I’m the “Draft Dodgers for Rodgers” anon and I’ve read your additions like 3 times now I loved them so much! I’m really touched at how much thought you put into this silly idea (who would direct and the soundtrack) and your knowledge of football trivia 🥰 You’re totally right that TSwift would be a valuable piece to the movie considering she’s popular and Aaron is a massive Swiftie, although idk much of her music. Also you’re right that no Rodgers movie would be complete without the gunslinging icon Jordy Nelson who caught 1/5 of AR’s touchdown balls. And then at the end Matt LaFleur comes to the Dodgers’ rescue; such a nice man and v handsome (Rodgers is v lucky at the end scene. But despite being apart now we all know he appreciates the handsome :D) And you really get why I chose Martin Kove as the cop chasing them because he’s known for being very intimidating roles but he’s also got a lot of comedic ones under his belt and is really hammy. Seriously watching him and Historic Ham Al “hooah” Pacino would be a treat. (Would also cast Al in a hypothetical Eli Manning movie due to their shared Dunkin Donuts connection.) Really excited about all your additions they were hilarious and insightful 😙
DRAFT DODGERS FOR RODGERS ANON!!!!!!
✨Aka my beloved hypothetical movie writing partner✨ 🥰🔥🌟💯
So sorry for the late response!!
It definitely wasn't because I didn't see it or didn't care!!!!!!!
AHHHH, I'm SO thrilled that you enjoyed my additions and appreciated all of the time, effort and energy I put into the idea overall!!!
I wasn't kidding when I said that I had a lot of fun thinking about and writing everything up, no matter how long it all took (:
I love that you read my additions 3+ times and are basically like, "Yeah! That all really does work and makes sense for this wacky-ass idea of a movie!" 🥺💞
I obviously don't know who you are, but I'm gonna go ahead and add you to my bestie list because from the moment that you came to my inbox with this idea, I was like, "GASP!! This person is a kindred spirit!!!"
I think that you're amazing for this idea and heart how you saw my additions for what they were. 😊
Ok, alright, at this point, I'm just gushing now, but it's all good. 😅💓
It's great to know that there are other folks like me out there who have these crazy and silly ideas and aren't afraid to share them, anon or not!!
In closing, you are more than welcome to come back at any time with other additions or another totally different but just as equally wild idea. 🤩🤗💗
I also want you to know that because of you, I am working on notes for that hypothetical Eli Manning, Al Pacino movie. 😏😉🌟
It's just as insane as what Draft Dodgers for Rodgers is, but on a different level. :D
I'm gonna be so excited to share it with everybody, but especially with you!!!!!
Anyway...!!
Take care, Draft Dodgers anon. 🙂💕
You are awesome and I look forward to hearing from you again sometime!!!!!

Faith in Youth: Kneejerk Reactions Are Unnecessary for the Packers
It’s fair to say that the 2024 season has ended in disappointment for the Green Bay Packers. If they considered it objectively, most fans would admit that this team would not win the Super Bowl. We didn’t need the defeat to the Eagles in the Wild Card game to tell us that. Indeed, the evidence was there in the regular season. The Packers were 0-5 against the three best teams in the NFC, losing twice to the Lions, twice to the Vikings, and once to the Eagles.
The Wild card defeat to the Eagles puts it at 0-6. Sure, some of the games were close (the Vikings won each of the two regular season games by 2 points), but it was clear that the Packers struggled against teams considered contenders in the sportsbooks’ Super Bowl odds. Yet, while it is unsurprising to exit early in the Playoffs, it was still disappointing. Perhaps it is a sense that the young Packers team has not progressed as quickly as many of us thought they would.
A Young Team with a High Ceiling
We should remember how young this team is. You’ll have heard the stats before: The Packers were the youngest team in the NFL this season and the youngest team to make the Playoffs in 45 years in this season and the previous campaign. There is undoubtedly reason to be optimistic. And while there are questions for Matt LeFleur and Brian Gutekunst to address, you can already sense that they preach patience.
