A series entitled "The Hollow Men", circa 1988: following a minor fascination for the animation in Pink Floyd's The Wall and a university course on poetry where the professor infected us with her obsession for T. S. Elliott's famous poem of the same name. I had just started experimenting with different drawing media, following my first drawing class and reading my book on Paul Klee and letting go of the restrictions of technical perfection... the series was done on reclaimed packing sheets that feel and look like extra thick card stock, including the slight matte finish which helped the dry pastels to stick to it. This helped me fall in love with messy art materials.

Material Exploration - Tomorrow Never Dies
Tomorrow Never Dies_red torso sculpture_Anthony Moman   I am working on a series of sculptures inspired by classical Greek and Roman artefacts that have degraded over time. The deterioration maybe due to natural causes or deliberate physical damage. I have reimagined them using industrial materials such as thermo plastic to create an intricate surface that is both tactile and significant. The…

out of all the hollyleaf chapters, this one from outcast has always really stuck with me in the way it resonated in constantly being taught that finding a husband and settling down to have kids was an expectation or even a path to happiness. squirrelflight's response isn't to tell her that she doesn't have to have children, that she doesn't need to become a mother if she doesn't want to - instead it's to assure her that her "path is marked out" and "she can have kits and still return to the warrior's den". hollypaw's pov chapter comes after lionpaw's and jaypaw's, neither of which have to deal with these questions and struggles. i'd be curious to hear the author's intentions behind the scene- it's interesting characterization - one that resonated with me obviously - but it's so strange to see in a children's book, one by authors who at the very least hold milquetoast liberal politics, be unable to outright have their authority figure in the scene, the one whom the child readers are meant to look to as guidance, say "you don't need to have children if you don't want to, you're not any less for not wanting them" and instead don't acknowledge the idea of not having kits and instead try and say, albeit in a less blunt way, "you can still have babies and a career! you can find a way to have children and still pursue your goals!" which isn't the Good Message shit approach they think it is.
this isn't really meant to be an organized piece of analysis, i just wanted to revisit a scene that really stuck with me as a young kid struggling with my identity. surprisingly out of everything in po3, this is really what made me resonate with the idea of hollyleaf being a lesbian.

Commander Johnson, I-I think I found what or who been stealing our extra spare material supplies
Astronaut Jennifer said in the com as she stared, standing stiff as a board if it weren't for the gravity of Mars making it difficult.
What she was staring at couldn't be human but yet so close and eldritchic- alien like as the inner part of her mind was screaming danger danger, That Is Not A Human Being, Run RUN RUN,HIDENOWHIDENOWNOWNOW
It's look like a adult, a very slim and very tall adult if it weren't for the fact that his skin was tanned with a bit of splash of starlights all over, wearing a suit made of galaxies covered in red Mars rocks, his hair was white, whiter then the clouds on earth, ears pointy and curled a bit as if it wa to shield or reflect to what its was hearing(but they has moved back in a aggressive manner thar remind her of snuffles when threaten) and eyes glows so ominously Neon Green with black instead of white surrounding the iris, splatter of star like freckles that looks like he almost has two pupils mixing into a slits like in each of them.
Teeths razor sharp and thick, as the thing looks like it was growling at her with his body arch over, hands with extra digits of long blacken claws like nails dig into the dirt, hiding all the stuff that the alien had stolen along with a lil head of another mar baby, it weren't for the fact there was no sounds in space, she would've been screaming float running back to her headquarters base.
She was only patrolling the part of the base where they were trying to grow plants in one of the green houses they painstaking made on Mar, but then she saw the glow of unnatural green slipping out of the sealed tight glass.
Curiosity took the best of her as she put on her suit and went to check at that spot is where she find what seem to be a native Mar creature and its baby hoarding all the missing stuffs that they had lost in the base, along with the missing robot, opportunity as the top of it's hoard pile in a makeshift hole(it's a Nest and she has enter this creatures domains) near a small pool full of of oddly frozen water that glowed luminous.
It was a stand off between her and the creature not moving an inch until Jennifer's coms responded back as she flinched, her heart dropping snd face paling dramatically when the creature's ear flick a bit as it heard the static electric device.
"J-J-J-Jennifer, do you copy? I repeat, Do you copy?!?" Commander Johnson spoke a bit frantic.
Unawared of the danger he had put Jennifer in when she flinched, the creature lunged, Jennifer scrambling to turn around and hop/run back into the safety of the base as fast as she could.

