Moon ritual for your moon sign
Tumblr media
Hello lovelies! Today I would like to talk about a ritual that I created a while back. This is a ritual that is designed to grow or invite a certain aspect of your moon sign that you might or want to experience. Please keep in mind that this is a template and you have to do research on the herbs you’d like to add. As it’s impossible for me to write this ritual for every aspect of every zodiac sign. Before I dive into the ritual, I would like to reflect upon what a moon sign is.
What is a moon sign? Your moon sign is part of the big three (sun, moon and rising) in your birth chart and is the sign the moon was in on the day you were born. Often people also find significance in the phase the moon was in on the day you were born. As this is quite a complex subject, I will leave that part out for now, but definitely look into it if you’re interested in it! Your moon sign guides your hidden and emotional parts (think of the moon card in tarot). A birth chart calculator or an astrologer can help you find your moon sign and tell you more about the aspects that are relevant to you.
Why do a moon ritual for your moon sign? What if you want that extraverted character that signifies a Leo or Sagittarius but you’re a Cancer and very homesy. Can you then not do a working for a Leo characteristic? No, obviously you definitely can do that. In fact, if that’s what you feel inclined to do, I all the more encourage you to do so. However, what I have found within my practice is that the effects of working with your moon sign will be stronger. The energy of that particular sign already resides within you and your energy. Therefore it takes less energy to bring about these aspects, as they are already there and just need to be magnified.
The ritual
What do you need?
A candle in the colour associated with the aspect of your zodiac sign that you will be working on. E.g if you want to work on the inner-creativity of Leo you might want to choose an orange candle. If you plan on doing this ritual long term (e.g repeating it whenever the moon is waxing/new in your sign to magnify the energy and aspects) you might want to choose a big pillar candle instead of a chime candle.
Three types of herbs that correspond to the aspect, Taking the inner-creativity aspect again, you might want to pick herbs like cinnamon or sunflower petals. If you plan on dressing the candle with these herbs, make sure they are safe to burn.
Any type of oil that’s NOT an essential oil. However you can dilute an essential oil that’s one of your three herbs in this oil. Then dilute one drop of the essential oil in a good amount of the regular oil.
A candle holder or a fireproof surface/plate
A candle snuffer if planning to do this long term
Matches
Something to cleanse your items with (E.g smoke, sound, moon/sun water etc.)
Mortar and pestle (If you don’t have one you can use a coffee grinder)
A tool to carve the candle
Optional: A crystal that corresponds with the aspect of your moon sign.
Timing Depending on whether this is a hidden aspect or an aspect you want to grow, you might want to choose to work with either the new moon or the waxing moon in your sign. The new moon in your moon sign only happens once a year, while the waxing moon in your sign might occur multiple times in a year. Depending on this you might decide to make it a long term working or a one time thing that you repeat every year. Important however is that the moon is in your moon sign at that given time. To further add intention to it (and make it more complicated haha) you might want to do the spell during the planetary hour corresponding to the planet that rules your moon sign. Even better if the waxing moon in your moon sign occurs on the planetary day that rules that sign. E.g. for Leo you might want to work with the sun planetary hour and day. However this makes the whole ritual complicated and is absolutely not necessary, but just adds an extra layer of intention and energy.
Steps
Very important and not mentioned enough in spells: Ground yourself!! Even though we are drawing energy from the moon for this ritual, it’s still good to draw energy from the earth. This is so that you don’t deplete your own energy levels.
Cleanse the items you feel need cleansing by your preferred choice.
If you choose to use essential oil, now is the time to dilute it in the regular oil. After diluting it, you can charge it with your intention.
Charge each herb with your intention and place it in the mortar and pestle.
Grind the herbs down in a clockwise motion, as you’re seeking to attract. While grinding the herbs down, focus on your intention and your energy flowing from you through the pestle into the bowl.
Carve your candle with your intention from top to bottom. Keep it short so that it fits on the candle. Alternatively you can create a sigil for your intention and carve it into the candle from top to bottom. Top to bottom is done as you seek to attract something to you.
Now dress your candle with the oil from top to bottom.
Lastly dress your candle with the herbs from top to bottom.
If you chose to work with a crystal as well, now is the time to draw energy from it and put it into the candle or energetically connect the crystal to the candle.
Call upon the waxing or new moon in your zodiac sign. While calling upon the waxing moon, visualise (or whatever method works for you) your energy flowing from the top of your head all the way into the sky to the centre of the moon. Visualise the moon’s energy meddling with yours and then your energy drawing down the moon’s energy into you. Take your time with it and feel free to repeat it as how often you see fit. You can choose to use the following wording or adapt it however you see fit: I call upon the insert phase in insert zodiac sign, Hear my plead, lend me your energy of insert intention So I may insert something that your intention will allow you to do So mote it be! Here is an example of how it might look like for the example of Leo: I call upon the waxing moon in Leo Hear my plead, lend me your energy of inner-creativity So I may grow the burst of ideas inside of me So mote it be!
As you have the energy of the moon in you now, add your intention to it one more time. This can be through visualising or any other method. Then let that energy flow from your hands into the candle. Really let all of it flow into the candle.
Now light the candle and meditate on your intention with it for a bit if you’d like. If you used a chime candle you can let it burn out. If you used a pillar candle, you can choose to let it burn for however long you like and then light it every time the moon is waxing in your sign.
I hope you liked this ritual and let me know if you have any questions!

