I once went out onto the river bank when I was little.
The wind was mighty strong. Every so often my feet would lift and I'd fly.
It was just like swimming, only not at all. It made me feel so alive.

Birch I would absolutely cry to see prompt number 29 "Don't you dare wake them up." with none other than Mr Levi Ackerman 🙏
(I hope I did this right 😭😭)
Depletion
Levi Ackerman x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: The mission was supposed to be easy. Ride in, scout for a new camp set up, ride out. Except you weren't making it out.
Word Count: 0.67K
Warnings: slight angst due to injury
A/N: DUCKY I AM SO SORRY IT'S TAKEN ME FOREVER TO GET TO THIS. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT EVEN THO IT'S BEEN FOREVER! -Birch<3
29. "Don't you dare wake her up." (I changed this to she/her pronouns!)
Tumblr media
Searing, hot pain ripped through your arm as you stared up into what you could only describe as your worst nightmare. The titan, only 7 meters tall, had appeared out of thin air.
You'd be so focused on surveying the clearing for a camp set-up that you hadn't heard the beast lumber up on you. A scream rips from your throat, raw and unfiltered as the titan pinches your arm harder, lifting you higher into the sky.
Your squad was nowhere to be seen, likely out of earshot and focused on their own tasks. Feebly, you kick your legs forward and then backward, trying to get momentum and get the titan to release you.
Your blades had fallen just mere moments before, leaving you weaponless against the beast. Another cry of "help" leaves your lips, but with blood roaring in your ears, you can't hear the sound of another scout whizzing toward you.
The hot breath of the titan and the burning grasp on your arm is the only thing you can think about until you feel cool air rushing around you. Your mouth falls open in a silent cry as the pressure releases from your arm, but the pain intensifies tenfold.
Panic sets in as you free fall, just another second and you'll be splattered on the ground. But just then, a hard body collides with yours, swooping in underneath your body.
You can make out the sounds of the air getting pushed out of the scout's lungs as their feet skid across the grass and dirt, their arms wrapped around your body as they cradle you.
Another cry falls from your lips as your arm gets crunched underneath you and the scout, who rolls and tumbles to a stop. It takes you a moment to gather your bearings, eyes blurry with tears from pain or wind, you don't know.
A hand appears in front of your fuzzy vision, and you go to move your arm but hiss when you feel pain. Instead, you blink a few times to clear your sight and you are met with the hardened yet concerned face of Levi Ackerman.
No matter how many times you blink, the edges of your vision get blurry and darker. Before you know it, your hearing gets quiet and everything fades into darkness.
---
Thump, thump, thump.
Damn, my head hurts, you think to yourself as you hear hushed voices and feet scraping across the floor. I must still be alive, somehow.
The thought isn't too reassuring when a dull ache resonates in your arm. A soft grunt escapes you as your face pulls into a scowl, eyes still clamped shut.
"Watch what you're doing, idiot," the snarl came quietly from across the room, "Don't you dare wake her up." It takes you a moment, but you will your eyes to open, and you're once again met with the concerned eyes of Levi.
"Hey," you manage to croak out, voice scratchy and hoarse from sleep. Levi frowns at whoever is across the room and grumbles, "Look what you did, moron."
He turns his attention back to you, and the annoyance flips back into concern, his silver gaze softening when he locks eyes with you. "Hey," he whispers back to you, shifting in his seat to reach up and grab the hand from your uninjured arm.
"You gave me quite the scare back there," he murmurs quietly, his eyes flicking down to your intertwined hands. You muster up the strength to squeeze his hand and manage, "But I'm still here, thanks to you."
Levi nods once, a distant look in his eye before he states, "That beast did a number to your arm, but the doctors worked quick. You should still have full function once it heals."
You mouth a silent "thank you" to him as your eyes begin to flutter closed, exhaustion creeping back up on you. "Get some rest, I'll be here when you wake up", he responds, and those are the final words you hear before slipping back into sleep.

SKS Mate: Chapter 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Angst, Misogyny, Anxiety, Trauma
Chris was told many moons ago that he and his pack would be mated to an omega. A single omega. Chris had heard all the stories about female omegas and how important they were to a pack. How an omega would care for and fulfil the needs of the other werewolves. How an omega would bear the Head Alpha's children. Chris even read the stories and the old lore of Omegas being incredibly submissive and virtuous. They were the purest wolves up until the revolt against alphas and betas. Chris, of course, had an old-fashioned stereotype of how omegas should be which filled his expectations. He imagined his omega would be an innocent, submissive omega. A sweet-scented omega who he could ruin and make feral. He imagined his omega sitting on his lap purring away as he sorted out his files. He would even imagine his omega soothing his pack members when they were angry and frustrated. Chris has had all of these expectations for years, and he yearned to find her. He even sent Changbin and Jisung to search certain areas of werewolf lands to find his omega but they always came back with nothing. There were times Chris started to doubt what he had heard and that he would never be gifted a mate so he should settle for finding any old omega, but he just couldn't.
The minute Chris gave up on finding his mate was the day she crossed his land. Her strong bloodied and burnt woodsy amber scent engulfed the noses of the two betas who were scouting the area. The two males had not expected an omegas scent to knock them back for six. It confused the two of them, that they both impulsively went to find out who they was. What they didn't know until they were 5 meters away from her was that she was their mate. It was only when they got close enough to get that one of them skidded on all fours in confusion. The beta's wolf chanting mate, mate repeatedly sent the young beta into panic, causing him to alert their head alpha. The two males continued to follow the bloodied brunette omega through the forest. The younger one of the two tried to call out for her trying to show her they were not a threat, but she didn't seem to hear them. The closer the two got they saw her battered and bruised body, scattered in werewolf bite marks. It was clear to the two of them that their alpha's omega had been abused by another werewolf pack. They needed to tread carefully with her.
When they eventually reached her they both crouched down in front of her, trying to release calming waves that didn't seem to reach her. The two men looked at each other worriedly before paying attention to her fragile frightened face. They could barely see her features as he dark brown hair covered her red puffy face. "Hey, it's okay." The older one whispered out, slowly stalking towards her but she growled and bolted to their left. The two wolves huffed in frustration. They were so close to getting her. If they let her go their alpha was going to rein all of their necks in and send them down to the Alpha of Torture and no one would willingly want that. The two of them decided to run either side of her to see if they close in on her. They knew they would have to catch her forcefully as she wasn't going to back down. In the end, the older one managed to close the gap between them and pounce on her, forcing her to the ground. The younger female growled, scratching and whining at the attacker in fear. Again, the male tried to send waves of calmness towards her but she wasn't responding. He wondered if it was due to all those bite marks up her body that rejected his gift. "Shhh. It's okay. You're safe." The older male whispered repeatedly as the younger female wolf cried. Luckily for him, she eventually gave up but the male wolf still didn't trust her from running so he kept her pinned down until their pack Alpha arrived.
When Chris heard Jisung's howl he dropped everything that he was doing and ran out of the house. It was only when Chris reached the small bridge that a wave of emotions hit him. Mate. Mate. Omega is here. Omega is here. Every negative emotion Chris felt about not having an omega disappeared from his body in return replacing him with anxiety and excitement. Chris shook his head and jogged over to where Jisung and Changbin's scent was. "Chan. Is it really her? Is she ours?" Changbin whispered in fear that he was wrong and had just assaulted another werewolf pack's mate. The main alpha, Chris, looked down at her small form under Changbin and growled protectively. He didn't like the way his pack member had her pinned underneath him. It riled him and his wolf up. Changbin seemed to realise and slowly got off of her to let his alpha get a good look at her. Chris studied her pale mudied body and glared down at her tainted abused skin. They were covered in different male bite marks, symbolising her impurity and struggles. Chris felt his blood run cold as he looked at his mate with slight disappointment. Everything he dreamed of was crushed in an instant. Everything he wished for, the opposite came true. "Chan Hyung?" Jisung called out, causing the alpha to snap his head up. Chris looked at the two males before crouching down towards his mate, edging slowly towards her.
The closer he got the more the younger female growled out at him. Chris could smell the acidy stench of fear that was radiating off of her. Chris could see the way she was hiding herself she was petrified. "Omega." He whispered out. He slowly reached towards her head to brush away her matted hair from her face. "Omega, you're okay," Chris whispered out as he tried to urge the scared wolf to lift her head. He wanted to see her. "She's so scared," Jisung whined out as he held his hands out in front of himself. "What have they done to her hyung? Our poor omega." "I know Jisung." Chris breathed out sadly as he plopped to the floor. "We need to get her back to the house. She's not safe out here." The female wolf slowly peered her head around the male wolf's forearm to look at the head alpha, causing the males to freeze. Her eyes were a cold grey stone colour. They held so many emotions in them, but also none at all. Her eyes on Chris were mesmerising, he had never seen eyes the colour of ash. "Omega." Chris breathed out, causing her to growl, so he changed his approach. "My name is Chan. I'm the leader-" "I. Know. Who. You. Are." The female wolf growled out. Her voice was laced with anger. "I won't hurt you. My pack won't either. I would never allow it." Chris whispered, before looking at Changbin to get off of her.
Changbin slowly sat up and crossed his legs with a soft smile on his face as he watched her eye them. She was staring at each of them. Taking them in. The younger one, Jisung, was still standing behind the two males with his arms by his side awkwardly. Y/N studied his puffy round angelic face. He seemed absolutely bamboozled about the scene unfolding in front of him. Y/N then glanced over to her attacker, Changbin who gave her a grin, causing her to growl. Y/N then looked over to their head alpha. Christopher Chahn Bahng. The alpha who raided seven werewolf packs in one year to find an omega. The alpha who murdered his younger brother to become alpha. Everyone knew who he was. "Omega," Chris whispered gently, but she growled at him, her eyes turning a bright blueish colour. If this were anyone else they would be forced to submit. Chris' patience was wearing thin and he was trying to be patient but this poor omega wasn't budging. "What's your name?" Jisung asked, trying a different approach. He wondered if she didn't like to be called 'omega'. "What will you do to me?" Y/N breathed out. "Check your wounds. Keep you safe. Feed you. Love you." Jisung answered honestly as he looked towards Chris who nodded thankfully at the beta who was trying to ease the situation. "Jisung is right. My pack will care for you. I will protect you, always. I will not hurt you. You are my mate-" "No, I'm not." Y/N interrupted Chris. "I've heard that before. I can't be yours if I'm theirs."
Chris frowned at her words. Who told her she belonged to them? He couldn't believe his ears. "You are. You may not believe me right now, but you are. My pack and I have waited for you for so long." Chris stated. Almost pleading with her. "Please let me take you back with me. Let me have my beta, Felix, check over your wounds." Y/N looked back at the other two betas and made a decision. She had to go with them. She was an alone omega in a world that would kill and trade for one. She may not be safer with Straykids but it was better than them. "No one touches me," Y/N growled out, glaring at the head alpha who was staring at her with a frustrated expression. "Only I and Felix. To check your wounds." Chris clenched his teeth in frustration at his own words, but he had to find a way to get you to trust him. To trust them. He might be ruthless but he wasn't forceful in that way, but he could be if pushed that way.

Taken. ( Noa x Human!Reader ) Part Twelve.
*sobbing into my breaksticks*
Tumblr media
Title: Taken. Fandom: ( Kingdom of the ) Planet of the Apes. Rating: T. ( Sexual implications, injury, mentions of blood. ) Pairing: Noa x Human!Reader. Words: 8.1K ( ha ha I'm in danger ) Summary: You had accepted that you were going to die. The future was such a stingy thing, even now as it flashed in front of you like a thousand lives were being lived at once. Noa was never going to know. Never going to see what you saw. And for that, you were so sorry.
READ THE SERIES HERE.
●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・●・○・
Death was not something that you admittedly confessed to your conscious mind about often, one of those innate fears that seemed to be festering in every being on the green Earth, but only a few who were daring really thought about it on a day to day basis. It happened to all living things, you thought to yourself and pressed your forehead against the heated ground below you skull to kiss whatever was left for you goodbye. There was no point anymore, the mind was willing to give itself up in an effort to save some semblance of who you were, who you were going to become at the end of the day.
Nothing, your eyes squeezed shut. You were to become nothing. Another score on the card of the sky, another tender moment that flashed before someone else’s entire vision, encasing to the outer edges of their peripheral, there one minute and gone the next even though you wanted to stay longer, just to make sure they knew what happened to you. Puffing out air hurt as you did just that, the dirt dancing from the ground below and chapping itself against your lips. With what moisture, you were unsure. The flames were taking that, too along with the sweep of the entire Eagle Clan. At--- At least they appeared to get out, there was an utterance in the back of your mind you had been tugging to ignore since you fell to your knees and then to your stomach. Cautious fear tore through you, not quite willing to let yourself be burned alive as was evident by the skid marks on the ashen laid ground below as you had managed to grasp yourself but less than a meter were the inevitable was coming for you. Maybe… Your lips parted and it appeared like you were physically kissing the ground where the young Master of the Birds had previously been, sensing the drip of iron against your tongue which you were unable to deduce as being your own, or his, this was meant to happen. When… He had accepted you into the Eagle Clan, pre-destined to be the star to help consume it all but then take it all away in an instant of self-gratification as you sacrificed your entire life force for the count of many others.
Not that it mattered, there was bitterness rising along the crown of your forehead as the blood began to seep from there, down the curve of your forehead, captivating in a dance with your eyebrows before it leaked into your eyes and you were forced to hold them shut as to not cry your own agony to the Earth.
She… She had seen enough today, fighting that tore at her flesh like yours had been, crying as the ash sunk into the dirt below and became one with something it was not meant to be, like you had wished, blood pouring into the torrents of browned and gunked soot that smeared along your face as you cried to vast cradle of empathy for the ground where you laid; riding along your senses as your fingers pressed themselves into the dirt once more, your fingernails unable to carry anymore underneath them and the numb tingling of your hands driving you insane as you were unable to tell what you were holding onto, if anything at all. You just wanted him safe; your eyes managing themselves to look towards the forest of where Soona had carried your cherished heart, having torn it right out of the warmth and security of the ribcage it pounded so heavily against when you were in his presence, even in the instant that you had pulled his heavy, dead-weight over and then atop you like a shield of protection. With him, ran your will to live any longer. With Noa, leaving the notch in your chest vacant and empty. Soona would care for him as she always did. Care for Noa and Anaya… Your irises blacked and you dropped your eyelids, not even enjoying the shutter of your eyelashes against the toppened height of your cheekbones.
