zero's pressure
#running out of gas. running out of money. out of time. out of energy. i'm running out of everything#and ofc my solution is to. avoid it. ignore it. do nothing productive.#zero's pressure turns into zero pressure#i'm trying to be kind to myself. i really have been trying. but it's hard when youre still headed to 0 on everything with no solution#because of yourself#i cant get a job. my art doesnt bring enough. i cant keep producing new products on the regular. i cant finish major comms on time#what CAN i do?#vent#just some adhd things#and maybe anxiety. and bad stress management#sorry for being so raw on main. its therapeutic even if it doesnt really lead to anything. it does force me to confront my feelings ig#i tend to get a burst of motivation after hitting a low like this but its a constant cycle that in the longterm really doesnt improve.#ill probably get some products done and do some quick comms. just one of those alone can cover gas for me#anyway some positivity to toot my own horn: i love the palette of this piece. went harder than i thought

Hot take, anyone who thinks Dick Grayson has a persistent case of anger issues just doesn't know what anger issues are.
Does he get angry? Yes (I sure would hope so since he's a human being). Would I call it anger issues? No, not really.
#if you disagree please show me your evidence#because I keep seeing examples of 'anger issues' from Dick that are literally a common emotional response to a very damaging event#or straight up mental control#'anger issues' is not even a medical term#is just an underlying symptom to many different disorders#do we really think someone who has trouble managing their anger could ever become a trusted leader to multiple teams?#someone who people know they can rely on?#everyone has moments in which they find harder controlling their emotions because they're going through immense stress or anxiety#but that doesn't define you nor does it always mean it's part of a disorder#and I'm not saying dick grayson doesn't have any issues#nobody could lead his life and be completely mentally stable#but out of all the things I would think he has#an anger management disorder wouldn't be my first guess#dick grayson#nightwing#robin#dc comics#dc#dick grayson “anger issues”

I love how Vittorio looks! As you said he really seems to mirror Machete, and it’s funny to picture how while machete has that general paranoia that he’s one moment from disaster, Vittorio’s nervous outlook while in employ might more be from how his boss looks ready to fall apart like a house of cards at a moments notice from said paranoia x3
.
#thank you for noticing!#I wonder if Vittorio was always like that or is Machete making him more restless#I've made this comparison before but I tend to think Vittorio's nervousness has a saneness to it#it's the reasonable type of worry and usually leads to sane reasonable and appropriate actions#whereas Machete's anxiety is often vague and irrational and he ends up hurting himself and others trying to manage it#panicked animal that will gnaw off it's own foot to escape the trap sort of feel#answered#rikuredo#I feel sorry for Vittorio#I hope he's coping with stress better than what it looks from the outside

