“I've been working in this field for over 25 years and I've never seen it so bad, four women murdered in the space of just six weeks."
The words of Sonya McMullan, regional services manager for Women's Aid Federation Northern Ireland.
She said staff working for the charity have endured a difficult and challenging week following the death of yet another victim in what seems to be a never ending cycle of violence against women.
Mary Ward is the latest victim. The 24th woman to be killed in Northern Ireland since January 2020.
Her smiling face was splashed across newspapers and featured in television reports throughout last week.
Her body was found in her home in south Belfast on 1 October, but police believe she was killed on 25 September.
The 22-year-old was much more than simply the latest statistic: she was the mother of a young child, a daughter, a sister, a friend.

Five Nights At Freddy's
A review of the onscreen adaptation of the 2014 video game
By Katrina Rodriguez
The poster for Five Nights at Freddy's Photo via Universal Pictures
Five Nights at Freddy’s, also known as FNAF, is an indie horror video game franchise made by Scott Cawthon. Its first video game was released on August 8, 2014, and garnered attention and popularity immediately following. The main video game series comprises of nine video games but also includes several books and the new release of the adaptation movie.
The first game surrounds Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a popular family pizzeria, whose main attraction consists of four animatronic characters, Bonnie, Foxy, Chica and Freddy Fazbear. The player’s goal is to survive the night shift as the security guard, which includes monitoring cameras and doors, and managing the electricity. The games in the series and the overall lore, continued being developed throughout the franchise’s progression, which now consists of multiple new games, books, and its awaited movie. The game received rapid attention from YouTube gaming sensations such as Markiplier, 8-Bit Ryan, CoryxKenshin and many others, and has built a large following online.
The Five Nights at Freddy’s film adaptation was first announced on April 7, 2015, originally under Warner Brother Studios and Gil Kenan as the director and co-writer. The production experienced several delays and was announced to be under Blumhouse Productions with Chris Columbus as the new director and co-writer in March 2017. Emma Tammi was announced as Columbus’ replacement in October 2022 after he left the production. The film was finally released on October 26, 2023, and has earned more than $215 million in revenue. The film stars Josh Hutcherson as the protagonist, Mike Schmidt, who is accompanied by Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Wyatt Parker and Matthew Lillard as the supporting characters.
The film has had split reactions between critics and viewers, with a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, but an 88% audience score. A variety of critic reviews describe the film as unscary, muddled and overstuffed with lore while lacking development. In contrast, fans praise the film for its ability to capture the fun spirit of the game and incorporate the lore that fans have been uncovering for years.
In my opinion, I had a blast watching FNAF! As someone who has been a fan of the game since its release, and grew up watching many gameplays of the original, I feel it greatly satisfied a part of my childhood. I do not think the film was supposed to be “good,” in an Oscar-winning way, but rather that it was good because it was fun, and catered to a certain demographic. I love how in touch the film was with internet culture and it truly sparked excitement for me. There are so many faithful fans who have been waiting for this film’s release, and it’s fantastic to see the praise that Five Nights at Freddy’s is receiving. Overall, Five Nights at Freddy’s has created a whirlwind of excitement for old and new fans of the game, lore and internet culture.