You--- Releasing another shot of air onto the ground, you felt a shutter trail its way down your spine as you released a gut-wrenching cry that mimicked the sound of Eagle Sun crying above you. Not able to turn your head towards the Heavens, you made the safe bet that you were imagining things, that your racing brain was trying to remember the smaller details about your life before you were gone. One more flash, it told you on your eyelids as you stared into the pitch black, now swirling with stars. One more good look at everything you have done in your life, everything…
Sobbing, you knew your shoulders were moving but you were unable to detect the motion as you willed your arm to lift to the right side of your body and into the bowels of your tactical pants, so warm and flooded with your own being, gushing at the sight of your mangled calves as blood smeared and poured out of you without care, your fingers couldn’t tell if you were brushing against the blue feather that you carried with you, the last piece of him you were ever going to have or if it was flushing against the cotton base of your pants themselves.
Like you ever did leave the feather to its own devices, you wanted to retort to yourself in sarcasm but even that was lost to yourself in the muddled mess of the possibility that it was even obtainable to you. The day Noa gave it to you became the day you said goodbye for the first time.
There was nothing else for you to feel here, eyes opening into slimmed slits as you cried a weakened ‘help’, coarse, your throat was too dry to even make anymore please and your whimpers began falling to the crackling of the destruction of the village behind you, a wave of embers running along the side of your body and singing off the small hairs that were exposed to the air as the Eagle Enclosure finally brought itself down under the heavy weight of expectations. The cracking of the foundation was felt against your chest, deep in the ground.
You wanted to give it… one more fleeting attempt… Something… Anything to get yourself to move forward, to… To… Live to see everything you were meant to be instead of a marauder for a Clan of which became a piece of you. Anaya, his smile and jokes, never taking himself too seriously as he showed you the collection of Echo items that he had scavenged, your fingers tickling against the delicate nature of what appeared to be a very, very old stuffed animal. Soona, her fingers brushing through your hair on the evenings after dinner as she talked to you softly about the Eagle Clan itself, even taking in some gossip she had heard and managed to pry out of---
The hand you had tugged into your pocket, seemingly stuck in the tight space, stiffened as you brushed the lightest edge of the feather he had given you months and months ago. Noa… He--- There was the feeling inside of you that he was alive, somewhere out in the woods that surrounded the village that was nothing more than simmering huts that were crumbling down just like the last relics of civilizations were within the Echo Ruins.
They… Were to become ruins themselves, you philosophized and chortled, feeling ash tug itself way to the back of your throat as you let a strangled cough out in an attempt to stop your lungs from liquidating the particles into a fine mix of concrete and suffocating you from the inside out. Noa, the very heart of these ruins, was still alive. You knew, you knew.
Otherwise all you had done was for nothing. You needed that, the last bit of reassurance you were able to promote yourself to. That… was okay… A dry smile parted on your lips as you subsided and rested your forehead against the ground once more, letting the night imagine that you were pressing it against Noa’s, you were sinking into him, giving him whatever life you had left in a bid to get him to survive.
Yes… You were always meant to save him, it was true, and that meant… He had to live. For his Clan, for his future that you were not going to be apart of and take in the delectations of him getting other in front of your eyes, the once warmth nature of his fur peppering countless white hairs in a tanglement of wisdom, your stomach turning in on itself out of an incredible sheer will of oddly placed jealousy as if you were now seeing Noa’s life flash before your eyes, two circling Eagles in the long abyss of the blue sky that rounded the Earth, always destined to meet wings, but never destined to truly glide side-by-side. He was going to be great, you felt tears crawling into the cracks around your mouth, into the open wounds where you had been beaten within an inch of your life.
Noa--- Noa would grow. His gait would strengthen, he would teach his fellow Apes of the world beyond the Eagles and assure them there was nothing to be afraid of, your lips whispering to his ear what to say to them for the past year. It was a deepened feeling that you had, assured that the Ape would do what he needed to, almost feeling a sense of pride and you could see the dance of his shoulder as he boasted to you when you were destined to meet again, allowing the soaring to take place again above the Earth, that he had done good by you. That Noa had learned, that Noa… Had lived a full life. Finally, your fingers managed to tug the feather of your pocket out and you drew it upwards towards your face, wanting it to be the last color against the blaze that your eyes were able to comprehend.
Noa would find another more suitable for him, your heart turned in on itself, beating harder than it needed to to keep you alive for the last sustained minutes you were able to spare to think about him, there had to be another if destiny allotted you the privilege to die for him, to die for the Clan to survive. Maybe even Soona, you laughed at that inside of your mind, she would be good for him.
Smart, funny, caring… An Ape herself, able to give Noa what he’d never admit to wanting but was always there in the animalistic pull you had towards each other. With the thought of your laughter came the inconsequential visual of your head tilting back with knowledge that Noa was piercing right to your jugular with the motion vivid and clear like you were living that moment from the many times it happened in the past. Another Mate, he’d be happy, the white vivid coldness that consumed you began spitting back memories of the future that were not going to live.
There were moments you wanted to hold onto, knowing they were never yours to being with.
Noa grasping the back of your head and holding your forehead against his own, explaining in his own terms that… There was more here, your hands digging themselves flushed into the fur of his forearms to keep you steady against the hold he had for you, the hold that was tethering you to the Earth, no longer worried about gravity.
Spliced, taking from your grasp.
Your lips ghosting over his own as Noa brought his thumb up to your bottom lip, your legs… Bare and naked around his tapering waist as he was positioned under you for assurance that you were not hurt as he asked, so soft and so tangled with adoration mixed with carnal desire that was also speaking in his pupil's blown eyes as the Ape looked right at your naked chest, the hackles of his fur-lined body raising in anticipation of the moment. “Are you… sure… I am what you want?” That wasn’t a question, you wanted to whisper but as your hips drew themselves down in assurance you were spat to another remembrance of the future that was not meant to be.
Never to be and you were chasing the pieces of faded obscurity.
The lazy sun pierced your eyes as you squinted at the crystal clear blue of the sky above you, head resting in the surprisingly familiar lap that you had grown accustomed to. The ripping of the thigh muscles ensuring that you were always going to be safe, mouth curling itself into a content smile as you looked at your mated beloved. Echo behavior, Noa’s voice rang in your ear as you felt a pull towards that nature as your lips parted as you whispered the smallest utterance of an ‘I love you’.
Time will forget all things Echo, they were all dying.
‘Child? My…?’ Noa’s voice was barely more than a whisper in your eardrum as you nodded in acute fear and confirmation. His own, your own. Two species sharing in something kind and gentle that would be raised as both. The idea that he could… That he--- Was able to do this with you running rampant as you were pulled so tightly to his chest, your hands drawing themselves into the fur at the base of his muscular neck, ripened now with age as you figured time had passed now as things were going linarily forward, rubbing it in your death-ladened brain that you were never going to experience these moments yourself. The running film in your mind came to a stuttering stop, no more your subconscious told you. Those were going to be reserved for the day you met again and he told you what he had accomplished, letting you, a measly little Echo that blipped his heart for a year, live vicariously through because deep down, Noa would be able to admit that it should have been you.
He’d… Your lips closed themselves as you no longer wanted to taste your tears. Noa would become a father, some day. Hopefully soon, you wished. The Eagle Clan deserved preservation of their greatness, their goodness and kindness that they had shown you despite your differences.
Their acceptance… Would be graced onto a baby Chimpanzee, Noa proud beyond belief, but scared… You swallowed hard. You knew he was going to be so afraid, the feelings drastic in your mind. Failure is always on the horizon in his acute self-deprecation and you could feel your hands holding his baby, so vivid like the softened fur was encasing your senses as you looked down at them with tendered eyes. Their features were not clear, but the green of their eyes was always going to be alight with curiosity and obsession just like Noa’s.
You… are going to become the future that Noa wants, you whispered to the baby you held carefully, maternal in all aspects as you loved the blessed wispfulness of fur that laid upon their hair. Bringing your forehead down to touch them so gently was the easy part, like you were giving them your blessing, your mergerance with Noa so clear that you knew death was coming for you. The future that he deserves, Echo and Ape alike, no animosity… Be… kind to him, he’s doing his best…  You told the baby in your arms. Please, do this for me since I cannot do it myself.
You shared them with him as intended, Noa coming into vision out of the corner of your eye, but they were torn from your grasp at the moment of fruition once you had reached for him and handed the baby Chimp back to the Ape with solemn sadness and he said nothing in your hallucination but gratefully accept the invitation you gave him, his arms strong and caressing the child, so small against his chest as their hands grasped at his chest, the bare nature of his scar, downwards to nestle deep into their fathers chest to sleep… To bond…. He would be afraid of failing them like he feared failing his own Father, but you hoped that he…Would… Remember this, that he knew you had seen this and that things would be okay, and that you were going to be with him without actually being there.
I hope he does know that. You looked at the feather between your bloodied pointer and middle finger and gave it a twirl which seemed to deplete you of all other energy as your eyes blurred and the feather and its fine detailing became nothing but a blur in your vision. Don’t become the rage that rests beneath the surface of guilt. Shutting your eyes, you brought the feather in and lightly placed it to your face. Nothing was felt, nothing was brushing or tickling at your skin and you knew it was time then.
Duty was served, your eyelids were heavy even though they had been shut. No, you wanted to cry, it wasn’t a duty! It was a privilege to sacrifice but you were still clinging to that notion of fear mentioned before. How afraid you were to let Noa go, afraid to let Noa live another life without you, afraid to let Noa endure love from his child when you were not there to help him understand. You calmed yourself though; he’d remember you. Until he didn't.
Until that life that you had spliced together in your own crying and jealous mind became a reality with another and you were left to be forgotten, just another Echo in the long history of your staggering clinginess as you were holding onto an Ape you never had confirmation of feelings with regardless. Fantasies were tearing themselves apart, reality was falling from under you. Yeah, your breathing was shallow and slow now, shoulders barely rising and falling, Noa would forget… And… You wanted him to. It would be unfair to say otherwise.
●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・●・●・○・
Eagle Sun squealed as he came to rest on top of Noa’s shoulder that was dulled to the misery that was still tearing through the muscles there. A plump of small ash rose into Noa’s nostrils as he himself were teetering between sleep and lucidity, taking in no conversations with those around him as he had dragged himself in parallel to seclusion behind a toppled over boulder. Soona had tried to get him to stay, she tried to convince him to conserve whatever strength he had, Dar tried to get him to stay, telling him that the Clan needed his guidance but there was nothing there for him at the moment.
The Clan was fine, he said sharply, eyes coming in and out of focus as he looked at Soona first and then his own Mother with aggravated animosity. He would be fine, he needed--- Nothing else was said and he was gone, leaving them to deal with what he was unable to process.
Mourn, his body told him, mourn for the Clan, mourn for the Eagles of the past, mourn again for your Father, but more factually, mourn for you. Green eyes were falling ahead at nothing in particular anymore, even the dim light of the flames of the village were nothing more than a scape of black and white to the Ape, his fur crying to be brushed of the ashen wood particles of his people’s history that rained down from the gray heavens, no stars to be seen, no clarification for Noa to look upon and ask advice as if there were any. There was not, he was stupid and childish to think that there would be any advice out of the drill of ‘you need to be strong’ or ‘you need to lead your people.’
He did not! Noa bared his teeth and felt them grit together, his canines drilling so hard into the gummed enclosure that he caused himself pain to take away from the ripping of his chest that he felt. Anything--- His hackles were rising and falling with each thought that ran through his mind, the sweeping wrinkles under his eyes incredibly prominent as they were now highlighted red and were dripping moisture down his entire face, catching on the fur of his beard. Noa did not bother wiping them away, the clear vision of your fingers pressing under the delicate skin under your eyes and doing just that, not leaving the forefront of his mind. Such an Echo thing. Such a foreign thing.
He--- would not think about that. About Echo’s. About how… Right his Father was, his heart blistering itself into grief ridden paranoia and hatred that was not justified if he were in his right mind. Echo’s brought nothing more than destruction with every step they took, even you.
Every glance you gave him set him on fire from the inside out until he was charred with nothing but thoughts of what it was going to be like once Noa actually had you, every touch you gave him caused him to feel bile of want to rise in his throat especially when it was fleeting, when your shoulder did nothing but swiggle against his own furry shoulder, something that should have never happened, every smile you flashed him were ingrained into his retinas and Noa was sure to keep his eyes stagnant as to not see it. To not let himself remember that at the end of the day, this destruction of his Clan and his very own self-being were caused by you.
The Eagle Clan’s leader  wanted it so badly too, for you to step on him and take what was yours. What he had given you. Noa would still beg for it if it meant you would come back to him this very night and even with a heavily injured body, he’d somehow make you his, awkward and rigid, his blood smearing into your own as Noa desperately brought his weight down on you, crushing to the point where you had no room for air any longer, face contorting the way that was remembered in his own mind, and the Chimpanzee would ride you until the sun came up out of self-gratification and indulgence. Mine. This beautiful onslaught of hatred, muddled with adoration and perfection, leaking around the very edges of the glass with brimmed primal intent… Was all his.
“Leave… me alone…” His voice was tearing itself apart with self-loathing riding along the very edges with regret seeping into the more puddled middle. He did not want the sympathy of an Eagle who had lost their Master. Any rational thought was eradicated, his gaze sliding to intensely stare towards the bird who was perched on his right shoulder, talons now seeping into the wound that would not care to stop bleeding. Noa seethed at that, baring his teeth towards Eagle Sun, and in one sharp and twisted motion, Noa was on his feet and flew his free and uninjured hand into the air like he was going to take off himself and shouted at Sun. “LEAVE ME.” The sun would come up soon, he thought ha-hazardly, now drawing back down to the ground to resume the crumpled up position that he had been in before… Noa growled and rolled his shoulders despite the screams that he was getting from the tendons to stop movements so they could begin healing. That stupid bird bothered him! Stupid, dumb… Pointless… Bird… Noa felt a chuckled sob swipe the back of his throat. You… Loved that bird even if Eagle Sun was cautious of you. The attempts you had made to get close to him, your fingers being pecked into oblivion. That… Noa tilted his head and sniffed, the air condensed with thick burnt undertones. That was the first time that he had seen you bleed, your very first attempt to get Eagle Sun to come to you and his beak caused your fragile skin to break.