What's your opinion on malewife/house husband Adrien posts? I asked this to another blog, and like I said to them, I find them a guilty pleasure: The concept is cute, but I know that would be the last thing Adrien would ever wanna be after all his dad put him through.
I don't think that it would be the last thing that Adrien would ever want. I actually think it suits his character in a lot of ways, you just have to handle the topic with care.
First let's talk about why it suits him.
Miraculous has totally failed to give Adrien any sort of career-based passion and - if we ignore the senti complication - I honestly love that for him! I want more characters with no major life ambitions to balance out the Marinettes of the world!
I think that society places way too much pressure and value on finding the perfect career that fulfills us in every way while also allowing us to put food on the table. Most people will never find that and that's okay. It doesn't mean that you've failed or that you're lesser. For most people, the goal is to find a career that pays the bills and that you enjoy enough that you don't hate doing it 40hrs/week. Along similar lines, for most people, your passion will be something that doesn't make money. It will be something like a hobby or spending time with those you love or analyzing badly written French TV shows.
This brings us back to Adrien.
Adrien seems to get a great deal of joy from being around his loved ones and making them happy, so I can absolutely picture him finding a lot of joy in running a home. This is extra true because Marinette is pretty clearly career driven and she's planning to go into a creative field, so she'll probably have a pretty crazy schedule and struggle to stay on top of it all. Having a loving husband to take things like cooking and cleaning off of her plate would be a blessing and a gift that she'd greatly appreciate, but that would feel unbalanced if Adrien was working, too. (Yes, they could hire staff, but that risks the secret identity thing, so I don't see them doing that.)
If they both have power careers, then they'd barely see each other and I hate that for them. I think that it would make Adrien incredibly sad and depressed. Plus, while Marinette thrives off of competition and staying busy, only needing occasional breaks before diving right back in, Adrien seems to hate busy schedules and heavy work loads.
Given all of that, I think that there's a lot to be said for Adrien stepping away from the working world. Especially since he's been in it for years and being a child celebrity is no joke! I think it would be nice for him to escape from strict schedules and expectations. Dinner fails? Order takeout!
While we're on the topic of food, I really like the idea of Adrien falling in love with cooking. Dude needs a creative outlet and that's honestly a great one (I hate it when people write characters as unable to figure out cooking like it's some cute quirk. While an initial struggle is believable, it's not a mystical art that takes years of practice. Between YouTube, the wider Internet, and maybe some classes if he wants to get fancy, I think that he'll be fine.) There's so much variety with what you can do in the kitchen and the end result gets to be shared and appreciated by those you love. It just seems like a perfect fit for him, but I would never make him a professional chef because the hours are insane and the pressure to be perfect is high. I only see him loving it as a hobby where he can go at his own pace, take days off, and make lazy meals when he's not feeling like being a show off.
The big concerns that come with making him a homemaker are a lack of financial independence and a lack of socialization. I don't see the first thing as an issue for Adrien since he comes from a wealthy family, so that one doesn't phase me.
The isolation could very easily be an issue, but it could just as easily be a problem if he started working, too. It's not as if a job is a sure way to have friends or even just consistent positive social interactions, which is another reason why I don't really see a need to give him a traditional job. You can get a vibrant social life in lots of other ways.
Here are the two big things that I keep in mind when writing an Adrien-as-a-homemaker or similar setup as it is where I tend to have Adrien land for all of the above reasons:
Adrien needs to be active in some organization or project. Volunteer work is a good fit as is being an active stay-at-home parent or some combination of the two. Voice acting is also on my radar, but my default is to have him act as the head of team miraculous' out-of-battle activities. Scheduling meet and greets. Going to see sick kids. Jetting around the world for humanitarian aid missions. Basically let Chat Noir be his "career" which gives him a lot of much needed flexibility for making his own schedule, especially if he's a stay-at-home parent to any eventual kids. I also like the poetic nature of Adrien finally being proud to be the face of a "brand" via his hero side while his civilian side becomes just some guy that people kind of remember from old ads.
Consider having a non-traditional living arrangement. I am a big fan of hero teams living together, so my default is to take the Agreste mansion and remodel it into a secret HQ for the team. Adrien and Marinette would have their own apartment/wing/whatever, but they'd still be surrounded by their found family on a near-daily basis, so that social isolation is the last thing on Adrien's mind. There's almost always someone to hang out with! You could also just have Alya and Nino or other friends live in the same apartment building so that they're over a lot/Adrien has a place to hang when Marinette is working late because you know that she'd do that.
Basically, Adrien's rich, so he doesn't need to make money and he doesn't seem to have any interest in a normal job, so I really like letting him having a unique life where he doesn't have a traditional job. He is a superhero, after all. Unique career paths are pretty par for the course. You just have to be careful to make sure that all of this feels like his fully informed and carefully considered choice and not like you forced it on him to make Marinette's life perfect (I only brought her up earlier because this is a story and it makes sense to design characters around each other). I usually do this by sending Adrien to therapy in his late teens or by giving him some other parth of self discovery.
Do note that all of the above is inspired by my read of Adrien which may be totally different from your read of him and that's fine! I just can't picture him as someone who thrives in a traditional career path based on knowing people who strike me as similar to him and from whom I draw my understanding of how to write that part of Adrien's character. I think that he'd be perfectly able to have a traditional career path, but I also think that he'd be pretty miserable for a lot of reasons.
I'll also note that I'm not sure what posts spawned this ask, so there may be elements of those that I'd have criticisms of. This post was about the general concept of Adrien being a homemaker. I tend to avoid the broader fandom for my own sanity and the use of the term "malewife" has me concerned that I'm implying support of something I wouldn't actually support because that's a new one for me and it sounds incredibly sexist.
I'm not a fan of implying that the default definition of "wife" is "submissive homemaker" so a man taking on a homemaking role is clearly submissive and acting like a woman does while his aggressive, domineering wife is acting like a man, which is the definition of this word that I'm finding online and yikes! Wife and husband are legal/social status in my book. They are not clearly defined jobs/roles/personality types, so I'm not a fan of using gendered terms to refer to stuff like this especially since I do actively try to use gender neutral words in my own writing whenever I can, though I'm certainly far from perfect on that front.
I also don't see homemaking as a submissive act. It certainly can be, but that's not how I picture Adrien at all! I picture him as relaxed and plesent, but 100% in charge of the home and all choices about how it's run. I also see him being in charge of their finances like homemakers often were in the "old days" since they were the ones in charge of things like scheduling cleaners, buying food, and other things that needed strong budgeting skills while the person who worked wasn't actually spending money or managing the home since they were at work. I like to think that Nathalie would prep Adrien to be a wealthy man and so he'd have strong skills in finance management.
#anon ask#Adrien analysis#How did we go from trying to remove gender roles from job titles to this?#Like at least “traditional wife” makes some sense from a historical pov#These other ones are trying to defy gender roles by leaning into gender roles and just why?#Fun fact: read the end of this post to my SO to make sure it came across okay#And as soon as I said the word “malewife” he just looked at me in horror and said “what???”#So it wasn't just a me thing!#We also had a lovely talk about the main body topic and how nice it would be if we could comfortably let one of us be a homemaker#And also how Marinette would absolutely thrive in a stressful chaotic job once she improved her time management a bit and learned to say no#Bias disclosure: my mom was/is a homemaker whose life has been similar to what I described for Adrien and she's loved it#Even though she had an extremely successful career before kids came and she gave up her traditional career#Some people really thrive in that support role and find immense joy in taking care of others#Though my mom is a total Marinette (sans anxiety) and always has tons of projects going so it's not a perfect match#She's merely one of the people I think about when I try to figure out how to give Adrien a happy fulfilling life that fits his character

