...what is the "sex is just rock climbing" category
It was kind of a joke between me and a friend ("you wouldn't judge someone for having gone rock climbing with a bunch of different people") but honestly the more I thought about it the more I bought into it unironically because:
It is a physical activity done with one or more partners
You should only go rock climbing with people you trust to not let you fall
You should not go rock climbing with someone who is drunk or currently incapable of rational decision-making
Some people get super super super into rock climbing and do not shut up about all the places they have climbed and how many are left on their bucket list and these people are usually men between the ages of 20 and 35 and like it's fine dude I'm glad you're happy but I don't know what most of those mountains even are
While many consider it a fun activity, pressuring someone into climbing when they don't want to (or ignoring their feelings and just dangling them off a cliff,) could cause both psychological and physical trauma
There is no moral value to it whatsoever. Who you have gone rock climbing with (or whether you have rock climbed at all) has no bearing on who you are as a person. Imagine telling someone "it's not that heights make you nauseous, it's just that you haven't found the right person to belay you!" or "you need to save your first time rock climbing for someone special." That would be absurd.
For some people it is a deep and moving personal experience.
historically I have not asked myself "will this aggravate my hip flexor injury" before participating when perhaps I should have 馃様

Yes!
I don't understand why they decided to get rid of Seiya's personal relationships other than Seika when they adapted it for "American audiences".
It is very important that Seiya and the test of the bronces know Saori as a spoiled, cruel even, brat. It is important that they are aware of Ikki and Shun's relationship. It is important that they were raised together up until they were seven.
It is also important for people at the Santuary, especially Marin and Aioria. Imagine the kid you trained suddenly being hunt down for treason. Imagine him being hunt down.
And as for Aioria, imagine seeing this very promising kid become a traitor and then discover that they lie to your your whole life pretty much.
One of the things I hate about the reboots is how they erase Seiya's relationships from existence.
Seiya didn't grow up with the other kids in the Graad foundation, didn't have beef with Saori, didn't learn from Marin and Aioria at Sanctuary, didn't have history with Shaina.
He's just some rando and I hate it
And this is something that not only affects Seiya as a character. For example, Aioria's fight with him in the hospital loses a lot of meaning.
In the original, Aioria is having an internal conflict because once again someone he cares about is revealed to be a traitor. Aioria sees Aioros in Seiya, and he wants to finish him off to get rid of the weight of the memory of his brother, and to prove to himself that he's different. He's a good and loyal saint, unlike Aioros and now Seiya
If Aioria and Seiya do not know each other, or worse, have an antagonistic relationship with each other, the meaning of this fight completely changes and the reveal that Aioros was never a traitor also loses weight