Much of the focus will inevitably be on Jordan Love. The 26-year-old quarterback had his moments this season, but there is a consensus that he needs to improve. Some have pointed to the other members of the Draft Class of 2020, including the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts and the Bengals’ Joe Burrow, and wondered whether Love lags behind players who have already led teams to play in Super Bowls.
Love Carries Only Some of the Responsibility
That said, Love’s late-season struggles (he did seem to be carrying injuries) were not the only reason for the Packers’ decline in form leading into the Wild Card weekend. The team was near to a man guilty of errors against the Eagles, which crept into their game later in the regular season. As the lynchpin, Love is responsible for much of what goes right and wrong for the Packers, but he is only partly responsible.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what the management decides to do in the coming months. The Packers are not flush with cash, so you’d imagine it will be a case of minor tweaks to the roster. Josh Myers, Isaiah McDuffie, and Eric Stokes will enter free agency, which must be addressed. You can also argue that the team needs some depth at wide receiver and perhaps at defensive end.
Fans will likely clamor for improvements, but there should also be a recognition that this young team needs further development time. The team has seven picks in the NFL Draft, but there may be an argument about taking in some veteran help through a trade or free agency. Yet, this continues to be a question about having faith, not just in the team’s youth but in LaFleur and the trajectory of this rebuild. Patience is required to see whether the youngest team in the NFL can blossom into something special.

NFL Week 2 Winners and Losers

Week 2 is over, and the games were wild. We had some great winners and some really bad losers. Who made the list?
     WINNERS
Alvin Kamara and the Saints
Nobody took the Saints seriously when they smoked the Panthers 47-10. They were going to have their "real test." vs the Cowboys in Dallas, and it seemed that the Saints were on their bye week.
For the second straight Week, the Saints scored more than 30 points in the first half, taking a 35-16 halftime lead. Saints running back Alvin Kamara scored 3 touchdowns in the first half. The Saints would continue to dominate the Cowboys in Dallas, 44-19.
Kamara racked up 4 touchdowns and 180 yards on 22 touches. The most he's come close to this state was on Christmas day vs. the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, when he scored 6 touchdowns and 155 yards on 22 carries.
The Saints scored 91 points in their first two games of the season. The last and only time the Saints scored 90 points or more in their first two games was in 2009 when they scored 93 points; they won a Super Bowl that year with Drew Brees under center. Are the Saints this good?
Matt LaFleur
The Packers were without starting quarterback Jordan Love, while backup quarterback Malik Willis started vs the Indianapolis Colts. Willis had a good game. Completing 12 of his 14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown, but LaFleur pounded the run game vs the Colts.
The Colts gave up 213 rushing yards last Week to the Texans, and that's one thing Matt LeFleur knew he could do to hold off the Colts.
Green Bay ran the ball 53 times out of their 67 snaps on Sunday, racking up 263 yards. Running back Josh Jacobs ran 151 of those yards. The Packers squeezed past the Colts 16-10.
Green Bay ran the ball so much that they had the ball for 40 minutes of the game. That is the most Time of Possession they have had in a game since 2020.
Marvin Harrison Jr.
After a quiet NFL debut in his first NFL game, the fourth pick overall, Marvin Harrison Jr., had himself a game vs. the Rams, hauling in 4 catches for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. The first 2 catches that he had were for touchdowns.
Harrison JR. only had one catch for four yards last Sunday during the Cardinals' loss to the Buffalo Bills, and there was a lot of buzzing about whether the Cardinals were using Harrison enough. It seems this past Sunday was the answer to whether Harrison was involved with the offense.
Austin Seibert
Austin Seibert became the Washington Commanders' number one kicker over the Week, as the Commanders released kicker Cade York. and Seibert delveried.
Seibert has kicked 7-of-7 field goal attempts, and the Commanders beat the Giants 21-18 by just kicking field goals.
It's rare to hear anybody from Special Teams named the MVP of the game, but I'm sure Seribert will be the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
     LOSERS
Bears O-Line
The Bears have had offensive line issues for the past decade, and they seem to be worse this year.