The blood was vivid in front of Noa’s eyes as he thought about that time, months upon months ago. You… bled just like an Ape, gasping loudly and letting out a strangled cry, just like an Ape as you pulled yourself away from the Eagle, muttering under your breath as you brought your finger in for inspection as Noa heard you say ‘what a jerk’.
Your blood… The scent was still heavy to Noa like you were there with him and he was the one responsible for your breaking down form. That he had done what he carnally wanted, canines sinking themselves into the most tender piece of flesh that he was about to find upon inspection of your jugular. The pressure point pulsating for him headily, Noa’s eyes falling shut as your sweat encased his taste buds first and then the gush of crimson that he imagined would come from digging straight into the light veins that traced your skin.
‘What am I supposed to do?’ Noa signed towards nothing in particular, there was no one around to see the words that fell deftly into the world, now tracing themselves with the words that you had spoken so freely and so affectionately towards him. They felt like they meant everything but nothing anymore…
Noa drew a hard breath in and felt the flooding of his lungs and the pushing of the shattering of his ribs against the flesh that rested not outside his bruised body, but inside of it. Maybe his Father, Noa thought vaguely. That’s who he was talking to. In life, he never sought advice from Koro. He--- Never understood Noa. Never took the time to understand the way that Noa thought and for good reason! The young Ape stiffened when his body racked itself with an intense wash of keen agony at the viciousness of his thought.
For good reason… It was Noa’s mind and his openness, his want to understand Raka, to understand the way of Caesar, that got him to this point. It made no sense, he began down that trail that was laid down with the skulls of fallen Echo and fallen Ape, arm in arm in death, but never eye to eye in life. Why… keep the teachings of the first Ape to deny the embrace of being locked in cages?
Why were… Raka’s ideas are so important to Noa, why… did he get so obsessed with them when his Father’s words were so clear? Even in his death, Noa felt he disrespected his people and refused to listen and heed any good advice from Koro. He was… Naive… You had made him naive and made him believe in the ways that Raka spoke about, perhaps taken a bit too literally as there was never emotions that equated into the agreement that was sealed in a handshake, something so Echo that Noa, thinking about it now, could only feel the imprints of your palm against him. Urging him upwards, urging him to look at the sky and he felt the glazing of your forehead against his, green, lush and remarkably alight eyes imagined how it must have felt for his half-conscious state to feel that. The kiss of your bloodied forehead against the Apes, a symbol and a mark that was never to be broken but it was when you chose to let him live in place of your own self. Noa peered at the sky, longing for something to make sense, longing for you to be there with him, to tell him that it was alright and that the emotions he were feeling were all justified.
Noa wanted to feel the tender caress of your fingers so far into his fur that there was nothing else that mattered… Because… Bringing his eyes back down, they shut for a few moments as they stung with the ash that clung desperately to the air that wanted nothing more than to cause aggravated assault. Nothing here mattered without you. Noa squeezed himself tighter and felt a snap in his shoulder, something that would have caused him to double over but it felt good compared to the rundown nature of the rest of his nerves that were flaring and desperate to start their journey to heal him. He did not care then, it felt so good to have some form or relief. Green eyes that were always so lively with color that flitted the most beautiful gold were now dull and driven to despair. Where did he draw the line in the sand?
Where did you fall into this, death coming for you twice? Once when he found you, once again when he was forced to say goodbye in Soona’s arm as he had heard your last declaration to have her save him instead of you? You were death itself, walking around him and tempting him over again with your lips against the shell of his ear, your mouth licking at the fur below and skyrocketing fear and electricity through his senses. Temptation drew him in, the idea that Echo were the same as Apes and over time it became more and more clear that it was the case, that both sides refused to see that. Temptation placed itself in your actions as you cleaned him of all doubt that he had made a mistake to offer you refuge. Greed… Seeped into every pore of his body, every fluttering aspect of his fur down to the very small hairs that lined and coated closer to his skin.
Noa was greedy and now he was willing to admit that. He had done what he wanted out of greed and desperation to break the norm and to prove to himself and others that Echo were good because you showed him that they were! You--- Noa shut his eyes and felt himself tear into an open sob. You were good… So good for him, so good to him and now he needed to grapple that there was no longer a future to envision. You were gone, you were dead, assured by his Mother for only a moment as he tore himself open to be exposed to the elements of bereavement. You were gone, the breeze was no longer bringing your scent to him and he was holding his hand out for you to take but you were so far under the water that he wasn’t even able to feel your fingertips grazing against his.
Noa rocked his body- front and then backwards viciously to get himself to stand- To motivate himself to turn his face forward and look at his Clan and admit that he had made such a drastic mistake and to promise that… He would serve them in the future and never serve himself. Noa would force himself to find a mate, maybe one of the Elders' daughters who had interest and knew the ways, Noa would force himself to bear children with them and never take in the delectations that were associated with what he imagined Echo mating to be like. The sweet caress of your body against his leathered and callus skin, the rolling of your head backwards as you arched against him and desperately pleaded for him. No more, to be forgotten. Noa would love his children surely, he would support them and give them what they needed unlike what he felt happened with his own Father but he would never let himself forget the idea that even if it wasn’t possible with an Echo - he could at least try. Noa could have at least tried to drive himself into you as many times as it took to assure the future of his Clan that seemed so bleak and droughted now to him. Noa needed to stand, to face his people instead of turning his back on them… They… He thought and looked over his good shoulder and finally turned himself into the bustle of the Apes behind him, a few meters to the west as they were being tended to by Soona and Dar. They needed him… They needed their leader to take them to the promised land and to raise them from the very ashes of history. “Noa---”
That… Narrowing his eyes, there was a wash of panic that rested in his fellow Apes that he had been so ignorant of, voices overlapping each other as twigs broke underfoot as they shuffled in the dark, soon to be twinkling with the dawn that was at the cusp of the horizon, he could hear the drawing of chittering from deep in their chest, a form of communication that was verbal but used no words followed by harder barks of aggression.
Something--- Noa’s eyes amply lit themselves up at the sight of a torch that was lingering too close to the Clan now. That voice was Soona calling his name, his eyes forcing themselves onto her movements as she was hunched on all fours, skidding to a stop on the floor of the woods and tore into the dirt and sediment below.
 “Another! There is another!”
He opened his mouth to say something, to ask anything but his voice was gone as he felt terror resting in the back of his throat at the realization. Echo. There… had been more. They… Came to seek revenge for their fallen comrades and were going to kill the rest of the Clan! Noa stiffened, “Must hurry. Get---” He grunted as he stood, his knees buckling under the sheer weight that he carried, only muscle and no fat. ‘Any ape…’ He signed to Soona and followed her closely back towards where the Clan were gawking at the appearance of another devil. ‘That can fight.’
The female Ape beside Noa only nodded and broke apart from him once up the small embankment of the boulder he had secluded himself behind earlier. Noa felt his movements to be slow and shining with aggravation that he was priming his taut muscles again to fight, this time, he accepted, to the death. The Earth moved below his weight, not helping the fact that he was already unbalanced beyond what he was capable of correcting in his right mind. Another assault and it would end in either their own demise, or his. The latter seemed to realistically attainable, he wanted to see you, wanted to greet you and finally tell you all the things that had been plaguing his mind since he handed you that blue feather, setting in motion a very tangly dance of courting that neither of you were actually aware of happening.
The brushing of his shoulder against yours that would displace his scent against your sweetened notes, the stares you gave one another as you spoke of things outside of your own cultures, hands inching closer, one by one, feet stepping one motion at a time before the entire world shifted and you were gone from in front of him and Noa’s reaction time was too slow to grab at any idea that you were even there in the first place. The Master of the Eagle Clan only had one thing to fight for left. It was a male Echo that Soona drew worry to, that was the first deduction. Male, not armed…? Nothing cased his smaller body, thinned from malnutrition as most Echo were. That’s what made them so easy to hunt and kill as a sport. Noa’s brow hardened as he stared down the small hill at them as he heard a few hisses from the Apes that the Echo was passing as they were brought to Noa’s utmost attention, his brain feeling nothing more than a scrambled Eagle Egg on a hot simmering rock.
“You---” Their voice caught in their throat, nothing more than a jumbled mess of high pitched noises as they looked up at him, Noa feeling a drench of intimidating factor radiating off him, even from the very tips of his fur were they shivering and shoving down this Echo’s throat. “You’re-you… You’re the leader?” “What do you want?” Noa barked at them, letting his canines slip into display as his eyes were turned from the softness of thinking of you to the bitterness that this Echo had the audacity to come find them to finish the job as if taking you along the waist side with them wasn’t bad enough. “WHAT DO YOU WANT?!”
The tenacity in his vocals surprised everyone, the Echo falling nearly flat on his back but that was nothing compared to the stares that he was garnering from the Apes themselves. Chimpanzee eyes were widened with fear that he could kill them if he chose, if they did not pull their weight in the Clan, Bonobo green glances were shared amongst each other as no one knew Noa to be aggressive, to use force. He was an intelligent fighter, hackles began to arise on all the Apes' fur in thinned anticipation of what this meant, all minds like a hive sharing the same notion and idea of radicating revenge.
The fact that Noa was displaying such an air of arrogant hatred and encroachment evident in his powered stance, his thighs pained but willing to put forth one more effort, his shoulders, one rendered completely useless in the idea of another tussle, but the other rolling as to show the Echo that even one handed, he was more than capable of tearing their face off. “S-She’s alive!” The male held his hands up as Apes began to enforce themselves into their personal space, the clear indication of fear rising and hitting all their noses. Sweat and adrenaline as if that were going to save them if they decided to attack him. Noa’s mouth opened for only a moment as he stared at him, their eyes afraid to look into the soul of an Ape as a Bonobo next to him hissed nearly directly into his ear before his lips drew themselves back together to keep rational though his train of conductive thought began tearing itself apart. You… were alive? Where?! He wanted to rattle this Echo by the neck. TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!!!! Noa’s eyes widened minutely before resuming their narrowed glance. The Echo whimpered and shifted away but only caught the attention of another bonobo on his other side.
“What.--- did you say?” The control in his voice was gone and Noa knew that he was running the risk of being played again but the greed he had discussed in introspection earlier was rising in the back of his skull, tickling at the notion that… The male Echo here spoke the truth. You were alive. Breathing, succulent as ever in wafted graces of smell, but hurt beyond compensation to the point where Noa wanted to rip this Echo’s face off and lick the blood off the insides for even speaking of you. No one was allowed to anymore, it was law. You were reserved in memory encased glass now, to be locked in Noa’s mind for the rest of his lie.
“The one th-that got us here! She’s AH!” A Chimpanzee grasped his forearm, looking up at Noa as they did and Noa did not give them the time of day, waiting for more baited words from this man. “I--- Was never a part of them, they threatened to kill my family… My…” He looked around frantically at the Apes around him, “My family… I cou-couldn’t do it, so I hid in the for-forest… I---” It was clear that he was bargaining with Noa, with all of them. Probably to save his pathetic little life as Soona came rounding to Noa’s right side and stared alongside with him.
“Could have saved her before---”
“They would have killed me!” “They should have.” Noa snapped back without empathy or remorse leaking out. They should have killed this worthless excuse of an Echo. No, not that affectionate in nature. This absolutely disgraced Human who probably came here to save his life rather than to be hunted by another group of ruthless Apes that would gut him alive. Noa gestured with his muzzle to take the Echo away, to let him die out in the wilderness.
A death by the hand of an Ape would come too swift to this creature, Noa decided, his eyes widening as the Echo dragged his hand into his pocket, shifting aggressively against the Apes that had a hold on him. Everyone assumed a weapon, the flashing of several pairs of teeth indicative of that along with raised fur, hardened breath and heavy beady weight drawing flat and wide feet into the ground. Echo weapon like what injured Noa so badly.
“She gave me this!” Blue. Noa’s eyes were broad with reminiscent melancholy. Eagle… Sun’s… Feather…
“Where did you---” Soona shot Noa’s side profile a glance as his voice wavered unconfidently, not believing what she was hearing.
“She gave it to me, I’m telling you she is alive! She said you would recognize this!”
‘He lies.’ Soona signed towards her sunset brother but Noa raised his good hand and cut her off.
‘Why risk coming here when he’s alone? Where did he get the feather?’
Soona responded but Noa did not pay it any attention as the feather was captivating his reddened eyes. Noa bargained now, washing into a dream-like state at the appearance of something that very clearly carried your scent within the tiny bristles. So warm, the smell was even though it was just a trace of blood, but it was there and it was catapulting the Ape into the great unknown of what lay beyond the offering this Echo just gave. Wanting nothing more than truth so he could see your face, hold your face and tell you that he was sorry for everything knowing fully well that you would say the same thing if you saw him, Noa swallowed hard.
He felt his heart yearn for that… Even if you were actually dead, he wanted the morbid satisfaction of being the last hands to touch you. You were his and only his, even in death and Noa would never let the mounting guilt that flooded his senses ever forget that. There was always the intent to go back for you, even once the fires dissipated. Alone and torn to shreds the few things that he never cared about. He’d place you next to his Father. He’d--- He looked at Soona with a softened gaze of assurance, he’d hoped that you were with Koro and you were telling him the ways of the Echo just like you had done to his Son.
Noa…knew that Soona was going to disagree with this much like she disagreed with the agreement you and Noa made nearly a year ago. There was no way to tell her, to describe to her that even though he knew it come be a threat, that he could die, he was more than willing to try. Willing to see you just once more after his harsh abandonment left him feeling more gaped than the wound that inflicted his chest, the blood around itr now drying in heaps and heaps upon the clotted fur that was tangled with dirt.
