Duckvember Day 11: Mechanical Duck

Little B.O.Y.D. has had some minor glitches in his system. But kind and sweet Lyla Lay has decided to help him, after all she is a very advanced android.

But nothing is free in this life. So in exchange for helping him, she hopes that the sweet boy will actually give her the location of the famous hero: Duck Avenger (Paperinik).

I need to be able to read more of the Ducks' comics, they have some amazing universes. Especially the super hero version of Donald.

Who else? Who else woukd I draw? Honestly I did consider Daffy at first but it's been ages since I drew Wade, and he is the standard for coward ducks out there.

But, sometimes,he is not as much of a coward as he is just constantly afraid. Those are not necessarily the same but often overlapping concepts.

DUCKVEMBER DAY 10 & 11: Wild and Mechanical Duck

Veterans Day, Victory Day and Duckvember - Cowardly Duck (Ducks)

Happy Armistice Day, Veterans Day and Victory Day!

Although I am late, I should still say that on November 11, 1918, the First World War ended and that day is commemorated for all soldiers who died in wars. Glory to them and peace to their souls! Amen.

Regarding that day, I drew two drawings that symbolize that day. The first drawing I drew is of Scrooge McDuck (in a Scottish military uniform) and Flintheart Glomgold (he is in a Boer (South African) military uniform) fighting under the flag of Great Britain (United Kingdom) on the Western Front against German soldiers (that what is in front of them is a German eagle in a military uniform). Yes, in my headcanon I believe that Scrooge and Glomgold were friends and fought together only in the First World War, which they won.

The second drawing I drew was a crossover of Three Caballeros and Looney Tunes and it was related to World War II. He found inspiration in the classic shorts "Daffy the Commando" (from 1943), "Commando Duck" (from 1944) and "Plane Daffy" (from 1944). Donald Duck (in US military uniform), Jose Carioca (in Brazilian military uniform), Panchito Pistoles (in Mexican military uniform) and Daffy Duck (as a pilot) fight together against Von Vulture, Baron von Sheldgoose (both German generals) and Hatta Mari (spy for the Third Reich). Yes, this is also the theme for Duckvember Cowardly Ducks in which Donald and Daffy are afraid of their enemies, yet all together they will defeat the three that make up the German Reich, and the Allies ended up defeating the Nazis in the war. I used a little bit from propaganda cartoons. I apologize to the Germans if they find themselves offended by this, these are just funny drawings. And no, I am not propagating anyone's propaganda, especially the ideology of the Third Reich, which I hate. Yes, even with uniforms and weapons, I'm still trying to draw. Have a cyborg character for 20+ years and never look at a ref on how to draw mechanical limbs. Couldn’t be me. (It’s me, I'm terrible.)

This is Annabelle Knix. She’s an OC I have for Mighty Ducks the animated series. I had Duke be in a much smaller thief group before he joined the brotherhood of the blade. Anna awas one of the members of that smaller group. When Duke left to join the brotherhood, the small thief group had a heist that went terribly wrong. It was thought that Annabelle had been killed in the process.

Turns out she had not died but her kinda still alive body was taken for science by the Puckworld government to make a super soldier or something. Like you do. When the saurians attacked they  released her and were like, “hey go fight that thing,” but she was like, “How about no,” and then ran off into the night. F that noise. I’m sure he would help the resistance when she was on Puckworld though.

I vaguely remember her origin story of how she got to earth. She came along and not with a team like a lot of our other OCs. She came there alone. Maybe she had been brought over by Dragaunus like Lucretia was except Anna would be the double agent working for the resistance, pretending to be on the Saurian side. But then as soon as she saw Duke and some other members of the old thief group on earth she would be like “WELP Dragy thanks for the ride but I’m joining my buddies.” lolol

She was heavily inspired by Bunnie from Sonic and Rogue from X-Men. Gotta have that sass. Despite being a cyborg she wasn’t that tech savvy but very willing to learn stuff from Tanya so she could unlock new abilities.

11 what do you consider romance?

WOW!! Tough one! I would say I most likely fall on the side of ace and romance is one of those things that I feel like is sometimes an elusive concept for me. I DO think that romance for me would not necessarily be the physical things like gifts and flowers, although it can be...but for me it's more the simple things that people do that really say "hey, I GET you and love you for it. For instance when your partner says, "I know it bothers you when the tv is too loud so here, I will make sure it is comfortable for you. " Someone doing something like, even though it is something so very simple, melts my heart every time.

13 what are you doing right now?

I am just finishing up my next Duckvember submission for the day after tomorrow and eating some Mongolian beef.

29 what do you do when you're sad?

When I'm sad I usually find a nice quite space alone somewhere and cuddle with my cat.

Scrooge McDuck in Scottish clothes as Scottish soldier in World War I - The First World War and Victory Day, i.e. Veteran's Day

Actually this drawing is from last year when I wanted to draw something related to Duckvember for the Army Duck theme and related to Veterans Day, but for some reason I didn't finish it. Now I am and I am posting on the occasion of a special day.

