Mini Compass Basics

Orientating the Map

Place the rotatable ring so the 'N' point is on the index mark. Place the compass on the map so one edge of the baseplate matches the edge of the map. Turn the copass and map together until the north arrow exactly matches the 'N' mark on the map.

Field to map orienting

Take a bearing on a landmark. Transfer that bearing angle to the orientated map. Put the compass on the map with one long edge making contact with your present location on the map. Pivot baseplate over that present location until green north arrow lines up with N mark on rotation ring. The long edge is now pointing to your landmark

Map to field Orienting

Orient the map first.

Position the long edge of the baseplate along an imaginary line between your present location and destination. Direction of travel arrow must point toward destination. Turn rotational ring until 'N' mark aligns with the green north arrow. Now read your course ring at the index mark. Remove compass from map and hold so 'N' mark aligns with green north arrow. Direction of travel arrow now points to your desired location.

Hellp me geardos of gunblr

Ive got a plate carrier. It's not slick so i wanna set it up as a basic home defense rig and training set up for popular ranges/training classes. Dont expect to use this in a end of the world set up. More as a shelter in place or from A to B.

Need a way to carry the obvious ammo (rifle/pistol) and medical. It's got the swift clip system so i can use chest rigs but im not sure if i should go with a rig like Spritus/HSP or just buy a bunch of specific pouches.

If i buy specific pouches then down the road as i train in the PC and find out what works and what doesn't ill end up spending more money on new pouches while if i go with a detachable chest rig i can go with one and done. Both will initially cost the same pretty much.

What say y'all?

Walk through of my ruck. Thoughts? It's more set up to be overnight plus and it's own full refit and usually has nalgene shoved in it. The holster just gets hooked into the elastic pouch and makes the entire thing a mess: it's hard to draw from and takes up a lot of room and I don't have any solutions to it on a budget of zero with barely any stuff to make it myself. Thoughts on ideal carry in this bag on the inside? It has external webbing but showing it off isn't what I want to do, but I need to streamline it.

Travellers Hook Flat Edition

We sell the Mini Shove Knife and it works well for a variety of opening methods. Some people just need simpler and for one purpose.

The travellers Hook slips between the door and frame to pull the door catch to open the door. This can be external doors, internal, fire doors and even some windows. It's an extremely versatile tool that anyone can master. A good tip is if the lock is stiff you can slightly push/pull the door to change tension on the latch.

Waterproof Paper Pack

When it comes to critical information you need to protect it. In the written form, radio frequencies, GPS locations, bearings, descriptions, OTG maps, building layouts, people timings/movements all need to be protected. The simplest method to that is waterproof paper. If its important enough to write down its important enough to protect it.

You can clip these sheets to your kneeboard, (Available In Store) notepad or other writing method and know the critical information is safe on the waterproof paper no matter what the operation or climate offers you.

You can write with anything from Space Pen to Frixion pen, standard biro, pencil and even a China pencil.

Once you start to use paper this way, you refuse anything else