You know I may be wrong, but I’m starting to think that the general Fanon perception of PO3 may be wildly off from his portrayal within the source material.
Something I heard once was that Inscryption’s creator (Daniel Mullins) described PO3 as the story’s villain and as generally evil. And that stuck with me as someone who has read a LOT of very interesting takes on PO3’s hidden nuances, and it had me wondering about what the creator-intended perception of PO3 is meant to be
And I’ll be real I’ve been thinking over the source material with this idea in mind and I think I have an answer that is NOT pretty for my guy
(note: while I talk about fan perception within here this is specifically an analysis done with this supposed “creator intended” reading in mind. It’s not meant to be a take down on all interpretations.)
I think PO3 is intended as a stand in for the worst elements of gaming culture and game design. I know Act 3 has its defenders, but I genuinely think that narratively the strongest aspect of Act 3 is that it makes you reflect on and appreciate Act 1
Act 3 is near devoid of passion or care. PO3 fundamentally does not give a shit about the game he’s playing with you unless it furthers his marketing scheme or if it gives him an opportunity to show off just how much better he is at this than the other Scrybes.
I’ve seen people point to the bounty hunters as an element of PO3’s creativity and passion for the game coming through, but if that’s the case it’s pretty sad given that the bounty hunters are literally procedurally generated. They have roughly the same amount of care put into them as the average madlibs.
He didn’t even finish the 3rd boss fight, he makes you do it for him
ACT 3’S “FINALE BOSS” IS G0LLY
G0LLY.
I LIKE G0LLY, but she’s not a finale boss fight, especially not when her competition is Leshy’s three stage finale which is capped off with the goddamn moon.
I know that PO3 has a moment of reflection in the moments before the grand transcendence but idk, it comes off as insincere and self-congratulatory more than sentimental especially given that it’s right before PO3 goes off about this was actually all just his plan to sell his shitty unfinished game on Steam and how he’s actually in it for a way BIGGER audience
and also you’re an idiot gamer

this fandom pairs gavin and the rk900 dude like theres no tomorrow, which is lovely, follow ur bliss, happy for you. i want that same energy for north and kara. they are sampling from parallel water wells, they are running on similar batshit frequencies. north like 'what if we blow their ass up' (iconic of her) and kara like 'i'll run straight into high-velocity traffic man i'll fucking do it' (and then she did it) like these two women. repeatedly exposed to apathy, violence, cruelty. repeatedly wiped of their memories to keep them passive in the face of constant abuse. what if they met and held hands and raised alice to be their madmax pipe-bomb slinging baby . anyone.

Average fma fan talking about 03 positively: Man, it's such a miracle that the 2003 anime is written even halfway decently! After all, the writers who, as we know, have never written anything in their lives before [citation needed], they had to work while locked in individual underground cells [citation needed], only fed scraps of fma lore by Arakawa herself [citation needed] while her story was actually fully formed by the first printing of her manga in Monthly Shonen Gangan [citation needed] but they were adapting the initial first volume of manga and oopsy-daisy shot past it [citation needed], so they made up every plot beat, character arc, storyboard, and lore change completely on the fly and very randomly [citation needed]. Even though they tried to 1:1 adapt her story [citation needed, contradicted by existing sources], they fumbled the job and butchered her story, characters, and lore. Arakawa sagely forgave them [citation needed]. But somehow it's a cohesive story?! Wow! Even though the story is sad, dark, scares me, makes me cry, violent, gorey, and my fave ships aren't endgame, so -50 demerits. Still, good job team! A treat! A treat for the monkeys working the typewriters at Studio Bones circa 2002-2004! #fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

Brain working overtime, I finished reading the Amber Spyglass and was thinking of that clip of that idiot saying fish and humans aren't animals.
Can you imagine what it would be like for a dæmon to settle in human form? Technically and biologically they're also animals and I don't see why someone who is especially unique can't have a human looking dæmon
