Even though I really like Remnants Class 78 as an AU, It gets kind of boring when the same formula is repeated without much of a proper twist to the roleswap (based on my experience from a few years ago)

As much as it might make sense for Junko to put Makoto through a death trap like she would do to Chiaki in canon. In truth, I feel Makoto would simply survive it by sheer accident. If he were to step in a trap, his luck would make him trip, and a spike would just narrowly miss his head.

Makoto's luck is entirely dependent on keeping him alive in the long run. He trips and misses the wrench that Junko throws at him. He gets a busted door that eliminates him from suspension of being Sayaka's murder. Alter Ego shows up and saves him from execution. What I'm trying to get at is that he's more likely to have a higher morality rate compared to Chiaki, and straight up killing him isn't gonna be simple.

In short, give him Remnant rights or we'll have a problem/j

The urban dictionary defines “cringefail” as “when your friend is pathetic.”

It’s fair to say that this definition could apply to many Danganronpa characters, the band of lovable losers!

But who’s the biggest, most lovable loser? It’s time to find out! Through a tournament!

The voting options will be limited to the killing game participants throughout the three main games. This is so that every participant is at least well-known amongst the general fandom and has a pretty established character for people to deem as cringefail or not.

Now, how do you determine someone is cringefail?

- Were they written as a loser with a heart of gold in the game?

- Are they a loser because of how a majority of the fandom treats them?

- Hell, are they a loser because they never make it far in these tournament things?

- Are they generally just pathetic, but you still love them?

Then vote for them! And the winner will be given the title of Super High School Level Cringefail once and for all!

Give these pathetic people the chance to get something good for once! They maybe deserve it.

Most importantly, have fun! This is all in good sport and is meant to be vessel to lovingly make fun of our favorite characters! So remember to keep it classy!

But like, platonically and non despair au (or my own personal junko is just fucked but didn’t actually start any of the games, she just created a video game or something to cope), those dynamics go hard

Kyoko and Junko, they would be besties, I mean they hate each other, but they’re besties

Sayaka and Junko are absolute best friends, Kyoko (Sayaka girlfriend, kirizono rights), hates it, but loves Sayaka and to be completely honest, Junko does really intrigue her

Also Junko would fuck with Makoto all of the time

You know Leon and Junko could also be good friends

outta curiosity is Makoto also a remnant in the THH remnants AU so all of class 78 are remnants, the izuru of the group like Hajime and rantaro in the RemV3 AU, or is he getting the Chiaki treatment (like in most aus)???

Okay so! Makoto definitely isn’t getting the Chiaki treatment lol, at this point there aren’t plans for any of the class to die (I think at least, I vaguely remember CircusComics suggesting somebody but I can’t recall who lol).

Makoto is a bit of an interesting case though, he’s affiliated with the remnants and officially part of the team, but he’s not really in despair. He’s stuck around this long because he cares about his friends and wants to keep them safe, but he doesn't experience despair the same way the others do. His Ultimate Hope powers have meant he could avoid the brunt of Junko’s brainwashing and manipulation, but she (up until locking herself in Hopespeak with class 77) and the other thh kids have still been trying to get Makoto into despair.

He’s usually on house arrest at their main base so Kyoko (the de facto leader once Junko dies) can keep an eye on him, and the only times he actually gets to leave is when he’s visiting with the rest of the class wherever they are, but he doesn’t really get to ever be unaccompanied by at least one remnant, just incase he got any bright ideas about contacting the Future Foundation.

The reason the remnants aren’t being more proactive in trying to force Makoto into despair is pretty early on Hagakure used his talent to look into the future about it, and saw that eventually Makoto was going to be in despair, so it was just a matter of waiting.

Now as for Kamakura, you’re right that it’s not Hajime this time around. Still someone with ties to class 77, and someone from the reserve course, someone who believed she deserved to be in the main course, that she was just as talented and important as her big brother…

Ficlet

Description: Dr1 survivor (Makoto Naegi) reacts to the world that never had the tragedy happen after his killing game.

First person pov

It's finally over... We defeated Junko and now we get to escape. I fear the world is just as she showed us.

As Kyoko, Byakuya, Toko, Hina, Hiro, and I open the doors happy to finally leave this dreadful place. We are shocked to see the world just as we had left it 2 years ago.

Everything wasn't in shambles, the sky was blue and the buildings werent torn apart and the streets were filled with cars and not people who had become zombies with only despair on their mind.

We chose to walk a little bit farther into the hopes peak courtyard and finally was saw someone who wasn't Junko or ourselves. Or a crazed despair bear set on having us kill each other. It was a man in a black suit, he has sunglasses on and a earpiece. He also had his dark brown hair jelled back into a smoothed back hair cut.

He looked at us and suddenly got surprised.

"You 6! You're part of the 16 students that went missing in that building 2 years ago!! Come with me! We just need to ask you some questions then we can take you to your families, " The agent told us.

I was surprised that he knew us but we are probably famous.

We went with him and were asked about what happened and we told them what happened during the killing game and how all the others were dead.

And then we were let go so we could return to our homes.

I was so surprised about the world being ok that I totally forgot to think about if Komaru and my parents were okay! I'm sure the others were worried sick for theirs. That reminds me of poor Sayaka... She was so worried about her idol group that she wanted to kill someone to get out. I should check up on them and see how they are doing. Maybe tell them about Sayaka...

I arrived at my door to my house and hesitated before pressing the doorbell, I faintly heard a "coming! " coming from the other side. It sounds like my younger sister Komaru just slightly older.

The door opened to reveal that the person was indeed Komaru, she looked at me for a moment and then began to burst into tears before hugging me. "Makoto! You're safe! You're back!!! Where were you? Mom, Dad, and I were so worried! " Komaru said fastly

Suddenly my parents came to the door and look at me and came running to the door and grabbing me into a huge group hug. We were all crying.

"Makoto we missed you so much! I so glad that you're safe! " My mom said between her sobs

"I'm home mom, I'm finally home" I said.

I will never forget my classmates that fell in the killing game but right now I'm so happy to be home and to see my family safe and sound.
