Queen Otohime's monologue about not letting hate get to the children hits harder once you look at how Oda writes kids characters.
In nearly all of his potrayls, the children are akways pure, or at least, innocent.
Linlin was a kind little girl who just wanted to make friends but didn't know how to control her strenght. Carmel and the chef guy made her into a monster by ebabeling her toxic traits, thus creating Big Mom.
Yamato is nothing like his father. He was getting groomed into being a tirant like Kaidou, and in some twisted universe that actually happenned. But because he was able to see Oden at last he let his kindness and loyalty get the best of him.
And so many more examples
And even if the kids aren't perfect, (like hody and arlong in that same arc) the narrative always makes an effort in showing that even the indirect envoriement of being surrounded by hatred and just having all of these horrible things happen can deal horrible consequences to you.
Especially because it also shows young characters who are wronged being "redeemed" (i say it in quotation marks because they did nothing wrong) like Pudding, Helmeppo, and possibly the Vinsmokes if they get develoepment.
Even the main philosophy of "a child doesn't deserve to suffer for their parents's sins" that is relevant in pretty much every arc such as Water 7, Wano, Dressrosa and even Egghead. And that there is no such thing as "bad blood"
(And that's also what makes Doffy such a stand out. Because for the first and only time a child is being definied as actually demonic in nature. But I do really think it was just the CD's influence)
But at the same time, Oda shows us that children are our hope.
By making Tama a powerful resilient character who was able to survive and be side by side with who freed her country.
By having three kids being the catalyst that took down one of the biggest threats at sea 38 years ago.
By giving Bonney, a child of slaves, the biggest freedom of all and having her punch the oppressors on top.
So yes. Children in one piece are important. They rappresent the future. Going forward. Being free and kid and loved. Everything one piece stands for.
And whenever Luffy acts childish, that's just his inner child. Being as wonderful as ever.
God I love her so much

Just imagining Nami and Robin being so motherly with baby Zosan...
Not in a "this kid needs to have a mom" way but more in a cool big sister and chill-cool aunt way.
Like of course, every single ones of the Mugiwaras are very excited at having a new shipmate, but these two are particulary excited about having a new girl on the deck. Since Robin joined the crew like...forever ago now, it was the first time they welcomed a woman.
I like to imagine that the two women will spoil that little lady, with cloches, that the whole crew gives her wich mades her wardrobe very...unique, and quality time. Like when it's time for Kuina to quit her parents room, aka the boy's dorm just with a wall for separation, she'll go in the girl dorm. Nami would give her a piece of paper and crayons and draw maps with her (the drawings of persons or boats are with Ussop, but still) so this kid have some sense of direction unlike one of her fathers, and it's a good occupation for them to wait for Robin to come and read them a bedtime story. The black-haired woman would sit at the edge of her bed, or when she has things to do in the room she's just grow an arm to hold her hand and read anybook she picked earlier with the other woman. Nami would listen to Robin and little comments Kuina sometime makes while she journals.
Also they would help the kid bathes when she become a toddler (because of course, her dads would take care of this until she can walks before relaying on the girls but still), like Nami and her pretending to navigate throught the Blues with little plastic toys and Robin just messes with them by making big waves.
And when she grows, they'll teach her to take care of herself. Of course the knows how to do so, she often work-out with Zoro to stay in good shape and Sanji taught how to have a good hygiene. But Nami would give her make up tips for when she's older, since herself didn't had anyone to do so growing upp, but she always thought it would be so nice... and Robin teach her to do her hair. She has so many hands, so useful! Also her and Zoro just happen to have the thickest hair out of the Mugiwaras (excluding Ussop and Brook, but they have a whole different texture so they might not be the ones to ask help to) and the girl being a litteral copy of Zoro (from the menacing look to the shape of their jawline and cheekbones, and of course grass-green hair, wich Sanji pretends to be annoyed by because now he has two mossball to look after), well the older woman is the best placed for such a role. She'll show her what products to use and how not to damage her roots when she applies it. She'll help her to do a bunch of hairstyle, starting off with a second's head of hers (thanks to her Demon Fruit) as an exemple and test-subjet.
And from this period no Mugiwaras can escape. The child's fake make up Nami bought her (without charging it!) could be seen on everybody's face. Well except Chopper, because he's scarred it wills damage his furr, but we'll see about him later. The Kuina has being walking around offering to do the crew's make up every now and then. Brooks, Jinbei, Robin and Franky would gladly sit right on the spot (or lay in Jinbei's case) and let the little lady "paint them pretty" as she says. Nami would also, guiding her or even making her her make up in return. Ussop and Luffy would straight-up fight to know who gets to be all decorated by her first. Usually Sanji would step up in these fights and steal their turn with joy, making his daughter happier than ever while the two others idiots are crying somewhere. Zoro would also allow her, he'd wake up from his nap just for these and would just forget about it so he stay like that the whole time until Sanji almost get an heart-attack because all the eye-liner and lipgloss went on the pillow and Zoro look like an ugly scarry sea creature sleeping like this.
This didn't really went the same for hairstyles are first, because "pretty hair are for aunty Nami and aunty Robin only!!" But then she spend some time with Zeff because the crew can't take a child where they are heading and the old man teaches her how to braid. And then it's over. The whole crew, would be granted with braids made by Kuina herself. This is also the reason Zoro let his hair grows, but before his daughter can style them another swordman cut them during a fight, causing the both of them to cry along side with Ussop, Chopper and Luffy who has no idea of what's going on but he wanna fell included.
Also when these 3 play princesses, no one is safe either. They'd wear crowns and big dresses, and Nami and Kuina would be so dramatic about it. Also Chopper would almost alway be with them, as the loyal monture of the dangerous pirate-princess Roronoa Kuina. Because of course, no one there tried to raise a damsel in distress, so most of the time they were evil princesses trying to conquier the world (it's Brook who suggested it first, and they went like this since then.). Sometime they had to fight off others princesses, all dressed-up and their make-up done by Kuina a bit earlier. Once they were attacked in the middle of a game and all of them had to fight of a bunch of marines like this while Chopper made sure Kuina stayed safe in a cabine. It's at this moment that Sanji realised heels made a pretty good weapon for him. He didn't want to take anything from his dear Robin-swan, but "I gave it to Kuina, these are not mine anymore, Cook-san" and his queen just handed it to him like "Papa doesn't like my gift?" and oh my it worked. It would never accept anything material from a woman, but his own daughter? She was his weakness. How could he says no??
And oh, the girls would definitelly have the talk with her. Maybe in their dorm, one night when she's around 11 years old. Oh, and Chopper is also there. She didn't got her pediod yet, but they thought it was better to tell her about it before she does. And both her dads agreed, knowing damn well Robin and Nami would do a better job than them. Robin explains what it means and how it could affect her mood or her strenght at the moment, while Nami is gently telling her it's natural, that she should not be ashamed of it and that it was a normal thing. Chopper gave the medical details of what exactly would happens inside her body, not getting into...the dirty stuff (sex). When Chopper left they told Kuina that they were personally using period-panties, because they're more pratical when it's time to fight and more healphy in general, but they still train her to put on a pad, just in case it occurs while she's lost in a island (yes, Nami's efforts were useless, this child was just a mini Zoro girl. It's like Sanji's genes didn't even try).
And as Kuina get older the three of them have girls nights. You may ask: isn't it girls night every nights since they're all in the same dorm? No, I'm talking about girls nights when they do self-care, mask and gossping. Sanji would make them all the snacks they ask for, and because Nami's a witch she'd just ring a bell to call him and he would come like a dog. Sometimes Kuina punched her for it tho. It happens that Ussop sometimes joins the gossip sessions, because he has been Nami's gossip buddy for YEARS. Then he'd just left, leaving the girls with themself. And that's when Kuina would step up. The two women wondered why they didn't think of this sooner. But Law sure did, when he saw this small girl covered in lipstick and mascara with blank nails. (I haven't see Law apprears in the serie yet and I just looked up AND HE DOESN'T PAINT THIS NAILS???? LOOK AT HIM. OF COURSE HE DOES.) He took some of his nail polish, not many colors tho, mainly red and black and while Luffy watched with big eyes, Law showed her how it was put. And now this has become her thing. Kuina would do the girls nails every now and then, and sometime the rest of the crew could ask for it if they wanted to. Sadly the two who never asked were her parents. One because it might fall off in the food and the other because he had very damaged nails from training, and he would never take the risk to ruin something his daughter did for him. And these night would be the one where she would try new thing, like giving a winter-like look to Nami's who usualy has warm colors like yellow, red or orange, and on the other hand, give colorful flowers to Robin instead of the dark-purple and blue she always ask for. Even if her parents didn't let her paint their, they would always compliments someone's hand if their daughter touched them. Zoro would be genuily impressed by the girls nails most of the time and say it, sometime Sanji would pick a fight because of dare he compliments women in his presense? And the two mosshead would be on the same side because if that ain't a hypocrite then what is? And the Cook on his side would just be a fanboy for his queen's art.
And like Kuina just being the closest to Nami and Robin, just after her parents and Luffy, of couse, so when she leaves the crew to follow her own path she just takes Robin and Nami apart for a hug only the three of them?? Yes, that is perfect.