She growled at him, a deflection to get him to stop considering what he was about to do. He was playing around with the emotions of one of his closest friends, teetering on the very thin line of distrust. If Soona was right, she’d never believe in Noa’s judgment again, none of the Apes would. But… If this Echo were right then… Noa was wrong, and you were still alive out there, saved by this Echo who came here… He sniffled a bit, the fur that was raised on his shoulder falling down slowly as he tried to keep his breathing rational but the feather’s appearance was dragging him into the ground below, his emotions frayed from no sleep, his brain not comprehending anything outside of getting you back to his side.
‘I will let him take me to her.’
‘She is dead! Noa.’ Her hands quickened as the human watched them communicate in utter silence, a cruel contradiction to the loudness that Echo seemed to carry with them to all corners of the land. ‘What if he brought more!? We cannot defend ourselves with what we have!’
“You need…” Noa looked at the ground and spoke in nothing but a wistful whisper and felt a stifled cry rise in him as he lifted his tendered shoulder and placed it against Soona’s smaller body, right against her outer shoulder and he pulled her to him languidly, “To trust me… If I do not…” Soona opened her mouth to protest but could see the contemplation written on Noa’s face as he had thought this through as he so often did. And like the conversation of the past to get them all convinced to let you stay, Soona did not agree with his reason or justifications… She did not understand but she chose to do as Noa wanted. Trust.
“If I do not come back, you must take the Clan to the place we scouted out. Let them take me… to save… Eagle Clan.”
“Noa…” Her voice was soft as he tore himself from her, every step he took towards the Echo antagonistic and threatening just to drive home the fact that Noa was indeed a predator and he was willing to do what he needed to do to defend himself. Cross me, his gait said to the male who cowered as he got closer and crouched down, ignoring the sensation of intense crunching of his ribcage from the motion of his body once again closing on on itself and he peered into a set of eyes that should have been so familiar, they were Echo like yours were, but were drawn to fear much like yours had been the first time you laid eyes on Noa and he felt a prickle of familiarity at that.I will be the one to kill your family, every last one of them, his green eyes said, pupils dilated to eclipse any of the color. I will drive them to the very ends of the Earth and put their bodies up on display on wooden sheared spears if you dare.
Spotting Soona one last glance as she moved slowly on all fours towards Noa, her lacked movements evident that she was uncomfortable with his choice but once his eyes set on Dar, who had been moving to help the baby Apes move away from the fight that she sensed could break out, she looked at her Son tenderly. You… Do what you need to do to save your mate, she said softly, Noa feeling the pang hit him at the idea that Dar…
His own Mother… Wanted nothing more than to turn back time and do the same for Koro, to help aid Noa in the fight in hopes that three against one gorilla would give them any chance. Noa knew - His mind playing the moments of his childhood where he had seen his parents foreheads pressing, his tongue out of his mouth at the display of affection, talking to Anaya and Soona about the lack of interest he ever had in fulfilling that, in setting another female Ape to take his Mother’s position that was garnered with respect and adoration. Noa knew Dar would have done what he could to save Koro and she was giving him the chance, confident her Son would succeed to do just that.
Noa narrowed his eyes and puffed his breath against the Echo’s face. He cowered again and grunted as he fell almost straight on his back but got caught by another Chimpanzee behind him as Noa’s hand delicately plucked the blue feather right from his shimmering fingertips with acute ease and sacredness of what the item meant to the two of you. It glistened with crimson blood, dark and whispering to him that you were still alive, this blood was fresh and not dried and flaking off. Noa brought it to his lips and let his tongue swipe at it just once, coating it with a glimmer of saliva. Alive, it tasted… Tucking the feather into his armband, careful and gentle as the moistened feather now tangled into the dryer nature of his fur, he muttered.
“Take me to her.”

Tumblr media
Miguel and Peter want a third child, and apparently they've run out of options. That is, except for you, their friend and colleague. They offer to cover everything, and the pay is life-changing. There's just one catch: they went to concieve naturally.
- One month later-
‘Breakfast! Come on, wakey wakey!
You darted your head towards the door of your bedroom as Peter’s voice drifted through. Was everyone awake already?
You were standing half naked in your own little guest room, one you were very well acquainted with at this point. Your clothes filled the wardrobes and spilled out over the edge of the bathroom hamper, and the bed had your signature messy look to it. Your items were all over the bedside table, the bathroom smelled like your favorite body wash, and you could find your way to bed now even with the light fully off.
You also had been here long enough to know that call, and to know what the morning routine was.
You hurried to pull on some comfortable, lounging clothes before pushing your door open to join the rest of the household.
Peter was in the kitchen behind a smoky stove, busy cooking away for once. You were used to Miguel being the chef around here, at least for the girls. Neither of the boys were very accomplished cooks but they desperately wanted you to believe otherwise.
You could also see two little heads bouncing up and down beside him, heads which immediately homed in on you as you entered.
‘Y/N!’ May squealed, her little socks skidding on the floor as she hurried around the counter.
‘Good morning, ladies’ you said, gently holding out your hands as the girls rushed towards you. You’d gotten used to the way May would squeal and rush to latch onto your leg, and the way Gabriella would politely take your hand and jump up and down as she tried to tell you about her day.
This morning was no exception. The girls both cried for you from the kitchen where they were huddled around Peter, tugging on his trousers as he tried to finish loading up five plates worth of pancakes.
You could see he was sweating over the pan but he had the most infectious, patient smile on his face regardless, dressing in his loose shirt and pants with a tight pink apron around his waist.
As you approached Peter beamed and made a slight ‘oh’ face. ‘Oh, good morning! Hey, watch this’ he called, and without missing a beat he tossed a pancake nearly a meter into the air before catching it again.
‘Come on, am I getting good or am I getting good?’ Peter crowed. He relished in your polite, slightly amused clap and the girl's squeals of excitement.
‘You’re going to make a mess, that’s what you’re doing.’
Miguel’s gruff, smooth voice filled the kitchen as he entered from his and Peter’s bedroom. He was still in his pajamas a common sight for you now, with his hair messy and unkempt and a slight stubble on his jaw. It was a weekend, and he’d just returned from a long and vicious mission, so you understood his desire to relax a little. You knew Peter tried to enforce rest where he could.
‘My love- I made EVERYONE’S plates without spilling a single one!’ Peter protested. He pouted up a storm but still melted when Miguel came up to kiss his temple.
‘Mhm. You got very statistically lucky’ Miguel purred back. ‘Now I’d like you to stop being that luck runs out.’
‘Papa!’
Miguel paused his teasing to scoop up May and Gabriella in both arms, kissing them both on the cheek before carrying them over to the dining table.
‘Yes, good morning mi amors’ he said with a yawn, his face also endlessly patient as the girls patted at his worn, rough face. He even chuckled as May tried to trickle him, showing no response to her patting at his thick neck.
‘Alright, come on, behave. What will our guest think?’ Miguel added as he put the girls down in their chairs. May groaned.
‘They’re not a GUEST anymore! They’ve been here FOREVER!’ she whined.
‘A month isn’t forever’ Miguel said gently, ‘and even if it was forever, would that mean you can still be so rude in front of them?’
‘YEAH! It does! They’re like you and daddy, they have to put up with us’ May insisted.
You couldn’t help but stifle a giggle on the sidelines. The girls were so damn charming, it was so hard not to love them. Just like their dads.
‘Alright! Sit, sit down, come on! Chop, chop!’
Peter’s impatient yelling and clapping drove you to rush to your seat, and as you did you got a chance to say good morning to Miguel. He bumped against you as you moved past him to your seat, and you got to watch as his eyes softened and creased. They roamed from your face, to your chest, right down to your belly, and there they lingered before rolling back up.
You felt your heart skip as he smiled.
‘Mi compinche’ he whispered. You snorted at the little nickname he’d given you over the past month, which was mostly a stand-in since they couldn’t really think of what else to call you. ‘Good morning’ he added.
‘Good morning, Migs’ you replied, only to be shoved into your seat by a huffing Peter.
‘Sit DOWN! No respect in this place!’ he groaned while also shoving Miguel into his seat. The man could have overpowered him all too easily but he sank down just to appease his sulking lover.
‘I know, I know. I’m awful to you’ Miguel chuckled as he checked the news on a holographic tablet. Peter snorted and put on a pout.
‘You are! Anyway- good morning you lovely little thing, look at you.’ The moment Peter turned to you his attitude changed, turning into another dorky smile as he laid down the first few plates.
‘Good morning again, Peter’ you replied with a similar chuckle.
You ate breakfast with the family in relative peace. Miguel was quite quiet, busy checking the news and the Spider Society’s daily going-on's while Peter chatted to May about her dreams and to Gabriella about her upcoming soccer game.
Miguel would interject to take notice every so often, still clearly concerned about the girls, but you knew enough now to know he showed affection in a more subdued manner to Peter. You could tell he looked contented though. Surprisingly contented…
‘Alright! Come on, Gabi’s got practise, let's go!’
You were jolted from your daydreaming by Peter’s cry, as the man pushed back his chair and hurried to get the dishes in the sink before herding the girls away.
Ah, right. They’ve got soccer practice, you thought. I’ll be home alone today.
The girls rushed off to get dressed, and while you got up to do the same, you were stopped.
You felt a thick, firm hand on your wrist, which then gently moved down to your fingers as if the person realized they were being a little too aggressive. You turned already knowing who it was.
‘Hey, hermosa/o’ Miguel said, his voice low and sweet. You smiled up at him.
‘Hey! What’s up? Is it—’
Before you could finish speaking you felt him slip something into your open hand, forcing you to grasp it. It felt like… a little cardboard box?
You rolled it around in your hand, your face growing more and more confused. It was long and thin, you could feel the soft raised brail points on its edge…
‘It- what is this?’ you whispered after a few moments of confused pause.
Miguel met your gaze with glimmering, bright red eyes. They were overflowing with excitement.
‘Pregnancy test’ he whispered, like it was the most inane thing in the world. Your heart skipped a beat, and you had to stop yourself from instinctively touching your belly.
‘You- wait, already?’ you whispered back.
Miguel’s eyes narrowed as he licked his fang, offering just a soft, almost amused grunt of confidence. ‘Mm, compinche, I already told you. The first time will have done it. You were ovulating then, it should have been enough time to show up. So, go on.’
You found your chest growing oddly tight. Already? You were already expected to be pregnant?
Miguel seemed to sense your insecurity, as his own brows went up, but before he could ask if you were okay, you smiled back and nodded.
‘Okay! Sure, no problem. I’ll um- I’ll check it this afternoon, whenever I need to pee, I guess. And- we’ll see’ you replied, quickly soothing his worries.
Miguel beamed down at you, and god it almost hurt. He looked so proud of you.
‘Mil gracias, mi compinche’ he purred back.
You stared down at the little test your hands, sitting alone in the en-suite to your temporary room in Miguel’s apartment. It was isolated here, and you’d hoped it would be quiet, but you could still hear May and Gabi playing in the living room just a few doors away.
One line. Just one line on the thin blue test in your grip. You let out a slight sigh of disappointment.
It had only been a month, that’s what you kept telling yourself, as your mind swirled.
It’d only been a month. Why, then, did it bother you so much?
You’d waited until the afternoon to take the test, as you’d somehow been too nervous to pee. You’d drunk nearly three gallons of water beforehand but only now had it worked, and only when the whole family happened to be home again after soccer practice.
You’d hoped to have time to prepare. Either to mentally prepare for this outcome or to prepare a surprise for the positive lines.
But now…
You crept out of the bathroom and peered into the living room. You could see Miguel and Peter were trying to teach May how to use her new web shooter to knock little plush toys off of the coffee table, while Gabi was mischievously throwing items in her way to distract her as she tried to web those instead.
You heard them laughing, and cheering.
Your stomach turned. Oh god. Were you about to ruin the good mood?
You slowly, shyly, closed the door, right as Miguel glanced at it.
You couldn’t stand to face them yet.
You lost track of time pacing in the bedroom, going back and forth over the fine wood flooring until it squeaked. How did you tell them? It wasn’t a big deal, right? It was normal, this was normal, but they’d made it seem like you SHOULD be pregnant right now.
Oh god, what if they were disappointed? What if they hated you? What if they thought you weren’t good enough for this?
You hated feeling this way about your friends, but you’d gotten so comfortable here, so happy, so content, and now… You remembered that you were here for a job. A serious job. And, it already felt like you’d failed…
‘Compinche?’
You jumped in place, your spine chilling at that familiar voice. You spun in place and found both Peter and Miguel in the doorway.
‘Heeyy, pretty thing, just- can we, come in?’ Peter said softly, his eyes as desperate as a puppy.
Your heart sank. You couldn’t exactly tell them no…
‘Ah- sorry, yeah, come in’ you murmured. The boys took the opportunity right away, swiftly shifting the door at their backs as they crossed the room towards you.
Miguel looked ecstatic but impatient. He seemed surprised you hadn’t told them the moment you came out of the bathroom, confused as to why you weren’t screaming and jumping for joy about his new baby.
Oh god, why, why, why…
‘Look, hey, we have to get ready for dinner, but… We wanted to ask first…’
Miguel approached with his hands outstretched, the softest smile spreading across his face as he implored you. Peter was beaming at his back.
‘It’s okay, the girls can find out later’ he added gently when you refused to say a word. Your heart sank. God, it hurt so bad. He was expecting it already, like he was so sure it’d worked. He assumed you must just be shy about these things.
You couldn’t get the words out. It was too hard. You paused, and then slowly you shook your head. You held up the little test to show the single line instead.
The way Miguel’s face changed was agony. The way his lips jittered, like he was forcing them to stay up. The way his body tensed and lowered. The way his shoulders just… deflated.
He was fixed on that line like it was his worst enemy, like it was a person who’d personally spat in his face. He paused and went silent for just a moment as he wiped a hand down his face, and God, the sigh he let out was like a knife to the chest.
‘Okay’ he whispered.
