Watched sepang 2011 moto2 fp1 followed by qualification and now I am absolutely devastated. screaming crying throwing up etc. etc. (the following write-up aka. me ever so slightly losing my mind over how Marc Marquez's 2011 season ends)

That weekend was so cursed it's unbelievable. Not even two minutes into the fp1 session the camera cut to the turn 10 gravel trap and then there was two riders occupying the place. The first one was Jules Cluzel, who was thankfully already up and was not hurt. Marc was the second one and oh boy, was he NOT fine. He laid there on his back for what felt like minutes, camera focusing on him almost THE WHOLE TIME. I. am. sick. to my stomach!!!

Not a moment later another bike (or two actually, but one of them was off camera) came crashing in, Marc was still on the ground, just out of the hit range. It was Yonny Hernandez (who looks to be fine. he raced the next day but was black-flagged) and Bradley Smith, who ended up with a broken collarbone + bruised ribs and was forced to be out of the race altogether. His injuries were caused by him getting thrown directly into Marc's bike. How unlucky was that??? The cause of all these crashes? A WET. FUCKING. PATCH. I reeallly meant it when I say that weekend was fucking cursed (and on sunday. we all know what happened on sunday...)

I was already regretting my choice to watch it at this point but just like watching a trainwreck, I couldn't stop.

And then I saw the team's reaction (full on regret. hits like a brick)

The icing on the cake? the whole session did not have any commentary. Just pure ambient noises, bike engines, staff radios, people rushing around the track. The whole scene was so eerie, I could not imagine watching this live.

The way they were running out from the pit, almost entirely abandoning it to (presumably) check on Marc at the medical center? gut punched.

Marc missed all the sessions following fp1 (3 in total) but he did joined in for qualification session the next day. There was commentating for this and they mentioned that he was still a little dizzy this morning, his neck and left shoulder was not doing great either. Of course Marc being Marc he still wants to at least try to qualify and maybe, race. For context, he was just 3 points off the lead and not participating in this race means he will lose the championship, which in the end, he did.

It didn't last long. Marc was back in the box after just one qualifying lap.

Back in the box, Santi and Emilio was immediately all over him. The commentators DID pick up that there was something seriously wrong as normally only Santi (crew chief) would be present to talk about technical stuff that needs to be done and such, and not Emilio (manager). They discussed, things did not look good. With the gift of hindsight we can see that Marc was clearly informing them about his eye problem (which we know was diplopia later on) not to mention his other injuries to neck and left shoulder that was probably bothering him.

He has to leave the box shortly after. The commentators said they were hoping that he will be feeling better in the morning of race day, and also that Marc losing the championship was “inconceivable” before the fp1 crash*. There’s no such luck, unfortunately.

*mind you, he already have another big (very reckless and very much his own fault) crash from prior week with Ratthapark Wilairot in phillip island resulting in his blackeye but that was not enough to hindered his performance.

And just to add even more (like anyone needed it, jesus christ) to the cursed factor of this weekend, Axel Pons suffered a massive crash during the race, resulting in a red flag. He also, was not fit for the next race.

God. That's it. That's the end of his 2011 season. From a crash that was in no way, shape or form, his fault. The circuit was later fined for not displaying yellow flag to warn riders of a wet patch on the track.

He could've won. HE COULD HAVE WON. HE COULD HAVE BEEN A MOTO2 WORLD CHAMPION IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR!!!!! I must repeat that at the time he was 3 POINTS AWAY FROM THE LEAD and has more or less been DOMINATING the whole season. He was on the podium for every races that he has finished and was on a streak. I am convinced he could have easily done it if not for the unfortunate accident.

But all he got out of it was second place in the championship (which we all know he won't accept in his mind. at least back then) and a diplopia problem that would still haunts him more than ten years later...

15 Day BL Challenge 2024 (PART 1):

Okay so I don't have 15 days until the end of the year (It took a very long time to convince myself to do this challenge) so I will just do 5 days of them in the same post until it's done. I had a pretty rough days lately so I want to find a little joy in writing these posts. Thanks to @negrowhat for this challenge.

1 - Fave OG Actors Pairing:

My first OG actresses pairing is Aom Sushar and Tina Suppanad. They played in the movie Yes or No and it was my first QL movie. It had a profound impact on me at the time I watched it. So I would say they hold a special place in my heart.

The second OG actors pairing I like is Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan. I discovered them in Not Me and this series is so dear to me that it made me want to watch every other series they stared/ would star in.