BLACK ADULT FEMALE READER X CHILD LUFFY, ACE, AND SABO
Warning: blood, injuries, and the cutest thing you gonna read 😢
You take care of three little monsters. Running around, getting in trouble, hunt food, steal things.
Dadan ask you to take care of them outside, and let just say they weren't happy about it.
But still, Luffy tell you adventures they did, and Ace hit luffy in the head for telling their secrets.
And you pick a fruit to eat while the boys hunt for food to eat meat, like big, crocodiles, fish.
While you pick up a fruit, you hear a loud cries. "HELP!!!" You run to see sabo up in the tree.
You were shocked, "sabo, how did you get up there!?". "I saw s-some egg up this tree, I was thinking get the eggs," he said. "Where luffy and ace!?" You question.
"Their still hunting!" Sabo cried. You looked left and right to see luffy and Ace are here, but their aren't here.
You have no choice but to climb the trees. (Oh yeah, your power is sumon nightmare monster and transform one the same thing as black female reader x shanks)
You trund your hands to claws like grey fox same thing as your foot, you took off your shoes.
You start climbing, and Sabo is shocked to see. A wind blew by so hard that caused sabo to lose his balance and fall.
You watch sabo Fall. You jump off the tree and grab sabo. As you grab him, you see you about to hit the ground. You trun your body instead of sabo, but you hold tight on him.
Your back hit the ground, causing you to spit out of blood out of your mouth. "(Y/N)!!!!" Sabo yelled out your name.
You lifted yourbody, "sabo, are you al-". "I'm sorry, ace, luffy, and I planned this!!! We thought that if you were really that strong to become a pirate!!!"
"(Y/N) I'm sorry!!!" You trunaround to see luffy coming towards you, hug you. So, as ace, they both started crying.
"It's okay. I'm alright, it just some blood, "no, it not!!! We cause a lot of trouble. We shouldn't have listened to you!!!" Ace yelled.
"Hey, hey, don't cry. Looks. When I was your age, I fell down on the ground and hurt my knees, but my mother always told me that whenever we cried, we do it with a smile"
You said, smiled with your two fingers. "Like this?" Said luffy holding his cheek, trund his mouth to a smile (still crying).
After that, you guys went. You gave luffy a piggyback ride cause he cried like baby. "So your mother said whenever you cried, you do it with a smile?" Sabo question.
You nodded your head. "She also sang me a lullaby to me." "Can we hear it?" Luffy question. You sang (it sounds like nezuko mother lullaby from demon slayer).
"Hush baby, baby bunny on the hill, tell me why your eyes are so very red, Because when my mother was expecting me, she dined on red berries from a tree, and that is why my eyes are so very red"
"So when you eyes are red cause you were your mother tummy and she ate the bright red berries!" Said luffy.
You giggle as you may it back, you and luffy ace and sabo ate, dadan still mad at the boys who were big trouble. You don't mind, you take the boys to bed.
"Goodnight boys, sweet dreams"
When you are about to close the door, you see, luffy shaking. Maybe he cold doesn't have his blanket, you put blanket on him he say this "goodnight mom" he said fall a asleep.
You smile at him and kiss him on the forehead, so as the other.
You are a great mother with them.

Glad to see you be more critical to one piece, to me it seems obvious that there has been a large shift of direction at some point - I think the Gorosei going from real-politik buerocrats, that do horrible things through tears for "the greater good", to "hahah humans are insects haha, we are literal demon monsters" is the best evidence.
The problem with the tonal shift is that Oda obviously wanted/planned to go through a shift into darker territory starting with the last part of Paradise, and then continuing into the New world.
He opened up with Luffy, sanji and zoro murdering pacifistas in rather graphic ways, the fake straw-hats being buried alive, Caribou's crew seemingly all being killed when their air bubble burst, with plans to delve into the destroyed Shogunate of Wano, Big Mom's horrific dystopia, have the kingdom of Dressrosa go through the bird cage, explore child experiments at Punk Hazard, and have the driving force for most of the New World be Luffy signing his name and crew unto several assassination plans regarding Kaido and Big Mom to take out his biggest rivals for the title of Pirate King. Nothing heroic about that.
On paper, all of that sounds like it would lead to a second part that though comedic, took itself way more seriously than part 1, and led to a comparitively darker follow up.
Of course, anyone who has read One Piece knows this did not happen. Oda ultimately didnt have it in him as a writer to go down this path he had set for himself, and the tone set early into the second half was quickly forgotten, and One Piece single biggest flaw, Oda's complete inability to ever kill off a character unless he absolutely, positively has to, returned and worse than ever, castrating the effectiveness of almost all of the part 2 arcs in one way or another.
The ultimate result is that part 2 overall actually feels way lighter in tone than part 1 ever did, with absolutely nothing part 2 ever did coming close to the horrors of the Alabasta civil war, the Marineford war and the torture palace of Impel Down.
Which puts the final part of the series in a bit of a mess regarding it's tone.
Tumblr media
Because Playtime...
Tumblr media
Is over.
Oda has now finally reached the point where he now HAS to write One Piece as he originally envisioned it, with the dark tone, and brutal battles he originally had in mind, where characters die, because he actually needs to remove them from the board now that we are here at the finish line.
Tumblr media
The problem is the fact that it's so fucking jarring.
Also he is realising he doesnt have the time left to let things play out in a slow burn as he has done all through part 2.
Tumblr media
I have no doubt that Oda originally had some plan in mind where the Gorosei would act as the usual Miniboss squad of One Piece's villains and would be fleshed out over time... But the simple, brutal fact is, he doesnt have the time left.
Oda is both Old and tired, and does't have the energy he had 10-15 years ago, but even if he had, he doesnt have the arcs left where he could take the time to introduce them one by one.
I honestly thought that was what he had in mind for Egghead, but then suddenly he realised halfway through that there wasn't gonna be any arc to do this after it. So he had to basically cram everything about them into the arc now, now, now, and he was forced to saddle all of them with the one, single fleshed out elder he had planned, so now they all have god complexes, when that probably was only supposed to be spider guy's thing.
Hey, remember that there was one of the Gorosei(The boar guy)that objected to just wiping one of their kingdoms from the face of the world for a test drive before falling into line when push came to show?
You probably dont, because it's obvious whatever that was supposed to be setting up that one of them had scrouples seems to have been abandoned/forgotten.
There are a lot of Problems with part 2, but basically most of them boils down to the fact Oda's editors didnt force him to follow through on the tonal shift, and didn't reign him in when the arcs began to baloon, and that spiraled until we ended up here at the end when everything is now for all the marbles.

Monster au
Each of the straw hats are a kind of monster
I'm pretty sure I did something resembling this ask before but I don't feel like finding it sO--
Luffy - Werewolf (one of those ones from the sixties with the insane regeneration, he's got the jorts for it)
Zoro - Demon (3 heads, 6 arms, he's not incredibly cunning, only ever had one contract to a little girl that wanted to be the greatest but her father killed her before she could in a vain attempt to keep him from taking her soul. He took it anyway and wears it on a mortal corpse to take her to the top himself)
Nami - Poltergeist (She was brutally killed as a toddler when her village became a battleground for marines and pirates, she protected a girl a little older than her, and both were found by Belle-mere)
Usopp - Sentient Doll (He was never a ghost, he doesn't think. He doesn't want to be a child's toy, so he keeps carving new pieces of wood to replace his features. The villagers don't like how life-like he is)
Sanji - Zombie (he doesn't know what his father did to him, but he can't die. So long as he takes care of his corpse, it won't start rotting again. Don't look under his hair)
Chopper - Wendigo (He was a human once, it's not his fault him and his mom were in a cave-in, it wasn't his fault her neck snapped in the fall, it's not his fault he was just so hungry. It's not his fault he's still so hungry)
Robin - Vampire (She missed the scholars that would all pitch in once a week to make sure she was fed, she missed when it was just a strange medical quirk, she missed what it was like to look at people's faces before their necks, she's sorry)
Franky - Cyborg (Yeah he's still just a cyborg. Don't ask Iceberg how much of him is still human. Don't ask Iceberg if what's left of him is still alive. Don't ask Iceberg about what happened to Franky)
Brook - Skeleton (He's literally just a skeleton)
Jimbe - Godzilla!!! (He's just normal but he can hulk out to Kaiju size)

i think it has to do with perspective, the straw hats are "Heroes"(zoro and luffy would not agree) for us because we see the world through luffy's eyes. for majority of the world who haven't met them would be so scared imagine a 3 sword wielding King of Hell, a cook with a fiery leg who is nigh indestructible, a former warlord of the sea, a "racoon dog" who can become a mindless monster(pre time skip), a devil child who can make a giant demon clone, A LIVING SKELETON who can walk on water and screams YOHOHOHOHOO, a godly sniper who can control monstrous plants and snipe for kilometers away, a cyborg who can become a robot(well most ppl will be in awe of a robo....), a woman capable of beating up a yonko and can control lightning on par with big mom( also someone who is easily the most scary person out of the whole crew) and finally we have luffy, A YONKO OF THE SEA his laugh and moments especially in his final fight with kaido werent dark cause we know luffy otherwise his calm walk across to kinemon has to be one of the best examples of this. he is someone who can eat entire houses if they're edible and is the son of the leader of the revolutionary army , declared war on the world government, brother of ace who is the son of gol d roger and his entire pirate career was under a span of 2 years. The normal public actually fears the crew which is evident from the fake luffy from saboday( the fake luffy was evil but the ppl would be scared nonetheless) so a normal citizen would fall prey to the WG propaganda and consider them worse scum than other scummy pirates
Tumblr media
It's cool how Oda uses Bink's Brew as this thing the denizens of Thriller Bark are terrified of, when it ends up being the Straw Hat's go-to party song