Chicago has given up 9 sacks in the first two games of the season, which is first in the league. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked 7 times on Sunday Night during their ugly 19-13 loss to the Houston Texans. If Chicago has any chance at succeeding in the offense, that offensive line needs to be addressed ASAP, or at this rate, Williams will be traded to the Steelers in two years.
New York Giants
The Giants have had a rough start to the season, losing to the Minnesota Vikings 28-6. There was little to no offense in that game. However, the Giants scored 3 touchdowns and still lost, but that's not the stinger.
If it wasn't for their 1st round draft choice, Mailk Nabers, dropping a crucial catch late in the 4th quarter while tied at 18, New York lost to The Washington Commander by 7 field goals to a score of 21-18. Can you imagine scoring 3 touchdowns and losing to a team that picked up a new kicker in the middle of the Week, and he drops 7 field goals on the Giants
Sure, it didn't help that the Giants lost their kicker, Graham Gano, to a hamstring injury during pregame warmup, so the Giants were hopeless during the PATs.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers seemed to have gone from bad to worse, losing to the Los Angeles Chargers, 26-3.
The Panthers have been outscored 108-13 in their previous four games and 73-13 this season alone; they've also managed only 3 points in the first half of the last two games.
Carolina will take a different approach this Week against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Panthers are benching the former first-round pick and turning to backup quarterback Andy Dalton to start.
The Panthers are trying to win so badly that they don't care how silly they look after trading DJ Moore for the Bears' first pick overall and then some.
Daijahn Anthony
The 7th-round rookie out of Old Miss will have a game he'll label "Rookie Mistakes."
Bengals cornerback Daijahn Anthony had two PI penalties called on Sunday during their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The last was too costly, as the Bengals were leading 25-23. The Chiefs had the ball on 4th and 16; the Chiefs quarterback threw a pass to wide receiver Rashee Rice, but Anthony pushed Rice out of the way, drawing the flag. Anthony was called for pass interference, and the Chiefs got the first down and kicked the game-winning field goal, winning 25-26.
This will be the game he'll remember not to do, especially against an excellent Kansas City Chiefs football team.
Did I miss anyone this Week? Who were your winners and losers in Week 2

[ad_1] Jordan Love is entering a new role this season, and the comfort of a familiar coach has already paid dividends for the Packers' new starting quarterback. Green Bay head coach Matt LeFleur recently credited quarterbacks coach Tim Clements for Love's growth as he prepares for the 2023 season. Clements began working with Love last offseason after working with Kyler Murray for two years as the Cardinals' quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. "Just watching him last year. I think Jordan's made some huge strides," LeFleur said over the weekend, via NFL.com. "I really do and I think a lot of it is a credit to Tom, and just, he knows how to train these guys. He knows how to drill them and he's very, very consistent. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. He just is matter of fact and I think there's no doubt."A former quarterback himself -- he had a 13-year pro career after leading Notre Dame to a national title in 1973 -- Clements has worked with several notable quarterbacks over the years. He also knows what it's like to coach under heavy scrutiny.  Clements began his coaching career at Norte Dame as the school's quarterbacks coach in 1992. He worked closely during those years with future No. 2 overall pick Rick Mirer and highly-touted recruit Ron Powlus. After four years in South Bend, Clements served as a quarterbacks coach for four different NFL teams from 1997-05. In 2001, Clements helped Kordell Stewart enjoy a career resurgence that included Stewart setting the Steelers' single season completion percentage record. Clements' first stint in Green Bay began in 2006 when he was named the team's new quarterbacks coach. In 2007, he helped Brett Favre enjoy one of his best seasons in his Hall of Fame career. Clements spent the next four years as Aaron Rodgers' quarterbacks coach; he won a ring while serving in that role at the end of the 2010 season. From 2012-16, Clements spend two years apiece as the Packers' offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Clements spoke candidly about the growth he saw in Love during their first year working together.  "He's probably getting to the point where the game has slowed down for him," Clements said last December. "When that happens, you kind of see things in slow motion. You see where guys are moving, you see where guys should go, and you're able to react quickly."It's the things we've worked on the most, which is footwork, the proper drop, going through your progression, not getting stuck on a receiver, not being late with the ball. We work on different route concepts each week, we did a lot in the spring, but then you have to see it play out when you have a defense out there. You have to be able to go from 1-2-3 to your outlet quickly. You can't lock on a guy. You have to process information quickly, figure out where to go, and your footwork plays into that as well. If your feet are right and you're seeing things right, you're able to decide where to go with the ball. 'His footwork, rhythm and getting the ball off on time is where he's gotten a lot better."  Packers fans are hoping that Love's growth will lead to wins for their team, which missed the playoffs during Rodgers' final year in Green Bay. During the draft, the Packers gave Love more help with the selections of tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft along with wideouts Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks. Green Bay's brass is hoping that the Packers' new pass-catchers will develop a rapport with Love while complementing the team's existing playmakers, a group that includes running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon and second-year wideout Christian Watson. "I think that's important for those guys to grow together, and we took some guys last year that I think really did a nice job in their first year," GM Brian Gutekunst said after the draft, via the Athletic. "We're excited for their growth. So now I think we have a good nucleus of guys, pass catchers to be able to grow with the quarterback. I think that's important and we'll see how it goes." 🧀 Preview Packers 2023/2024 Season 🧀
As the Green Bay Packers begin life without multiple winning league MVP in star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. As Rodgers jets off to New York, taking a few Packers veterans in Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard with him, the new chapter in Titletown (Green Bay) has arrived with young quarterback Jordan Love taking the reigns (Jennings, 2023). A bright future beckons with last year's breakout wide receiver Christian Watson finishing the previous season strong with seven touchdowns. Joined by second-year wideout Romeo Doubs and exciting prospect Jayden Reed the offense will have plenty of weapons in the 2023/2024 season. With such young players, the league-wide expectations are that Green Bay will be inconsistent however their strong defensive line should keep them in most games this season.
Tumblr media
There will be teething as everyone gets used to coach Matt Lefleur's offensive scheme with the vastly different personnel. The 2022/2023 season started slowly with the team slumping to a 4-8 Win/Loss record before rallying with 4 consecutive wins to be in playoff contention with one game remaining. Unfortunately with a final-week loss to NFC rivals the Detroit Lions, the Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs with a 8-9 record that was only good enough for 3rd spot in the NFC North Division.
The Green Bay Packers schedule for the 2023/2024 season appears to be favourable with early season games against the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons who are both expected to struggle this season. The back end of the season will be more challenging with multiple games against divisional rivals Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions who have recruited well in recent seasons to challenge Green Bay Packers traditional stranglehold on the NFC North Division.
This season's backfield will be led by all-pro running back Aaron Jones and the powerful AJ Dillon. Defensive lineman leaders Rashan Gary and Preston Smith should lead the team in sacks and quarterback pressures while cornerback Jaire Alexander routinely has the most interceptions. Specials teams kick returner Keisean Nixon and rookie kicker Anders Carlson are expected to have strong seasons.
Tumblr media
Hopes are high as expectations are always lofty in Green Bay with such a storied history however, realistically this does not look like a playoff-worthy roster just yet. With so much youth the room for growth is high but this will take time to click. I'm expecting 5-6 wins this season. With the hope of holding good draft capital and making some strong moves the following offseason.

Episode 22: 5th Anniversary Edition!
What better way to celebrate 5 years of podcasting than mocking a team’s new uniforms? (With apologies to our good friend and Jets fan, Jayson, who we will have as a guest on a future episode!) Thankfully, we quickly pivot to lamenting the lame way the nascent AAF was managed. Can we please have spring football that lasts more than 80% of a season? After beating that dead horse, Andrew eventually segues the conversation to a bizarre fantasy of his Seahawks trading their best player to division rival, Arizona, for the possibility of taking Kyler Murray #1 overall. (Seattle fans should be glad Andrew’s not your GM.) We talk NFL Draft for a bit, including Noor’s take on the Niners’ needs, then ponder Matt LeFleur’s chances of success taking over coaching duties for Green Bay and the mercurial Aaron Rodgers. Basically, we’re all over the place. But what else is new?
