fried and maybe not enough Michigan-focused content for what you are seeking?

It is genuinely weird how few books are focused on Michigan in the War of 1812, especially in light of all the "[State] in the War of 1812" books out there. (I can't believe Illinois has a War of 1812 book.) One that looks very promising, although I haven't read it, is Invaded on All Sides: The War of 1812 and Michigan's greatest battlefield engagements at Frenchtown and the River Raisin by Ralph Naveaux. Naveaux is a Michigan-based historian, and the blurbs praising his book are names I know and respect.

For a general history of the War of 1812 my recommendation is The Civil War of 1812: American Citizens, British Subjects, Irish Rebels, & Indian Allies by Alan Taylor, especially because Taylor is focused on border regions with shifting and complicated alliances (which definitely includes the Michigan territory at this time).