Beloved Mother
My last fic went so well that I figured I’d try again and see what happens. Warning, this takes place during Marineford, reader is ASL’s mother,
Pt 2, Pt 2.5, Pt 2.5 Rewrite, Pt 3
TW:angst, death.
Your eyes widened as Ace turned to face Akainu, you knew that look in his eyes, he wasn’t backing down. While you had confidence in Ace’s abilities, you also knew how dangerous admirals could be, especially ones as cruel as Akainu. You couldn’t let Ace die, not your sweet child. While Roger may have trusted Garp with his child, Rouge had entrusted you with him, handing him over to you shortly before she passed, a sad smile on her face, knowing that her best friend would look after her child.
~~
Garp had immediately moved you to Mt. Corvo and insisted you live with the mountain bandits there, not that you actually did, but that’s what he’d planned. Being a former pirate, you knew people who knew how to build a ‘real’ home, something that you considered more suitable to raising a child. It wasn’t like it was far from where Dadan and her group lived, but at least this way, you weren’t as worried about the child’s well-being. While ‘Aunt Dadan’ wasn’t always the most pleasant person and Garp’s visits were very rarely looked forward to, your life was surprisingly nice. Ace had insisted on calling you ‘mom’ after asking about how you caring for him was any different from how mothers treated their children, you’d taken in Sabo shortly after he and Ace met, the 3 of you training in the mountains once you deemed them old enough. Things weren’t perfect, Ace knew about his father, the man being a never ending source of pain for the boy, but you always tried to be there for him, trying to reassure him that he wasn’t a ‘demon child’ or ‘trash’, that you were happy that he was born.
~~
You rushed forward, your legs carrying you faster as you noticed Akainu aiming for Luffy. No, absolutely not. Coming here, panicking about Ace’s execution was hard enough, you wouldn’t let Luffy die either, you wouldn’t lose any more children, not after you’d lost Sabo.
~~
By the time Luffy was brought to your doorstep, Ace and Sabo had been calling you ‘mom’ for years, the 7-year-old rubber boy taking to the endearment quickly and joining the other two in referring to you as ‘mom’. You were the unofficial mother of 3 lonely boys who wanted nothing more than a family and people who cared for them. Caring for and training the 3 had become quite the task, but you still smiled every day, even if you woke up dead tired from the day before, even if you were asleep the moment you even so much as sat down, even when you’d broken your leg while saving Luffy, you smiled at them, letting them know that everything was alright and that you were happy to have them. The only times they saw your smile fall was when you were upset at them for doing something dangerous, worried because they’d gotten hurt or could have gotten hurt, or when you argued with Garp.
~~
Ace and Luffy felt a strong gust of wind push them back and away as you stood between them and Akainu, gasping as you felt hot magma burn through your body. Your hands were outstretched, having used your own devil fruit to move them away from danger. The two boys stared at you, eyes wide as Akainu’s fist sprouted from your chest. The two black haired boys caught you as Jinbei pushed Akainu back. You were on your back, Luffy to your left and Ace to your right as they held you. You chuckled lightly before suddenly coughing up blood.
“Well shit, looks like mommy fucked up, boys.” you gasped, smiling up at them.
~~
You looked at the three boys in front of you, grinning as you set out 3 small sake cups and a large cup on the small living room table. Sworn brothers and their sworn mother.
“Well shit, boys, looks like I’m your mother for good now.” you said with a smile once you’d finished your sake, the boys grinning at you.
“Good! Now you can’t say otherwise!” Ace declared, tackling you to the ground. He’d been with you the longest and had often argued against your worries about being called his mom, you couldn’t argue that anymore, you were their mother now.
“Yeah! We have a mommy now!” Luffy cried out, joining Ace in your arms as you laughed. You glanced at Sabo, gesturing for him to join the pile.
“I don’t care who gave birth to you, Sabo, you’re my child now.” you said, watching as the blond wiped away some tears that threatened to fall before jumping into your arms as well. You and your three boys, that was all you needed in this world.
~~
You reached a hand up to caress Ace’s cheek before doing the same to Luffy,
“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t lose you, either of you.” you said, tears brimming in your eyes, “you’re my sweet boys, I love you both so much.” you paused for a moment as Luffy called for a doctor frantically, only stopping to look at you when you placed a hand on his cheek.
“Will you two grant your foolish mother one selfish wish?” you asked.
“You’re not foolish!” Ace countered, his voice cracking as he tried not to sob. You let out another small chuckle before looking at him.
“We can argue that later, sweetie. Right now, I need you to listen.” you rasped, “Luffy, whatever happens, keep chasing your dream, become the pirate king, and when you do, take me to see the One Piece, alright?” you asked, watching as the boy nodded rapidly, you turned back to Ace, still smiling, “Ace, don’t die and don’t question your existence, you deserve to have been born, you’ve made so many friends and make so many people happy, stay alive, for me.” you requested, watching the boy nod, much in the same way his brother had, “I wish Sabo was still here, I miss him. If he were here, I’d tell him how proud of him I am, to follow his heart, no matter what those stupid nobles think, and to live his life how he desires.” you stared up at the sky, the tears finally falling. Ace gently shook you as your eyes began to close.
“Hey, hey come on! D-don’t close your eyes!” Ace demanded, allowing his own tears to fall.
“Sorry my sweet Ace, but I can’t keep them open… I can’t stay.” you said softly, your eyes closing and your body going limp.
~~
You held Ace and Luffy as Dadan informed you about Sabo’s death, the three of you starting to sob. He’d been taken from you, his father had come for him and stolen him away from you. You hadn’t even had time to plan out a way to save him, let alone try to do so. It was just the three of you now and there was a hole in your heart where Sabo had been. They’d never seen you cry until now, never heard the sobs that were now torn from your throat, and the sound only made them cry harder.
~~
Luffy threw his head back, letting out a horrific scream, the entirety of Marineford could hear the pained call for his mother. Ace’s grip tightened around your body. Neither boy noticed as Akainu once again aimed for them, the battle still raging around them, they didn’t notice as Luffy was picked up by Jinbei and Ace was pulled away by Marco, your limp body still in his arms. Their minds were still reeling from the fact that their mother was gone, their beloved mother had closed her eyes, never to open them again.
If enough people like this/message me I’ll write a sequel with Sabo included.

cruxes and equivalencies: chapter 1036 spoilers
For me, great chapter!
Our newest pretty boy, as a pretty boy, burnt out so fast. But he’s been fighting for nearly all of the Onigashima chapters, and the folks who have been drawing the Zoro & King parallels have had them totally spelt out by Oda this week. And the whole page is important, so I’ll include it:
Tumblr media
Ah, but it does seem that our fallen angel followed the wrong god, even if he helped him (angel/King) out (false god, icons, golden calves), and King remains loyal to him (false god / Kaidou) for that reason.
Very interesting. So, if Luffy were to turn out evil, would Zoro still follow him? Great question. Maybe not, but
Tumblr media
Zoro might become evil in his pursuit of never losing a battle, which in turn strengthens his captain’s chance of securing the crown. Interesting that he views himself and his actions that way, and with no regret, but “If that’s what it takes...” (for me [Zoro] to not lose a battle, for you (Luffy) to be the Pirate King), then yeah, he’ll go to and rule over Hell.
A pragmatic decision, but also innate, and also part raison d'être. But, King was the same. So now the lines narrow down with fate  and skill and determination, and chance always has to play a role. We’ve seen Zoro’s demon form before of course.
I don’t think that’s all that we’ll see of King in terms of past, present or future. Especially with that Joyboy reference, and it won’t be a surprise when he becomes a Luffy fanboy. (The guys on twitter and reddit must be going wild).
Really interesting to think of Bellamy who was
so loyal to Doflamingo, who treated him like shit, and King who is very loyal too, but with good reason. The quality of subordinates gradually increases. So King’s out:

