Meet Fat Fin, the father of Sardon, Cironus and Kaso! Based off a real orca with the same name and known for his wide triangular dorsal fin.

Orca fathers don't have a hand in raising their children since they live in separate pods, so there would be no bitterness between him and Lurona. But he would visit every so often to see how they're doing.

Just watched Manlybadasshero's let's play of the game South Scrimshaw and let me tell you

This is what stories about animals should be about

The game is a fake documentary of a species of adapted whales in an alien planet but it's so fucking good and if you love biology/ecology/animals give it a watch

And i love that the writer of this Visual Novel doesnt anthropomorphise the animals. Because that's what an animal story should be about. Their lives are amazing without having to give or interpret them in a human behavior mannerism

I want to reach that kind of storyline with my own stories

Trying to catch up with Whale Weekly and i’m so glad i have not given up yet (again).

Just finished Chapter 42, The Whiteness of the Whale and. yeah. it’s one of those moments when reading a classic that you go “hold on his writing is fire?!!?” and realize why it is a classic.

Okay, I have a serious question.

Do we think Iceland has voice cracks often? How does he react when he has them? How do the others react?

I think he has them out of nowhere, but he definitely has them. I like to believe he makes his voice always sound a little more firm than he actually naturally speaks, so whenever he puts too much strain on it to sound more mature he gets a voice crack

He just completely stops talking. Him being embarrassed just turns into him being very stubborn. The conversation is over, basicslly.

Norway and Denmark would have a bit more fun with this than the rest of the nordic—it's more typical of family to make small teases about voice cracks. I feel Denmark starts the whole "well youre going through a time with a lot of change-" speech just because it's amusing when ice then has to tell him to shut up, followed by a threat of some kind

Speaking of threats, I like to believe ice threatens his family with really inane things. "I hope you have bad sleep tonight" or "im going to put licorice in your food when you least expect it"

Norway.. takes his role as the older brother very seriously: teases the hell out of him, and when ice goes into his 'stubbornly refusing to talk because he knows nor will tease him' norway tries to get him to talk by saying things he knows iceland has strong opinions about.
