How Brahmins Rewrote History to Stay on Top
The truth is, caste was never a frozen ancient “tradition. It was a flexible system of social control maintained by the Brahmins, who reinvented it over and over again to preserve their supremacy. One of the biggest scams they ever pulled was rewriting the genealogies of invading elites, Scythians, Kushans, Greeks, Huns, Turco Mongols, to plug them into the caste order. The Brahmins didn’t resist invaders. They adapted to them, intermarried with them, flattered them, and most importantly, wrote them into the top of the hierarchy so long as their own position as priestly overlords was preserved.
They had one job: maintain varnashrama. Not to defend the people. Not to protect the land. Just maintain the chain of command where Brahmin sits on top. When foreign dynasties like the Shakas and Kushans took over, instead of being treated as mlecchas (polluting outsiders), Brahmins rewrote texts to link them to kshatriya lineages. Suddenly, people from the steppes or Central Asia were magically descended from solar or lunar dynasties. New myths were manufactured. Lineages were forged. Manuscripts were interpolated. Everything to make the foreign ruler appear “legitimate” in Hindu eyes, as long as he patronized temples, gave cows to Brahmins, and funded the writing of Puranas.
Take the Gupta period. It’s seen as a classical Hindu golden age, but half those rulers were likely of foreign origin, possibly even Huna. Yet Brahmins celebrated them as defenders of dharma. Why? Because they reinforced the caste order, gave land grants, and let the Brahmins act as ideological police. The invaders didn’t come with a script. The Brahmins wrote it for them. They provided the ritual authority, the Sanskrit gloss, the sacred legitimacy. In exchange, they got land, power, tax exemptions, and the legal right to enforce caste apartheid.
This happened over and over again. The Rajputs are the most blatant case. Originally pastoral tribes, possibly of Central Asian extraction, they rose in power after the fall of older dynasties. So what did Brahmins do? They gave them fake kshatriya status. Composed origin myths. Created fake genealogies tracing them back to ancient epics. They even built whole texts like the Prithviraj Raso to make these upstart warlords look like defenders of dharma, even when their ancestors were nowhere near India 500 years earlier.
The Ahoms in Assam? Same thing. They were Tai invaders from Yunnan in China. But after settling, they married into local elites, and the Brahmins got to work inventing lineages. They were converted into Hindus, their ancestors were Sanskritized, and their royal house given a respectable slot in the varna matrix. Same with the Marathas. Same with some branches of the Jats. If you had land, power, or a kingdom, Brahmins would offer you a way to enter the system, as long as they remained the high priests of the whole arrangement.
Even with the Mughals, you see echoes of this logic. Akbar didn’t just marry Hindu princesses. He built temple alliances and had Brahmins write flattering histories about his reign. Though they were never fully absorbed into the varna system, the Mughals patronized Sanskrit scholars and received ritual legitimation from certain Brahmin groups. The goal was always the same: normalize foreign rule under Brahmin control. Make the caste system wide enough to include invaders, but never question Brahmin superiority.
This is why “Hindu unity” is such a lie. The caste system was never about cultural purity. It was about power. Brahmins would absorb any foreigner into the upper order as long as that foreigner bowed to their supremacy. They could be Muslim, Buddhist, Central Asian, Greek descended, or anything else, it didn’t matter. As long as they built temples, made the right donations, and agreed to let Brahmins control ritual and law, they got a place in the club.
The people who were never given entry? The dalits. The tribals. The people who toiled the land and made civilization possible. They stayed outside the system. The Brahmins would rather rewrite history for a Central Asian horse lord than give dignity to a native cobbler or sweeper. That tells you everything you need to know about the function of caste.
And now in modern India, that same game continues. Look at how Hindutva absorbs anyone, from Rajput Muslim syncretic traditions to South Indian Dravidian elites, as long as they’re willing to play the game of cow worship, temple nationalism, and Brahminical supremacy. Caste supremacy isn’t a relic. It’s a shapeshifting weapon. And Brahmins are its original engineers.
Every time power changed hands, they didn’t resist. They didn’t rebel. They rewrote the script to stay relevant. That’s not religion. That’s political opportunism with a sacred mask. And it’s been happening for over 2000 years.