But Law and Kid are still fighting Big Mom, and she’s infused the girders with the souls of the Beast Pirates that she sucked dry, I guess—or her own soul, a bit of both. The homie is attacking Kid, but he’s deflecting it pretty quickly. What’s he standing on? Is that part of his awakening?
And Usopp is going to be such a major player and is the main motif of this series in many ways.
Tumblr media
He’s been charged with protecting Kin and O-Kiku, and they urged him (and each other) to leave them behind and save themselves. Clumsy wording, right? Read the panels below (which came before the one above).
Tumblr media
Does it remind you a bit of this from 974?
Tumblr media
Earlier, Momonosuke did not want the Scabbards to head out on what either he or Shinobu called a suicide mission, and of course the Scabbards have been through a lot, but so has everyone, and there’s another guy adhering to Usopp’s words in another way:
Tumblr media
Momonosuke (looking fine there) trying to redirect the downward spiral of Onigashima onto the Flower Capital. Yamato is also running with his Giant friends (who seem to be Caesar experiments on the Shimotsuki samurai and friends who were held captive in the cave with him when he was a child, which indicates that Kaidou definitely exploited Punk Hazard for the worse once he left it, but we already knew that with the SAD factory). Yamato’s trying to stop the basement from exploding.
And  of course someone who doesn’t know about Sea Hills (Usopp) wouldn’t know about Izou, and would also think his aim was to save him (which in part it was, but definitely not Izou’s main goal):
Tumblr media
(Stripping himself for no good reason there to show his Kozuki clan affiliation (but I’m sure it pepped up our two grievously injured samurai very well. And plus, He Means Business. Hope Marco joins him)).
But Izou knows all about him!
Tumblr media
I love, love, love that Usopp is commonly known as God Usopp now, and I love the casual way that Law and others use it, and you never know if they’re being sarcastic or not or, once someone has an epithet that’s what you use anyway.
So Usopp has the day saved for him again 😁. Love his casual passing of the buck there (above). But he is awesome!
And Oda is surely trolling the readers after maybe reading forums or having fan reactions sent his way:
Tumblr media
I think, according to Artur from Library of Ohara, and some other writers, that these guys in the picture above (Raizo and Fukurokuju) have not been referred to for over a year (or for some time. I thought it was less, but I supplement the manga with the anime, so maybe I’m not as aware as time). So it’s really fitting that he has them using Paralysis Jutsu. That’s why they’ve been off-screened for so long. Haha (but Raizo is losing).
Also, Orochi wants Fukurokuju (the guy above) to return soon so they can escape, and he’s in a room with Komurasaki. I thought that the song that she was playing with her reintroduction was the song she played for her father, considering it was able to reach Zoro’s sword, Enma,  but it seems that will be upcoming. It’s going to bring some witchery with it for sure.
Tumblr media
Kanjuro’s empty but vindictive hate (fire feeds on air, after all) is racing to the basement, and Apoo and others are hotfooting it out of there. It looks like Drake’s out for the count now, and the extra-spooky CP0 agents are floating around the place like Mary Poppins looking for Nico Robin.
Tumblr media
Both Apoo and Yamato seem to have a connection and fondness for the Numbers (but maybe not for Drake).
Tumblr media
And I’m sorry to put in so many full pages, but they’re packed full of information. I am so happy that BEPO is on a page with Zoro, Sanji and Killer, directly after they mention the demise of the All Stars and that Luffy’s allies have a one in million chance of winning, but just in case they do, the World Government needs to be ready. Ben Ben! (Where’s Nami?) Also, edit in, it’s been pointed out in a number of posts that Sanji’s eyebrows have realigned themselves.
I wonder if Bepo and the Hearts will get a little more development. Maybe in the anime. They erased Bepo a few episodes back, so maybe not But wait!
These two clowns:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
are having a grand old time. In the meantime, who is not human who is calling the shots? Im? or someone who only thinks they’re not human (Celestial Dragons, Gorosei, etc.) It seemed to be the first CP0 guy calling the others. Are Cipher Pol Aeigis Zero  non-human?
Tumblr media
That was the end of the call between CP0 and whoever... Ahh.

luffy asta and gaara for the ask game
Luffy:
• Favorite thing about them
Everything??
I love how he matures subtly across the story. He doesnt make any major changes but he slowly becomes a more serious person/better leader without losing his goofiness and his cheerful attitude. I love that he never wavers on his conviction, how he is okay with dying pursuing his dream with no regrets
• Least favorite thing about them
I really cant think of something lmaoooo
• Favorite line
His speech to arlong where he says he cant do anything without his crew, "sogeking, shoot down that flag", him telling big mom and kaido that he will beat them, and so many others
Also "Will you betray me?" "No" "alright" JZHSNZJSU
• Brotp
His friendship with nami and zoro is sooooooo special to me, but really his friendship with all the straw hats (including Vivi!!!) Is great, he has a different dynamic with each of them and thats really sweet. Outside of them, he and koby are cute i like them
• Otp
Zoro :) i also like to think sanji loves luffy (because of whole cake island) but zoro is the number one to me. I think they are soulmates (the "heroes share their meat/booze" parallel is soulmate behavior)

• Least favorite thing about them
He is too pushy with the nun and i know thats kinda in character but i think it should have been dropped already
• Favorite line
God its been like a year since i watched black clover i cant really remember any line in specific? I liked when he told noelle that her magic was amazing when they met :)

Tumblr media
Gaara:
• Favorite thing about them
I think his total change from "murderous demon child" to "does gardening as a hobby and is ninja president" is really funny. I like how much he wants to be a better person (even tho ofc it wasnt his fault he turned out like that) and how hes healing from his trauma and making friends <3
• Least favorite thing about them
I think his character arc should have been less abrupt. I dont think he should have been kazekage either, it should have been temari
• Favorite line
I dont remember, i know theres several *scenes* that i like but i cant think of any specific lines. When he tries to reach out to sasuke, maybe
• Brotp
Throwing a curveball and saying he and hinata should have been friends and funded the Naruto Fanclub. Him and neji would have gotten along too

can. can we discuss the wg's absolute inability to name things for sec?
i mean:
-'pirate hunter' zoro?? really?? you're gonna... give a pirate the nickname pirate hunter?? yeah, what a good call guys
-eustass 'captain' kid. what were they even trying to get across here. not only is this incredibly uncreative, and does not emphasize a defining aspect of his character at all, but he's aLSO ALREADY A CAPTAIN, MAKING HIS FULL TITLE CAPTAIN EUSTASS 'CAPTAIN' KID. come on
-'scratchman' apoo? what does this?? even mean????
-jewlery bonney 'the glutton'. okay, this one's just mean. wtf guys
-'big mom' charlotte linlin. i shouldn't even have to explain this one
-'demon child' nico robin: i have two thoughts.
a) THAT'S PRETTY MEAN
b) she's like 28 now guys
-'pirate king' gol d. roger. as badass as this sounds, isn't it a bit counterproductive in the whole stopping the pirate era thing???
-'black leg' vinsmoke sanji. okay, but sanji didn't even have haki when they came up with this so what is it supposed to be about? his shoes???
-'cotton candy lover' tony tony chopper. MY BOY DESERVES BETTER
-red-haired shanks. strawhat monkey d. luffy. cyborg franky. revolutionary sabo. yeah, these aren't actually bad per say, but epithets are supposed to sound badass and these, do not. so thanks, marine captain obvious
exceptions:
-'god' usopp. powerful. raw. marvelous. 10/10
-'death surgeon' trafalgar law. okay, this one i'll give you. law is the edgiest ass around and he deserves an epithet that such does justice, so death surgeon is a 12/10 from me. still bombed on all the other ones though
in conclusion, you guys suck at this

