Manga Classics: Sherlock Holmes A Study in Scarlet by Julien Choy (and Arthur Conan Doyle)

This was such a fun read. I’m such a huge fan of all forms of Sherlock Holmes and this one didn’t let me down at all.

I adored the art style and I definitely want to read more Manga Classics after this!

I especially loved the way Holmes and Watson interacted in this. I’m wholly convinced the artist ships them as much as I do 😂 you can not convince me these two aren’t falling in love. The soft look Holmes gets on his face when Watson deduces something of his own, the final breakfast scene, the absolute adoration in Watson’s eyes as Holmes shows off. All of it was perfection.

I highly recommend for all Sherlock Holmes fans.

Manga Classics has done it again! A massive undertaking for this epic book, but they stayed true to the plot and provided stunning landmarks and visual details.

Gorgeous artwork, I was drawn into the story like never before. I’m so curious to re-read the original now and see what new appreciation I have after getting to read it in this condensed, visual way. They managed to keep this complex plot easy to follow, and I would love to see these comics in school libraries, to get kids invested and eager to read intimidating classics like this!
