Unlock your makeup skills with comprehensive Makeup Course – From Beginner to Pro!
The best makeup courses should provide hands-on experience and opportunities to practice your skills in a real-world setting.
Introduction to Makeup Course
Choosing the right makeup artist course can be a daunting task, as there are many options available. However, there are a few key factors to consider when deciding which course is best for you.
Accreditation: One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a makeup artist course is accreditation. Look for courses that are accredited by reputable organizations or associations, as this ensures that the course meets certain standards and that your certification will be recognized by potential employers.
Curriculum: Look for courses that have a comprehensive curriculum that covers a range of topics, including makeup techniques, product knowledge, and business skills. The best makeup artist courses should provide hands-on experience and opportunities to practice your skills in a real-world setting.
Duration: The duration of the course is also an important factor to consider. Some courses can be completed in just a few weeks, while others may take several months or even a year to complete. Consider your personal schedule and how much time you can commit to the course before making a decision.
Cost: It’s essential to evaluate the cost of the course to ensure it aligns with your budget and financial goals. Look for courses that are within your budget, but also consider the value of the course and the potential return on investment in terms of career opportunities.
Reputation: Finally, consider the reputation of the course and the school offering it. Look for reviews and testimonials from past students, and research the school’s reputation in the industry to ensure that you are choosing a course that is well-respected and will provide you with the best possible education.
In general, a diploma or certificate program that covers a range of makeup techniques and includes hands-on experience is a good choice for aspiring makeup artists. Some examples of popular makeup artist courses include the Master Makeup Artistry program, the Professional Makeup Artist program, and the Advanced Makeup Artistry program.
Ultimately, the best course for you will depend on your individual goals and needs as a makeup artist. Take the time to research your options and consider your personal preferences and career aspirations before making a decision.

Retail Makeup Artist: Retail makeup artists work for makeup brands and provide makeup services to customers who come to the store. They may also provide product demonstrations, offer makeup advice, and help customers choose products that meet their needs. Retail makeup artists may work in department stores, makeup stores, or other retail settings.
Television and Film Makeup Artist: Television and film makeup artists work on productions such as movies, TV shows, and commercials. HER STORY IS INCREDIBLE EVERYONE SIT DOWN AND LEARN FROM THIS QUEEN ⤵️
Kiana Scott, who played minor hockey system for 11 seasons, including four seasons on boys teams, gravitated to scouting from watching her brother’s games and critiquing his strengths and weaknesses.
Unaware of jobs available in hockey, she enrolled in makeup artistry college after high school, but knew her heart was in the sport.
She eventually enrolled in an online hockey general manager scouting course.
Scott joined the International Scouting Service Hockey mentorship program in 2018 and scouted for the service for two years while holding down two jobs.
“I love scouting future prospects, and the evaluation process,” she said. “I think that's kind of where my passion lies. It's just the evaluation process. And it's exciting, building a team.”
Scott spent two seasons as a full-time scout for Erie before she took a bold step and left the organization to move to Calgary and became an independent scout in June 2022.
“I just kept practicing my craft and kind of paid my own way, like, throughout the whole year,” she said. “All of the tickets to every game, all of my travel expenses, everything. I just put all my money into scouting and trying to evolve and then I ended up getting my (Avalanche) internship the next year.”
Scott had some financial help from her family for the move and she supplemented her income by working as a bartender at a Calgary casino, a job with hours that allowed her to scout games.
If all that wasn’t enough, she also enrolled in the University of Florida’s online sports management program.
“I've always had the mindset to just keep betting on myself and working hard and evolving,” she said. “I think I've taken a lot of risks to get to where I am, but I wouldn't try to change the journey for anything.”
Scott said she hopes women, women of color and people who don’t come from a so-called “traditional” hockey background will follow her on the journey.
“I grew up playing hockey, but I didn’t play professional hockey, I didn’t go to college or university for hockey,” she said. “I just had a passion for it. I love scouting. I worked at it, and I continue working at my craft.
“People that don’t necessarily come from the traditional background, I hope they see themselves in me and believe that they can put their minds to it and get it done.”
-----
The 2024 NHL Draft was as eventful for Kiana Scott as it was for the players who were selected in the seven-round event at Sphere in Las Vegas last month.
The 25-year-old Barrie, Ontario, native signed with the Colorado Avalanche at the draft to become a full-time amateur scout, fulfilling a goal she has had since she was a teenager.
“This is something that I've worked really hard for my whole career to be able to sign my first NHL contract,” Scott said. “I was elated. The Avs have been really good for me the past year, and I’m excited to keep building with them.”
Scott joined the Avalanche after working as an intern for the organization.
Colorado general manager Chris MacFarland said he and executive director of hockey operations Suzanne Borchert “were impressed with her work ethic and her passion."
MacFarland said: “Kiana was on our radar when she was scouting in major junior circuits ... and it worked that a few years ago we had an internship opportunity for her.
“She did a good job in that role and was an integral part of our amateur scouting department. We’re excited to see her contributions moving forward in her full-time role as an amateur scout.”
-----
Scott made history when she became the first woman scout in the Ontario Hockey League with Erie in March 2020.
She was among the initial of a wave of women who were hired in recent years as scouts at all levels of hockey, including Cammi Granato (Seattle Kraken), Blake Bolden (Los Angeles Kings), Krissy Wendell-Pohl (Pittsburgh Penguins), Meghan Hunter (Chicago Blackhawks), Gabriella Switaj (Anaheim Ducks) and Brigette Lacquette (Chicago Blackhawks).
Granato moved on from Seattle to become an assistant general manager for the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 10, 2022, and Hunter was promoted to assistant GM by the Blackhawks on June 22, 2022.
“When I first started scouting, I didn’t know of any women in the industry already,” she said. “Cammi Granato got her job with the NHL a year after I started scouting. That’s when I kind of knew it was possible. But I never had anyone to look up to. I just had this dream and the passion for hockey. I knew that I had to the talent and skill to do it, and to try to keep building on them.
"That’s what I’ve always gone off on -- keep evolving, never give up on what you love.”