You pursed your lips into a thin line as you tried to stay calm. Why was this so hard? Why was he taking this so badly? It was just the first time. Still, you couldn’t say it out loud. ‘I… I’m sorry—’
To your surprise he then suddenly pulled you into an embrace, squeezing you tight to his huge chest. You felt so minuscule against his enormous form, tightly clutched in his giant biceps, feeling his pectorals heave as his heart thundered against your cheek.
His heart thundering… His breath a little ragged…
Oh god, he wasn’t mad. He was upset. But, was he upset with you?
‘It’s okay’ he murmured, his chin resting now on the top of your head. ‘It’s okay. It’s okay. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’ll- try again, we’ll try again. We’ve got time.’
You could only nod awkwardly. This felt almost unfair. Almost nobody just got pregnant within a month of trying, it wasn’t this unusual. While Miguel’s confidence was fun and, in a way, sexy, the real pressure now mounting on you felt incredibly unnecessary.
But then he said something that really made you pause.
‘I can do this.’
I can do this. Not ‘you’ can do this, referring to you, or even ‘we’. I can do this.
He didn’t act mad, at least not towards you. Was he, angry at himself?
‘Hey, hey, it’s okay.’
Peter was the one who then rushed in and squeezed you so tight your ribs hurt, offering Miguel the same. Miguel was silent as he hugged him back.
‘It’s fine! It’s the first month, these things happen. It might even, just uh- show up next week, actually. Maybe it’s a little early. But either way, it’s normal. It’s fine. Nobody did anything wrong, YOU did nothing wrong mi amor, and neither did you pretty thing’ Peter said, softly tutting sympathetically as he saw the pain in your eyes.
Miguel remained silent.
‘We’ll try again tonight’ he repeated with a gruff tone, lightly rolling his shoulders as he forced that stoic, calm expression to fill his face. Peter’s smile faltered a little.
‘Is that, okay with you?’
As he turned to you, you nodded desperately. ‘Yeah! Of course, it—’
‘It is REALLY okay with you?’ Miguel said, his voice suddenly sounding oddly vulnerable and concerned. ‘I don’t- Ah, I’m sorry’ he said through gritted teeth, wiping a hand down his face. ‘I don’t- I know I’m, putting pressure on you, it’s not my intention. I’m sorry. I am. Just… are you really okay to try again tonight?’
You paused only for a moment in the face of his big, soft, puppy eyes, before nodding.
‘Yeah- yeah! Yeah. I am. I’m fine to go again. We’ll start again, I’ll- track my periods, I’ll take the injections, it- it’ll be fine.’
Peter’s sympathetic face turned into a grateful mess as his lip quivered, and Miguel too had his brows turn up with a look of what could only be pride.
‘… Thank you, compinche’ Miguel murmured. He put a hand on your head, ruffling your hair before pulling back with a melancholic huff. ‘Thank you.’
The two men left you as the girls started screaming for their attention. You watched Peter put a silent hand on Miguel’s back, as if propping him up when he barely had the strength to do so, before the two stepped out as if nothing had happened.
You remained, alone, in your room. This was going to be a long night.
That evening you waited for Miguel and Peter to visit, and sure enough they appeared the moment the girls were asleep.
Miguel came in already half naked in just his pajama pants, while Peter was wearing his full loungewear. The two looked a lot less hopeful than they did the first night you’d been in this situation.
You gulped, trying not to show how nervous you were.
‘Peter, mi amor.’
Miguel addressed Peter first before you, his eyes glancing to his partner as you sat alone on the mattress. Peter glanced at you then at him.
‘Yes?’
‘Mm… We’ll, both do it, right?’ he said softly, a fang flashing beneath his lip as he licked his teeth. Peter nodded quickly. ‘Yes, if- they want that.’
‘Ah… guys?’
You couldn’t stop yourself from speaking up as they glanced at each other, but when they looked down at you in unison you felt the lump in your throat grow.
You were a mess of arousal and nerves, far worse than the last night. The sight of those huge men, powerful and relying on you, with those soft brown eyes and dark red eyes both peering at you like meat in the dim light, you felt your body stiffen.
‘Sorry, I—’
‘No, no don’t apologize.’ Miguel raised his hand and gently cut you off. He looked strained over something, but when he spoke to you, he was as gentle as ever. ‘You’re fine. It’s okay, just- We were saying, I wanted Peter to help with the, uh, foreplay first before getting into it, since…’
Miguel paused and glanced at Peter again, who gently nodded for him to continue. ‘He’s… agreed, I will be the only one having sex, with you, tonight’ Miguel said after a small pause, his voice dripping as it slipped from his lips.
You blinked in surprise at that. It’d just be Miguel tonight? Even after the bad news with the baby? Surely they’d both want to be taking turns even more now.
‘I… Oh, sure, no that’s- fine, that’s fine’ you murmured.
‘It’s not because I don’t want to’ Peter said, offering an awkward tease in the face of the weird tension filling the bedroom. ‘Trust me, I uh- would love to, but, papi here requested it.’
You glanced up at Miguel and saw that same look in his eye you’d seen before, that dark, red, glowering glare that seemed both so overly confident and so insecure at the same time. It was a look of desperation, a look of need. You felt his eyes on you like a drowning man swimming towards a pocket of air.
What had gotten into him?
You breathed in deeply and slowly nodded.
‘Yeah, of course. That’s fine. That’s, fine. I’m fine with that’ you reply slowly.
Miguel gave a curt nod, a contended, affectionate nod, and without another word, he crawled onto the bed.
As Miguel descended on you, he stank of hormones. He had a dark expression, one clouded with testosterone and primal need, and it was like that need was seeping through his pores, coating his rough, scarred skin in a light sheen of pure virility.
When he flexed his veins popped on his forearms, his biceps tight and round. He didn’t even need to speak for you to back down, cowering on your chest as he put his nose to your neck. He breathed in deep, and you shivered.
‘Mm… Okay, we’ll do your favorite, si?’ Miguel purred against your nape. You nodded.
‘Yeah, y-yeah—AH!’
You squeaked as Miguel lifted your hips without even moving his face or body. He spread your legs by slipping his muscled arm between your thighs and lifting you by the cunt, raising your hips about a foot from the mattress, allowing Peter to slide down beneath your pussy.
‘Good’ Miguel purred against your neck again. ‘Good, good.’
‘That’s it, pretty little thing, come down gently now. Don’t you worry about suffocating me either, if you do it’d be an honor’ Peter said as he carefully took over maneuvering your hips from Miguel. The larger man released your soft, wet vulva from his grip with a soft grunt, and Peter took the weight with both his hands.
He breathed on you a few times, teasing just a little as he blew hot air against your swollen clit, but he could only hold off for so long.
With a low moan, he dropped your pussy onto his face.
‘A-AH! Ahh, f-fuck’ you whimpered.
Peter moaned as he began swirling his tongue, eagerly sucking and slathering your clit with all the love he could muster, while Miguel moved his hand back down and carefully shifted it through the folds until he found your entrance.
He didn’t waste time on ceremony. He slipped one finger in, pumped, dragging the soft side of his finger right down your g-spot, then withdrew and replaced it with two fingers.
You screamed. You could do nothing else. The walls were thankfully very soundproofed, so it wasn’t an issue, but even if it had been you weren’t sure you’d have had the strength to stop.
‘OH- O-OH MY, GOD, FUCK!’
Between Miguel’s thick, calloused fingers pumping in and out and Peter eagerly making out with your clit in the messiest way possible, you melted into absolute putty in their hands.
Miguel grinned. You felt it against your neck, his lips pulling back and his sharp teeth bumping your nape as he breathed. His breath was hot, potent, desperate.
He began to move his fingers harder. With each pump you got a little looser, a little wetter, and soon his fingers were squelching as they moved in and out.
‘Good, come on. That’s it, baby’ Miguel whispered against your ear. He was commanding you like a horse, like an animal to be trained, and it did something to you. ‘Go on, that’s it. Loosen up. It’ll make it easier.’
‘U-Uh, f-fucckkk, fuck—’
Your eyes rolled as Miguel pulled back a little and pulsated his fingers at about halfway, keeping the tips on your g-spot. Peter, sensing the movement, quickly moved to suck on your clit at exactly the right time.
With a dull, frantic cry you orgasmed for the both of them, your body shaking with the strain of every muscle slowly tightening and then releasing with that heavy wave of pleasure. Peter dragged your hips down until you were crushing him, cutting off all his air just so he could get his tongue right up into your cunt, tasting every inch of that orgasm as it quivered to a stop.
Miguel let his fingers stay just long enough to feel it, to help squish some of those precious juices down for Peter to taste, before abruptly pulling out.
Your body was limply rolled off of Peter’s face and onto the bed, still on your front, and after supplying a few soft, soothing pets and gruff praise Miguel moved to whisper at Peter.
‘I’m going now. Okay?’ he hissed.
Peter was barely lucid. His eyes were glazed over, his lips and face red and wet, and his cock was hard and throbbing in his loose pants to the point he had to half-heartedly adjust them, pawing at his own erection with a soft whine.
‘O-Okay, ah… I- can I—’
‘Yes, mi amor, you can watch and satisfy yourself. Or, you can wait for me to be done and—’
‘No. No, lemme- watch’ Peter whined, a dreamy smile spreading over his face. ‘Uh… I should take some pictures of this sometime…’
Miguel grunted, not even really focused on him anymore. All he could sense was you, all he could smell was you. His breedable friend, his baby machine, the foundation of all his pride.
He crawled over and pulled your hips up into doggy before mounting from behind.
‘Now… I’m going to fuck you’ Miguel said, his voice slow and thick. ‘You understand?’
‘Y-Yes’ you whimpered.
‘You want me to fuck you?’
‘Y-Yes…’
‘I’m going to fuck you multiple times. I will ejaculate into you, multiple times. I will not let you lose any of it. You understand this?’
‘Y-Yess…’
‘It’s going to be rough’ he groaned, pressing the tip of his erect cock right against your sodden entrance. ‘Very rough.’
‘Yes…’
‘I will stop. But if you can take it—’
‘I can… take it, please, just… uh… do it’ you moaned.
Miguel sneered with pleasure. His pride bristled, and without wasting another second he spread your cunt with his fingers and shoved his cock inside.
You were winded by the force, and winded a second time by his refusal to start slow. The moment his erection slid up and kissed your cervix he was pumping like mad, grunting like an animal as he thrust his hips back and forth.
You were forced to moan into the sheets as you struggled to maintain any control. He was slipping himself all the way out, so far that only his bulbous member was left to stretch your entrance, before slipping back in within barely a second, stretching you out over and over.
You felt the soft walls stretching, expanding, tensing, and quivering in response to his intrusion, as he made your body his, as he molded you for his purpose.
And he made that purpose clear.
‘Need to… cum… Mmm… need to, fill you… put my baby in here…’
Miguel’s barely coherent grunts filled your ears as he bent your spine and slapped his pelvis into your rear, making the skin hot and raw where he hit it.
‘My… baby…. Mine… m-mine… you’re…. mine…!’
His grunting got wilder, rougher, and between that and your own moaning there was a third voice filling the bedroom. You glanced over, and through the sweaty strands of hair covering your eyes, you saw him.
Peter was watching, as promised, lazily spread out as he stroked and fisted his own cock. It was a gorgeous side, with his pajama pants just down to his thighs and his hand eagerly massaging his member.
And his eyes were fixed on you.
You felt the heat rising in your belly from this, as you were held down and pumped by that enormous, grunting, red-eyed man while his partner watched and stroked himself.
You made eye contact with Peter just for a moment, as he watched your sweaty face taking his partner's load, and with a shuddered groan he came.
You watched his eyes roll back and his lips part as he ejaculated into his own palm. God, what a pretty sight. There was so much of it, thick and slick and glossy in the dim light, coating his fingers and belly. It made you involuntarily clench your cunt around Miguel.
‘Y-You, AH-!’
You squeaked as Miguel groaned, his thrusts getting harder as he also climaxed. You felt his claws digging into your hips as he humped that first load in as deep as he could, ensuring it filled every damn inch of your pussy, smothering the walls until they were practically stuck together.
As he rocked to a halt you took a moment to breathe. There. That was good, he’d done it. And he—
‘Uh- come on!’
You squeaked in shock as Miguel began to rock his hips again, barely a second after he was done ejaculating. He continued to pump just as hard, pushing you face-first into the mattress as sweat flew from his brow.
‘Come on…. Come on…’
It was like a mantra he hissed to himself, as he overrode his brain's desire to rest. There was no rest. There was only breeding. There was only you, and that womb, that he NEEDED to fill.
‘Come on- come on- come on-‘
Your soft cries were barely audible over the creaking of the bed, over the aggressive slap of his pelvis as it thrust and smacked into your rear until it went numb.
‘COME ON- UHN—’
You felt Miguel’s whole body stiffen and release as he pumped that second load in. The hot, thick fluid seeped out and put even more pressure on your insides, forcing those soft muscular walls to strain. You squirmed a little.
‘M-Mmm, mm…’
No, no, you could take it. You could take it.
Miguel paused to grunt, his face now dripping with sweat and his thighs trembling from the pleasure of two ejaculations so close together, but even then he refused to stop.
You could only respond with a squeak as Miguel started pumping you all over again, violently rocking his hips as he pushed through the overstimulation and went for loads three.
‘AH! A-Ah—’
You tugged on the sheets so hard they nearly ripped as he thrust from behind, the smack of his hips letting out a dull, heavy thump that ripped through the room. He was groaning so hard, spitting and hissing involuntarily, his claws digging into your hips as he dragged you back against his cock.
‘Uh- uh- uh- uh- UH- UH- UH- !”
Thrust, after thrust, after mind-numbing thrust, until—
‘ARGH! F-FUCK!’
Miguel cried out weakly as he orgasmed for the third time in a row. He moved primally as he did so, his body bucking despite his exhaustion as he tried to pump it deep. You could only whimper.
You felt this load just like the others, in all of its terrifying potency. That thick, wet, hot seed spilling out and coating you from the inside, pressed right to your cervix with no escape. He was holding you against his pelvis and refusing to pull out, almost like some kind of basic form of knotting.
‘Hey, hey, big guy.’
As Miguel knelt over you, sweating and heaving, his chest dripping and slick, Peter crept up and gently gripped his shoulders.