Me wondering why do I like long hair in fictional men even when they are morally corrupted and I usually go for green flags but then I realised I grew up watching them

Honestly they made me a better person. Today whatever I'm is shaped by their teachings and learnings. 🩷

Hinduism’s War on Women Is Not a Glitch, It’s the System
Hinduism, as codified in the Manusmriti and enforced for over two thousand years, has institutionalized a level of misogyny so deep, so systemically violent, that calling it a “patriarchal religion” doesn’t even begin to describe it. This is not just a religion with sexist verses. This is an entire theological legal system designed to break women down to subhuman status. There is no mercy, no loophole, no exception. A woman in Manusmriti is not a person. She is property. She is pollution. She is danger if left unguarded and a sin if she tries to live free. The core of Hindu orthodoxy doesn't just fear women’s independence. It views it as a threat to the entire caste order. That’s why the oppression of women isn’t a side effect. It’s the foundation.
People who’ve never read Manusmriti parrot phrases like “Hinduism respects women” or “Devi worship proves women were honored.” Absolute lies. Manusmriti doesn’t leave this vague. It is clear and brutal. Women are to be controlled by their father in childhood, their husband in youth, and their sons in old age. She is never to be free. It says women are fickle, impure, lustful, untrustworthy, born of sin, incapable of independence, and fundamentally unfit for learning, leadership, or liberation. This isn’t symbolic. It’s law. Law that was used to bar women from education, priesthood, property, travel, divorce, inheritance, and self defense for over two thousand years. Law that said widows must either die with their husbands or live in utter isolation and shame.
And no, don’t bring up “Devi” worship as a defense. The same culture that bows to Durga will kill a girl for choosing her own husband. The same temples built to honor goddesses have banned women from entry for being “impure.” Goddess worship is not women’s liberation. It’s spiritual tokenism. A psychological trap to make women accept chains while calling them divine. Durga kills demons, sure, but she doesn’t inherit land, choose lovers, or speak in public. This isn’t feminism. It’s patriarchal cosplay. The real women of Hindu society have never had that power.
The caste system and the oppression of women are not separate. They are welded together. The purity of caste is guarded through the control of female sexuality. That’s why upper caste girls are policed with honor violence and lower caste women are raped with impunity. Dominant caste men have weaponized women’s bodies as symbols of community honor and they’ve done it with full state backing. Manusmriti openly says that a Brahmin raping a Shudra woman is not a crime. It says lower caste men touching upper caste women pollutes them forever. This isn’t just misogyny. It’s state sanctioned sexual apartheid.
Marriage laws completely rigged. Manusmriti allows Brahmin men to take women from lower castes as wives or concubines but forbids the reverse. Dalit women have been historically viewed as hypersexual, disposable, and “available” to dominant caste men. This dehumanization is older than colonialism, older than Islam, older than any outside influence. This is not foreign. This is homegrown Hindu fascism in its rawest form.
And it’s still alive. Modern India loves to pretend this is all “ancient” or “no longer relevant.” But the laws governing marriage, inheritance, sexuality, and religious office are still drenched in Manusmriti logic. Women still get disowned for marrying out of caste. Women still face honor killings. Women still get gang raped by dominant caste mobs who walk free because the system protects them. The courts, the cops, the families, the temples. They all follow the Manusmriti spirit whether or not they say it out loud.
Even the Hindu right wing, which claims to defend “Indian culture,” is obsessed with controlling women. They lynch Muslim men for marrying Hindu women. They pass laws banning interfaith love. They call feminists “anti national.” They treat menstruating women as unclean. This is not conservatism. This is straight up Brahminical fascism repackaged for modern politics. It’s about locking women back into the cages Manus handed them millennia ago.
Westerners don’t get it because they think of religion as personal faith. Hinduism, especially in its Manusmriti form, is not about faith. It’s about statecraft. It’s a system of violent control dressed up as tradition. And when people, especially liberal NRIs or upper caste influencers, try to defend it as “complex,” or say “not all Hindus,” they’re complicit. You don’t get to defend a book that literally says women are impure and born of sin, and then claim it’s about peace.
No Abrahamic religion has enshrined misogyny in such caste coded detail. No other ancient text says women must be forbidden from reading holy books or punished for speaking freely. No other system justifies rape, widow burning, child marriage, forced illiteracy, and honor killing with such divine finality. What the Taliban does with guns, Manusmriti did with hymns and court orders.
This is not just about reclaiming feminism in India. It’s about annihilating Brahminism. Because you cannot liberate women without destroying caste. You cannot free a society where divine law says women’s bodies are pollution. You cannot coexist with an ideology that sees half the population as unfit for freedom. Hindu nationalism is just Manusmriti with nukes. And every woman who wants to live, to speak, to learn, to love, has to make it her mission to burn it to ash.
Until then, every time you say India is rising, remember this. Half its people are still legally, socially, spiritually enslaved. And their jailor is not foreign. It is the Manusmriti.