“Lord Weardale, ladies and gentlemen, we have come to address you here today, and to take leave of each other at the end of a long fight. In a sense I may look back upon very little short of half a century, because, when the question first came to be debated I was at Oxford, and taking a rather active part in the organization of women's education at Oxford. It was a subject which them frequently came up. We all had to consider it, and, at that time, there was a great difference between Oxford and Cambridge. Cambridge, on the whole, as you know, led the suffrage cause; Oxford, on the whole, with some exceptions, was on the other side. Then for a long time, as we remember, it was an academic question, coming up in Parliament again and again, but never really having any actuality. Then the last active phase seems to me to have lasted about ten years.
It was when I came back from America in 1908 that this League was started, and that we had those striking first meetings which enabled us to appeal with such great success as we did to the country. For ten years we have kept up the fight, and what might have happened if the war, the great convulsion in which we stand, had gone by without a decision in the matter, I do not think can be quite foretold. But the decision of the Speaker's Conference, carried, as Lord Weardale said, by a small majority, made the thing at once actual; and then there was the wave of gratitude towards the women of the country for the work which they had done, which was very natural, very natural indeed. It might, at a time less fraught with excitement and intensity of feeling, have been met and countered by argument, but at the present time it was, as we all know, too strong to resist.
At the same time a considerable fight was really put up. (Hear hear.) In the House of Lords—I may say that having been entrusted with the chairmanship of the Executive I studied that debate certain things struck me very much, and struck me freshly and newly during the course of that debate. Lord Seiborne, in the course of his remarkable speech, which, I think, did more thany anything else to carry the debate in the House of Lords, Lord Seiborne admitted in the strongest possible way that women were deeply divided on this question. He said that. We had a singular proof of it on the very eve of the House of Lords debate. The suffragists sent a memorial to the House of Lords, signed by between 400 and 500 persons engaged in war work. Some of our friends in the House of Lords sent it to us. We felt it necessary to produce a counter move.
In a very few days, during the Christmas holidays, when the office, except for the devotion of Miss Garland, and one or two of her helpers, was practically closed, we sent out a certain number of letters to friends and Branches, and so forth, and within a fortnight, not four or five hundred, but two thousand women engaged in the war work of this country had sent in their names to the office. (Applause.) They were names of the greatest significance. They were the names of women doing some of the most important war work of the country, as well as of the rank and file. There were V.A.D's, nurses and helpers in the camps and cantonments, who, as we know, are indispensable to the great host.
When I showed this list to Lord Lansdowne and Lord Bryce, they both felt that it was a very remarkable thing, and they both said—and I am afraid I agree with them—that if this had been done some time before, it might have made some substantial difference to the whole result. Yes, women were deeply divided, and we were perfectly right to fight the great fight on behalf of those hundreds and thousands of women throughout the country who would have preferred not to take upon themselves the great responsibility of the vote. But now the great responsibility is there, and, as Lady Jersey so eloquently said, we have to go forward in a different scene and under a different sky. But, above all, we have got to hold over us a flag of womanly stead-fastness, womanly help, womanly service to our country, and not regretting her (applause.)”
From “Mrs. Humphry Ward Led Last Stand in England” from The Woman Patriot, June 1, 1918.
A reprint of Mrs. Mary Augusta Ward’s speech at the last meeting of the Women’s National Anti-Suffrage League. Anti-suffragettes outside of the U.S. aren’t really discussed on my blog because I study American history, but the anti-suffrage (and suffrage) movement in the U.K. was closely watched by Americans on both sides of the question. The American antis notably view the loss in Britain as one that happened because of lobbying, and then late action on the part of British antis.

Ward was a feminist Christian – claiming equality in the sight of God:
wherein are we so inferior to other creatures that they should term us 'but women?' For what think you of this word, 'but women?' but as if we were in all things inferior to some other creature which I suppose to be man! Which I dare to be bold to say is a lie; and with respect to the good Father may say it is an error . . . There was a Father that lately came into England whom I heard say that he would not for a thousand of worlds be a woman, because he thought a woman could not apprehend God. I answered nothing, but only smiled, although I could have answered him, by the experience I have of the contrary. I could have been sorry for his want – I mean not want of judgement – nor to condemn his judgement, for he is a man of very good judgement; his want is in experience.

I've largely been thrilled with the amount of sister content for Adaine and Aelwyn in Junior Year considering that Aelwyn's main arc was more or less completed last season and she could have easily been benched like so many other NPCs were this season. The only thing I was hoping would come into play but didn't was the Nemesis Ward. Even if it never comes up though, I still love it so much as a point of characterization for her. That action says so much about who she is as a person. That she would take a piece of magic specifically intended for evil and make it good in the same way that her protective magic which should have been good was twisted to be used for evil the first 18 years of her life? Mwah. Chef's kiss.
#dimension 20#fantasy high#aelwyn abernant#adaine abernant#there are obv other things bc if I had it my way aelwyn would be in every episode lol#but yeah this is the top of my list of things set up this season without serious payoff that I'm like aww#but c'est la vie#or rather c'est la D&D lol#it be like that that's what fic is for#If it never comes up#(and the finale is tomorrow so there's no reason it should except maybe as a bit in the epilogue or crazy hail mary)#I might post my non-canon compliant Nemesis Ward fictlet#we shall see#and game time decision: gonna recap both parts of the finale together#I didn't have much commentary that wasn't covered by asks