A special mention to Krist Singto because I discovered them pretty late (this year) and I love how well they work together.

2 - Fave Rookie Actor Pairing:

So many choices possible here, I will say the first pairing that comes to my mind is Marc Natarit and Poon Mitpakdee. I love their dynamic in We Are, but they made me fall in love with their pairing in Perfect 10 Liners. I can't wait to see them again together in A Dog and A Plane.

The second pairing that I think of is Sailub Hemmawich and Pon Thanapon. It's probably thanks to their role in Pit Babe that I like them. I also had a fun time watching them in This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans, and I really want to know how they are going to portray Alan and Jeff again in the upcoming Pite Babe 2.

A special mention to Billy Babe , Li Le Wang Yunkai and Big Park.

3 - Side dish That should have been the main course:

I have nothing against Force Book and their portrayals of Arm and Arc, but I will give this to Pond and Sand. They were the sweetest and I didn't have enough of them in the first arc of Perfect 10 Liners.

A special mention to JJ and Methas in TLDHLB. They didn't get enough screen time (probably because the series may have needed two or three episodes more).

4 - Fave ship dynamic :

Probably because it's too close to home, but I would say Affectionate x Touch-Starved. I always love to see a character who needed love/affection finally getting what he was always looking for. This is the most beautiful thing to me.

A special mention to Toxic Dumpster Fire and no further explanation for this choice.

5 - Biggest Flop:

I'm pretty indulgent towards QL stories (and stories in general) because there is always something that keeps me watching the end of it, but this year I had two biggest flops in mind.

The first one is Love Is Like a Cat. It was a nightmare and I can't even remember the end of the series. All I remember is how stupid everything appeared to me. Don't let me talk about how I hate this idea that one character goes in another country, can't speak the language and fall in love with someone who also doesn't speak his language. It's not working for me. I couldn't suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative.

The second one is, unfortunately, 1000 years. I wanted to like this show so much. You have no idea how ready I was to love this show... but it never clicked with me and I was really frustrated because it seemed like many people here found something in this series. I read the reviews, I kept watching it, but it didn't work... I found no appeal to the series and I stopped watching it on episode 11. I only read about the end of the series right here.

SCUOLA: “A NATALE PUOI”, QUARTA EDIZIONE A CAIAZZO TRA EMOZIONI, CULTURA E TRADIZIONE

Manifestazioni al via nella sede centrale dell’IC “Aulo Attilio Caiatino” con l’accensione dell’albero di Natale.

CAIAZZO - L’Istituto Comprensivo Aulo Attilio Caiatino di Caiazzo (CE) si prepara a incantare ancora una volta il territorio con la IV edizione dell’evento “A Natale puoi…”, un ciclo di manifestazioni che promette di far vibrare il cuore di grandi e piccini, grazie a momenti di condivisione, arte e riflessione.

Si parte lunedì 9 dicembre alle ore 16:30 con l’attesissima cerimonia “Ti metto in luce”: l’accensione dell’albero di Natale, che trasformerà il cortile della sede centrale in un luogo di magia e incanto. Un appuntamento reso ancora più speciale dalla partecipazione della giornalista e inviata Daniela Volpecina, e dalla guida della dirigente scolastica Silvana Santagata, da sempre promotrice di iniziative che uniscono cultura e comunità. Nell’occasione dell’evento verrà presentata e scoperta una riproduzione in ceramica del celebre dipinto “Il violinista verde” di Marc Chagall, pittore russo appartenente alla Scuola di Parigi, realizzato 100 anni fa. L’opera è stata creata dagli alunni della Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado nell’ambito di un progetto PON, coordinati dalla professoressa Filomena Puorto. Presente e si esibirà per l’occasione la Corale di Dragoni PF PoliFolli pazzi per la Musica, diretta dal Maestro Caterina Di Lorenzo.  