‘Hey, it’s okay. Take a breather’ he whispered.
‘Need, to… need to, prove…’
Miguel continued slowly rocking his hips, pushing past the overstimulation until his muscles were tensed and aching. He kept moving inside you, squishing until his cum started to slip out, which only drove him more mad.
He moved his hand down and used it to squish the little white drops back inside, all with his fat shaft still impaling you in place. You whimpered at the sudden extra intrusion.
‘Need to… Impregnate.. God, damn it..’
‘Miggy, hey…’ Peter continued stroking Miguel’s forehead as he continued rocking back and forth, pushing you until you whined. The pressure was immense. His cock, three loads
‘Give them a break, then.’
That seemed to snap Miguel out of his trance. He glanced down with those hazy red eyes and he saw you spread out beneath him, trembling from the strain of being taken so many times so fast. He saw the sweat on your skin, the shimmering glow on your skin, and the wetness of your parted lips.
Almost immediately he released his grip.
‘I… Mierda, I’m so sorry—’
‘No, I’m… f-fine…’ you whimpered. ‘I’m, not hurt…’
‘No, but, you are clearly exhausted’ Peter cooed softly. ‘It’s okay. If we really want to try again, we can, just… let’s rest.’
‘But—’
‘I know’ Peter whispered softly, his own melancholy seeping through. ‘I know. You both want this baby. A lot. I know. I want it too. But this isn’t going to change anything. So let’s just, rest for a moment, and go again. Okay?’
At that moment, Peter was the gentle voice of reason for both of you.
Miguel let out a soft grunt, but he did pull out slowly, making sure to keep his fingers and palm stuffed in the little swollen entrance between your thighs to keep his seed safely intact. You allowed your body to collapse into the sheets with a sigh.
His fingers made you jolt and whine on occasion, but, you could handle that.
The three of you lay back and moaned softly, trying to catch your breath, with Peter hugging both of you close.
As Peter held you, you couldn’t help but glance over at Miguel just a little, though you tried to keep your gaze hidden.
You were so confused by the insecurity you’d sensed in him. There was no other way to put it. Before he’d been so confident, so sure, so calm, like he was just messing around, but now… There was an urgency in his movement.
There was a need. That was the best word for it. But, it wasn’t just a need to get you pregnant. Not now.
There was a need to prove himself.

Authors note: I realize that car accidents are pretty much overused these days as far as injuries go, but the only thing that came to mind was poisoning, which didn't fit with your desire for a badly injured reader. Apart from that, reader is one year older than Spencer
⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️ This one-shot includes the topic of a serious accident and blood. The plots are presented. If this triggers you too easily or you just can´t handle the subject, I urge you NOT to read this work. I am NOT embellishing this topic under any circumstance. Read at your own risk.
The rain pounded relentlessly against the windshield, turning the world outside into an endless, gloomy mass of darkness and rushing water. The headlights of Veronica Hastings' car cut through the darkness as she pulled her vehicle into position behind you and followed you while you carefully navigated through the darkness of the deserted highway, battling the heavy rain.
The weekend trip had originally been planned as a relaxing break. An opportunity for Veronica, Spencer and you to get a little distance from the city and all the stress. But now, late at night, the drive back felt anything but relaxing. The clouds were heavy and low, and the incessant lightning flashes kept making the sky glow eerily.
Spencer sat in the passenger seat and stared at the red taillights of your vehicle, which was driving along the road a few meters ahead of them. Veronica gripped the steering wheel tightly and kept glancing anxiously into the distance where she saw the back of your car. "We're almost home," she said, her voice calm but with a hint of tension.
"I can't wait," Spencer answered, her eyes alertly on the red glow of your brake lights. She saw you driving with concentration and caution - as always. "The rain makes driving so nerve-wracking."
"I know, honey," Veronica assured her calmly, her voice soft but focused as she gave her a quick sideways glance, her lips pressed into a thin line. "Just a few more miles and we'll be home."
Then, without warning, bright headlights flared up behind them, blazing so close that they bathed the interior of the car in a blinding light. Spencer turned abruptly in her seat, and saw the large, black SUV coming at them at breakneck speed. It seemed to take up the entire road, and the eerily aggressive sound of the engine cut through the rain.
"What the hell-" Spencer began, but the car was already speeding past them as if propelled by an invisible force. The water splashed across their windshield, leaving them momentarily driving blind. Veronica straightened, her eyes wide with incomprehension.
"Damn, what a mad-" but before she could finish her thought, she and Spencer watched as the SUV pulled dangerously to the right, then there was a violent jolt. The scene played out before their eyes as if someone had slowed down time. Spencer's heart skipped a beat and an ice-cold shiver ran down her spine. She looked at her mother as the SUV rammed the side of your car with full force. The impact was so violent that your car immediately skidded.
"Oh my God!" Spencer screamed, her voice a single, desperate cry as reflexively grabbed the dashboard, watched in shock as you tried to counter-steer the car and even managed to regain control for a moment.
Veronica, her eyes now wide, slammed on the brakes and held the steering wheel with all her strength. Their car skidded across the wet road as they watched in shock. The SUV slammed into your side once more, this time with such force that your car spun, left the lane, and drove into the guardrail that usually separated both lanes.
Your car flipped in the air once, twice, each time with a deafening metallic screech that echoed through the night's thunder. Each impact, each rollover, seemed to stretch time and accelerate it at the same time before you came to a stop on your roof in the oncoming lane. The front of the vehicle was crushed, and the airbag hung out of the shattered driver's side window like a limp white flag of surrender. It was barely recognizable.
It was a surreal moment - the darkness of the night, and the crash of each car part breaking off. Spencer felt her stomach clench as she saw the twisted shape of her your car.
Your mother held her breath and felt an ice-cold shiver run through her body. "Oh my God, no..." she whispered, her voice barely more than a strangled sound. Her heart was racing, her hands were shaking uncontrollably, and for a moment she didn't know what to do as her car came to a stop. It was as if everything had frozen - the sound of the rain, the smoke rising from the hood, the terrible silence that remained after the impact. She couldn't believe what had just happened before her eyes: her eldest daughter, who had just been driving safely ahead of them, was now probably unconscious and possibly seriously injured in a deformed wreck.
Spencer felt horror spreading like a cold mist in her head. Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to rip out of her chest. "Y/n!" she screamed desperately, her voice a pure, trembling scream of terror. She ripped open the passenger door as soon as her mother's car had come to a stop and sprinted into the rain. She had a burning need to reach you.
She hurried through the pouring rain toward the destroyed car that lay in a cloud of smoke in front of her. The rain slapped her face like cold needles, and the headlights of her mother's car cast ghostly light on the wreckage of the accident. The sound of the crunching glass shards under her boots and the constant patter of the rain mixed into an oppressive roar. With every step across the wet asphalt, she felt the urgency growing. Spencer could hear the blood rushing in her ears, and the panic continued to rise within her.
Veronica stared at the scene in front of her, her hands still firmly on the steering wheel. "This can't be true," she whispered, her voice shaky, and she could barely breathe. Her mind refused to process the image - the horrible image that she would never forget.
It took a moment for her to break out of her trance, unbuckling her seatbelt with shaking hands and following Spencer into the rain. "Spencer, be careful! It could be dangerous!" she called, but her voice was choked by the tears that were gathering in her eyes. Everything in her screamed to protect you, to take you in her arms and make everything right again - but in front of her there was only the destroyed wreck and the terrible realization that there was nothing she could do to undo what had happened.
But Spencer did not respond to her mother's call. She felt the adrenaline flooding through her body and she felt an urgent need to rescue you alive while the SUV, that had caused the accident, had already disappeared again, as if it had never existed.
As they got closer, Veronica was the first to notice the extent of the damage in all its horror. The driver's door was dented, the metal bent as if a giant fist had crushed the car. Both could clearly smell the gasoline and smoke, an ominous smell that mixed with the metallic scent of blood. The gasoline dripped involuntarily from the broken tank. "The car could explode!" Veronica warned again, but her voice was so foreign, so full of panic, and she knew that her words had no effect. She herself felt like she was in a nightmare from which she could not wake up.
"We can't just leave her here! We have to get her out before it happens, mom!" Spencer knelt next to the driver's window and peered in. "Y/n! Can you hear me?" Her voice was choked with tears and she knocked on the broken window frame, but there was no answer from you.
Veronica didn't hesitate for a moment and knelt down next to you both, both hands outstretched. The sight that awaited her almost took her breath away: you were hanging motionless upside down in the seat, your head leaning limply to the side, and the light from the headlights fell on your blood-stained hair and face. Veronica could see blood streaking your temples, cheeks and neck, while your breathing was barely noticeable. She could hardly recognize you anymore. "She's unconscious!" she cried out desperately and tried to open the door. She shook it, but it didn't move a millimeter.
Together they pulled at the jammed door until it finally gave way and they got it open. A gust of smoke hit them, and Spencer coughed as she immediately set about freeing you from the seat. Her hands were cut by the shards of glass, and her breathing was in gasps, but she didn't feel the pain. Even though every breath felt like a stab to her heart, she would never leave you behind.
"Y/n, please.." Spencer begged, her voice choked with fear. She gave in as her mother gently pushed her aside and moved to free you. So without hesitation, Spencer reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out her phone, her shaking fingers on the screen as she dialed 911. "Come on, come on.." she whispered, her hands slick with blood and rain. She struggled to hold the device steady enough to type in the right number. The connection was established, and she waited, her heart racing as her hand reached for yours.
Veronica leaned deeper into the wrecked car, the smoke and metallic smell of blood and gasoline now stinging her nose even more. "Y/n, my love. Can you hear me? Please, wake up. We're here. I'm here, sweetheart.." Her voice broke off as she tried to pull you out of the seat, but the belt had wrapped itself tightly around your body and wouldn't come off. Her hands slid over the blood-stained fabric of your shirt as she tried to loosen the belt, but her own fingers were shaking so much that it seemed impossible. "Please, wake up.." she whispered, tears mixing with the rain running down her face.
Spencer was now speaking frantically into the phone, her voice anxious and fluttering. "My sister had an accident. She is unconscious and seriously injured, please send an ambulance and the fire department immediately! The car is upside down and gasoline is leaking!" she screamed into the line. "We're on the highway toward Rosewood," she hesitated, trying to remember a precise description, but her eyes were glued to you, and the world around her seemed to blur. She felt desperation gripping her like an icy grip. The operator on the other end spoke soothingly to her, promising to send help, but the minutes seemed to stretch on endlessly as the rain pounded harder and harder against them.
Veronica desperately tried to pull on the belt, trying to free you from the vehicle. She felt your cold skin beneath her fingertips, felt her own trembling and the weight of fear settling on her chest. "Come on, come on, baby... stay with us," she pleaded, trying to pull the belt through with all her strength, ignoring her own exhaustion. It was as if time was passing at an agonizing slowness.
Suddenly Spencer's phone vibrated in her hand and for a moment she was confused. Who could be writing to her at this moment? But when she read the message, her blood froze in her veins. The words glowed at her: "See what happens if you're not careful? This time it was just a warning."
Her fingers froze and for a moment everything around her was silent. Everything disappeared in that terrible, icy moment as the reality of the message sank into her consciousness. "A." Spencer felt the ground beneath her knees threatening to give way, despair mixing with a terrible feeling of helplessness. This was no accident. "A" had struck again and this time he was directly after you.
"Spencer, what's wrong?" Veronica called without looking up as she continued to struggle to unbuckle the belt and free you. Spencer blinked, shook herself out of her trance and put the phone away. "It's... it's nothing," she lied with a trembling voice, her hands reaching for the belt, struggling with the metal clip that had bent and was holding you in the seat.
"Spencer, I need your help now, we have to get her out of there," your mother said with determination. She sounded so motherly, so protective, that it almost broke Spencer's heart. She looked into the eyes of her mother, who knew nothing about "A," who just wanted to save her daughter at that moment.
Spencer fought to stay calm, her eyes burning with tears. "I'm here Mom, what should I do?" she continued shortly after, waiting for further instructions from her mother. "I'm going to get her out of there now. You have to support her head as soon as I move her, okay?"
Together they finally managed to unbuckle the belt. They both carefully pulled you out of the wrecked car, their movements slow and controlled so as not to cause any further injuries. Spencer felt more warm blood on her hands as she pulled you out of the wreckage. "We'll get through this, we'll get through this," she whispered, both to herself and to Veronica.
The cold of the rain crept through both of their clothes, but that didn't matter. All Veronica felt was the paralyzing fear for her child. "Stay with us, baby..." she whispered to you as she held back more tears of despair and laid you gently on the wet asphalt, her hands still shaking, and she stroked your hair, which was soaked by the rain and matted with blood, tensely. "Spencer, she looks so bad."
"She's still breathing, Mom. That's a good sign," she said carefully, examining your limp and heavy body. Your face was pale and blood dripped from a deep wound on the back of your head and forehead. Your breathing became shallower with every second.
"You are strong, honey, we are here... we won't leave you alone," your mother said as her tears melted into the rain.
Spencer heard the sirens of the approaching ambulance in the distance, but the words of the message echoed in her head. She could hardly breathe as the realization slowly cut through her chest like a sharp pain. "A" had put you in this situation and now you were lying on her lap, bleeding.
Spencer looked at her mother, who was waiting for the emergency services to arrive with panic in her eyes, completely unaware that this was all no accident. "Mom..." Spencer said, her voice shaking, and she looked at her mother. But Veronica knew nothing about "A" and the dark power that was descending upon her family.
Spencer felt the chill of realization run through her body and Veronica saw the look on her face and knew something was wrong, but she couldn't form the words. All she could do was hold her older daughter's hand and pray that the ambulance would arrive in time.
Spencer felt weak and lost like never before. The uncertainty of whether you would survive never left her. She knew this was just the beginning of a new nightmare. "A" continued to play with them, and her sister was paying the price.

Hello, Stranger - Shinichiro Sano
Content: Cheesy fluff
Tropes: fated ironical meeting
Warnings: none (?)
Summary: how the two of you met, once upon a closing-hour...