I have come to terms with#the other fashion choice for him in that movie but the tiny ass choker I don't accept. that's stupid. big it#I rly like the vision of older yuugi being like. obnoxiously polite and cheerful#specifically in a way that's not like ceding space for everyone else. like it's clear at all time that he's Like That#and nobody will be able to stop him from being Like That#and also tbh I can never imagine him leaving domino for long (<- definitely not projecting my city slicker ass on him)#I think the game shop's been where he's safe to be himself for so long that he'd want to keep it running and extend#that shade to other kids in the city too. his loyal customers are so scared of disappointing him for no reason#.... typed huge wall of text abt jou leaving domino for tournaments etc frequently but always coming back to hang out with yuugi#I am actually ill abt them huh.... maybe ygo was the progenitor honestly maybe it started me on the two blokes who do fuckall ships#yuugi is so cute but I do know in my heart tho he does Not cook. that kid has never learned and will never manage#I know he doesnt even have water in his office whenever he works. scared of spilling#its a good thing hes got friends galore now people are blowing his phone up wasting their sms toll telling him to drink water#(slowly tipping into mania) I just think he's so neat. love that boy he's so cute

What the moon signs feel unable to express
*this post is part of a series on why astrology matters regardless of how much you do or don't believe in it. as our lives have become busier, more disconnected, less spiritual, and significantly detached from the rhythms and energies of the earth, we have lost the ability to express the needs that are going unmet
I believe astrology gives us a way to do this, offering a framework for how our personalities and the unconscious mind/shadow, are more complex than the frenzy of modern life reduces us to...
🏞 moon in aries - wanderlust and sense of adventure
🏞 moon in taurus - desire for and appreciation of material surroundings
🏞 moon in gemini - inner conflict, mixed feelings, and complex emotions
🏞 moon in cancer - desire for simpler things, homeliness, stability
🏞 moon in leo - challenge and personal development, rites of passage
🏞 moon in virgo - desire for a way of explaining the world.
🏞 moon in libra - community and companionship, better relationships
🏞 moon in scorpio - sense of awe and wonder.
🏞 moon in sagittarius - intellectual challenge, mental stimulation, complexity. feels hampered down by others.
🏞 moon in capricorn - desire for structure, feels overwhelmed by choice
🏞 moon in aquarius - freedom from responsibility, desire not to get bogged down
🏞 moon in pisces - moodiness, melancholia, downbeat attitude. feels pressured by toxic positivity.