Il ricco calendario proseguirà con eventi imperdibili, tra cui il tradizionale Concerto di Natale che si terrà venerdì 20 dicembre alle ore 18:00 nella suggestiva cornice della Cattedrale in Piazza San Stefano. Ma la magia non finisce qui. Durante tutto il periodo natalizio, l’Istituto Comprensivo si animerà con un fitto programma di iniziative, distribuite nei vari plessi scolastici, per celebrare il Natale in tutte le sue forme e significati:

10 dicembre - ore 17:30 a Piana di Monte Verna accensione dell’albero e arrivo di Babbo Natale;

17 dicembre - ore 16:30 a Caiazzo (Scuola Primaria) Corale in Cattedrale;

18 dicembre - una giornata ricca di emozioni: ore 10:00 a Cesarano recita della Scuola dell’Infanzia "Caro Gesù ti scrivo"; ore 10:00 a Castel Campagnano (Scuola dell’Infanzia e Primaria) rappresentazione "La Natività" nella Chiesa di Santa Maria ad Nives; ore 10:30 a San Giovanni e Paolo (Scuola dell’Infanzia e Scuola Primaria) Tombolata e saluti dei bambini e ore 15:00 a Squille recita della Scuola dell’infanzia con mercatino natalizio;

19 dicembre - ore 9:30 manifestazione presso il plesso della Scuola dell’Infanzia in via Astolfi; ore 10:30 a Cameralung canti natalizi a cura della Scuola Primaria; ore 11:00 a Piana di Monte Verna inaugurazione dei mercatini natalizi che resteranno aperti fino al 21 dicembre (ore 16:30-21:00) e ore 14:30 a Ruviano canti e poesie di Natale della Scuola dell’Infanzia e della Scuola Primaria;

20 dicembre - ore 9:30 a Caiazzo recita di Natale “È accaduto un fatto strano!” della Scuola dell’Infanzia con canti e poesie presso l’Aula Magna della Scuola Secondaria di I Grado;

21 dicembre - ore 9:30 a Ruviano proiezione del cortometraggio “Stringimi più forte” realizzato nell’ambito del progetto PNRR "Non uno di meno".

“Un’occasione per condividere gioia, riflettere sull’attualità e riscoprire il significato della solidarietà e della pace” - ha dichiarato la dirigente scolastica Silvana Santagata, invitando tutta la comunità a partecipare – Non perdete questa straordinaria opportunità di vivere insieme la magia del Natale”.

Hi Waru! I wanted to ask you because you seem to know a lot about moto2 stuff, but how much of a difference does it really make if you’re on a kalex or boscoscuro? Or is it more the team itself that makes the difference? (and the rider ofcourse)

Hi there anon 👋👋👋👋👋

It really depends on the rider and the team really. Let's go back for a moment to 2022, when Arón said that 'Boscoscuro has to be ridden like Marc Márquez, while a Kalex is ridden like Álex Rins' he had ridden both bikes, so he does understand. This tells us that a Boscoscuro is an aggressive bike, which doesn't necessarily mean their rider has to be aggressive, and a Kalex is a gentle bike. So kind of a Kalex is like a Suzuki/Ducati/Yamaha while a Kalex is more like a Honda or a KTM.

Now each bike has their own differences. A Boscoscuro chasis will prefer a flowy track such as Aragón, Philipp Island, Argentina (which is also a low grip track) or Silverstone. The Kalex on the other hand seems to work better in twisty and Stop&Go tracks such as Catalunya or Austria. On top of that, until the Pirellis, the Boscoscuro seems to work better in low grip conditions, Pedro himself said that, hence why Fermín did such an amazing job in the Asian and Australian leg of the championship last year.

This year, however, the Boscoscuro bikes have said over and over again that their bike prefers the soft compound. Alonso in more than one occasion has said that the bike demanded the soft tyre. And the MSI team had said the choose to put the hard compound to study how it'll work when they are forced to use it, meaning that bike has clearly a preference. This make me think that they might have a grip issue this year. It also adds up when you look at the results and you see that Kalex has been better than them at their strong tracks. Maybe it's just an adaptation issue that will be solved by next year as in general Boscoscuro has a solid and competitive package.

Now, about the teams, it influences in 2 ways. The first one is when a suplier like Kalex has that many teams (12) and riders (24), they have to choose the 'top' teams. Meaning not all the teams have the same material or get it later. On the top of my mind, top teams are KTM, Italtrans, Marc VDS, Gresini and Yamaha. This blows my mind because Fantic had better results but is not a top team according to to Kalex.

That same thing applies to the riders because top teams will have more saying than other, and that translated on how they help or hinder the bike development.

On the other hand, as Boscoscuro is as small manufacturer, they allow all riders to give their opinion and feelings on the bike. It also allow them to share all the date. They still decided who get the material first, and so far it's been first Fermín, second Alonso then the MSI team. This might change now that the Marc VDS also got the bike, and apparently Yamaha master camp too.

