I absolutely get if this is one you can't really answer, but as they say, nothing ventured nothing gained.

I remember hearing once upon a time that Shadow has all the various locks and red tape over his character that makes him particularly difficult to write for. Call it wishful thinking, but with his recent appearance in Prime - with a prominent role no less - I'm wondering if some of those restrictions have been lifted or changed? I know you aren't involved in Prime, but I figure if those rules have changed, you'd know about it.

tl;dr - have the rules around writing Shadow changed, and is there any shot we'll see him again in the spotlight soon.

Yup-- We've gotten some clearer, more workable guidelines for how to handle him! I had very little trouble writing his part in the upcoming issues, and SEGA's notes actually freed me up to write him more how I'd like to.

YES. Keeley was ABSOLUTELY into it!! tbh so much of the jamiekeeley s1 relationship that people talk about as "problematic" is really just that they're Like That. Like that's their mutual dynamic!!! Can be said for that scene, the photos of her Jamie keeps in his locker, the "I look like a banker with a great cock" "Babe, if those existed we wouldn't be together"... and while i do think their dynamic would be much different with their s3 selves, I also think those moments are very much Not a Big Deal and DARE I SAY... even fun and cute!

Thinking about the idea of a James Tartt Sr. redemption, and I feel like some people just forget about Amsterdam? Or just don't take it that seriously? Like, I can freely admit my own biases and that I wouldn't have appreciated a James Tartt Sr. redemption arc even if Sunflowers had never been written, but I feel like it does deserve to be a part of this conversation. James's abuse wasn't limited to cussing his son out about football and throwing boots at his head.

Inspired by how he acted in BG2, I like to imagine that Bhaal talked to Durge in their sleep while sometimes taking the forms of Sceleritas and the Chosen - especially Orin (and I'm assuming the journal entries are snippets of what he said to them in those dreams). Maybe sometimes their dead siblings at the Tribunal? And sometimes Bhaal takes their form, and maybe sometimes using the companions' (especially a love interest's).

Also he absolutely brutally killed their friends in front of them in their dreams at least once.

like genuinely i don't think 250 will ever stop making me upset. it's just. the absolutely brutal flanderization/misinterpretation of every single character. how lauren just fucking left. how kevin was perfectly fine after his apparent murder in the previous episode. how nothing happened during the weather. the abuse monologue. how cecil suddenly thought kevin was on laurens side. no charles or donovan. no further comments on lauren being manipulated by the smiling god just like kevin was. there were no voice actors other than cecil. i had to write the transcript for it bc they didn't post it for months. i. just. i don't know. i don't know.

i think what is interesting about march is that while all the characters are multifaceted in various ways he is much less one dimensional than anyone else. like eiland is obsessed with archeology adeline with government luc with bugs juniper has her whole mean witch schtick valen tells you to take walks etc. etc.

and while march IS a nerd about blacksmithing obviously he also has a lot of other stuff going on like. he clearly has self-esteem issues and anger issues and is fiercely loyal to his brother and to mistria and that makes him lash out at you. but also he's snarky in a funny way and as he warms up it's more playful and more interesting. idk what i'm saying ig his whole mean guy covering up insecurities thing is actually working for me now that he's opening up more

honestly my real opinion on ai is not even from an ethical standpoint. my opinion on ai is that because it isn't actually artificial intelligence that is a misnomer it's not intelligent and it doesn't think it is therefore just plain not good at most of what we're currently using it for outside of like hyperspecific applications that i know nothing about and never will. it simply can't do the job man.