Vixen's two cents: I can't believe that it taken me so long to write a cheesy first meetings scene! anyway I love Shinichiro so have yet another fit about him whilst other characters rot in the background (I swear I wanna write for everyone). if you have any ideas (I kinda ran out rn) please send me an ask: REQUESTS ARE OPEN. yes, thats all and now enjoyyyy!!!!!
You had just recently bought out a shop, a quaint little thing that was akin to the one you would dream of when you were a little girl. It didn’t take long for you to become acquainted to the space over the holiday-period, which allowed you to get used to the space without the hassle of customers just yet. When however the first opening day comes and goes, you’re left tired and exhausted by the end of it. Business had been unexpectedly good, lots of people trickling in to visit the new coffee and cake shop.
You were just about done checking that every candle was extinguished, all the power was off but the coolers were still running, and that all the doors were locked when you stumble across a door you‘ve never seen before. It looks just like the rest of the installed doors, maybe a bit aged, but nothing out of the ordinary. The only issue was that you doesn’t remember this being part of the tour that you had been given when buying the shop.
A bit confused you go to get the big bundle of keys that you were given for „all the doors“ (whatever that meant now), and start fumbling with key by key to try and unlock that door. One after another key clinks unsuccessfully, but your hope to find out whats behind the mystery door stays strong.
Shinichiro was just about done for today, having thrown the towel when he couldn’t distinguish a nut from a bolt anymore, his vision swimming slightly. He was standing over the counter, checking things and notes off of his schedule and to do list, and writing up a new one for tomorrow. He‘s trying to focus, trying to remember what that one stupid saddle leather color was called that he had to order and eventually replace, when his ears caught some rather startling noises- keys rattling.
It was coming from a side door he was told was unusable by the previous shop owners when they sold the place to him. Due to an unfortunate run-in with Mikey’s little idiot friends some years ago, Shinichiro is quick to close the schedule, assuming that it must be thieves or burglars. He crosses the shop towards the door, grabbing a spare wrench from a nearby work-bench as arms and stalks towards the door, anticipating the worst.
You’re beyond frustrated at this point. What are the odds of choosing all the wrong keys in the way-too-big keychain consecutively? You glared down at the last possible key, hoping that just for the sake of your sanity this one would give way to what’s on the other side of that door. You don’t even care all that much anymore about what you’ll find, what’s important right now is that you can get the satisfaction of unlocking the mystery lock.
You take a deep breath and glance down at the key, pushing it into the lock and… it gives way. The key fits right in, and with a quick twist of your wrist you feel the lock click and open, and you feel yourself smile just a bit in victory.
Confident, you push open the door, but the smile upon your face drops fast when you hear a fierce yell, and duck instinctively when something comes flying your way. Your keychain goes flying out of your hands, skidding a few good meters across the floor and into the next, now open, room, right towards the stranger who attacked you with… a wrench?
Shinichiro looks down towards the target with wide, furious eyes, nostrils flared, ready to fight tooth and nail for his shop when he looks down at the 'threat' and realises that... youre not.... you dont look like... wait… aren’t you?? you’re...?!
that cute cafe owner from next door!
Shinichiro's eyes soften as he looks down at you, frozen in time and place for a few seconds, his voice stuck in his throat as he tries to process the situation. Once he found his voice again, he started sputtering apologies.
"Oh my god im so sorry, damn I didn't realise that - you know! fuck are you hurt? you've got great reflexes!" he apologetically rambles as he looks across the floor, trying to find the keys he heard drop. He's stumbling over his words, not really making any sense at all, a bit too caught up in trying to find those goddamned keys! to realize that your shock has worn off by now.
You're still sitting squat on the floor from how you'd dodged and fallen, softly giggling to yourself, both at the absurdity of the situation as well as his still constant muttering. Once his eyes catch the target, right beside his foot, he's scrambling to pick the jingling bundle up.
He straighents himself again, a little too quick and Shinichiro's world spins before his eyes as a painful crack! sounds from his back, causing your giggle to turn into a full laugh. Finally, he notices that youre not cursing him out, or mad, or anything like that. Quite the opposite, he thinks as his gaze traces your smiling lips, ears tingling at your cherry laugh. The merry noise makes his own lips curl up, and for a moment he forgets what he's doing.
"You’re ok." your voice is still shaky with laughter as you wipe tiny tears from your eyes, but it snapped him out of his little daze. "Right, uh, no not really you could have gotten really hurt." he says incessantly, stepping closer to you to hand you back the keys.
You only shake your head and smile at him though, reaching out to take the keys from him. He obliges, holding them out to you and he's about to apologise again when he feels your hand brush his.
It's only a short little moment, just a small caress of your much softer hands against his, but it causes his cheeks to tinge with warmth, and he feels his stomach burst with tiny little electric tingles, and then all of a sudden everything is spinning again, and he thinks he might throw up again because he's staring again, damnit!
"I- uh..." he tries to start, but you take the words out of his mouth when you smile up at him. "You know you've gotta let the keys go for me to take 'em... right?"
This time, Shinichiro feels his whole head go uncomfortably warm, and his heart feels like it's pounding out of his chest. "Sorry." he manages to blurt out, letting go of the keys but keeping his hand outstretched. "Lemme help you up?"
You pocket the huge keyring before wordlessly agreeing to his bid, taking his hand and letting him pull you to a stand. Shinichiro's breath hitches when the scent of your perfume wash over him, and he feels his mouth move before he can think of what he's saying. "Erm.. sorry but, you felt that too, right?"

[Shigaraki Tomura x Fem!Reader]
➨ Prologue
Next: Chapter 1
Premise:
The multiverse theory is the idea that there is not only one universe but, instead, an infinite number of universes, parallel to one another.
You and Tenko were heroes in your universe. The war came and went, and that left only you. When you are thrown into a universe parallel to yours, you find out the hard way just how similar and different it is from your own.
A/N: Basically, hero!reader x villain!Shigaraki. I'm still in denial about Chapter 423. Who is she? I don't know her. Anyways, quick disclaimer that the beginning of this story reflects the inner turmoil Horikoshi has caused me. That being said, godspeed, Soldier.
If you'd prefer to read on Ao3, here is the link:
Otherwise, enjoy!

PROLOGUE
Was that refrigerator always there?
Falling from the sky?
Barreling right for you?
No. No it wasn’t.
You threw yourself to the side just in time for the massive hunk of metal to crash into the pavement where you had been standing. As you released an exasperated breath, you noticed a glint from the corner of your eye. It was a set of kitchen knives flying through the air at an alarming speed.
Their path also appeared to overlap with the space you were occupying. This time, the predicted points of contact were varied and too spread out for you to avoid. They were only a few inches away from impaling you when they stopped midair.
You sighed. Times like these, your quirk really was a blessing. It got the name ‘freeze frame’ once you’d enrolled in UA, but you always felt the name was a bit dramatic. Your quirk allowed you to freeze any nonliving thing within a sphere less than 40 feet in diameter.
You released the blades as you shakily got back on your feet, the metal ringing out as the knives fell against the pavement. Looking around, you couldn’t see the villain your team had been called out to address. However, the yelling and loud crashing coming from a few streets over gave you a pretty good idea of where you could find him.
Your agency had received a number of reports describing a funny-looking man downtown who was materializing kitchen appliances out of thin air. All the while, items being sold at several stores around the area were mysteriously vanishing.
The man himself was just as perplexing. He had a gray buzzcut as well as a long swirly mustache, and he donned what looked like an outfit suited for a medieval jester. Appearances aside, he would be sighted at one location just to disappear and be spotted several blocks down only moments later.
Your team went in under the assumption that he had a teleportation-type quirk.
As soon as you had arrived on the scene, items were being hurled at you left and right. All the while, your coworkers were able to engage the man relatively unimpeded. His ability to pop in and out of existence however he pleased made it difficult for anyone to land a blow or immobilize him.
Your quirk was your best bet at containing him. He seemed to know that as well, keeping you too busy playing professional high-risk dodgeball to do anything.
However, now that you were out of his line of sight, you were relieved of the tiring onslaught of potentially deadly blows. Brushing yourself off, you wasted no time rushing back into the battle, cutting through an alley to the other side of the block in hopes of catching it in time.
You could already see some of the chaos in action as you exited the alleyway, culinary equipment flying through the air accompanied by an occasional shout. As you were about to rush back into the fray, you were forced to skid to a halt.
The man of the hour had materialized just a few meters ahead of you.
On instinct, your arm jerked forward, aiming an open palm in his direction. By the time he noticed you, it was too late. A translucent sphere shot from your hand and expanded to encapsulate him. It appeared as though he was about to clap his hands together, but his clothing froze his arms in place before they could make contact. His face twisted into a scowl.
Your chest swelled with accomplishment as a prideful grin forced its way onto your lips. It had been quite a while since you’d gotten so frustrated over a villain encounter, and finally putting a stop to his nonsense was satisfying.
Walking forward, you reached behind your back to unlatch a pair of quirk nullifying restraints from your belt. You had a plethora of equipment strapped all over your body in order to be prepared for whatever you were called in to address. Most was for rescue assignments, as that was an area your agency excelled at, but you also had to be ready for the occasional villain encounter here and there.
You entered the sphere you’d created to secure the restraints around the man’s forearms. Though nonliving objects within the sphere were frozen, anything new entering it would be unaffected.
Electrical tethers emitted from either wristband, latching onto the other. When you released your quirk, the sphere dissipated and the tethers jerked the villain’s arms together. By design, however, they maintained roughly half a foot between his wrists.
The police rushed to surround the both of you. A few grabbed hold of the villain, dragging him to the cop cars parked down the road, while two others pulled you aside so you could debrief them on the situation. You shared whatever information you had, and as they walked away, a new, unfamiliar figure was bounding up to you.
Their skin and clothing appeared as if it were melting and being sloughed off. You scrambled to remove a large piece of fabric you always had secured to your back and threw it over your friend before she was rendered nude to the world. You’d used to wear three or four at a time when going out on rescues, and it made you look as if you were wearing a ton of capes, trying to be dramatic. However, they served a very real purpose—
Well.
They used to.
Nowadays, you only needed to wear one. Afterall, somebody had to preserve your friend’s modesty.
“Hah…Finally!” Toga sang, enveloping herself in the fabric as the last bits of her disguise washed away. Her blonde space buns looked as if they had just been done up a few minutes ago. Their perfectly put together appearance did not reflect the fact that she had been relentlessly duking it out for the last half hour. “I was beginning to think we had no chance of catching him.”
You glanced over at the car the villain was forced into, and the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. It was a ways away, but you could just barely make out his face behind the shrouded glass, staring unblinkingly at you.
It wasn’t unusual to have a few glares thrown your way after apprehending a suspect or villain, but for some reason, his gaze sent an ice-cold wave of discomfort through your body. The frigid rain drops that had begun to land on your bare skin only amplified the unsettling feeling.
You thought the weather called for clear skies, but it was completely overcast.
Forcing your eyes away, you sent a soft smile to the girl beside you. “You know I wouldn’t let that happen on our last assignment together.”
Toga’s blissful expression fell.
“I’m sorry I didn’t let you get the last move in,” you chuckled in an attempt to delay what you knew would be a difficult conversation.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way…” she hummed, looking down as the skin under her eyes as well as the tip of her nose began to flush, “I’m gonna miss you always being there to save the day.”
Your dear friend was moving on from your agency to a much larger hero organization. After the war, several countries agreed to band together to create a group of stellar heroes who would tend to assignments all over the world. The position was offered only to the best of the best or to those with particularly useful quirks–the selected few would receive private training as preparation for the jobs to come. It was no surprise to anyone that they reached out to Toga, impressed by her skill and versatility.
Many aspects of her new job would be confidential–which you could understand–and communication with those outside the organization would be extremely limited. So although you were elated about the news, you were also understandably upset.
Her hair tickled against your cheek as you pulled her into a hug. “Give yourself more credit. I’d never be able to pull anything off if it weren’t for you always setting me up for success.”
She wrapped her arms around you and pressed her cheek against yours. Her skin was  mostly cold and wet from the rain but there were also warm tears intermingling with everything else. You could feel your eyes starting to burn and glaze over.
“You’re going to be amazing,” you murmured.
You felt her nod, and the two of you held each other for a while before she finally pulled away, the redness in her face dissipating. She puffed up her chest and gifted you another one of her signature smiles.
“I’m ready,” she said.
You nodded with taught lips.
She took her leave, waving a hand with a fistful of the fabric you’d wrapped around her. “I’m keeping this by the way!”
You choked out a laugh.
You were happy for her. Really you were. She was only a year younger than you, and she had stuck by your side through the majority of your high school years, following you to the agency you worked at now. You two had worked together for almost the entirety of your hero careers.
Working without her by your side would be a difficult adjustment. Recently, there were many aspects of your life that changed in ways you weren’t too fond of. As a result, you were beginning to grow used to having to adapt to such undesirable circumstances.
But this was good for her. She could start a new chapter in her life, and leave behind the dark stain the war had left on you both. She was still young, and there was so much left for her to work towards. Her new position would be perfect for setting her in the right direction.
You, however, had become far too attached to the life you had before. The relationships and dreams you held dear were wrenched away, leaving you grasping for empty air. Whether it was due to unwillingness or lack of energy, you couldn’t find it in you to rebuild what you had lost.
“Goodbye, Toga. I’m gonna miss you.” Your arms hung at your sides as you fought to retain a smile that felt too heavy for your face.
She turned to look back at you over her shoulder as she trotted away, her eyes squinted from her abnormally large grin. “I’m gonna miss you, too! Make sure to take good care of yourself!”
Of course. That was no challenge for you.
Your definition of ‘taking care’ was akin to tending to a houseplant or a pet hamster. You made sure you’d eat and drink water. You spent more than enough time sleeping. And you settled on hero work as your preferred form of enrichment.
A couple years ago, it would have been something like video games or training. Maybe it would be those rare but oh-so-joyful nights where the whole agency would go out to celebrate a promotion or someone rising up the hero ranking.
A couple years ago, you wouldn’t have to worry about taking care of yourself. If you didn’t, one of your friends would be on you in a heartbeat, nagging at you to get your shit together. Spinner and Toga would snitch to Magne, and she’d waste no time in hunting you down.
