Horror Movie Review: Mansion of the Doomed (1976)
Mansion of the Doomed is a schlocky slice of 70s exploitation horror that has some notable moments and an overall grim and grubby feel.
A grim and grubby low-budget exploitation horror that can be found under many names. Mansion of the Doomed, The Terror of Dr. Chaney, Massacre Mansion, Eyes, Eyes of Dr. Chaney and House of Blood. All offering up some small clues as to what might be experienced here.
Directed by Michael Pataki, written by Frank Ray Perilli, and starring Richard Basehart, Gloria Grahame, Richard Basehart, Trish…

hws headcannon
I've been thinking a lot about hws Sealand. I don't usually concern myself with the micro-nations, but I think his identity as an old ww2 sea fort and ultimately nothing more makes him a really beautifully tragic character.
A boy bred and born for war, made to die but now a self-proclaimed nation. He barely has a population, he's still ruled by the laws and legislation of Arthur, there's no future or growth for him.
So he'll stay as a boy. A violent boy: he spends his days watching war films, playing shooter games; sitting and waiting, no interest beyond his original purpose. He cares not for music or literature, a bit of a barbarian with his bare feet, uncut hair, black fingernails.
Rebellious in his eternal youthfulness, he's dirty and brutal and apathetic. But not with Arthur, oh no never to Arthur. An abandoned English military fort, as much of Arthur as he is himself, he remains completely obedient. They play chess, needlework together, he pulls the weeds Arthur points out to him.
An image of domestic bliss and paternalism. Except the boy never ages, never concerns himself with much beyond shooting badgers and chasing cats. And Arthur, as neglectful as ever, doesn't mind the messy shadow living in his house - the trail of muddy footprints, the dead animals in the garden, the occasional mug left out.
The one young nation who stays with him, who doesn't resist or retaliate - and its him. its him a thousand years ago, lonely and barbaric thing he was. it must be torture for him, for his ex-colonies, to watch the boy go so neglected and stay so young.

Romance Anime Recommendations
Listen there is nothing I like better than a satisfying romance in any genre. So, maybe it's no surprise that I am practically feral for any new romance that comes on the sense in anime. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but if you like romance anime and you see something you haven't watched yet you will at least have a new show. (be warned these are not ranked in any particular order). With that let's get started.
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!
Tomo-chan Is a Girl!
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
Kamisama Hajimemashita
Yona of the Dawn
Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-
I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss
Skip and Loafer
Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf
My Happy Marriage
Romantic Killer
Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion

Something I love about the movie is that it implies Constance worked things out with her husbands? They all stand beside her/work with her whenever we see the chase at the end- as well as stick around the attic haunting their photographs and portraits.
I want to think it’s like in muppets haunted mansion where she’s so charming/has such a hold on them they’re just “hey I understand honey~ , it’s fine… do I still have a chance” while occasionally complaining about their deaths. If for anything because this is really funny.
“She was… a great wife”
“What about the husbands she murdered?”
“Slay✨💅”

I don't give a damn what anyone says! The shoujo/otome/villainess isekai genre is great and I'm so glad it's getting so much attention! And I really hope they give Raeliana and Doctor Elise full adaptations since both those series are completed. Cuz if they don't,there's really no point. Also, looking forward to more of the ones we’re getting and hope we get more.

Six Sentence Sunday Climbs Out the Window
Hello all! Thank you for the tags today, @aroace-genderfluid-sheep and @youarenevertooold! And thank you to everyone who has tagged me in the past couple of weeks. I'm woefully behind on reading WIPs-Day posts, so I really appreciate the tagging. It's the only way I'll find them when I'm finally able to read. So please keep tagging me, even if I'm slow to respond. I may have taken on a bit much this month. >.>
Anyhoo, on to some WIP sentences! This will be my last teaser before posting the actual Chapter 1 of the @carryon-reverse-bang fic at the end of the month (Oh God it still needs a title...). I've never tried to tease a single chapter for so long lol. Soooo I'm giving you a little slice of Chapter 2, today. Right at the beginning, though! So really no spoilers.
Simon's POV continues:
After another quick inspection of the fire damage, I look back to the window. On impulse I check the latch on the window. At first it sticks, but I manage to persuade it open with my usual flare for diplomacy.
I breathe in deeply as fresh, green-scented air wafts in, and push the window all the way open. I rest a hip against the sill and lean out a bit, looking around. There’s a wide overhang just under me, and above me… I can’t quite see.
(Or maybe I just want the excuse.)
I grin a little as I climb out the window onto the slate roof, being careful to test the shingles before each step. Everything’s solid, though. Whoever had this room before it was closed off was one lucky git. I can only imagine having something like this just outside my bedroom window.
It nearly makes up for all the gargoyles. Nah, it completely makes up for them.
Simon knows how to make use of a good excuse. And how to sneak out of bedroom windows. (Did we really ever doubt that would be part of his skillset? Nah.)
Tags and hello's under the cut!

SUMMARY: A mad scientist fills his basement dungeon with victims in an insane attempt to restore his daughter's eyesight.
This is an early-ish Lance Henriksen film which is fun, but beyond that, there's not a lot about this movie that interests the mod if she's honest.
