Greys Anatomy AU Lexie x Lena

Lena learns about Lexie's drunk dad one night, and does the Karev thing of helping keep him from driving. But when he shows up at the hospital demanding his daughter treat him, and it ends up being Lena who treats him while Meredith just observes and keeps him entertained. And then he starts talking trash about Lexie as a way to flatter Meredith, Lena snaps and says something searingly astute about his qualities as a father.

Meredith scolds her after, citing professionalism etc, only for Lena to scoff and roll her eyes.

"You're right," she drawls. "I shouldn't have said anything. His *daughter* should have. But it looked like *she* was too busy preening."

Meredith is dumbstruck, unable to find a rebuttal. As Lena saunters away, she turns back with a peeved glare.

"And you know," she snarls, "it might be a little less pathetic if he wasn't only that affectionate when he's drunk."

Lexie overhears the interaction from around the corner, and Lena is so steamed she blows past the junction without noticing her. It gives Lexie the time and space to recover from hearing her father compare her to Meredith, and later, at the end of their shift, they end up in the elevator together.

"Hey," Lena says, shooting a glance towards Lexie. She's still tense from the day, doing her best not to scowl.

"Hey," Lexie returns. She shifts uneasily, staring at her feet. "I, uh..." she clears her throat. "I heard what you said."

"I've said a lot of things today."

"To my sister."

At this, Lena does scowl, and she turns sharply towards Lexie. "She's not your sister," she clips out sharply. "A sister to bat for you, protects you. A *sister* doesn't let anyone talk shit about their siblings, even if it's their fucking asshole father--"

Lexie pivots, grips Lena by the lapels of her coat and pulls her into a searing kiss. Lena's irritation swiftly melts away, and she steps into the kiss, moving further into Lexie's space until they're up against the wall of the elevator.

When the doors open with a ding, Lena pulls back with a lazy smile. "My place?"

Lexie breathlessly nods.

"Abso-fucken-lutely."

I will never make this because it would be for an audience of one (me) but ever since reading "If we Were Villains" (story about serious drama kids in college who perform shakespeare and deal with a murder) I have been entertaining the thought of a crack fic crossover with High School Musical The Musical The Series where the staff decides they will no longer put on shakespeare after the tragic accident that happened at Thanksgiving, because Shakespeare plays would only increase the tension and drama. So they hire Ms. Jen who decides their spring play will actually be High School Musical (which exists in the 90s in this universe) and it ruins the vibe so much that everyone gives up on being dark and mysterious because they're universally pissed at Ms Jen for making them learn choreoraphed basketball dancing.

Meredith has a grey Percheron-crossbred mare that she acquired with her position as Knight-Commander. Her name is Antonia, and she stands about 18.1hh. The reason she was given to Meredith by the stablemaster was in part, because she had yet to get along well with her previous riders, barely listening to cues and taking every opportunity to kick or bite them when on foot.

Meredith is, more or less, a bonafide horse girl, and has been a natural at riding since her youth. It took the stablemaster by surprise when the newly minted Knight-Commander came to the Templar stables, and took to the mare right away, shocking him and everyone else around him when she went in to the stall with her, and didn't receive a negative reaction from Antonia.

The two soon developed a bond, and while Meredith does not often take rides away from Kirkwall, she has taken her to Orlais and back at least once a year to Val Royeaux, and has never once been let down by her steed.

While seldom few have seen how Meredith treats her horse (with the utmost kindness and a gentle hand on the reins), they assume that her horse is just an embodiment of her, and inherently evil, but really, she's just a mare.

i'll say it. i'm a lexie grey stan and i like sl*xie okay but they had a lot of the same problems m*rder (another ship i'm fine with but don't adore and have Things To Say about) + Some Other Stuff without ever really getting to resolve any of it. also i hate that her last season story arc was almost exclusively about her pining after him and then she died.

Bug popped into 8 Bells for the first time since moving to town. He was a little surprised by some of the decor but it makes sense once you actually get inside.

He changed his mind about hanging out at the bar.

[Meredith] "Oh my! You look fun." [Bug] "Thank you!" [Meredith] "My name is Meredith. I know everyone in town, but I've never seen you before. What's your name? Where're you from? Are you just passing though? I adore what you've done with your hair."

Bug was so shocked and excited to talk about himself that he didn't even know where to start.

My watch of Greys Anatomy has sort of paused, but I'm still thinking about my Lena/Lexie AU. For example, what happens when renowned surgeon Lillian Luthor shows up as a potential new hire for Seattle Grace?

None of the doctors or interns recognize her on sight, especially not when she's in her civilian clothes, but when a grand willowy woman starts walking around with the chief, people take notice and start to wonder about her identity.

I imagine that Lena might hear that the chief is courting a new attending to try and bring up the hospital's standing, but doesn't realize who it is until she walks around the corner towards the nurses station and stops short in shock.

"Mother?"

As the crowd of speculating doctors stare, Lillian turns around, chin high with a smile that's not quite kind.

"Hello, Lena dear."

playing inquisition first then the other games truly gave me whiplash about cullen. the way my characters feel & act toward him are very much a byproduct of how Mixed Feelings my feelings are about him 😭

A deep exhale marks the end of a simple statement that conveys their lived truth; to serve under the Maker and Andraste is to pray, to heed the Chant as it is written, and to keep the faith.

Yet, in the years after Kirkwall, living in exile after an unheard call to the Maker for His aid, the foundation of her faith had been shaken, cracked to the core and made unsteady, and uncertain. Days had passed, surviving both physical injury and gradual withdrawal of lyrium when supplies ran out - until supplies could be found once more. Each passing minute was always spent praying, asking the Maker forgiveness for her sins, to be accepted as one of His again.

And in a way, the Maker guided her feet through the treacherous Frostbacks, step by step; being humbly accepted by the Herald herself (who kneels here beside her, in the makeshift Chantry, at the feet of their beloved Andraste), has been nothing short of a miracle — it has renewed faith where it was once lost.

"Even in my darkest hours, I called upon the Maker as you do now... it led me here, to face your judgement, and to serve again."

The events of Adamant have lingered heavily; even for Meredith, who has seen demons and abominations in her time, had not expected Wardens to sacrifice those of their own order. Left fighting, there had only been so much she and the others could do as Evelyn and the others had fallen into the fade — an experience she cannot begin to fathom nor comprehend.

My faith has even returned me to my love, she thinks, but does not say; though for those who pay attention, there is a reason for her to smile now, within these old, old walls.

Then, a cautious hand - one that had never quite been so affectionate - raises to the younger woman's shoulder, weathered and calloused fingers squeezing against it. While Evelyn had provided the means to earn her salvation under the Inquisition's banner, Meredith cannot help but to see her own experience reflected — an ascension through rank and responsibilities at a young age, unexpected to hold such a station — and in some ways, asserts an inner maternal desire, to support and advise her, all the same.

"There are those who stand behind you, not just for your title or what you represent, but those who truly believe in you. You may bear the burden of the mark, but you do not bear it alone, Evelyn."

A pause follows, and the hand falls away; she stays, however, even as the hour drags on into the cold, cold night. There is a small, encouraging smile on her scarred face (where her failures live so all can see - yet she survives, still).

"I am unsure what that may be worth to hear it from me...but it is true."
