Meant to do this on National Dog Day, but better late than never...
I lost my 14-year old boy back in February and, since I can't live without at dog, I adopted a new boy in March.
Meet Trajan:
Tumblr media
He came from a shelter in Southern California, where he had been for over a year. They DNA tested him and discovered he was a combination of different Northern breeds so they reached out to shelters in Alaska, where I saw him on a website run by a friend of mine who finds homes for retired sled dogs.
They were calling him Pepperoni, but I thought he needed a stronger name. I also think he is a GSD/Karelian Bear Dog mix, not the Malemute/Husky and Greenland Dog that the DNA test showed.
This was his reaction to seeing snow for the first time:
Tumblr media
I think he is going to like it here in Alaska.
We have also discovered he is unclear on the proper use of dog beds...
Tumblr media
He believes every source of water needs to be thoroughly tested...
Tumblr media
Balls must be stored in holes...
Tumblr media
And, of course, no one ever feeds him, or gives him any attention...
Tumblr media
It has been a big adjustment going from 14-year old energy to 2-year old energy, but we will get through it.

random Dutch head canons that I NEED to talk about
Tumblr media
He has naturally dark brown hair
started bleaching his hair at 13, dying it a different color each year
his mom is a hairdresser and makeup artist
Fatherly issues(look at him..duh)
animal lover
has 2 dogs. An Alaska malemute named Jackie and a Siberian husky named…dog(he got the husky when he was a kid and was very set on naming him dog.)
he’d do anything for his dogs
he’s extremely tactile, love language is physical touch
he’s broken 5 bones
He isn’t diagnosed with ADHD but my boy definitely got it
He’s very protective over his friends
almost got expelled but his father payed off the school
Anger issues
after graduating he let his hair revert back to brown
he plays the drums and piano
he wears a pendent around his neck that he got from his dad
he’s a mommas boy
played baseball for a year before getting “banned” (he may have broken a kids leg..)
he cooks
sunglasses were a gift from Johnny
Certified guard dog
if he’s at home, his shirt comes off. He hates feeling constricted
he would’ve been a pop it kid
Has gone to NYC almost every new year(has taken the gang with him twice, and Johnny with him once)
johnny: “I can’t open this jar :(“
dutch: “I got this *struggles to open it just as much*”
tommy: “maybe I ca-“
dutch: “SHUT UP. I got this * continues to struggle*”
if you ask him to do something he’ll do it
he dyed his hair red because Johnny said it was his favorite color
constantly moving or fidgeting
Dutch with friends:
he and Bobby were friends before both joining cobra Kai
Bobby was scared of him at first because Dutch would glare intensely at him, only to find out that Dutch wanted to be his friend
Dutch, Tommy and jimmy became friends because of cobra Kai
When Johnny joined he initially made fun of him, calling him “Goldilocks”, “pretty boy” and a girl
bobby was the one who got Johnny and Dutch to talk(they bound over musis)
Dutch always buys the beer
he always has a hand on one of them
- with jimmy he always wraps his arm around his shoulder
- with tommy he always pats him (back, arm, leg, anywhere)
- with Bobby he will lay his head on him, or shake his arm
- with Johnny he will have his hand on the back of his neck, small of his back or on his leg
Dutch is the big spoon
they alway hang out at Dutch’s house
at first bc he had a lot of stuff to do(pool table, theater, pool, tennis court) but then because the gang just loves his mom
he definitely isn’t jealous of his mom
He and Bobby cook together
they tried to teach the others but..only jimmy seemed to get a handle on it
he and jimmy play video games together
tommy and him always go to buy the weed bc the others are too scared

This Rocks! NASA is Sending Student Science to Space
NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia is scheduled to launch a sounding rocket carrying student-developed experiments for the RockSat-X mission on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The Terrier-Improved Malemute rocket is expected to reach an altitude of about 100 miles (162 kilometers) before descending by parachute into the Atlantic Ocean to be recovered. The launch window for […] from NASA https://ift.tt/y2qH9t5

I feel like maybe OP read a not very good book and decided to make a joke about it. There are good fanfiction authors and there are bad novelists and also there are bad fanfiction authors and good novelists. I write fanfiction and I love it but I don’t consider it better or worse than original works bc they are just…not the same? Like the fundamentals are the same but its like a malemute and a greyhound they serve completely different purposes and thrive in different households. But fanfiction wouldn’t exist without original work and a lot of original works come from fanfictions that evolved so….idk.
I feel like fan fiction has given me unrealistic expectations of character development because after months of reading only fanfic, I opened an actual YA novel and boy was I disappointed

