Hey! Hope you're doing alright. What do you think the staffs general music taste would be?

Hey, thanks! I got a minor bout of finals flu and had to do research on a bunch of different music genres so forgive me for my tardiness XD

Clef:

Clef seems like he’s well-listened, and pretentiously so. Most likely a fan of classic rock, but he can also lecture you about the reason a particularly crunchy jazz chord was significant to the meaning of the piece. He also seems like the type of guy who can name the album that a song is from and the year it was released. Clef just really likes music.

Despite this, I don’t imagine he can play very well. Maybe a few songs on the ukelele, but Clef seems like the type to get good at something and then drop it a few weeks later, so I don’t imagine they’ve stuck with anything long enough to play super well.

Favorite artist: Has too many to choose one; depends on the day.

Kondraki:

I think it’s cheating to say I came up with any ideas for Kondraki, because it says on his personnel file that he thinks classical music is ‘‘the only kind worth listening to”. However, while I do think he’ll make comments about Draven’s music being “noise” occasionally, I think he holds back a lot because he wants to listen to Draven’s music with him.

I don’t know if they canonically say that Kondraki plays any instruments, but I imagine he plays piano very well and is proficient in violin (less so than piano, though).

Favorite artist: Chopin

Gears:

Gears seems like he’d enjoy smooth jazz. Just the mellow vibes that he can tune out a little bit more easily when he needs to lock in. Despite this, I imagine he really secretly enjoys the music Iceberg plays. Just because he doesn’t express emotions often doesn’t mean he doesn’t like feeling stuff sometimes.

I think Gears could’ve been forced to play piano as a kid and been really good at it, but the emotion was never there. He could play Rachmaninoff particularly well, but was never able to be creative or fluid enough for jazz.

Favorite Artist: Mary Lou Williams

Iceberg:

Iceberg, as cold as he is, has a very fiery personality and I think he’d be into metal, although he tries to pull back a little and sticks to hard rock when playing music around Gears because he doesn’t think Gears enjoys the extremity of it. One of his favorite genres is symphonic doom because it makes him feel cool when he’s running explosives tests. He wears thick headphones to block out any loud noises from the explosions, and then blasts his music at full volume.

Definitely did not play any instruments except for maybe a few self-taught songs on guitar. This man can sing Wonderwall at you.

Favorite Artist: Lethian Dreams

Shaw:

Shaw has heard it all, they are over music at this point. They just feel neutral about all of it, honestly, and not much music really speaks to them anymore. Shaw also seems the most likely to be the type to listen to one song on repeat until they get sick of it. If anything at all, they miss the disco era and still occasionally listen to funk.

They have been around long enough to play most instruments with reasonable skill. They can carry a tune on 30+ instruments easily.

Favorite artist: Although they feel pretty neutral now, they were into The O’Jays.

Glass:

Glass gets overwhelmed by music very easily, but I imagine he likes pop music generally. Generally only listens to whatever’s on the radio or whatever is playing, although he will take the time to listen to any song request given by patients.

I think Glass probably played a woodwind in middle/high school. Clarinet maybe? Not good at it, but never got rusty in terms of skills.

Favorite Artist: Taylor Swift

Rights:

Rights doesn’t have a specific genre, dabbles in lots of places, but that’s exactly how she likes it. She also likes the mysterious vibes that come with not telling people what she listens to, so she’ll never clarify. She goes through phases, but punk rock was a long one spanning 8 months.

I don’t think she ever played an instrument, but I think she’d be a quick learner if she ever decided to.

Favorite Artist: Destroy Boys

Strelnikov:

Strelnikov doesn’t listen to music in English because he likes to be able to relax while listening, and spending all day translating is well…not easy. Despite this, I don’t think he’s into the gopnik stuff like dubstep. He’s a military man through and through, so old songs from his childhood are usually what he plays.

I really like the idea that he plays guitar. The picture of Strelnikov on the wiki looks like a man who could play guitar. Can do fingerstyle Russian lullabies or just play the chords and sing along.

Favorite Artist: Definitely doesn’t remember the names of artists at all, but he’ll say he “like music from old soviet movie”. his favorite movie soundtrack is by Aleksandr Zatsepin

Snow is falling, it’s pretty I won’t lie. Apart of me misses home though, don’t get me wrong being outside late at night walking with the triplets admiring the lights and snow is an amazing feeling. When every distraction is gone i’m left with this feeling of emptiness. We just got back from our walk through the neighborhood and got back to the triplets childhood home.

I moved in with the triplets a couple months ago and they had asked me to spend Christmas with their family and them and I couldn’t say no, and here I am sitting by the window of the guest room watching the snow fall and the pretty lights of other houses while the triplets are downstairs with their family. I’m left without mine. Christmas eve should be happy? Right??