The second way a team can affect the riders, it's the teams dynamic. This is why a rider like Roberts struggle in Italtrans, but is doing much better in American Racing. Their rider advisor (ex-rider) took him under the wing and help him settle in London where most of the team lives. This helped him more settle. That same team dynamic is also what makes some rider feel more heard or ignoring and increase their confidence. An example of this is Arón, in the Pons team he was very heard and he was given what he asked, however what he needed is someone who told him 'no, focus on what you have before making the changes' whenever he got lost, and he got it with Jairo Carriles.

Now rider's innate riding style does affect because it means they will need to change their riding style more or less. It's also about how quic they adapt or can change their riding style and their ability to change it.

Overall, it depends on each rider, but overall, I will said it's the rider's riding style and their ability to change it is what will affect more.

15 Day BL Challenge 2024 - The Sequel (PART 2) :

I never have enough it seems. Again, we don’t really have time to do it from day to day, so I’m going to post 5 of them in a post. You can find this challenge here and again thanks to @slonekaru for making this sequel.

21 – If you could ship any two actors in a BL pairing who would it be? (OK someone messaged me – so just to clarify I don't mean ship the actors, I mean create a new BL pairing)

It is a very interesting question and yet it was so hard to come up with anything. I'm going to give one new BL pairing and one GL pairing I wish to have. They both come from gmmtv. I know I could have been more imaginative with other actors or actresses, so bear with me please.

There is one actor in Gmmtv that I want to see in more challenging roles and it's Title Kirati. He is in every series at the moment playing this secondary character who can either be the nicest person (as Kluen in We Are) or the most annoying one (as Knot in Be My Favorite). He also has something that I like in people: a beautiful smile. In my opinion, you could pair him with everyone: Title and Papang (the vision was here in Kidnap ; never really used, but it could be great), Title and Drake (You've seen them in Wandee Goodday. It was a great idea to pair them. Again, it wasn't used well, but it could have been amazing) and my favorite one Title and Poon (He has a killer smile and Poon has beautiful doe eyes. This is a perfect mix). So my idea is Title gets all the boys and have fun with them. They can change his pairing every year I don't mind.

As for the GL pairing, this is my personal crazy vision and I know people can’t really see it, but I really want Aye Sarunchana with Jamie Juthapich. Aye is an actress I’ve always found great. I loved most of her characters and I always wished she would get more roles. It was sad when the second part of Gmmtv Line Up of 2024 didn’t have any project with her on it. She didn’t do many series this year and that’s a shame. Well, she played in Ploy’s Yearbook and Jamie was there too. I don’t know, I wasn’t the only one to feel that they would be great partners in a GL series. There is something here and I want more people to have the same vision as me regarding this matter. Trust me, I’m sure it would be great. I can even come up with one story if gmmtv needs a screenwriter.

A special mention to the cast of Pit Babe and more generally to Change artists because I believe everyone of them could be paired with another of their co-stars. Give me, Ping and Garfield, Pop and Benz, Pon and Aom (TLDHLB) and even Pavel and Sailub… There are so many possible things to do here.

I also think about Frung Prompatcha and Fay Kanyaphat who both played in Dream the series (or My Marvellous Dream is You). They played rivals actresses, but I felt something was working between the two of them. Don’t get me wrong, I like Fay with May.

22 – Day 2 revisited – Fave Rookie Actor Pairing?

So last time I choose Marc and Poon, but also Sailub and Pon, so I guess, I need to make a third choice. I also mentioned Billy Babe, Li Le Wang Yunkai and Big Park.

This time I will choose a GL pairing because I forgot our beautiful ladies.

I'm thinking about Namtan Tipnaree and Film Rachanun. They are not rookie actresses, but it's the first time they are paired together this year and the result is nice. I feel like Pluto is an interesting series and they work pretty well together. They make me think their characters are truly attracted to one another. I'm glad their pairing is working well and I can't wait to see what they are going to bring in Girls Rule. It's promising.

A special mention to Fay Kanyaphat and May Yada. I may not have liked where Dream the series was heading at the end of the story, but I believe they could do great in another one. We'll see.

23 – Most disappointing ending to a series?

I just want to add something before giving my answers. It doesn't mean the series mentioned didn't put on a good work or good acting. I just personally didn't like the end, but for all of them I enjoyed the journey.