Hi everyone, my name is Maudlin. I'm 29 years old and I dream of becoming a apparel designer and makeup artist. I have big dreams, passion, resilience, tenacity and the heart of an artist. What I don't have is familial support, financial stability or the stable foundation of a good home life to realize these dreams. My two sources of income were depop and a part time job (less than 15 hours a week) and my depop just got suspended and it'll take some doing to get it back again. I'm currently looking for steadier income, but while I navigate the job market for something viable, I'd like to start saving what I do have to start my business(es). I have long term plans of starting a makeup artistry business, for which I have proper training, as well as plans to attend an online fashion merchandising program. I need about $1000 worth of materials to start my makeup business and have it be self-sustaining, and the fashion program tuition is $999. Until I can put the puzzle pieces of my future into place, I need the emotional and material support of friends, family (besides my mom lol) and a wonderful online community to whom I am forever indebted. Reblogs of this post are just as special to me as donations, and I can't begin to express my gratitude for any help you may have to offer. Thank you.

You're Awful, I Love You: Part 39
Sentry took a deep breath. The theater certainly was grand, and the drama of it all, the beautiful sets and costumes, the powerful music, it was wonderful. But the stuffy nobles were an eyesore, they couldn't appreciate the artistry here. He realized with disappointment it was unlikely there would even be a real death at the end, even as he read the program. Still, the synopsis spoke to him. He leaned against the wall and skimmed through it. The paragraph describing the final act stood out. 'Count Roderick, realizing the subterfuge of Baron Aurelio's family, races back to his friend's side only to find him mortally wounded and dying. Regretful, he sings of their deep friendship, holding his bleeding friend as he passes in his arms, swearing vengeance for his fate.' “Of course, they're 'friends'” Sentry chuckled. “Gods forbid these dull witted nobles realize the obvious.” But still, he tucked the program into his vest as he continued his walk, the music of the orchestra swelling behind the doors. On stage had been a scene of some vapid half-elven beauty singing about love and innocence, the sort of thing these patriars were REALLY here to pretend they believed in. He passed through the halls and to a small, nondescript door at the end of the corridor, ducking behind a decorative pillar as he noticed two figures standing there, the half-orc actor from the beginning and that girl again. He was grasping her hands, which Sentry was just realizing were quite frail and delicate, there was a pallor to the grey-blue of her skin up close that he hadn't noticed in the dark. He could also see dark circles under her eyes, which she was trying to hide with makeup.
“Geryn, you promised we could spend the night together.” She was saying softly. “I know, darling, but my wife is back in town, it's unexpected I assure you.” The man ran a hand over the girl's face. Sentry rolled his eyes. This cad... “Oh...I understand...Still, we could...maybe...I can meet you backstage after the others have gone?” She asked hopefully as the half-orc pulled her close, leaning in for a kiss. “Mm....perhaps, that might be pleasant. Very well, dear Jaina, my dressing room in one hour.” He kissed her and then disappeared back through the door. “I certainly hope he's your next target.” Sentry stepped out, arms folded across his chest, an eyebrow raised. The girl gasped in surprise, taken aback. She looked up at Sentry like a deer observing a hunter and took a nervous step back towards the wall. “My next target?” “Oh...right, it's the clothing...Yeah, this isn't my usual get up, is it?” Sentry chuckled with a shrug. “Forgive me, I didn't realize just how appropriate a cloak was for the opera when I dressed for the evening....But...” “A cloak....” The girl thought a moment and then gave Sentry a long, discerning look, taking in his horns, his height, and then finally those black boots with the silver filigree buckles, the only part of his clothing he never switched out. “Y....You're him....” Sentry lazily examined his fingernails, feigning boredom and ignorance. “Him who?” The girl gave an exasperated sigh and glared. “Oh don't play dumb now....I saw you that night! The Dread Executioner!” The tall young tiefling rolled his eyes. “Not so loud, this song isn't THAT entertaining, someone may hear.”
“I...guess I should thank you, though...that man meant to harm my students. I didn't think I could do it alone...when my brother was late to our ambush.” She gripped her upper arms and looked away. Yes, this girl was sickly. It was harder to tell at first blush, after all, her body was far from emaciated, in fact she carried weight to her, though it was carried well. She was a pretty enough girl. Still, her pallor and the slight tremble of her limbs, not from fear, Sentry knew fear, this was the tremble of one who had stood too long without aid of a cane, odd for someone who seemed younger than he was.
“You seemed to do just fine with the other one, the one about a ten-day ago.” Sentry remarked, leaning back against the wall, arms folded over his chest. “Which means you've improved, and in quite a short time, just a couple of months, really...Have you considered assassin's work?” The girl looked disgusted, her pale blue eyes narrowed as she glared at him. “Sir, I am a teacher! Everything I do is to protect my students. I only do....that... when I have to!” “Fascinating.” Sentry raised his brows and smirked. “I never realized murder was part of a teacher's job description.” “It's....I don't....I....” She bit her lip, color rising in her pale cheeks, she bit her lip, clearly flustered. “And anyway, how did you find me here!? Are you following me? Am I a target?” Sentry sighed and shook his head. So clearly this girl wasn't trying to become an Unholy Assassin. A pity, no one expects an ill girl straight out of a tragic romance novel. With training, she might have been great. But, as much as she was not trying to join his family, she also wasn't some haughty patriar. If this was her 'good' dress, Sentry felt sorry for her. He could see the tell tale signs of several mendings. It was practically threadbare and hung somewhat loose on her. Besides, the shade of her horns and her bone structure did nothing for any of his art, the shark-like skin was interesting, but young and short in stature as she was, there would hardly be enough of it for anything grand. So she was not a target either.
“No, you're not my type.” He winked and turned to leave. “Oh...but....also I assure you, that man isn't your type either. He's leading you on. Don't waste your time.” And with that, he made his way back down the hall towards the door to the private box, leaving the girl standing there, equal parts hurt and confused. As he slid back into his seat, Enver gently reached for his hand and Sentry smiled, satisfied. As their fingers entwined, he completely forgot about his previous conversation as he began to scan the crowd for a likely source of materials. He could feel the envious eyes of their hostess on his back and he reveled in it. 'Not you, old hag, you can live with the knowledge that you're his pawn and I am his king.'