Give the Devil His Due
Roger steps onto Raftel and nothing is ever the same.
Only the souls who pledged themselves to him, from Silvers Rayleigh to Shanks and Buggy and everyone else in between, Roger Pirates one and all, know what happened on that island, only they know the truth.
(And if you get Crocus drunk enough on enough whiskey to kill a giant, if Rayleigh sees something of his old captain in you and doesn’t recoil in fear, if you pay Buggy enough money and he obliges for an island’s ransom, if you ask Shanks kindly enough and he obliges for a story and a song, they might tell you.)
Raftel twists and it shifts and it warps and it breaks as the first king in history (but not the last, never the last) to walk its shores strikes a deal with an entity older than time. And the world twists and it shifts and it warps and it breaks as history is rewritten.
(For Raftel is the present and the future and the past all wrapped up in one, the graveyard and prison and killer of the gods of time and fate and the devourer of their power).
History is rewritten, stretching back to the death of the gods, and none are more changed than those damned souls that pledged themselves to Gol D. Roger.
Rayleigh changes first. The crew always joked that he was the shadow of Roger, and now he’s that and more, a wraith of darkness and blackness and void, a being who could strip life from anyone with just a touch. The Dark King, Roger’s dark reflection.
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, he was still called the Dark King, and while Shakky loved him with all her heart, some days the shadows in the bar became longer and sharper and inched their way to her husband and Shakky wondered what exactly had she married.)
Crocus goes second, and becomes more flower than man, a thing of plant and change and bloody bloody mutation that can turn men into hellbeasts with a thought, sustain life after death, and create ghosts of those who would never come back.
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, Crocus was horrified by what he’d become, and, using the skill of the King’s doctor and the powers of a demon, excised his demon and tossed it into the sea. But the corruption is still around, and the Lily Carnation still hungers for blood.)
Oden goes third, and unlike all the others, while his body doesn’t change (for Wano is a place of ancient gods and ancient pacts and Raftel will honor all agreements, even the ones it was forced into), his mind, soul, and even his past are warped beyond recognition. No child can kill a bear at age four, and the red light district of Oden’s home has too much pride to let a six year old roam their streets. Oden was already immensely strong, but Raftel changed that, giving him the strength of a demon and the appetite to match.
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, Oden was the only one to stay the same, for Wano supped from the blood of gods, same as Raftel, and it protects all its children.)
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi go fourth, even after Oden begs them not to, and become whirling death and a darkened moon and howling beasts, animals twisted into something dark, primal, and ferocious. (For the Mink tribe and their electro have existed for ages, but the sulong was a creation of Raftel.)
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, the sulong was locked behind the full moon. But while Roger lived, there was a reason why the mink tribe was the most feared group in the New World, and why no sane man ever ventured close to Zunisha.)
Scopper Gaban and Nozdon and all the others change too, into death and pain and war and battle, demons of the sea and the salt and the blood red sand, but they leave something behind and they're never the same afterwards.
(Raftel rewrites history for the Pirate King, but nothing comes without a price, and that price is the history of most of his crew. They aren't people anymore, just tools and weapons. The world remembers nothing about Scopper Gaban and Nozdon and all the others, just names, faces, and power. A weapon needs nothing else.)
Shanks and Buggy go second to last, even while everyone else begs and pleads and threatens and bribes them, anything in order for them to stay children and not become demons like the rest of Roger’s Crew. (Because even demons have those they care about, and the Oro Jackson’s cabin boys are theirs and should never have to go through what they did). It’s the first time Buggy stands up to the crew and the first time Shanks ever disobeys their wishes. Both Buggy and Shanks change, and nobody can stop them.
Shanks changes in body, becoming blood on the wind, a keening tide of red that hungers for pain and fear and loss, a demon whose hair is made of blood. (Rookies find it odd that the epithet of one of the Four Emperors is ‘Red Hair’. The veterans hear that name and remember a man who’s every hair is a soul he killed.)
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, Shanks becomes less blood and more man, but still keeps some of that cruelty and sadism. Luffy had to learn how to destroy dreams from somebody, after all.)
Buggy’s body and soul belong to another, a foul tasting fruit sealing a pact with the Sea Devil, the last of the Old Gods. Raftel cannot change his body. Instead, Raftel changes his mind, turning it into a twisted, mad thing, a thing that allows Buggy to create cannonballs that can obliterate fortresses and destroy islands. (If CP9 had managed to get Pluton’s blueprints, they would have gone after Buggy next, for he was the only one able to make ammunition worthy of an Ancient Weapon)
(And after Roger’s death, after the crew became less demon and more human, Buggy sealed that part of him away forever, out of fear, not for what others would do to him, but what he would do to others.)
Roger, of course, goes last, not out of cowardice, but because his crew insists that they go first. He doesn’t change. Roger has always been the way he is, larger than life with a grin wide enough to split the heavens, and a darkness large enough to swallow the earth.
(And who do men fear more, the demons, or the one who holds their leash?)
Ace is not and will not be changed in the slightest, for while Raftel changes all who are related to the Pirate King, past, present, and future, Portgas D. Ace is not related to the Pirate King. He is the son of Whitebeard now and forevermore.
(For what are the ties of mortal blood to an island who has already drunk deep of the ichor of gods?)
Ace might not be the son of the past Pirate King, but he is the brother of the future one, and when Luffy made it to Raftel, he would have become a thing of blood and flame, a demon of hellfire with a burning crown, a prince of the inferno.
(But Ace did not live to see his brother become the King, he died in magma and war and a broken promise and a ‘thank you for loving me’, and Raftel will never reverse death. It did once, only once, and Joy Boy has been a thorn in their side for millenia)
There are other changes, of course. Garp’s fist was always strong enough to demolish mountains, but he would have never harmed a hair on a child’s head. Whitebeard was always near-invincible, but there are always pirates willing to stab someone in the back. Kaido was always the last of the true dragons, but no dragon was ever as impervious to pain as he is. Big Mom always loved sweets, but not to the point of near-mindlessness. The World Government was always ruled by the World Nobles, but once upon a time they were people, not the caricatures they’ve become now. But the changes to Roger’s crew were the greatest, and the main reason for Raftel to slumber for over a decade.
Now, a generation after its last change, its last pact, Raftel wakes up. But this time, it isn’t content with merely waiting for the King to walk its shores. The king is right there, carrying a piece of Raftel’s power on its brow, and the tendrils of the island of death (and demons and corruption and pain and loss and a hundred other dead gods of sin) stretch far indeed.
A/N: @whirlybirdwhat Well, here’s part 1 of that demon fic you wanted me to write. Been a while, but better late than never.

One Piece Chapter 995: Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
And the count drops to 5 After a long week break One Piece is back to continue the back and forth of the Onigashima Raid, looks like Chapter 1000 may still remain in Act 3 which is...concerning, since Act 4 is meant to be the tragedy parts But for now, we see what 995 has to offer Spoilers for Chapter 995 of course, Support the Official Release Too!
It was a bit strange seeing a chapter cover after the whole Bege story ended XD But Luffy with an owl teacher is fun, and the squirrels
We however start on the outskirts, Big Mom vs Marco, and he’s kinda holding his own. It is worth noting that his fire seems to hurt Prometheus and Zeus looks out of commission still
Marco stating that he ‘doesn’t know his role yet’ is a bit of a worrisome flag, bug I do have an idea
BM does pin Marco down the easy way though, just grab him. Seems that Perospero’s alliance was super short lived - alliances and betrayal going hand in hand
But he gloated too much and Wanda and Carrot jump in in their Su Long forms! Peros is lucky he isn’t blinded, I mean he kinda should be, he has enough scars
‘You crazy furry’ - I don’t care if Viz changes that this is the canon line and hilarious!
BM seems to recognize Carrot though, which continues to bode the question: why didn’t she get a bounty for rinsing a line of a Yonko’s fleet? Franky did less in Enies Lobby and got a bounty
Wanda’s Su Long is kinda expected, but it’s good to see that she wants to avenge Pedro too, despite Peros’ objections. Gotta worry a little though, very easy to lose one of them in a 2v1 situation
Big Mom bouncing is strange though, she’s basically ditching her eldest injured son. What she says is interesting too, she doesn’t have any souls to use against Marco, meaning at this current point she’s somewhat weakened in terms of damage output
Carrot and Wanda are letting Marco make chase though, however the Ice Demons is where I expect him to gravitate towards
The Apoo chase is for the most part turning everyone against him, but in that manner also turning Kaido’s lesser forces against him
Tonfa is a unique choice of weapon for Apoo, maybe the extra joints allow more movement with them, but he should not last long against Drake and Zoro both going at him
Zoro vocally noting that he wants to support Kin’emon is telling, Oda is intentionally keeping Zoro away from Kaido
Drake though having no filter ‘I’ve always hated you’ - like cold blooded
Queen though seems to have eyes on Zoro, but he’s gonna be very rudely awakened if he tries it thinking that he’s merely the ‘3rd best fighter’. His musing about Sanji is interesting though, he doesn’t say Germa or the Evil Army, he says ‘Judge’s Son’ - implied familiarity? Oh lord what if Sanji’s uncle is Queen!? Both are blonde scientific geniuses
Brook being immune to Ice Oni does make a lot of sense, it may also become a key factor in getting to Apoo or Queen but he’s basically now a walking infection that he may be able to use, but Chopper is mulling how the virus works
And doesn’t notice that he’s got it too! Strange he didn’t feel it though huh? There is of course now the worry of ‘Healer Down’ but Chopper can change his shape to limit the spread, this also gives him a chance to self-treat an antidote or just allow a Pineapple to heal him with his healing flames
I do have worry about that Number-shaped shadow on the panel where Brook is saying he’s invincible, it’s got its eyes on Chopper
We finally get over to Usopp and Nami vs Ulti and Pay-Pay...though it’s turned out to just be Usopp vs Ulti and Pay-Pay.
Interestingly, Usopp seems able to handle Ulti from range, but with both it is a struggle. Ulti’s heart though
Unfortunately he seems to be on the end of ‘another’ headbutt. An Alabasta-esque Fatality showing Usopp’s skull very much cracked...surprised he has any bones left in his nose
Ulti turns her eyes to a felled Nami, but we’re shown Beast Pirates fleeing from outside, which should’ve really given away that an ally was coming
Nami definitely doesn’t want to die so pulls the bargaining, but Ulti wants her to retract Luffy’s statement about being Pirate King
PANDAMAN SMILE! Just...wow
I’m a little let down by Usopp though, even if it’s lying to stay alive to be okay with Nami saying that Luffy won’t be Pirate King doesn’t sit well, it feels like it contrasts his Alabasta moment as well when he refused to allow Luffy to be insulted
But Nami won’t say it, she says that he will, so it’s nice that Nami gets that moment too
And here to save Nami is Komachiyo rode in by Tama!
Sweet Child it’s cool that you’re here but this battlefield is not safe for you!
So yeah, really good chapter regarding developments, the picture does continue to become clearer. Big Mom is back on the loose, but without Zeus and Prometheus she is weakened. Marco is becoming aware of the Ice Oni - which Brook and Chopper are infected with but only the latter subject to its damage. Queen looks to eliminate Zoro. Carrot and Wanda are to fight Perospero and Tama has come for support right where Usopp and Nami are facing Ulti and Pay-Pay.
It all leads to interesting routes, of course Zoro vs Queen is a big one but I do see Drake jumping in on that, maybe even Hawkins, Apoo, Brook and/or Who’s Who, he isn’t the most popular of All Stars after all. I do still think Marco will save Chopper and the floor from Ice Oni, Chopper will be able to uncover the key part of it before fully turning, but through that Chopper can get that W over the Plague. I worry about Carrot and Wanda vs Perospero, I think Peros may get some help, he has a whole crew at the bottom of the Waterfall loaded as Chekov’s gun, but with the rest of the Minks falling back from the Dome as well it could be Minks vs Big Mom pirates. I worry most for Wanda because she is another one of Carrot’s close mink friends, she could easily lose a lot from this especially from the clock of Su Long. Seeking vengeance rarely goes the way people expect, I kinda hope that Carrot gets clarity and returns to support Luffy and co, mainly because I am Carrot4Nakama - I doubt she’s got her fill from adventure and she could easily get a bounty post-Wano (I even think her nickname of ‘Moon Rabbit’ would be suitable). While I thought that the title would relate to Shinobu, I did correctly predict Tama rolling up in my Mini-Theory Mashup Wano Edition (Link Here), she is far too much of a pivotal character to be kept away from this, she is a key factor as well. Not only will her arrival kick Usopp and Nami’s protective senses into gear to potentially get the W against Ulti and Pay-Pay (who while I enjoy their dynamic it’s a rough spot when they’re fighting people I like) but she also has influence factors with Luffy and Big Mom. She can be the later kick up the ass for Luffy to remember what he is fighting for but for Big Mom she can be the changing factor, Tama is who drove O-Lin to Udon, whether Big Mom has memories of Tama could in turn prove beneficial for the alliance in having BM turn on Kaido, if she runs in on Nami and Usopp too this could lead to Nami gaining an advantage by reclaiming Zeus.
But yeah, a lot of this was what others are doing aside from the Luffy, Yamato and Scabbards situation, we still are due to see Caribou, Team Law, Team Kid and Hiyori and who that shadowed person is (still think it’s Moria) but we still have 5 more chapters to go fill the big 1000

