First post of the account and year, wOAH! So lets get some foundation set down. My name is Stan, I have been a fucking obsessive rat over Minecraft roleplay for the longest time, since I was like... ew a child. But there was alway some stuff that just never sat right with me, things I wish were expanded on, and choices that I wish could change. The fact that MCD was never fully finished will always leave a void in my heart, but we must press on, bitches. So I'm writing an Alternate Universe of MCD on AO3 called "Gold Looks Good on Us". It's primarily focused on Garroth if he decided to try to go marry Nicole, and what would've happened if she still faked her death. The 15 year time-skip happens, but the narrative is within the time that had been skipped instead of skipping the time. The biggest change is that the Shadow Knight Takeover happens during the time skip. Zane is still not a great person, but many of his evils after season 1, and some in season 1 are given to Zenix because he deserves the right to be evil, man. Zenix and Zane work together for a bit, Zenix seals away Katelyn, Emmalyn, and Aphmau into the Irene dimension because he was trying to get Aaron so he could kill that mother fucker and start the SK Takeover. He does so, and Laurance gets a lot of trauma, thanks to Gene. Shadow Knights are distributed around the Ru'aun region and each lord has Shadow Knight adivising them. The goal is to take over the lord and have them turn or had the SK incharge later. Laurance decides to manipulate his way into O'Khasis and Gene gets sent to Scaleswind. So Uncle Gene happens, Garroth gets fucking manipulated, and Zane gets religious oppression and decides to cope by drinking. I hope this sounds cool and interesting, once I actually write the first chapter, give it a read if you're interested. Or don't, I can't make you, lmao.

A thing about spy characters (and maybe especially likable spy characters that the audience is rooting for) I’ve found is that a surprising number of people have a hard time reading manipulation as manipulation unless it is framed as wholly insincere. Like just because somebody means some or all of what they say does not mean they are not choosing their words and manner in an extremely calculated way to get something they want.

The Fall of the House of Usher (2023) is a lot of fun so far, but I'm not surprised that the same folks who made Bly Manor are so thoughtless about their use of queer characters. Looooot of evil people whose evilness is highlighted by queer debauchery in this show. Still better than what they did at the end of Bly Manor, but an uncomfortable reminder that having a diverse cast of queer characters is often only greenlit if they are evil characters.

Well, people often ascribe him some stereotypically (and sadly) maligned or domineering astrological sign, like the perpetually misunderstood Gemini. Or a seductive, cunning Scorpio. A Leo who supposedly likes to rule everyone and everything, perhaps? Maybe a fire sign of sorts, as a running theme, because in Terry's own words One shouldn't play with fire? Just a bunch of cliches feeding into even more cliches. But, I don't think that is necessarily the case here because it would be too damn obvious, and nothing about Terry Silver is ever blatantly obvious at first glance, the same way I don't think someone's birth stars necessarily determines their character in it's entirety. So, no, I don't think the bad man has a superficially 'bad horoscope sign' attached to him and no, I don't think he's something like a Gemini, because he's prone to being two-faced and the Gemini are a sign of twinness and duality, no. None of that. Would be too on the nose for my tastes. In fact, I think the exact opposite. I think Terry's zodiac sign is actually...shockingly traditionally mellow and a bit of a letdown --- anticlimactically ordinary and not the thing people would usually expect --- to add to the notion that nothing about Terry, not even his zodiac, is indicatory of his true nature. Everything about him is a bit of a surprise. His sign is one of those seldom or not as often maligned, if ever.

What if he was a Cancer traditionally connected to being loyal and emotional?

A Sagittarius with their artistic creativity and adoration of freedom?

Taurus? With their headstrong nature and love of hedonism?

Hey, he could validly be any of these three, and he would utilize the fact that some signs are unnecessarily demonized and others often unfairly uplifted to deliberately hide behind that even with a detail quite as small and as miniscule as Astrology, because he leaves nothing to chance and it seems like not even his minute, hour and second of birth did either. It is like the stars themselves are looking out for Terry and intentionally aligned themselves in such a way that is ensured he's born the way he is, with a sign widely favored and usually cited as ''good'', serving as yet another façade he can utilize in life, if need be, even though, with the right people, those he considers warrant it, like can actually manifest all the generous nature of his equally generous sign, and do it to a fault. Really, depends how if you're friend or foe. If anyone who knew what type of man he really is also knew that his zodiac is actually...stupendously one of those signs people usually associate with 'good signs', they'd be shocked. Because seriously? Terry Silver? A Cancerian!? You gotta be kidding me! He should be a fire breathing dragon or a two-faced snake and if such a thing exists in no star chart out there it should definitely be invented and added to the calendar solely for his sake! But, yeah? Terry as a Cancerian? Believable.

Deeply, deeply ironic. Hilarious. But believable.

Second guess could be Terry Silver being a Sagittarius with Jupiter, the star of luck and the Father of all Gods ruling his house, simply for his extroverted, intellectual and charismatic stream, and a sign (fairly or unfairly?) quite literally favored by almost everyone. Which again, very fitting, because Terry, in spite of his nature, has ways to endear himself to people and sell himself as the greatest person ever too. Turns out, the popularity of his respective sign works as an elaborate gaslight too. But, a Sagittarius or a Cancer? They'd never do that, right? They'd never gaslight. Especially a Cancer, so loyal, steadfast and devoted. You're all imagining things.