Here are the make up industry details for your career
Are you interested in pursuing a career in makeup artistry? Melbourne is a great place to start, with a thriving beauty industry and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. But with so many makeup courses and schools to choose from, how do you know which one is right for you? Here are some tips to help you find makeup courses in Melbourne:
Research online: The internet is a great place to start your search. Look up makeup courses in Melbourne and read reviews from previous students. Check out the websites of various makeup schools to see what courses they offer, their pricing, and other important information.
Consider your budget: Makeup courses can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars, so it's important to consider your budget before you enroll in a course. Make sure to compare the costs of different courses and schools to find one that fits your budget.
Look for accredited courses: Accreditation ensures that a makeup course meets certain standards and is recognized by industry professionals. Look for makeup courses that are accredited by reputable organizations such as the International Make-Up Association (IMA) or the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Check the course content: Different makeup courses cover different aspects of makeup artistry. Make sure to read the course descriptions and find one that covers the areas you're interested in. For example, if you're interested in bridal makeup, look for a course that covers bridal makeup techniques.
Visit the school: If possible, visit the makeup school before enrolling in a course. This will give you an opportunity to meet the instructors, see the facilities, and get a sense of the school's atmosphere. You can also ask any questions you may have and get a better idea of whether the school is a good fit for you.
Consider the location: Makeup courses are offered all over Melbourne, so consider the location of the school when making your decision. Choose a school that is conveniently located and easily accessible by public transportation or car.
Here are some additional details about makeup courses in Melbourne:
Types of courses: Makeup courses in Melbourne can range from short workshops to full-time diploma programs. Some courses are focused on specific areas of makeup artistry, such as bridal makeup, special effects makeup, or fashion makeup. Others cover a broad range of topics, including skin care, makeup application techniques, and business skills for makeup artists.
Duration: The duration of makeup courses in Melbourne can vary depending on the type of course and the school. Short workshops may only last a few hours, while full-time diploma programs can take up to a year to complete. Part-time courses are also available for those who need to balance their studies with work or other commitments.
Cost: The cost of makeup courses in Melbourne can vary widely depending on the type of course and the school. Short workshops can cost a few hundred dollars, while full-time diploma programs can cost several thousand dollars. Some schools also offer payment plans or financial assistance options for students who need it.

I'm currently looking for steadier income, but while I navigate the job market for something viable, I may need your help to cover my phone bill and private health insurance. I have long term plans of starting a makeup artistry business, for which I have proper training, as well as plans to attend an online fashion merchandising program but will likely set up a separate campaign to help cover the cost of tuition and basic makeup materials to get started. Thank you.