Hum… I didn't like Last Twilight's ending for various reasons. I believe the story was brilliant until the last three or two episodes. I'm a bit disappointing by the choices that were made. I read many posts about the series to see different point of views, but unfortunately it didn't change my own opinion about the ending. However, this series made me realize that Jimmy and Sea could give me a story I could like. That's a win, at least.

I was also a bit disappointed by the end of the Trainee. I freaking hate the long-distance trope that always comes up too late in the story to be credible. In the end, I believe it was a miss for the series and I rated it (in my mind) less that I thought I would.

I also didn't like the end of Dream the series and I was obsessed with this series. I wrote things about it because I like the ideas used in the series. I guess I expected a different ending and different characters growth. Maybe I was putting too many expectations on this series.

24 – What Storyline/trope do you enjoy and wish to see more of?

Hum… I think there are already plenty of them, but I don't get tired of watching the same things over and over so I will say:

Hurt/Comfort trope is my favorite one. I love to see characters struggling to overcome the obstacles in their life with the help of someone else. They can be as damaged as the other characters, but together they are stronger and they can find love in between. I like the idea of hoping someone is there for you when you're walking on a difficult journey.

Thai QL series made me like the storyline of a twin who takes the life of his brother/her sister and while living their life they meet their twin's rival/enemy/past lover and they end up with them at the end of the story. I want more! They don't need to put the twins in a coma to make me like it, they can find another reason for the swap.

A special mention to dysfunctional romance. It can be interesting to watch.

25 – Which BL actor do you want to see more of?

Wow! You want me to choose one?! Hum… I have plenty. I want them to keep giving me nice stories to watch and there are many I like. I choose them because I liked them in one role and I wish to watch more QL series with them (if they can be the main leads it’s even better).

For the actors, in no real order, I would say:

Four in a row! Fermin Aldeguer makes some Moto2 history

That's a wrap for 2023 in the FIM Moto2™ World Championship and Fermin Aldeguer (CAG SpeedUp) stole the limelight yet again as he took his fifth victory of the season and fourth in a row. The Spaniard was untouchable as Aron Canet (Pons Wegow Los40) had to settle for P2, with Alonso Lopez (CAG SpeedUp) coming out on top in the battle for the final podium spot in P3. The Boscoscuro rider stretched the field right from the beginning as he had Canet clinging onto his coattails in second place. With 20 laps to go they already had a substantial gap to Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing) in third as the hot pace from Aldeguer stretched out the top five. Ramirez was out of touch to threaten the top two and had Jake Dixon (Inde GASGAS Aspar Team) for company as the Brit was desperate to find his way through with the prospect of a third overall in the Championship still tangible.

However, at the front Canet was confidently responding to Aldeguer's pace, and the two were Dixon's rivals in the fight for third overall. With 17 laps to go Canet was the fastest rider on the circuit too as he set the quickest lap of the race so far and bettered it one lap later. The battle for 3rd then began to hot up even more as a flying Lopez caught Ramirez and Dixon as he brought Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) to join the party with him. But Lopez made his way through on Dixon with 14 laps remaining. The Spaniard was on a charge after fighting his way up from 14th on the grid to sit in fourth place with his sights set on Ramirez ahead of him. 12 laps to go and Aldeguer was able to extend the gap to 1.5s. The Spaniard continued to put down his relentless pace and took victory in Valencia by 3.982s, with Canet bringing home second. The fight for the final place on the podium went absolutely to the wire as Lopez got through on Ramirez but the American Racing rider then went for a lunge at the final corner on the final lap. It was a well-judged one, but Lopez got the cutback and won the drag to the line. The points scorers Behind Ramirez in P4, Chantra got the better of Dixon in the end as the Thai rider capped off his 2023 season with a 5th place as he pulled eight tenths on the Brit in P6. Dixon ends 2023 fourth overall, with his compatriot Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) completing his final Grand Prix race in seventh as he gets set for a move to the WorldSBK paddock. Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team) took eighth ahead of his teammate Dennis Foggia, with Albert Arenas (Red Bull KTM Ajo) completing the top 10. Ai Ogura (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) claimed P11 ahead of World Champion Acosta, who ended his season with a P12 after a fraught start and tougher race. The Spaniard's attentions now turn to Tuesday's Valencia Test. The final point scorers were Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Mastercamp), Barry Baltus (Fieten Olie Racing GP) and Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini Racing Moto2™) who took 13th, 14th, and 15th respectively.