STRAWHATS X MEXICO 🇲🇽 ❤️
I'll do both!!
At a big home, Ace is having a terrible nightmare. "No... no, no, no.... please... don't..."
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT! BRAT!"
"DEMON CHILD!!"
"HE'S REALETED TO ROGER!! WE MUST KILL HIM!"
Ace - "*Huff* *huff*...(running from the people)
Ace - (turnaround to see his mother)mom!"
Ace hugged his mother, with tears in his eyes. "Mama, I was having worse dreams," he said while his mother hugged, Hush him.
Then Ace noticed flame on his mother and watched his mother being burned in flames. His eyes widened.
"NO! NO! NO! NO! MAMA! I'M SORRY! MOM, PLEASE!!!!!"
It was too late, his mother burned to ash.
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT"
Ace woke up from the dream, covered with sweets, "Hey, you're awake." Ace was startle from (S/N) voice, leaning against the door, "Come on, and eat, " she said, walking away.
Ace hurried and changed his clothes, then walk down stairs to see everyone was eating. "¡Oh! ¡Por fin te despertaste!(oh! you finally awake)"
"Good morning, ace!" Said luffy, the strawhat were eating some pancake and drinking 'abuelita hot chocolate' You know...
Tumblr media
"Toma, bebe un poco de chocolate caliente y come algo.(here, drink some hot chocolate, and eat some pack.)" said (A/N), ace sat with his brothers. "You better hurry up cause we're going shopping at the jcp mall," said victoria.
"The mall! I heard it a huge place with clothes, jewelry, makeup, hair salon, all kinds of stuff!!" Said Nami. (S/N) laughs, luffy eats all the pancakes, "Estuvo realmente delicioso, señora.(it was really delicious, ma'am)," said sabo, Victoria cousin blush by his voice.
Then the strawhat went on the ride on the bus:
Tumblr media
After arriving, the strawhat, they're surprised how huge inside, "it's so cool! They even have mini train!" Said luffy, and they split up with each group.
(S/N) group Victoria group
• luffy. • Nami
• Zoro. • Robin
• Usopp. • Jinbe
• Franky. • Ace
• Sanji. • Sabo
• Brook. • Chooper
"Okay, we're only here to buy dresses and suit for the party," said victoria, "ms. Victoria, a question: why are we at the mall?" Robin asks. Victoria looks at robin ,"we're celebrating Roger birthday but not today, and the king of the pirate where Roger crew first came to Mexico." She said.
Robin stund, "gold roger?!" Jinbe asks. With surprise look, victoria nodded her head, "Hey, Robin, look at the dress I found!" Said Nami.
"That a good look for you," said victoria, at (S/N) group, "(S/N), can we leave already! I'm hungry!" Said luffy being exhausted at store. "You said you wanted to go"
"Yeah, but, like ice cream, play video games, go on rides" (S/N), look for suit for luffy. "Ah, here, try this on" (S/N) give luffy the suit, "do I have to?" Said luffy.
"Do it, or I'm gonna wop your ass." (S/N) said, with an angry look, making luffy frightened. She takes luffy to the dressing room, "is this about Roger first coming to Mexico?" Luffy question.
"Yeah" (S/N) answer, looking at the crew, checking on clothes, asking the staff but in spanish. Remain her, Roger crew, having fun, do funny things, go fun rides. She wishes her sister would be her.
Victoria group. Victoria is at the dressing with Robin inside, "Ms. Victoria, when exactly did Roger's crew find Mexico?" Robin asks. Victoria chulked, "What do you think? We did, and we led Roger to Mexico, we told them everything."
"Did Roger go kaiju island?" Victoria pause, and remember what happened on kaijus Island. "Yeah, we did. I won't forget Roger and oden face when they saw mothra, it was so hilarious!" Victoria laughed.
Robin opened the door, with a pruple dress on her, "look good on you," said victoria. "Ms. Victoria, please tell me, what was the reason not to go, Kaiju island?" Robin, please.
Victoria sighed, "You know, you're luffy friends and friends don't have to keep secrets, not even family, I'll tell you and Law, but I have to ask (S/N). If that's alright." said victoria.
Robin smiled, victoria smiles back, "Okay, got everything we need!" "Yeah!" The crew shouted, "alright, let me text (S/N) if they're finished yet, " victoria said, taking out her phone.
The crew cheered when they walked out of the store.

Happy
Prompt answer for anon who requested
“may I ask for a Gin/Sanji that's happy? I loved how super sad it was in the au but I would really like Gin meeting the crew/Luffy without it being so horribly sad. (also sanji going "hey so this is my bf" amuses me)”
SO ENJOY THE SANGIN I wrote this in a possessed haze last night.
Also @junemel this has elements from that one conversation that we had about gin meeting Duval its not close to it but I was this close to putting gin smacking the ever living shit out of Duval in it - this close
Anyway, enjoy! Sorry it took so long anon! Its a lil angsty but its very happy after that lol

