sally’s “i want him to know who he is, before your family tries to tell him who they want him to be.” and poseidon saying “he will be stronger for it on the other side. his mother raised him well.” and he is. percy is stronger on the other side. we’ve seen it so clearly through his quest. his confusion at how you have to earn the gods’ love, earn their respect. his conversation with annabeth on the train about it. his unwillingness to accept the ways of the gods. him realizing his mother wanted to keep him away from this world, and annabeth being the one to tell him that maybe it was for the better that sally did that. so that he wouldn’t be like them. annabeth’s “he isn’t that way. he’s better than that. maybe i was that way once. but i don’t want to be that way anymore.” the way percy would’ve turned out with a similar worldview to annabeth’s if he had been sent to camp so early on. and annabeth’s worldview changing so quickly after meeting percy. sally jackson raised that kid right. you would think that as a demigod, the half god side of percy is what’s important. but that’s not what makes him the hero. it’s the half mortal side of him that does. his humanity, his mortality, his mother. that is why percy is the hero that he is.

i think we need to understand the gravity of how quickly Percy blames himself and his disabilities for the way his world is. how he's been made to believe over years and years that he's weird, that there's something wrong with him. Percy saying he should've been paying attention. Percy saying there's something wrong with his brain. Percy calling himself broken.. he's just a kid man

with the lack of any other info yet, all I can focus on are those Charles Lloyd-looking sunglasses. they are absolutely sending me. I feel like we're gonna fall through a tree or whatever and this stitched-up boney gentleman is gonna pop out from behind a gravestone and start serenading us with some smooth jazz on the saxophone.

"the Gabe and Sally dynamic in the show is abusive" and "the way they've portrayed Gabe in the show is distinctly different from his book counterpart and fans can criticize that" are two discussions that can coexist

A bit of a thought I've had for awhile bear with me here-

So during the robotized Sally Acorn arc I'd began to think about the Genesis wave and how it reset everything the first time. And it got me thinking this, what if the second time instead of resetting everything it instead sent Sally to the IDW verse? Like-

In the Archie verse she's still a robot, but when she's taken to the IDW verse Sally returns to normal. She wakes up, confused and with memories of her time as Metal Sally and she sees all this destruction around her. And with this sinking horrible feeling, she thinks-

'Did I do this??? Where's my friends??? Where's Sonic????!!!'

And with this dread, this guilt she gets up on wobbly legs, to see this damaged town. Sally doesn't recognize it but Mobius is vast. And it's then one of Eggman's rouge robots comes out, ready to rip her to shreds and Sally braces for it when a familiar blue blur takes it down. A familiar voice, belonging to a pink hedgehog calling out and the blue blur stops and Sally is just like he's here, Sonic's here. And without thinking about it she rushes towards him, so used to her beloved responding in kind.....

Only for him to stiffen when she hugs him.

Immediately Sally realizes something is very wrong.