A couple years ago, you were in the midst of a war between heroes and villains. You had full faith in yourself as well as your allies that you’d all save the country, if not the world, and live to tell the tale.
That faith was only proven true for a few of you.

Note
hi love, can you write something about charles having an accident in the race and the readers there in the paddock, nobody knows how he is while they wait for the ambulance, and she just stands there in shock and cries a litte..
A/n: thank you so much for this request, sorry it took so long 🫶🏎
TW: car accident
Tumblr media
"Je t'aime" i love you, those were his last words to you, you were too busy answering a question from Pascale to even process what he had said and when you turned around to say you loved him too, he was already in his car, ready to race.
For you, the silence was the worst part. The silence on the radio after his car hit the barriers. The silence on the garage, everyone looking at the small TV, hoping to see anything, any movement from his part.
Your brain was registering every single detail, trying to see if anything moved, if anything changed.
You saw Max stopping his car and getting out of it, running towards where the Ferrari with the number 16 on it was. Pascale was, like you, looking at the TV and crying, Lorenzo trying to calm her down. And you, you were just staying there, not being able to move, barely able to breathe.
Time was going by too slowly, you tried your best not to cry, but tears were rolling down your cheeks.
Everything happened so slow and so fast at the same time. He was leading the race, doing an amazing job, you couldn't be prouder. That was, until you heard him on the radio, saying something about his breaks feeling weird, but you thought it was nothing, like had been nothing plenty of other times before. You were wrong, one more turn and everything became a mess. His car didn't slow down, the turn making him spin around. The car flipped and skidded for a few meters before hitting the barriers.
Your heart stopped beating for a second, and then it beat too fast. You heard the radio of Fred asking him if was okay, no answer.
He asked again, and again, there was no answer.
You saw people coming to help while max did too, and yet he never moved. Every car got back to their garage, but the one car you wish it did, didn't.
You saw an ambulance going on track, yet you saw nothing more because the cameras didn't film that. You were thankful yet petrified at the same time because you couldn't see anything.
Moments had passed and Fred came to say what hospital they were taking him to and that the only thing he knew was that he was alive. Lorenzo drove you and Pascale to the hospital and went to grab a bag of clothes for Charles.
You were sitted in a chair in the waiting room when Pascale sat down next to you, embracing you. "How are you sweetie? I was so focused on charles I forgot to take care of you too"
"Oh, you don't need to take care of me Pascale, really, thank you though. It's just...the last thing he told me was that he loved me and I was so stupid, I didn't say it back" tears started to fall down your cheeks again, and she made sure to quickly dry them
"Oh, ma chéri, don't worry, he knows it. You will see, he'll be okay and you'll get to tell him that as many times as you want"
You were about to speak as a doctor came to both of you, asking if you were charles family, you both nodded and gave a sigh of relief when the doctor told you charles wasn't conscious earlier to the head trauma, but that he was okay, he only had some broken ribs and a sprained wrist.
Pascale hugged you tight and asked the doctor when could you see him. You thanked the man after he said you could go see him now.
"Well, what are you waiting for, go see him" she said a gave you a slight pat in the back
"No, you should go first, he's your son"
"He's my son, but I know he'll want to see you there when he wakes up" you asked once again if she was sure and headed towards the room the doctor had said to be his.
"Hey" you said as you sat down on a chair next to his bed, grabbing his hand and kissing his knuckles. "I know I didn't get to say it earlier, but I love you too, so much. Please, never ever do that to me again."
"Don't worry, I don't plan on doing it again" he said as he opened his eyes softly, clutching to your hand, vision still blurry and voice kinda rough from just waking up.
"Charles, hi, you woke up, I should call someone" you got up but he pulled your hand.
"I just want some time alone with you now, please, mon amour" you sat again and put you hand on his jaw, cupping slightly.
"I thought I wouldn't see you again" you said, tears forming in your eyes once again, but Charles raised his hand and wiped them.
"You won't get rid of me that easily, don't worry"
"Don't joke, it's not funny. I'm gonna call your mom, she wants to see you" you got up, but this time he didn't stop you, letting go of your hand softly
"Oh, my sweet boy, how are you feeling"
"I'll be fine, don't worry, maman"
"I'll always worry, so will she" she pointed at you "if you ever do that again, I think we will both have a heart attack"
"Oh, for sure" you said softly looking at both charles and his mom
"I'll let you two alone, I'll be outside if you need me" and with that, she left, only you and Charles in the room now.
"Come here" he patted on the small place next to him in bed "I miss you"
"No, you have to rest, I'll sit here, right next to you" you pointed at the empty chair placed next to the bed
"No, lay down with me, s'il te plaît" please
"Fine, but let me know if I hurt you" you climbed onto the bed next to him and he placed an arm around your neck, fingers brushing your hair softly "never do that yo me again, ever"
"Don't worry, I won't ever leave you" he kissed the top of your head and kept brushing your hair.
He watched as your eyes started to close and your breath became slower, and you fell asleep right there, in the arms of the man you loved and couldn't live without"

Mission failed ✧
Tumblr media
Plot: You’re about to die… when your captain come to save you.
A/N: this one’s more angsty (or sad) than fluff. Tw! (maybe?)
Tumblr media
The sickening crack of splintered bones and rending flesh assaulted your ears as another agonized scream tore through the chaos.
Your heart pounded a staccato rhythm of pure, unadulterated terror against your ribcage.
This wasn't how the latest expedition beyond the walls was supposed to go.
Trees and debris whipped past in a dizzying blur as your frantic horse thundered over uneven terrain, hooves scrambling for purchase against the blood-slicked earth.
Titans unlike anything you'd ever witnessed surged from every direction in nightmarish droves, effortlessly plucking your fellow Scout comrades from their saddles.
Mouths agape and eyes blank with rapturous hunger, the grotesque beasts shoved weeping, thrashing bodies between their massive jaws without a shred of mercy.
Eren, Mikasa, Armin and the others were all seasoned soldiers despite their youth. Yet even they scattered like skittish deer, screams of panic and rallying cries dissolving into gurgled, sputtering wheezes as Titans swarmed unchecked.
You were older than the 104th cadets under your command but felt just as paralyzed by the overwhelming dread locking your muscles.
Focus. You had to focus.
Fight or flee - those were the only choices when staring down oblivion itself.
Head whipping back, you instinctively yanked brutally on the reins, guiding your steed away from the crush of menacing footfalls.
Evading took priority right now; you could regroup and mount a counterattack later from a safer vantage point.
At least...that had been the plan until a towering twenty meter Class abruptly materialized directly in your path.
The sheer enormity of its hulking, naked form loomed nightmarishly close as your steed skidded to a complete stop, whinnying shrilly in terror.
You didn't even have a chance to react before the jarring impact flung you clear of the saddle, tumbling painfully across the dirt and brambles with the wind knocked clear from your lungs.
Choking on a mouthful of grass and grit, you managed to surge up onto your elbows just as the Titan slowly swiveled its tremendous head to fix those empty, predatory orbs on your prone, defenseless form.
Its jaw unhinged with a wet squelch, an avalanche of putrid saliva raining across your petrified body.
This was it.
This was how your story would end - filthy, broken, unmemorable. Just another insignificant speck of flesh swallowed into the gaping maw of humanity's greatest nightmare.
You cringed back helplessly, tearless sobs of pure distilled terror shredding your ravaged throat.
A blur of verdant green and stark white erupted past your periphery just as those slavering jaws began to descend with ponderous, gnashing intent.
The whisper-sharp slice of twin blades bisecting flesh registered a heartbeat later, followed by the earth-quaking crash of thirty meters of ruined Titan crashing to the dirt a hair's breadth from your shuddering body.
The impact sprayed the air with scarlet droplets, coating your contorted, shielding face in viscous streaks of gore.
You flinched violently on instinct, expecting to be pulverized beneath the catastrophic bulk.
Yet something much more slender and decidedly humanoid collided into you instead.
Powerful arms looped around your torso, rolling you clear of the plummeting wreckage in a whirl of dust and grass that stung your eyes.
Tucking your head into the crook of one elbow for protection, your unexpected savior cradled you securely against their chest through the tumult.
Only after the tremors and choking debris cleared could you summon the courage to squint one eye open...directly into the death-carved glare of your steely-eyed captain, Levi Ackerman himself.
That perpetual scowl etched deep grooves in his chiseled features.
You'd always walked on eggshells around the infamous Capitan, whose fierceness and ruthless skill in combat garnered respect and fear in equal doses.
He didn't suffer fools gladly and made it his personal mission to ride your ass harder than anyone else's.
Extra chores, grueling training regimens, cutting reprimands met with stony silence.
You'd lost track of how many times you fantasized about telling that smug bastard to shove his superiority complex up his tight little ass.
But in that moment, shaken to your core from brushing the very precipice of death itself, all you could do was gawp mutely at his frigid countenance hovering inches away.
With a barely perceptible curl of disgust twisting his thin lips, Levi abruptly shoved you off his lap and surged to his feet in one fluid, leonine motion. Blades already slung across his back, he extended one calloused hand downwards with a scathing glare.
"On your feet, soldier," that trademark rasp grated against your frayed nerves.
You scrambled upright without accepting his offered hand, legs wobbling precariously beneath you.
Head swiveling wildly, you absorbed the full scale of the massacre unfolding amidst the trees - scattered corpses both human and Titan alike peppered the gnarled earth, limbs and entrails intermingling into a perverse tapestry of viscera.
Your lungs burned like every inhale seared them raw, ragged gasps the only sound escaping past the lump of panic lodged in your throat.
Too many...there were just too many...
"Do I need to spell it out for you?" Levi's acid tone sliced through your dazed spiral with ruthless efficiency.
"Or are you just going to keep gawking around like a useless sack of shit while our comrades are being slaughtered?"
Your gaze snapped to his, a spark of fury momentarily replacing the shock and dread paralyzing your muscles.
Levi was right.
You'd lost yourself in the horror - even as a seasoned Scout, you'd faltered utterly.
But the way he laid into you, insinuating your weakness or damnwell demanding you simply buck up and ignore the piles of mangled humans around you...it ignited a surging, blinding rage that clawed its way up your raw gullet.
"What do you want from me!?" you snarled, whirling to face the diminutive man fully.
Every gaunt, bloodstained inch of him radiated pugilistic menace yet you found yourself unable to choke back the scalding tirade boiling over your lips.
"Your harsh, bullshit demands? Your callous disregard for this unmitigated massacre around us!? You think I wanted this mission to go so horrifically sideways!? You think I wanted to watch my brothers and sisters being ripped apart and devoured while doing nothing!?"
Levi's hooded gaze flashed dangerously, lips peeling back from his teeth in a bestial sneer as he took an aggressive step into your personal space.
"Then pull your shit together and stop crying, soldier! If I hadn't come along, your blood would already be mingling with all the rest of the worthless scum smeared into these trees! At least die with a little goddamn honor instead of pissing yourself in abject terror!"
Your face twisted with mingled rage and disgust, shaking your head vehemently as angry tears stung your eyes.
"Honor? You're one to talk! Why bother swooping in to save my wretched ass if all I am to you is some useless sack of - "
With a snarl of fury, Levi seized a fistful of your shirt, actually hauling your boots off the ground to crash his forehead viciously against yours.
His granite eyes bored into you with volcanic force from mere inches away, noses practically brushing as he spat out each vitriolic word with undisguised venom.
"Because we're abandoning this shit-show on Commander Smith's orders. Now. So you can sit here bawling about honor and sacrifice or you can follow me out so I don't have to waste any more of my time and effort fishing your pathetic ass out of yet another self-inflicted mess."
You could only blink owlishly, momentarily stunned into silence by the sheer intensity radiating from your captain's diminutive form, when he sneered a final parting shot before wrenching free and firing his ODM gear skyward.
"I'd leave you to the Titans, but it'd be a fucking waste..."
His cape snapped sharply as Levi dissolved through the canopy, undoubtedly charging ahead to rendezvous with the other squads relaying Erwin's orders.
You stood there, chest still heaving with a volatile mixture of anger, fear, and a confusing tangle of other raw emotions in the wake of Captain Levi's harsh departure.
The sounds of battle raged on around you - thunderous footfalls, agonized screams abruptly silenced, the meaty thud of Titan flesh hitting the ground.
Yet it all seemed muffled and distant compared to the singular thought ricocheting through your skull with mounting urgency.
What the everloving fuck was that about?
Sure, you expected the kind of unforgiving, ruthless dressing down Levi was notorious for dishing out even in the direst situations.
The man operated on a whole other plane of pragmatic brutality where coddling weakness simply wasn't part of his DNA. But the vicious intensity behind those final remarks before he fired off left you utterly at a loss.
There was clearly far more bubbling beneath the surface than his usual contemptuous dismissal of your perceived failures.
For a disorienting instant, you could've sworn Levi seemed almost...protective? Possessive, even?
Over you and your well-being amidst this fresh hell?
The idea alone ignited a dizzying swirl of conflicting reactions. A derisive scoff quickly smothered by something suspiciously close to... Anticipation? Curiosity?
You clenched your jaw, shoving those dangerous speculations aside as another anguished yell pierced the cacophony nearby.
There'd be time to untangle the complexity of whatever the fuck was brewing between you and your rigid, aloof superior later.
Assuming you both survived this near-apocalyptic shitshow first.
One deep, steadying exhale later, you snatched the reins of your skittish mount and lithely vaulted into the saddle with a grunt of effort.
Scouring the surrounding chaos, you quickly oriented yourself towards the shattered line where surviving soldiers were beginning to disengage under the cover of thick black smoke billowing across the field.
With a sharp kick of your heels, you urged your steed into a gallop, blades gripped tightly as you careened towards the retreat.
Whatever reservations or bitter confusion lingered, you shoved it all down in service of this singular goal - escape this living nightmare.
Just keep moving, keep fighting to see tomorrow.
Everything else could be dealt with once you saw daylight again.
Maybe then, you could finally decipher the tangled mess of what that last exchange with Levi truly ignited within you.
No matter how much you desperately wished you could ignore it.