Tears began to stream down my face as I look down, my breathing started to pick up and my heart was rapidly beating. My hands began to shake as I desperately gasped for air. What was I supposed to do if i’m spending christmas with someone else’s family? Are my presents enough? What if I get nothing and sit there awkwardly?

My thoughts interrupted as the door opens. I quickly look down to hide my tears.

“Hey chris and nick are downstairs, I made you hot choco- woah, woah what happened?” Matt quickly set the mug down, and rushed over to me. Kneeling before the bed to see my face as my head was still down. His hands embrace my hands and he immediately notices the tears streaming down my face.

“oh, y/n…” he gets up quickly and pulls me into a hug.

“I just- I don’t know what to do. Like i’m so nervous to spend Christmas here.” he nods and pulls me in tighter and brings my chin up with his hand so i’ll look at him.

“Y/n, we all love you here. I know it’s hard to spend Christmas away from your family but your enough for us. Here, i’ll stay with you for a little.”

He gets up and grabs my mug and his and hands mine to me, he smiles as I grab it. “extra whipped cream and sprinkles just how you like it, here get comfortable on the bed. What do you wanna watch?”

He lays next to me and covers me with the blanket, my mind raced through movies that reminded me of home as I decided on the grinch. “hm, the grinch?” I asked Matt.

“I love that movie y/n!” he smirks as I take a sip from my hot chocolate, “thank you for the hot chocolate it’s amazing Matt.” I look into his eyes.

“Anytime.” the movie turns on, my eyes glued to the screen but after some time my eyes start to feel heavy.

“Y/n…y/n..hey wake up it’s Christmas.” My eyes flutter open and is met with Matt’s face, he tucks a piece of hair behind my face. “let’s go y/n.” He rolls off the bed and stands up and opens the door for me. I put my slippers on and make my way down the stairs Matt behind me.

I sit down on the floor next to the triplets. Huge presents under the tree and mary lou holding a stocking that says my name, Matt looks at me and mouths I told you. “Oh my gosh!! thank you, I love it so much.” I smile holding the stocking, mary lou smiles.

“Let me get a picture of you and the triplets!!” she lights up pulling out her phone as I lean into Matt his hand sneaks it’s way to my hip, I look at him quickly smiling as mary lou takes a picture before i turn my head to the camera. She snaps another picture as we start to open presents. After all the presents are opened, Matt speaks up. “Wait hold on I have another present I forgot it in my room.” he gets up and walks to his room as everyone else looks confused.

I hear his footsteps behind me as mary lou’s hands fly to her mouth smiling, I look the Chris and Nick smiling. My head whips around to see Matt holding Pink and white flowers in a vase, a little note hanging from the stem of a rose. Matt sits down and hands me the flowers.

“Oh my god Matt, these are beautiful!!” My face lighting up.

“Read the note.” he smiles before glancing over to his brothers beet red.

Dear y/n, for two long years I have loved you. From the way your hair falls to the way you laugh. Everything about you drives me crazy, this Christmas I’ve been thinking about you a lot and how I’d like to make this special day even more special. I was hoping that maybe you’ll be my pretty girlfriend.

“Of course Matt.” I set the flowers down and hug him.

“This day couldn’t get any better.” he holds me.

Alright, in my two previous posts I mentioned that Madison Springer, kills Rani Goshwalla. However, how is everyone else supposed to feel about it? Well, I got these names right here! (Fuck, I’m gonna have to tag them all aren’t I.)

### Initial reactions to Rani’s death:

Misha: Misha was beside herself. Actually, she was the first person to have found Rani like that. That was her little sister, and, Misha has survivor’s guilt due to her being alive. Canonically, yes, she did feel some jealousy towards Rani because she was better liked. So lets say… Misha feels guilty for that too.

Tess: She was pretty shocked. Immediately, she wanted to work on the case. She suspects *two* people could be behind Rani’s death… but… who?

Josh: Josh had felt pretty bad about Rani’s death, especially because of the things he planned to do to her. Perhaps they weren’t *that* close, but it still shook him.

Donna: Donna was very shocked for a few days. A murder on *her* campus? The police were called immediately. After Rani’s death, Donna had placed more stricter rules for those on campus

Olly: He was proud of Madison…

Riley: Absolutely jawdropped. At first, he thought it was a silly prank (he was high at the time), but after sobering up, Riley had joked about it to Misha. That earned his ass a hard slap. He held his cheek, cause he was also slapped with the reality of the situation

Mary Lou: Mary Lou was, essentially disappointed. She had wanted to get to know Rani better.

Cathy: She had alerted her grandfather as soon as she found out. She wanted to help solve the murder case, but was ultimately denied. Cathy would ally with Tess in figuring out what happened eventually.

