Duckvember Day 11: Mechanical Duck

Little B.O.Y.D. has had some minor glitches in his system. But kind and sweet Lyla Lay has decided to help him, after all she is a very advanced android.

But nothing is free in this life. So in exchange for helping him, she hopes that the sweet boy will actually give her the location of the famous hero: Duck Avenger (Paperinik).

I need to be able to read more of the Ducks' comics, they have some amazing universes. Especially the super hero version of Donald.

As it's been ages since I last published any of my drawings on this site, I decided to put all the pictures I've drawn in the last... many months... in one post. These were supposed to be part of much longer series, where I would draw ALL my favourite Disney Comic's characters (starting with ducks and then advansing to mouse verse), but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue that project anymore. Currently my fics (3 Hazbin Hotel wips & 2 PKNA translations) are keeping me too busy to take time to sit down drawing (not to mention that the busiest time in a year is just around the corner).

In case I decide to continue this work one day, I'll just reblog this with new parts added.

Duckvember 2024 Day 16: Macho Duck

Reviewing this prompt reminded me of a song with this name on the Mickey Mouse Disco album. (They're all dancing to this song playing in the background btw lol.) Included Lyla Lay and Boyd since they'd be friends together and Lyla would love May and June.

Female Duckverse Characters -��Six (Eight) Fanarts - Ducktales - Duckverse characters - Duckvember - Prestigious, Placid, Mechanical, Psychedelic, Otherwordly, Tenacious and Obscure Ducks (plus parrot and human goddess) - My style

I haven’t drawn a table with Duckverse/Donald Duck universe/Ducktales characters in a long time, and I’ve been in debt to female characters, so I drew a separate table with my favorite female characters from Duckverse and drew it the way I like it. Since I don’t have the means to scan it, I did a table of six or eight characters in my own way. If you want to see previous drawings with these Ducktales/Duckverse tables, check out my drawings from last year:

And I also did something related to the Duckvember themes (Prestigious, Placid, Mechanical, Psychedelic, Otherwordly, Tenacious and Obscure Ducks), which I think these characters fit into. I drew Daisy Duck (from Ducktales 2017 in her awesome dress), Della Duck (also from Ducktales 2017 as a pilot, plus she has ponytail hair because I prefer her that way, otherwise I prefer the comic version of her, although of course the DT17 version is not bad either, otherwise Donald's sister and mother of Huey, Dewey and Louie), Morgana Macawber (from OG Darkwing Duck, a witch from Transylvania and Darkwing Duck's girlfriend), Dickie Duck (Paperetta Yè-Yè, a teenage duck from Italian comics (Topolino) created by Romano Scarpa, although she also appears in Brazilian comics), Rosinha Maria Vaz (Rosita, Rosinha or Maria certainly refers to the Brazilian parrot lady and José Carioca's girlfriend), Xandra (the goddess of adventure from The Legend of The Three Caballeros series, one of my favorite human characters in the Duckverse, and I haven't drew her in a long time), Kay K (Arianne Konnery or Arianna Adelaide who works for The Agency and is a partner of Double Duck (Donald Duck), and was once his girlfriend from the Double Duck comics) and Lyla Lay (a reporter for Channel 00, an agent for the Time Police and comes from the 23rd century to fight The Organization and is often a partner of Duck Avenger (Paperinik-Donald Duck), of course she is a female duck android created by Leonard Vertighel from the PKNA (Paperinix New Adventures) comics) in my own style.

Unfortunately, I made some mistakes while drawing (especially Rosinha's left hand) where my drawing almost fell apart, but I managed to put it together. I hope you like this selection and these female characters. Yes, I drew them in my own style. I hope you like this. If you like this, just like and reblog this! Although it has passed, I certainly wish all women a happy women's day! And this month has been declared the month of women! Yes, it is celebrated on March 8! There are certainly a lot of female characters from the Duckverse, and I will leave only the most important ones from various franchises (cartoons, comics) and you have the choice to choose who you think is the best female Duck character from the Duckverse in general. Happy Women's Day once again and this is just a poll for fun and a little play!

Making an edit of Lyla Lay (who I have a crush on) to a song about being unsatisfied with men and wanting to be with women instead might just be the gayest thing I’ve ever done

Duck Comic Reading Club Week 16: Paperinik New Adventures: Second Draft

And now, the comic from this week. Have to say, it was an improvement, and it shows immediately.

This issue starts with Lyla directing an interview to Donald, who's the president of Ducklair Industries. He talks about how he got the job after Ducklair himself took him as a protegé.

Ok, we're in Quack Pack. Who'll be the genie this time?

But looks like Lyla will be Huey in this scenario.

But, turns out, she's not the only one who's having a bad feeling about what's happening.

Odin felt a disturbance in the air, and put himself in motion. After a quick trip to Time 0, Odin checked his memories and his suspicions were confirmed.

I love how good the art is again.

After a really good action sequence, with PK not having any trouble beating some bank robbers, Donald is ready to watch his interview. But his relaxing time is interrupted by some mysterious monks. Those monks claim being Ducklair comrades, and ask Donald for help.

But this is no regular monk, is a cyber monk, and has bringing a functional robot like the world has never seen.

Donald wants to commercialize the robot, as servants. But Lyla is offended by the idea, she thinks that the robots could be humanity friends.

Am I imagine this, or Lyla is a bit of a communist?

Maybe, but what its real is that Lyla wasn't Huey, she's the genie. She's the one who has altered the timeline.

But why?

Anyway, the monks and PK set a trap to Lyla, and confronted her. And now, we have the plot twist. The robot was another Lyla.

But that's not all.

What the hell is going on?

Ok, ok, it looks more complicated that it really is. Lyla changed the past, and altered the events of the present, and in consequence, the future. Odin and Lyla came back to stop her, and now, the original time line and the new time line are merging.

See? Easy.

Now, they have to capture her. But she is in some place outside time and space. With the help of the Time Police, PK and Odin raid the enemy base.

They found the original Lyla and the mastermind behind all, Geena.

Turned out Geena wanted to liberate the robots from their slavery life, and all thanks to PK. You see, he was the only one who ever treat her as an individual instead of a machine.

It actually make a lot of sense. Geena felt a bit of humanity in Donald actions, and wanted more. For her and her people. Robots. Something.

But Geena is a sore loser, and activated a bomb that would trap everybody outside time, trapping them forever. Odin explained that what she tried to do was taken out of context by other robots and a war was imminent.

That made Geena had a change of heart, and she sacrifices herself to save everyone.

Geena died a hero and we have this powerful moment.

Lyla and Donald return to their time, Odin gives Donald some memories for Uno, and the end.

This was good. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad by any mean.

Geena's final moments were the best part. Even if she was wrong in her ways, you have to admit that, there's a limit how much a person can take before fighting back.

In days where my country is suffering, and people is taking the streets, tired of living in fear, I can understand Geena.