Six months after Gin’s life was changed by a hot meal and cigarette smoke on the Baratie of all places, he’s out on the Grand Line, chasing his dream – to escape from the life Krieg built, and create one better, one that is a true pirate’s life.
And six months after Gin last saw him, he sees Sanji’s grey blue eyes again… in the most hideous wanted poster he’s ever seen.
He promptly spits out his coffee when his first mate gives the paper with it to him at breakfast.
“What the fuck-“
Kinzo has the patience of a saint as he speaks while washing the coffee from his face (how the hell is the man not screaming from the hot liquid?)
“Straw Hat Luffy and crew razed Ennies Lobby to the ground eight days ago while seizing Devil Child Nico Robin from custody. All crew members received bounties and escaped Vice Admiral Garp on their way out of Water Seven, and are currently at large. Isn’t…” And here, a small smile breaks out on Kinzo’s face. “Sanji on that crew? It appears he has a bounty higher than yours’s now captain. 77,000,000 Belli?”
“That’s not Sanji.”
It can’t be.
The wanted poster is hand drawn, but the artist must be blind because there is no way Sanji’s nose looks like that, or his lips, and his eyes are sea blue not whatever that is.
The only thing they got right even slightly is his eyebrow, but even that could take some criticism.
“You sure captain?” Hashi asks from his corner of the galley. “Seems like he fits the description – blue eyes, blond hair, smoker, weird eye brow.”
“That’s NOT Sanji! It’s – its- “ Gin can’t even finish his sentence. It’s only been six months, surely Sanji hasn’t changed that much? Getting stronger he can picture (The paper is vague, doesn’t tell a lot, damn marine supporters, but isn’t Ennies Lobby the supposed home of CP9?) but this? No.
“It’s a stranger? Doesn’t have heaven made food?”
“Smile sent from heaven?”
“Eyes like the sea?”
“Super soft hands?”
“The kindest voice on earth?”
“SHUT UP! How do you even know all that?” His face is red. Man Demon Gin has never been so humiliated.
“You talk about him a lot when you’re… inebriated.” Kinzo states, taking a sip of his own coffee (is it boiling? Its boiling. Does his first mate have secret devil fruit powers or does he have no pain receptors?) to avoid continuing.
“CAPTAIN HAS A CRUSH!~” He is going to toss Hashi overboard, devil fruit or not.
“OOOOOH!”
“LIKE IT WAS A SECRET!”
“EVERYONE SHUT UP!” Gin slaps a hand to his head. “Breakfast is over, I do not have a crush, and that is not what Sanji looks like – and do you really want to insult a man who is worth twice all of your bounties and just smacked CP9 into the ground?”
Finally, his crew shuts up.
“Like I thought. Get to your stations – weather looks dark outside, might be a storm.”
And the Silver Horn Pirates rush to do as their captain orders – but not without a few passing remarks.
“Captain and Sanji Kissing in a tree – K – I – S – S –“
Splash.
“SHUT UP!”
-
Another two months go by, full of teasing and laughter from his crew about Sanji, but it’s been quiet for the most part. The Straw hats haven’t made any big news officially, but there are rumors that Moira’s been kicked out of his position, and there’s only one crew crazy enough to do that unintentionally, so Gin’s sure that their doing all right.
Then the newspaper flops in his lap. It’s Kinzo again, and Sanji half expects it to be another Sanji poster – he likes to give him them, as if whoever on that poster can take the place of Sanji, but something in his face tells Gin otherwise.
He sets his cup down, and opens the paper.
STRAW-HAT LUFFY ATTACKS CELESTIAL DRAGON – CREW DISAPPEARS AFTER RESPONSE FROM WARLORD KUMA
Oh no – Sanji. Luffy. The rest of them – oh no.
There’s an odd note in his voice as he looks up at Kinzo. “Tell the crew to prepare to set sail. We head for Sabaody in three hours.”
Kinzo only nods – they’re five islands away, possible more because this is the Grand Line of all places, but half the crew is from Don Krieg’s armada.
They were at the Baratie when Luffy saved them, when Sanji gave them food. They know what’s at stake – they have to help the Straw Hats.
And so they will.
-
Three weeks later, Fire Fist Ace and Whitebeard are dead, and Straw Hat has reappeared at Marineford to ring in a new era.
Gin has tears in his eyes when he learns that Straw Hat is okay, because if he knows anyone, he knows that Straw Hat will never leave his nakama behind, and Sanji is nakama.
Sanji is alive.
(And the other straw hats, but forgive Gin for being biases, alright?)
Now he just has to find him.
-
On Sabaody, he does not meet Sanji – instead, he finds the face on the wanted poster, protecting Sanji’s ship.
“Duval?” Gin asks dubiously, as the man before him grins and attempts to wink, showing off his new face with the old wanted poster as comparison.
“In the handsome flesh! Are you friends of the Straw hats?”
“Yeah… One moment please?”
“Certainly!”
Gin turns to his crew with the most shit-eating grin.
“I told you it wasn’t Sanji.”
He turns back to Duval, not without catching a glimpse of resignation from his crew. He was right.
“So Duval –“
“Yes?”
“You know when the Straw Hats are going to meet back up?” Gin wasn’t stupid. He’s seen the face of a king, and Sanji was on that King’s crew. There was no way they would be down for long.
Duval looks sad, or at least as sad as he can get with that face. “No, we do not… We don’t even know if they are coming back all.”
Again, Gin’s not stupid. Or maybe he is, he just has unwavering faith in a captain that isn’t his and a cook he’d only met once.
“But we will protect their beloved ship! Whatever it takes!”  There’s a fire in Duval’s eyes, one Gin’s sure is matched on his own face.
“Of course – but do you have any idea where they are now?”
“Well…”
-
Duval doesn’t have an answer, but he does have a rumor, and that rumor is that the Straw Hats were scattered to the winds with a swipe of a paw, more literal than the papers stated.
Gin figured it would go like this. The Straw Hats went at their own pace (their own world-toppling, war declaring, impossible pace that no one else could keep up with-) and it was unlikely that they would be seen before they wanted to be seen.
Likely in an international incident.
That doesn’t mean Gin won’t stop searching and training for the day he meets Sanji again.
He doesn’t know what the other is doing, but it has something to do with Straw Hat’s message – and Gin doesn’t think Sanji would take the death of his captain’s brother lying down.
Sanji’s getting stronger out there somewhere on the grand line, and like hell if Gin is falling behind.
-
It takes two and a half years to find him, but at least by then he can show his crew an actual picture of Sanji’s face – if in that stupid caricature he gets around girls.
Kinzo smiles at it, hands deep in boiling water as he washes the plates after dinner, and asks genteelly “That your man Captain?”
Gin blushes very, very hard before changing the topic entirely. “Yeah – but I’m wondering about the Only Alive bit – what do you think it means?”
“No clue – but its no surprise the bounty went up – Sabaody’s a wreck from what I here, and Fish Man Island’s got a new protectorate.”
“Rumors say Straw Hat ticked off Big Mom.”
“Only one Island in in the New World and this is what they do? Damn.”
“We better catch up then, aye Kinzo?” Gin grins.
“Aye Captain.”
“MEN! SET SAIL FOR THE NEW WORLD!”
“AYE!”
-
Vinsmoke Sanji, the papers say, and Gin thinks back to the flowing restaurant in the East Blue and crosses it out. In its place is Black Leg, stark and true, and it’s a much better fit.
Black Leg Sanji’s Captain better get him back or Gin’s going to have to fight an Emperor and he and his crew are all going to die because Sanji went to go get married.
-
A week later, and Luffy had apparently plotted to assassinate Big Mom and ended up defeated two of her Sweet Commanders.
Sanji has a new bounty, and Gin doesn’t know why he even bothered to worry.
When he pictured meeting Sanji again, he imagined it in battle, showing off his new skills and he and Sanji fighting back to back.
He did not picture it in the back alley of some bar in the New World, where he was taking a break from the commotion inside.
Apparently, someone had died in the middle of eating and then rose again. Gin doesn’t want to know, so he goes out to smoke a bit.
“Damnit” he mutters, realizing he doesn’t have his lighter on him.
“Need a light?”
“Yea actually, Tha-” Gin stops dead, and stares at the face in front of him that’s gently smiling beneath a mop of blond hair.
The eyebrows are as distinct as ever, if on a different side, and the blue of his eyes stands out even now. (Privately, Gin thinks they might be the color of the All Blue that mythic ocean that Sanji plans to find – he has no doubt he will.) There’s a goatee beneath his lips, quirked up in a smile while biting on an unlit cigarette. The suit and tie is a fashion statement few wear so well on the Grand Line and that just means the person standing in front of him is none other than –
“Sanji,” Gin breathes and feels his heart swell.
“Hey Gin – long time no see.” A hand reaches out to light the cigarette between Gin’s teeth and then his own, and Sanji is almost as tall as him now, and smiling, and strong and –
-
A giant dork.
They found a cafe two streets over from the bar where they are now currently sitting, eating something other than greasy bar food and probably poisoned drinks.
According to Sanji, it was his Captain who had collapsed in his food and caused the commotion.
“He’s fine,” Sanji tells Gin carelessly, a smile on his face still – he hasn’t stopped smiling since he met Gin again, something Gin is not so secretly proud of – “Shitty rubber captain just does that sometimes. You get used to it. Chopper’s trying to work something out though –“
“Chopper? Isn’t he your pet?”