first sex with buggy ♡
buggy the clown x fem!reader
mary♡: for my bestie @daltonshotgf ♡
rules ; masterlist
♡ english is not my first language, i apologize for the mistakes. ♡
buggy is like the man you had your first sex with. he will make sure you remember him forever, and no one else. his lips will gently kiss yours while he dominates yours tonguewith his, his palms clutching your breasts tightly and his knee resting against your cunnie. buggy is so horny, but he doesn't want to rush you or force you into anything, he'd rather wait to make a complete mess of you.
"please buggy, fuck me already" hearing this from your lips excites him even more, he can't stop and rips off the rest of your clothes. buggy undresses himself and pulls out his cock to enter you faster and feel heaven.
he will start kissing your folds, quickly rubbing your clit and just licking your cunnie, he wants to savor the taste, buggy dreams of hearing you scream his name as he brings you to a squirt with his long tongue.
buggy gets so sensitive for you and feels himself getting closer to his orgasm from his throbbing cock, but he can't afford it because he wants you to cum first and put on a show.
"is it going to hurt?" your voice is so innocent, buggy is so ashamed, but he's going to make you his slut who will come running to him as soon as he asks. "it'll be okay, you're going to like it, sweetie," he says it on an exhale before entering you completely.
"a-ah, y/n, i-i could cum right now, you're killing me with that pussy, i think it's going to be all mine from now on" buggy slaps your(his) cunnie before he starts fucking you and biting your nipples at the same time, he wants you to look up at him and see how good he's fucking you.
"eyes on me, okay? otherwise i'll stop and you'll finish it yourself." your whimpering excites you even more, and he rests his palms on the bed as he quickens his pace, and his right palm grabs your chin and lifts your gaze straight up at him.
buggy has forgotten all about his promise to be gentle, you have to understand, it's the first time he's been inside you, dreaming about it for so long that he doesn't even realize he's losing control and he's fucking you into the bed. your moans are getting louder and your bodies are getting wetter, he's waiting for the moment when he can cum inside you and make you his.

Celebrating the legacy of Matthew Perry
By Maritta Gostanian
Comedy Icon Matthew Perry Photo via CBC
It is with heavy hearts that we remember the life and career of Matthew Perry, who left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment upon his recent passing. The talented actor, known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on the hit TV show "Friends", was found dead in a drowning accident at his Los Angeles apartment on Saturday, October 28, 2023, leaving a void in the hearts of his fans and colleagues alike.
Matthew Perry was born on August 19, 1969, in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where his father, John Bennett Perry, was a well-known actor and model. This exposure to the world of acting from an early age undoubtedly played an important role in shaping Perry's own career.
Matthew Perry's mother, Suzanne Morrison, had a notable career as the press secretary to former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Her role as a press secretary was integral to the functioning of the Canadian government, where she played a significant part in managing media relations and communication during Trudeau's time in office. This background in politics likely influenced and shaped Matthew Perry's early exposure to the world of public life, contributing to his eventual career in the entertainment industry.
From an early age, it was evident that Matthew had a flair for comedy and acting. He attended Ashbury College and later pursued his acting aspirations, eventually studying theater at the University of Southern California. His journey into Hollywood was marked by hard work and dedication, which would eventually pay off in a big way.
Matthew Perry's breakout role arrived in the mid-'90s when he was cast as Chandler Bing on the immensely popular television series "Friends”. The show quickly became a cultural phenomenon, and Perry's portrayal of the sarcastic and lovable Chandler endeared him to audiences worldwide. For ten seasons, viewers couldn't get enough of his quick wit and memorable one-liners.
Perry's work on "Friends" earned him critical acclaim and numerous nominations, including an Emmy Award nomination. The show's enormous success catapulted him to stardom and made him one of the most recognizable and beloved actors of his generation.
Following the end of "Friends", Matthew Perry continued to make his mark in the entertainment industry. He appeared in various films and TV shows, including "The Whole Nine Yards", "17 Again", and "The Odd Couple". His versatility as an actor allowed him to tackle a range of roles and genres, from comedy to drama, showcasing his exceptional talent.
Perry’s last work was his memoir that he wrote, titled “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing” which was published almost a year ago, on November 1, 2022.
Perry was not only a gifted actor but also a writer and producer. He was involved in the creation and production of several television shows and films, including The Whole Nine Yards, demonstrating his commitment to the industry.
Although Matthew Perry is no longer with us, his legacy endures through the timeless moments he brought to the screen. He will forever be remembered for his unique comedic timing, memorable characters, and the joy he brought to millions of viewers.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and fans during this difficult time. Matthew Perry's contributions to the world of entertainment will continue to bring smiles and laughter to people for generations to come.
In memory of this extraordinary actor, we celebrate the life and work of Matthew Perry, a true talent and inspiration who will always have a special place in our hearts.

The thing I love about the Doctor and both Romanas is how, because they are both timelords, the writers couldn’t just write it so he was explaining the plot most of the time. When you watch their interactions, it FEELS like they’re working together to figure out what’s going on and how to fix it.
No other companion dynamic is like this imo. There’s always a level of distance, that the Doctor knows more because he’s so detached from them. But not Romana. Because more so than any other companion, she sees through most of his BS. In fact, if Romana has no idea what the Doctor is talking about, chances are he’s BSing.
I still like the other companions a lot, but after watching basically the whole series I just WISH they’d do someone like her again, or just bring her back. Someone who is on his level of intelligence or even smarter to play off of. And not as a guest star or a recurring character. No. I mean as an actual companion.