Types Of Witchcraft
Note: These are general/basic explanations of different classes of magick/witchcraft. Practitioners can fall into multiple or none of these categories. Ultimately, only an individual can choose their labels.
Tumblr media
Green: Utilizing greenery/plants/herbs/flowers in herbal/nature magick, such as creating blends of different plants or primarily using herbs in spellwork. May keep a garden and take great pride in their workings/connection to the earth and nature.
Hedge/Shamanic: A type of magick that's more oriented towards spirit work, Otherworld and astral travel, dream work, spiritual power and healing. May work with psychedelic/psychotropic/toxic plants and fungi as spiritual tools (ie: flying ointments/teas made from amanita muscaria or datura)
Sea: A type of magick derived from materials/abstract ideas involving the ocean world. Sea magick is worked using various items from as well as one's own connection to the sea and its creatures.
Storm: Magick that is worked by combining one's own energy with the energy of the weather, most commonly storms. Storm witches may have practices such as collecting storm water or snow, "whistling up" or manipulating winds, or performing rituals during severe weather.
Hearth/Kitchen: Magick performed through kitchen craft and/or mundane tasks/crafts around the home or for loved ones. Typically worked daily through food, herbal mixtures, crafting, decorating, and hobbies. May also work with the Fae/elements/nature.
Tea: Those who drink tea, make their own tea mixtures, or enjoy blending herbal remedies and often use reading tea leaves as their form of divination.
Urban: For those who live in or prefer an urban setting/lifestyle. Magick that is worked in densely populated areas and big cities, without some of the seemingly "traditional" aspects of witchcraft.
Tech: Magick that is skillfully worked through technology. A tech witch might cast spells/do divinatory readings on the internet, use magick based apps/programs, or keep a digital grimoire/library.
Elemental: Magick that is worked by honoring/acknowledging all 4/5 elements (Fire, Air, Water, Earth, and/or Spirit). Elementalists may dedicate part of their alter to each element and call upon them during rituals/spells. Conversely, they may choose to focus on only one element changing the designation to either fire, air, water or earth witchcraft.
Fae/Faerie: The magick of those who work and commune with the Fae. Faerie witches may do rituals/spells around the Fae, ask favors of them, have regular communication sessions, and leave them offerings. The Fae are very unpredictable and strong but, with time and respect, they share their magick with special individuals.
Infernal: A system of spirit work/magick that revolves around Infernal spirits/entities, such as demons, djinn, or other spirits of a chaotic alignment. This practice requires a surprising amount of shadow work and dismantling of oppressive religious systems. They may summon demons, perform rituals/spells with them, make deals, or take them up as magickal familiars.
Necromancy: The practice of seeking the assistance of, summoning, communication, and diving through the dead. Practitioners may frequent cemetaries/burial grounds/haunted locations and perform magick and spiritual/divinatory readings there. Often employ the use of pendulums, dowsing rods, talking boards, black mirrors, grave dirt, and bones.
Draconian: Draconian magick is a practice that involves engaging with dragons as powerful forces and allies in spiritual practice. It can include rituals, symbolism, and techniques to connect with dragons, and may be used for empowerment, healing, and spiritual growth.
Chaos: A type of magick utilizing new, non-traditional, and unorthodox methods. It is a highly individualistic practice that draws from many magickal disciplines (eclecticism).
Blood/Sanguine: A very potent class of magick that includes the use of one's own blood or that of another in powerful rituals/spells.
Sigil/Art: The use of sigils, symbols, glyphs, runes, or artwork infused with will and intention. This practice is vast, versatile, and diverse with each practioner producing truly unique results.
Lunar: Lunar magick is the practice of performing rituals during the different phases of the Moon to bring about physical or psychological change. They may honor/worship the Moon, do moonlight rituals, or make moon waters. Conversely, one could work with the Sun in much the same fashion.
Cosmic/Celestial: Magick that incorporates the stars and planets. Astrology is a dominant force in their lives and witchcraft and they consider the placement of celestial bodies before doing a working.
Crystal: Incorporation of crystals/stones in one's magickal practice. May make crystal grids, include them in their spells, use them in energy work, meditation, or for Reiki healing.
Glamour: Glamour magick is an enchantment type that adjusts or changes your outward appearance, or people's perception of your outward appearance and can include the enchanting of jewelry, clothing, and even makeup for magickal purposes.
Shadow: Magick with a focus on the elements of darkness and shadow. May practice umbrakinesis (shadow manipulation), magickal subterfuge and illusion, and feel at peace, and even practice, in pitch black darkness
Are there any you feel I should have included? Please let me know! I'd love to expand this list. :)

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF Y'ALL SAY EARTH IS NOT JUSTIFIED IN HER DECISION!
Earth is entirely in her right to not forgive Lunar.
Earth has been betrayed time and time again this is another scar to add to the list!
She's made it very clear she still hates her dad and hates Nexus, but a part of her still cares for them like Lunar. She may hate Lunar right now, but he's still her brother. Lunar messed up BIG TIME. Every action has consequences, good and bad, and Lunar's consequences are bad. Earth is gonna have this pain for the REST OF HER LIFE!
I don't wanna hear anyone say Earth is in the wrong. She's not!
Lunar still has a lot to work through, and in time, Earth will forgive him, but not right now.

"How come you're in there?" "They're already blooming." The Gallery is a realm where Dracula keeps keepsakes from other D. Sectors he has visited. Wayne likes to come here often to see what the old guy has got all new in it since his last visit.
This was originally meant for spring 2023, but only recently did I finally get it finished!! The aesthetic of The Gallery was inspired by one of Mr. Lindroth's older games.
