Thanks to this episode I cry whenever I hear the Cheers theme song

watches simon and marcy. cries for eleven minutes straight. watches it again and cries the whole time again really though, it’s great- on a technical level, it paces itself well and uses the time given it the best that it can. sets up the framing device without spending too long on it, sets up all the First Act stuff that will become important in the Second Act neatly and at the right time without rushing or focusing on it too much. and as for the story. it is without serious flaw. an earnest, unflinching glimpse of the post-apocalyptic world, our first time seeing the dynamic between little marceline and the person who basically raised her - not to mention our first time seeing the man the ice king used to be on a personal level. it’s beautiful and sweet and clever and heartbreaking.

Fave AT episodes from each season?

Ooh I think I've answered this before but it's always a fun one.

Season 1 you've got to go with Evicted, the Marceline episodes really are the standouts of that season.

Similarly for Season 2 I'd probably go with It Came from the Nightosphere but with Together Again hindsight I am also a big fan of Death in Bloom.

Season 3 has so many good episodes, I have to go with What Was Missing overall, but my favourite lighter episode of that season is Hitman.

Season 4 has got to be I Remember You, with Princess Cookie being my favourite lighter episode.

Season 5A for me is a toss-up between All the Little People and Simon & Marcy.

Season 5B I have been swayed by Tipsy's The Vault propaganda but I also love Bad Timing and Time Sandwich and a lot of others in that season.

Season 6 is insane but I am gonna have to stick to my guns and say You Forgot Your Floaties is my favourite, despite Jake the Brick being the episode I go back to watch the most often.

Season 7 (in the new season order not the old order) has the whole of Stakes but since I can't just say the whole of Stakes I will instead go with Varmints. Also Hall of Egress.

In Season 8, High Strangeness beats out the whole of Islands for me. I just love that episode.

Season 9 I would go with Three Buckets.

Season 10 would be the finale for me, since I absolutely loved that when it came out, but if that's cheating then my runner-up is Bonnibel Bubblegum.

I wonder if this is the same as what I've said before.

Every TTRPG party has That One NPC that they’ve latched onto.  It might be an NPC who’s become a member of the party.  It might be a god.  Maybe it’s your wizard’s familiar.  It’s probably that one shopkeeper from that one town with the craziest voice you’ve ever heard come out of the DM’s (or if you’re the DM, your own) mouth.

This bracket is designed to celebrate those NPCs!  Tell the world about why they’re so special to you and your party.  You’ll learn about all the wildest, most wholesome, most villainous, silliest, and everything in-between NPCs out there, and be able to cheer yours along in a Tumblr-typical bracket-style tournament.

All the guidelines for your propaganda can be found on the submission form here!  I have it set so your personal information will not be recorded.  Please only submit NPCs through the submission form so that I can ensure that I have them all and Tumblr didn’t eat any of them.

What makes them the best: She’s incredible at her job and on top of all her shit, but she’s also deeply a gossip and here for a good time.  She’s not gonna reveal state secrets but she will give you some dirt if she likes you.  Caffeinated to all hell.  She’s less than a foot tall because she’s a pixie but she has the personality and voice to fill a room.  The vibes and energy of a New Jersey mother of four who’s lived in town for thirty years and is not about to let Big PTA get one over on the new kindergarten parents.  Would probably smoke with you if you asked, but not during work hours.  Has at least two exactly identical desks.

Starscream and Skyfire (Skystar) from Transformers vs. Anne, Marcy, and Sasha (Sashannarcy) from Amphibia!

Propaganda for Skystar:

i ship them not in a romantic way but in the way of their close bond, their connection, the tragedy of a friendship torn apart by war and the changing of people over time, and a desperate desire to see them happy. there's love there but not romance, y'know? fire in the sky is one of g1's standout episodes and a lot of that is due to such a raw depiction of a friendship-breakup that you don't usually get. the desire to see them reconcile is a common one which has sparked many a fanfic into being. many are romantic, but that's not what they really are to me. also i'm aro and project onto starscream to hell and back. he's my little guy

Propaganda for Sashannarcy:

Anne: "We love you and...". Sasha: "We forgive you." as they hold unconscious body of Marcy. They are destined to save the world together. Three of them in the prophecy, the wit (Marcy), the heart (Anne), the strength (Sasha). They mean so much to each other. Not space or time can break their bond. They love each other in such a way, which is different from any other love. They are one and they are three. It's them. It's always them.

He's so evil, he's blown up children, and killed a lot of people. But also, he's such an amazingly written character, balancing perfectly with Dazai, who is like the good version of him with how similar they are in both thought process and looks. He is a terrorist with plans of ridding the world of all evil, which to him is people with abilities. He has no mercy, and manipulates everyone around him. Needing to be constantly in control of people, or else he refuses to be near them, since he lacks trust.

In this contemplative, atmospheric story, Jake lives out his dream of being a brick in a collapsing building.

Everything Stays:

Marceline looks back on her life on her last day.

Jake the Brick:

Sweet and surreal in the way only Adventure Time can be. A beautiful stand-alone episode.

I don’t know how to explain it, but Jake narrating the life of this rabbit in such a way that brought people all over Ooo together to listen… it makes me feel so content. His narration is so beautiful, too. This episode is like a warm hug to me.

Everything Stays:

A wonderful re-contextualization of Marceline as a character. This episode offers insight into why Marcy is the way that she is, covers some of the much-speculated time between Simon & Marcy and the start of the show, and gives us some sick vampire lore to boot.

"The game she's from was relentlessly dragged through the mud for years and years and Elise took the brunt of it. She's a teenage girl who due to spoilery circumstances can't cry or else she'll basically trigger the apocalypse, AND she's the ruler of her kingdom - and gets dragged into Eggman's plot and faces a ton of danger. She basically has never been allowed to let go, or be herself, or just do whatever she wants, or even show emotion - and her arc is about her starting to try and go against that and be free. BUT because she's a human girl everyone in the Sonic fanbase hated her for more than a decade."

"she did nothing wrong!!!! people love to villify her, pit her against other girls for no reason, and make her seem as selfish as can be even though she literally spends the entire game being pretty selfless. one moment of selfishness and of wanting a friend amidst her 10 years of loneliness makes her the worst person ever, even if SHE ACTUALLY DOESNT EVEN DO IT? she still gives up everything after all that time spent alone and it's like the only thing she does that's of (bad) note the entire game. the rest of the time she's being captured (by eggman), trying to help sonic (by pointing things out during gameplay), learning to be brave and growing as a person (escaping with Amy, running away from Eggman), literally giving herself up so no else gets harmed, and just being nice overall. people also love to say Amy hates her or something even though they literally become friends in the game? even after the kiss, they're clearly doing fine, Amy hugs her after they win. hello?? i just love her a lot and people are so mean to her? she's a sweet girl, she just wanted a friend and that makes her the worst i guess. she doesnt even go through with it😭"

People act like shes the scum of the earth literally just for having a lapse in judgement when she was terrified she was being pulled away from the only people she trusts and feels cared for by and made a rash decision- that i would like to note she Did Not Think Would Work- but here we are and so many people have such bad takes all the time"