Cassandra loves being on stage and be the center of attention but at the same time she also is an overachiever and if she comes in second place that’s just like her losing she just doesn’t cope with anything less than the top spot.
She feels like she’s disappointing her mama and she can’t deal with the thought. For the life of her, Alcina can’t figure out where Cassandra is getting these thoughts from. She never insinuated that he she expects the best, all she wants is for her daughter to enjoy what she’s doing and the result doesn’t matter. But Cassandra is adamant: anything less than the tip spot and she’s the disappointment of her mother.
She gives herself so much stress and anxiety over it and no matter what Alcina says or does, it doesn’t change.

I wish I had know this so much earlier in life, but thoughts like “my childhood was super normal and pleasant why do I feel so broken” are symptomatic. They scream repressed trauma.
If you find yourself wondering things like that regularly, you could very possibly have (c)ptsd or any number of other traumagenic mental health conditions. You should consider at least doing a little research on your own if nothing else.
If you feel chronically miserable or broken or isolated or lost that suffering is valid, always. You must have lived though something awful in order to feel that kind of darkness.
You are a survivor even if you’re not sure what you survived, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Worried about the USA elections? Take care; Be prepared.
Like many of us, you might be worried about the outcome of the USA presidential election. Consider these ways to manage your worries and protect your well-being.
Important tips
You don't have to watch the coverage. Results will be the same regardless. If it makes you more anxious, turn it off.
Find things to do (see below)
Be in a space that is physically comfortable/comforting
Remember to eat and drink! Whatever appeals and doesn't upset your stomach is fine.
If you use medication to support your mental health, make sure you take your maintenance meds and don't be afraid to take your "rescue" meds if you need to. (This is advice given to me by my psychiatrist, who I must say for legal reasons isn't your psychiatrist, but still.)
The national mental health crisis hotline is 988.
The American Psychological Association has a list of various crisis numbers including ones for violence, abuse, and substance use.
The outcome of an election is not the outcome of the rest of your life. There are always more options and always ways we can make things better.
Activities and distractions
Fidget toys
Cooking/baking
Cleaning/household tasks (laundry, etc.)
Paint your nails
Stretch
Go for a walk
Work out
Have a personal dance or karaoke party
Take a shower or bath
Do your hair ~fancy~
Jewelry making
Games -- Cards, board games, tabletops
Puzzles
Journal (picture, collage, found objects all count, too)
Coloring
Build something (like Lego)
Sketching/doodling
Painting
Knitting/crochet
Embroidery
Felting
Low-stakes phone games
Crosswords/Wordle
Sudoku
Origami
Read or listen to a book
Listen to podcasts
Watch a show or movie that won't be interrupted by newscasts
Managing acute emotional dysregulation and distress
Do "square" breathing (breathe in 4 seconds, hold 4 sec, out 4 sec, hold 4 sec, repeat)
Do progressive muscle relaxation
Do a guided meditation
Use your 5 senses to focus on something small
"Shake out" your body
Say a mantra, poem, phrase, prayer, etc.
Change your body temperature: Use a heat pad to relax tense muscles or an ice pack to get your attention quickly and reduce inflammation
Smell something distinct or comforting
Eat something with a sharp flavor, like mint or something spicy
Think of imagery that makes you relaxed, like a calming beach
Scream into a pillow
Plan something you will do in the future
Drink water
Use a fidget toy
Hug a plush toy or pillow
Massage tense muscles