Four Hundred Kilograms of Research in Microgravity - Technology Org

Four Hundred Kilograms of Research in Microgravity - Technology Org
On 27 February 2024 at 8:27 CET the MAPHEUS 14 high-altitude research rocket, operated by the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR), successfully launched from the Esrange Space Center near Kiruna, Sweden.
The high-altitude rocket reached an altitude of 265 kilometres. It provided approximately six and a half minutes of microgravity for its scientific payload – a total of 14 experiments which were all safely recovered following landing. The findings from these experiments will benefit future space missions, the development of technology and materials, and people on Earth.
Successful launch of MAPHEUS 14: DLR’s MAPHEUS 14 high-altitude research rocket successfully completed its first regular flight with the new Red Kite rocket motor at 08:27 CET on 27 February 2024. Lifting off from the ground in foggy weather at the launch site at the Swedish rocket base in Esrange, it reached an altitude of 265 kilometres. Image Credit: SSC
MAPHEUS 14 was launched using the new ‘Red Kite’ rocket motor – a collaborative effort between DLR and Bayern-Chemie – which has now successfully entered regular operations. The rocket’s second stage employed an Improved Malemute, a military rocket motor repurposed for civilian research, also manufactured by Bayern Chemie.
This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time that Germany has fully developed the propulsion system of the high-altitude research rocket. The DLR Institute of Materials Physics in Space, the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine and the DLR Mobile Rocket Base MORABA operate the MAPHEUS research flight series together with partners from Sweden.
“Thanks to its new powerful motor, MAPHEUS 14 marked our most comprehensive and scientifically impactful campaign to date. We hope that this will usher in a new era for the project and our collaboration with numerous external stakeholders,” says Thomas Voigtmann, scientific project manager of the mission from the DLR Institute of Materials Physics in Space.
“The Red Kite motor is a good example of cooperation between industry and research. We now have our own motor, a second source, which has been developed according to our flight profile. It fits perfectly with our requirements. This is truly an advantage,” adds Felix Huber, Director of DLR Space Operations and Astronaut Training.
Red Kite – booster for research
The new Red Kite solid rocket motor serves as both the first and second stage for multi-stage high-altitude research rockets. It is particularly powerful and allows payloads of more than 400 kilograms. MAPHEUS 14 carried seven experimental units as well as a ‘shared module’, which accommodated seven small experiments.
The mission involved research organisations from Germany, Sweden, France and Australia. Some carried out unique experiments in materials research and manufacturing to advance technological developments. Others examined human and animal cells to find out how the brain regenerates and how microgravity affects the central nervous system. Patients on Earth should benefit from the findings. The experiments should also contribute to a better understanding of how cancer develops. Another notable achievement was the first completely 3D-printed experiment on board a high-altitude research rocket.
German-Swedish space cooperation
The shared module, for which the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) was responsible, housed experiments on the Cubesat scale. The MAPHEUS flight served as a technology demonstration for future space experiments on Cubesat satellites. These low-cost small satellites are proving increasingly attractive for universities and commercial users alike.
DLR continued its collaboration with adesso SE throughout the current mission. The German IT service provider actively participated in MAPHEUS 14 with an experiment relating to post-quantum cryptography. The experiment involved testing secure data transmission from space and user authentication for remote control on space missions. The company and the other experiment teams are currently analysing the unique data acquired.
Since the maiden flight 15 years ago, DLR has steadily continued to develop its high-altitude research rocket programme. The successful flight with Red Kite further broadens the experimental horizon for the next MAPHEUS missions.

RADICALS Launches On Swedish Sounding Rocket
Testing out new ways of protecting astronauts in space
The experiment – called RADICALS – has the capacity to fundamentally change how astronauts and electronics are protected from harmful radiation in space by promising to be smaller, lighter and filter out more types of radiation. The 10cm cubesat was joined by eleven other experiments making up the four hundred and forty two kilo payload on the maiden flight of the Red Kite and Improved Malemute…

Sooo last week I was at Rick's with my mom, my dad, and Jerry. I was pretty drunk but this super hot guy came up to me and started a conversation. He was drunk too and told my parents he was going to take me home lmao 😂😂 but he walked that back really fast. We hung out the whole time until I left.
Flash forward to yesterday and we went on a date. We were at Ashley's with Mike and Jerry. (: he had a flannel tucked into form fitting Levi's and a huge belt buckle. Oh and he has a curley mullet and he works at the prison. 🥰😍🥰😍
When we went back to his house we put on an Elvis record and slow danced in the living room with his husky malemute mixes around us lol.
He makes my heart race and my mind go blank. Idk why I was ever so upset about Jessy. There are so many other, better people out there that don't talk down to me or accuse me of shit because I don't respond fast enough. This is fucking RAD.