On this day, November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m., Germany, as the leader of the Central Powers, capitulated and the Entente Powers won, thus ending the First World War. The First World War which started in 1914 and ended in 1918 and which was the first war in terms of the huge scale of casualties and was mostly a frontal war. About 20 million people died, and as many as 36 million were wounded. Also at the end of the war many people died from the Spanish fever. In any case, eternal glory to the heroes and soldiers who contributed to the end of that bloody feast. Except for criminals, they do not deserve such an honor. Amen.

Yes, I drew Scrooge McDuck as a redraw of a Scottish soldier serving Great Britain (United Kingdom) who wears a Scottish kilt but is a soldier. Yes I read the comics especially The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, but I am surprised how Scrooge had no part in the First World War. So I drew him as a Scottish soldier, which he is in the service of the United Kingdom, and later the USA, and he fought on the Western Front with the French against the Germans. Sorry Germans, but Scrooge was on his country's side. Yes, instead of a soldier, he would probably be a supplier of fuel and raw materials for the Entente Powers or possibly a war profiteer (Otherwise, I don't like war profiteers.). However, I think that a military role suits him better. If his nephew Donald made a special contribution to his military role in the Second World War, so did Uncle Scrooge, but in the First World War. That's my opinion and my part of my headcanon. After the war Scrooge returned to his favorite occupation, treasure hunting and banking as he had done before the war. Of course, this day is Veterans Day and Victory Day (Yes Victory Day for World War I, Victory Day for World War II is May 8 and 9) so I mark it this way.

I hope you like this drawing and you like Scrooge serving his country and you like this idea. And sorry for the bad background (It symbolizes the desolation of the Western Front.).

"Daaaad!" Gosalyn whined as she trailed behind her father as they made their way through an aisle with plants stacked high on either side. "What do you want to start a garden for anyway? Since when do you like to garden?" "Now, now, Gosalyn," Drake said in the voice he usually adopted when he was attempting to be particularly parental. "Your teacher at school suggested it would be good for us to grow fresh veggies. They are filled with nutritious vitamins and minerals."

"Yeah. That and bugs," Gosalyn said cynically. "Dear, that is no attitude to have. Besides, you need to be eating something besides all that junk food you eat all the time." "Hey! You can't beat Sugar-Ohs, they're a classic!" Gosalyn retorted. "Even so, we are starting a garden," Drake said with a finality that suggest it was the end of the conversation. Gosalyn let out a sigh, knowing it was pointless to try and argue any more. Besides, this was probably just another of her father's passing interests that he frequently invested in. She knew how to deal with them by now. It was always better to just humor him until he came to his senses again. Gosalyn suddenly crashed into something. Rubbing her hand, she glared up to find that her father had stopped in his tracks. "Thanks, Dad," she muttered sarcastically as she rubbed her forehead. Drake waved a hand, shushing her. "Quiet, Gosalyn. I think that's my arch nemesis Bushroot straight ahead!" Gosalyn came up to stand next to her father so she could get a better view. "Where?" "Over there," Drake said, his voice still hushed. He manuevered their shopping cart so it was lurking behind a particularly large shrub, perfectly concealing them from the mutant plant-duck's view. "What's he doing?" Gosalyn asked. "I don't know," Drake answered, not taking his eyes off Bushroot for one second, "but I can only guess it's nothing good! I'll have to keep an eye on him in case Darkwing Duck needs to intervene." Gosalyn silently heaved a breath of relief, knowing her father was distracted from the garden they were supposed to be planting, at least for the time being. "It appears he's buying seeds!" Drake said. "But why? What would he want seeds for?" "Maybe he's growing a garden too," Gosalyn suggested. "Nah. Too obvious. Besides, that's way too normal for someone like Bushroot. He's up to something, I just know it!" "He better not be growing any more vampire potatoes," Gosalyn grumbled, crossing her arms. "No. Wrong season," Drake said, somewhat absently. He was still honed in on Bushroot's every movement. After a moment, he motioned to Gosalyn to follow him. "Come on, he's leaving! And we're going to follow him." Now this was more like it, Gosalyn thought. They abandoned their cart and stealthily made their way through the garden store, trailing Bushroot in his wake. "Good thing we have the car and not the Ratcatcher," Drake said as they climbed into their sedan. "He'll never know Darkwing Duck is following him this way!" Starting the car, they followed Bushroot back to the greenhouse he used as a home and a hideout. --- "I told you!" Gosalyn said some time later. "He's planting a garden." "I don't believe it," Darkwing Duck grumbled. Drake had changed into his costume shortly after they had arrived, before they took refuge in a bush dense enough to conceal their presence. Then his eyes narrowed, and he leaned in to get a better look. "Wait a minute, he's not starting a garden. He's starting a... " he trailed off in disbelief, watching the scene play out before him. "Yes, grow my children!" Bushroot laughed at the sprouts in the potting soil in front of him. "I can't believe I didn't think of this before, Spike. I'll just grow my own family using basic garden saplings!"