Sanji laughs, bright and bold, and he’s so much more than he ever was on the Baratie. “I forgot! You haven’t seen us since the Baratie have you? We have a lot more people on our crew –“
“Are they anything like their wanted posters? I’ve been trying to find you by them and it hasn’t been working out so well…”
Heck. He just admitted he had been trying to find Sanji. Way to go you dumb shit.
But Sanji just dusts the ashes off his cigarette and nods to him. “I knew you’d find us. You promised, didn’t you?”
I’ll grow stronger, without Don Krieg, and meet you all on the Grand Line!
He had, hadn’t he? And the Straw Hats put a lot of faith in promises.
“I guess I did – I definitely grew stronger too. And I have my own crew – though they aren’t as weird as yours.”
“Gin. We have a walking, talking, shitting skeleton pop star on our crew and our doctor is a reindeer. Nothing’s weirder than our crew.”
“You have a what for your doctor?” Oh god, he’s missed so much. He hates the newspaper.
-
Eventually, Sanji convinces Gin to introduce him to his crew after learning that Gin became his own pirate captain.
“No one can order you around, now, right?” There’s an innuendo in there somewhere, but frankly, Gin’s too nervous to care.
His crew always takes great joy in embarrassing him, and introducing him to Sanji, where most of the teasing stems from, is going to be hell.
Whatever. He’ll have proved them wrong at least. – and the rest of the crew who had only gotten glimpses of Sanji at the Baratie when he was smacking down the rest of the crew, will get the chance to meet him.
He entertains the thought of reaching for Sanji’s hand, but settles for brushing his knuckles and shoulders with him instead.
At the Baratie, he hadn’t known this man long – not long enough – and now, he’s endlessly curious to know more.
(What’s his favorite food? His favorite color? Memory? Place? What does he think of me? He thinks, casting glances at the man beside him as they talk about anything and everything down the streets, fitting like two puzzle pieces with frayed ends – perfectly matching but too old to quite click perfectly immediately.
He wonders, too, what Sanji will think of the crew.)
Eventually, they reach the Silver Serpent (sue him – he like’s the silver motif, its better than the demon one at any rate. (There are too many demons on this wretched sea anyway.)), its masts. Reaching high into the sky with the skull waving in the breeze. Sanji smiles at the engravings on the side (waves with metal inlays – Gin wanted this ship to carry them for years, and its grand enough to do so.)
“Nice ship,” He compliments and Gin grins in return.
“Wait till you see the crew.” He cups his mouth and prepares to shout. “MEN! THERE’S SOMEONE YOU NEED TO MEET!”
Heads pop up all over the ship, peering at Gin before wild expressions cross their faces.
“Holy Shit-“
“Is that who I think it is?”
“Captains brought a guy home!”
“Is that him?”
“Black-leg?”
“Kinzo – Kinzo wake up you need to see this” Hashi nudges the first mate awake before pointing at the plank that Sanji and Gin are climbing up. “It’s him.”
Sanji looks positively bewildered, more so when Gin offers a meager explanation. “I, uh, may have talked about you. A lot, actually. Maybe?”
Sanji snickers, and goes to introduce himself to the crew, leaving Gin to contemplate his life decisions.
“Hello everyone, the name’s Sanji – though I hear you already know that?”
“Damn right we do – Captain won’t shut up about you.” Kinzo answers for the entirety of the crew. “I’m Kinzo, the Silver Horn Pirate’s first mate.”
“Nice to meet you then.”
“And I’m Hashi! Cook aboard this ship! Tell me your secrets!”
“Wha-“
“Hashi, stop, damn it you can get cooking lessons later.”
“Actually,” Sanji interjects, before Gin can direct his crew to bring out food and such, “You can have them now. Luffy will want to meet all of you, and that means a party.”
In true pirate fashion, the deck explodes with joy.
“PARTY! AYE!”
“On the Sunny of course – I’ve been wanting to show you it.” And doesn’t that send butterflies down Gin’s spine. “Follow me!”
And the crew charges after the man who saved Gin’s life, leaving him to catch up.
-
Gin’s seen the Sunny before, not that Sanji knows, but seeing her with her crew aboard is something entirely different. The Soul King’s providing music, and there is a reindeer with chopsticks up his nose while a cyborg with two extra arms cheers him on. The owner of those arms is chuckling as she watches Sanji and a green haired swordsman – still wrapped in as many bandages as he had been at the Baratie – fight with fire and steel.
That’s nothing on the captain of the crew, whose downing ten-times his body weight in meat alone who. Laughs hysterically with the story telling sniper as the navigator punches Zoro and Sanji on the head to get them to stop.
The effect is instantaneous as Zoro. Immediately grumbles about witches and Sanji becomes pliant to her demands.
Thousand Sunny is so much more livelier now, with her crew filling up the empty space on deck and lanterns strung about the rigging. There’s platters of food and music and life and joy, things Gin had experienced before but never quite to this magnitude.
And according to Usopp, this is a small-scale party.
Bonfires on Sky Islands, parties at the Ryugu Palace, dancing with former zombies on a floating island ship in the middle of the Floridian triangle-
This crew has been everywhere.
(And, Gin knows, they are going to the end – to Raftel – and if he knows anything, they will find a way to go beyond that as well.)
“So,” Sanji startles him, now broken away from the mosshead, “What do you think?” And there’s something in his eyes that says I want you to like them but also They are mine and I won’t care if don’t. Gin understands the feeling.
“They’re wild.” Gin grins – he’s been doing that a lot today, hasn’t he? More than usual? “I like them.”
“Good!” They are close enough that Gin can smell the alcohol on Sanji’s breath, and he can see the droplets that have spattered on his impeccable suit and tie – loose now, that the party is in full swing, but still giving him an air of I know what the fuck I’m doing.
Sanji’s just like that, he guesses.
Suddenly, Sanji blinks around, noticing the crew and how Luffy has been distracted from the food by now by the swordsman’s cheering of ‘Sogeking’s theme’.
“Come on,” He says, hauling Gin to his feet, “I want to show you something.”
Gin thinks about making a dick joke, but decides to follow Sanji instead.
-
They go to the back of the Sunny, where the party’s music is only a mute faded sound, and the water lapping on the edge of the boat in their harmony.  The sun has just set, so there’s still pink in the sky, but the moon is already casting light upon the quiet waves of this tropical port town cove.
It’s nice as they lean arms crossed over the railing.
(It’s a good place for a confession.)
Sanji offers Gin a smoke and when he declines, shrugs and lights one for himself.
“Your crew tells me you were talking about me?”
Sanji’s trying to be suave again. Its working. Gin is so screwed.
“Maybe. What about it?” He deflects.
Sanji flicks some ashes out to the water. “Just wanted to know if it was true. If you really thought I was all that.”
“Why?” Sanji’s quiet after this.
Gin doesn’t speak up to offer an explanation, to say yes I do think you’re the most amazing cook I ever met, and that time where we held hands on the Baratie was the best in my life, and every other island we go to I hear about how kind you were, and who couldn’t think you were all that?
Because Gin doesn’t really speak in waxing poetry unless he’s had a few to many drinks, and he’s only had two tonight, shoved into his hands by the man next to him himself.
He does, however, hope Sanji understands all that.
By the look that he’s giving Gin, he does. And finally, he speaks. “Cause it depends if I want to do this or not.”
As he says that enunciated this, he reaches over and grabs Gin’s hand where its gripping the railing.
-
Here’s the thing. Sanji and Gin knew each other for five days before Don Krieg was defeated. In that time, Sanji cooked Gin the best meal he had ever had in his life, and shared a room with him as Giin washed dishes to work off the debt.
(Someone had to, as the new chore boy kept dropping them instead of washing them.)
On the last day, Gin had left and brought his former captain on to the Baratie, feeling so sick about what he was doing, and then left the Baratie freed and ready to create his own crew.
Before that, Gin and Sanji talked, and held hands, and it felt like a cheesy teen romance but somehow Gin had found his other half, in a way.
It’s a small history, and history that has not gone away despite the many ports they’ve visited.
Gin’s thankful for that, because it means he can smile as he grabs Sanji’s hands back, and say “Yeah. I meant it.”
And Sanji’s smile as he leans in for a kiss means everything to him.
He tastes like smoke and alcohol and the aftermath of a Straw Hat party, and something explodes in Gin’s chests.
Hell, he’s happy.
-
Of course, that isn’t the end of it. After a couple more heated kisses and quiet moments, Sanji jumps up and drags Gin back to the party.
“HEY!” He shouts, loud and clear from the upper deck. “HEY EVERYONE! LOOK!”
Everyone looks.
“THIS IS MY BOYFRIEND NOW!” And he holds Gin’s hand up in the air, because maybe they snuck into the kitchen before coming out here and stole drinks from Zoro’s stash, because he doesn’t think Sanji would want to raise Gin’s hand like it was a wrestling champion winner.
There’s a moment of silence after the announcement, before the deck explodes into motion and raucous cheering.
“ABOUT TIME SHITTY COOK!”
“FINALLY!”
“HELL YEAH CAPTAIN!”
“WOOHOO! YAY! SANJI!” Gin doesn’t care though, not now, and not next morning when he has the worst headache of his life and the most handsome man in the world at his side.
Sanji smiles at him, and he smiles back.
Happy, with the man he searched for at last.