Troy: Troy was a little unserious about it at first. The somber mood of the campus, however, made him somber too.

Chad: Chad was one of the people that made Troy see the gravity of the situation. He had sent his condolences to Misha.

Thomas: Because of the murder, and Donna’s fear for her students, he wasnt able to play the Grimsborough’s Quails. It was more of a “well, damn.” moment for him.

Franklin: He had suggested letting the football game go on still, but Donna had shut him down *fast*. Still, he feels sad about it.

Karimah: Karimah, who doesnt know why, feels like she could have saved Rani…

Lisa: Lisa was also, very upset. She had considered Rani to be a nice person. Another friend was very great for Lisa, and nowww… she doesnt have that.

Penelope: Penelope started spending more time with Lisa, also grieving the death of Rani.

Caroline: Caroline was extremely shocked by her death. What more can I say? She works with elementary school students too, she cant have murders going around fucking everything up!

Tom: Tom was also, very shocked by her death. A murder on HIS school’s campus? Hell no. He’s been staying at home… visiting Hannah too. Well… trying…

Aaliyah: A fellow girl being murdered hurt her soul. She was pretty sad—not just by the murder, but watching Misha break down every now and then was heartbreaking.

Taylor: Taylor was somehow moved by this. She wants to start a protest for enhanced safety on campus.

Michael: Michael frowned at the news. They were feeding their devilish ass fish when they were told. Usually they’re always happy with those demons, but, it seems they’ve been way more sadder than usual

Tyler: Tyler was put off by the situation. As long as he wasn’t in danger, though…🧍

Stuart: Stuart wanted to publish a newspaper article about the murder. He’d insert himself in Tess and Cathy’s investigations (he was not invited lmao)

Bryan: He decided he’d work way harder after this. The students’ safety is in his hands, after all.

Mikhail: He wasnt here yet. He’d find out about all the murders soon.

When Olly gets his kill, though, they won’t know what hit them.

you walked in the door with him, the cold air hitting your face. you could smell the turkey, and all the other foods matt’s parents had been making.

“come in, come in.” mary lou said, ushering you and matt inside.

“madi! nate! i didn’t know you guys were coming.” you said giving them each a quick hug.

“yeah, we’d be insane to miss this.” nate said sharing a glance with madi.

“yeah thanksgivings with marylou are the best!” you said, oblivious to their hidden meaning.

you ate together, until you swore you could burst. you had some of the cookies nate’s mom made, and the brownies you and matt had made. it was mostly you of course, matt started yelling at nick about something two seconds in.

“y/n these are really good!” madi said, causing matt to look over in disbelief.

“hey i helped too!” matt said and you both gave him a look.

you noticed matt seemed anxious, something he never was around his closest friends and family. he would take a deep breath on occasion, fiddling with his hands.

at the end of dinner you excused yourself to go to the bathroom, feeling queasy after everything you’d eaten.

you heard the quiet chatter, and wondered why they were whispering. you walked quietly out into the hallway, but the door closing behind you gave you away.

“it’s time matty.” chris said as you walked in, patting his brothers back.

“y/n.” he said, taking a step towards you. “look, i’ve known you since middle school. you’ve been by my side through a ton of shit. and i’ve been by yours. we’ve gone through our weird phases, and we almost lost each other a few times. but here’s the thing, i never want to lose you. and i hope i never do. i want to be with you for the rest of my life. so, y/n will you-”

you didn’t hear the rest of his speech, as the world went quiet around you. everything seemed to move in slow motion, you watched as he got down on one knee.

you felt your breath catch in your throat as he opened the small black box and there sat a diamond ring. you could see something engraved on the side, but weren’t close enough to see what it is.

“matt.” you whispered, tears in your eyes.

you could see the admiring smiles from your friends and family. and it was now that you noticed that your mom and dad were there, smiling.

“y/n?” matt said, still waiting for an answer. “y/n say something.”

“no.” you said, your voice sounding braver than you actually were.

and at that you broke, knowing it was best for you to walk away, but wishing you didn’t have to. mary lou hugged you right in her arms, whispering how it would all be okay.

and she was right in some ways, you were better now. over a year had passed, and while you still couldn’t sleep, you were able to say his name without breaking down.

“so, boston, i am happy to say that this is the first stop on my very first tour,” you said, causing the fans to scream.

“and i have never ever played this song live before, so i am happy to take you with me, back to where it all started.” you said, and your fingers began to play the first notes.

you knew this song by heart by now, as you played the first verse. it took you back to the moments you and him had, and how by choosing to walk away you lost everything.

you looked around the crowd, a smile on your face. then you looked towards the middle, directly in front of you. matt’s perfect seat, in his opinion.