dunno if this has been thought of before but danny phantom but he's deathly afraid of ghosts (haha get it). Maybe he knows ghosts are real or he's had a bad experience with his parent's experiments and now he just wants nothing to do with ghosts. Except on his fourteenth birthday his parents finally finish their biggest achievement the ghost portal.
Either Danny feels bad that it doesn't work or he goes in to make sure it doesn't work or prove to himself ghosts aren't real. Except you knwo they are and he dies and becomes one or half one. Whichever your flavor of Danny is the best.
I want danny struggling with his phobia at even the sign that his eyes are turning green. Who is just an anxious frightened mess the entire time. A hair trigger away from a panic attack but tries to make best with what he has regardless. Who absolutely cannot fight ghosts because the sight of one just frightens him so bad but he has to because who else will or he talks with Sam and Tucker and they work together to protect the town.
Hell maybe he just doesn't bother with ghosts or something but the other ghosts know about him so they continue to bug and pester him. ((Bonus points if the ghosts care for him, think he needs some help of letting go or don't know that he's so scared of them.))
I am very sick so sorry if this is like nonesense but just the scenes of Danny being so scared to even look in the mirror. Of danny who commits like almost 100% of himself to being human or ignoring when he goes invisible or falls through stuff, he just doesn't think about it nope never ever. A danny who is so poorly managing his anxiety and stress and is a time bomb away from just a proper ghost explosion and then learning to lean on the people he loves and managing his anxiety and stress in a good coping way. Maybe even learning more about ghosts and ghosts are okay. He'll never be fully comfortable with ghosts but at the end he can manage himself. ye
#this story would be very imprortant to me as someone with perpetual anxiety over a lot of things#it'd be cool to write abt managing the stress and anxiety#danny phantom

While the trick-or-treating comic was very cute, I cannot imagine Vasco not being a little treat kinda guy
Are you telling me he doesn't randomly buy himself candy just for the dopamine and the child-like joy? That he doesn't indulge on halloween spirit and buy spooky candy just for him and Machete?? (who barely eats it but halloween spirit comes first, practically second)
.
#I actually thought about that for quite a while before choosing to go with a simple and neutral soda can#because yes I do think Vasco is a little treat kinda guy#but the treats he goes for probably aren't straight up candy#he's into hot chocolate and sweet coffee drinks#ice cream (particularly odd and seasonal flavors)#pastries and desserts probably#I can see him being a nutella enjoyer#and if he buys actual sweets I think he'd go for chocolate bars#(not like mars bars but thin flat sheets of chocolate that you break into smaller pieces)#(do those have a specific name in english or are they both just chocolate bars?)#none of the above are very easy to share unexpectedly with unfamiliar children#like I said in majority of Europe halloween isn't widely/officially celebrated and trick-or-treating isn't customary#families with young children teens and young adults might do halloween activities on smaller scale#but a childless couple in their thirties (and living in an apartment) is unlikely to have halloween candy in reserve methinks#Machete doesn't eat that many sugary things regularly#if Vasco is having something he probably goes along with it#but his health anxiety kind of affects what foods he deems acceptable and which ones should be avoided#which is ironic because modern Machete has a history of stress smoking#as a habit that's quite a bit worse for you than having an occasional ice cream sundae#I think he managed to quit when their relationship turned serious#answered#anonymous#modern au
