New headcanon of the day: Shadow Milk would sing really loudly and dramaticaly teenage girl pop songs to annoy the fuck out of the other beasts. And also did with Elder fairy. And he now does it to annoy Pure Vanilla. I am a firm believer that Pure Vanilla in his nightmares sometimes he founds him singing "Call me maybe" in the most obnoxious and fake girly voice he can. And everytime he is going on with his day and "Oops I did it again" randomly gets stuck in his head, he knows is Shadow Milk's fault.

This also aply to songs from adds or any really well know song.

I’m a TA. Your TAs are students too. I get it. College is a Lot. Sometimes you can’t come to class. Sometimes you can’t finish your work by the deadline. It happens.

We’re willing to work with you if you tell us.

I have 50 students in my “Intro to World Archaeology” class. I prepare the discussion sections, I grade the essays and exams. I have plenty to do. I am not going to track you down and ask why you didn't come to class last week or if you need an extension on your work or if you would like me to email my comments on your draft to you if you didn’t pick it up on the day I handed it back. I cannot read your mind. I do not know your life. You have to approach me.

If you didn’t get your feedback, let me know! If you can’t come to class, let me know! If you need an extension on a project, let me know! You don’t need to give private personal details, but you need to at least tell me ahead of time that you can’t make it! If you never email me or approach me after class or come to my office hours, I can’t know what you need! Your TAs are tired grad students, they will sympathize with you, it is our job to work with you and help you, but you have to be the one to ask for what you need.

And seriously, if you have any questions, go to your professor’s or TA’s office hours. That’s what they’re there for!!

just watched The Substance and I'm so happy I decided to go and watch it, after all! it was so good!!! the body horror was spectacular, the acting was superb, everything was just right, honestly. it was horrific and hilarious at the same time (especially toward the end), which made me feel terrible for laughing as hard as I did, because on a deeper level, none of those scenes are funny, but on a movie level, they were hilarious (and had genuine comedic elements, so in a way, you're supposed to laugh, and you're most likely also supposed to feel bad about that). truly, I love Coralie Fargeat's style! her movies are so incredibly stylistic in the best way, I love it so much! <3 (please also watch "Revenge", if you liked The Substance. that movie of hers is amazing as well! but make sure to read the warnings or short plot summary of it because it deals with triggering/sensitive subject matters!)

being obsessed with dimwit (tim/dally) is actually horrible because everytime I see/hear anything that pertains to romance I think about how they'll probably never have that. Like, they're lovers, but that term doesn't feel right; hell, are they even friends?? Yeah, they're buddies, but there's something more they're too afraid to ever reveal. It's something hinted at only when deeply inebriated or whatever. They hate and love eachother except that love part is a little questionable too depending on how you characterize Dallas. Poor Tim is always left behind!! And Sylvia!!!

i think what a lot of people (i include my best friend here who has had a really bad breakup that she was hung up on for two years) have to realise is that if it didn't work out with a person, or they were toxic for you, doesn't mean that person is an abuser or that you've been abused. abuse, emotional or otherwise, is a very specific thing, and if you suffered emotionally that doesn't mean you've been abused, even if it felt horrible. it really irks me when people are like i have experienced TRAUMA like you have experienced a breakup, and it hurt a lot and you have abandonment issues and you're human. welcome to the club i guess, it sucks but you'll recover!

I know on the outside from a civvie perspective, it's all "doctors work with nurses work with doctors" but I can tell you straight the fuck away right now I can name you like 3 nurses who can point out which instrument is called a "double action rongeur" and maybe 1 who can tell you what it's used for. I can't think of any who could tell you what order it should appear in a discectomy, if it does at all.

(I'm just saying nobody, not even the original podcast, thought to interview the techs who worked with this man. I can tell you right now when we have had bad technical surgeons, it is every tech shit talking them and writing them up for shit. If a nurse is doing it, it's bc you have a tech who doesn't know where the safety report hyperlink lives)

Thinking about how Lark and Normal had such different reactions to what they saw on the throne and how ‘Larks’ entire monologue was about how it was all his fault, about how Lark blames himself for everything that has happened, and earlier in the series Sparrow refers to ‘what they did’ but Lark says it’s what he did

Thinking about how when Henry touches Lark on the throne he feels Love, Confusion, Betrayal, Sadness and Anger.

How Anthony says that he looks at Lark and sees sadness and self hatred in his eyes

How in Anthony’s monologue the Doodler specifically feels Lark’s self hatred and resentment. How it’s that that grows into the resentment for everything in the world.

It’s your fault and everything is bad- and it’s obviously not just the Doodler that feels that way

About how the Doodler looks at humanity as it’s dad, but also it resents humanity as much as it loves it and wants it’s validation

These flashhbacks are only a few years post season 1- sure he’s older but he is still a literal child being confronted by the weight of these emotions from an eldritch being that directly parallel so much of what he’s gone through and actively stem from the choices he made

Does he say they have to kill it because he knows what it’s like to feel this way? Because he knows what that rage and resentment feel like to him, a human being, and knows what it grew into for him, and can you imagine how much worse it is coming from the Doodler? They can’t risk not stopping it and the surest way to do that is to kill it?

Does he say it because killing the Doodler is the only way he’ll be able to forgive himself for releasing it? To make sure this can never happen again, by getting rid of it completely?

Or does he say it because he can’t imagine a way to help it? It’s just something he can’t comprehend, there’s no other way to end it, there is no happy ending.

And Normal now is the age that Lark was then, and he’s going through it too but in a completely different way! Normal is also dealing with a lot of incredibly complicated feelings, especially regarding his parental figures. He’s darker than he was at the start of the series, but all he wants is to be loved respected for who he is.

And maybe it makes a difference, but he has a support system that’s not just one person (Sparrow for Lark)! He has friends, and people to talk to and he still has so much hope for himself and compassion for the world, so of course that’s going to extend to the Doodler. This entire time the teens have been saying they need to find another way, that they can’t doom a whole planesworth of people just to save their home

So like. Why wouldn’t that extend to the doodler, now that they know it’s an option??
