Danai trip to Kenya🇰🇪

It seems that after her trip to Tanzania, she went straight to Kenya.

She went to the Emboo River Camp in Kenya. Showcasing the amazing Maasai women in this month’s edition of her newsletter #LoveOurGirl.

Ever radiant was she against the darkest skies. Yasha couldn’t stop from staring in these moments; completely captivated and utterly entranced by that which she called her love. Her mythos. Her Niamh. And it never ceased to fail to bring a blush to pale cheeks when her beauty would catch her all caught up in the moment. Sweet nothings and endearments followed, and they would find themselves stealing a kiss from the other, arms wound tightly as if to speak the words; I’ll never let you go.

That had been mostly true. They never let one another go. Except for the day that the Amazonian was entranced, bewitched, and puppeted about like a toy. Hurting those she loved. Killing innocents. All with no way of freeing her mind from the one that laughed. To this day, those events haunted her dreams. She could swear that the laugh was always somewhere in the back of her mind. But the mile long gaze, the guilt, and the emotions would cause her brow to furrow. It had been some time now. Quite some time. She had made amends with her friends, tried to right the wrongs she had done, but still it never felt like she could do enough to truly set it right.

But even as bright as Niamh made her world, some days were just too dark. Their day went as usual. They rose with the sun, harvested, cooked, and ate breakfast, did all their chores, worked on the cottage, and did all the things on her love’s ’Honey-Do’ list. But it didn’t change the fact that the sky was dark and looking heavily on Yasha’s shoulders.

And that is how Niamh found her today. It was Yasha’s turn to feel the gaze fall upon her, and those beautiful, kind eyes are now locked on her. But instead of the admiration and love in her eyes, the barbarian knew immediately. Sorrow, guilt of her own, but worry most of all.

Her stoic look would soften as she opens her arms and beckons her beauty to her embrace.

“You don’t have to look at me in that tone of voice, you know…” A chuckle leaves her lips as she sits up taller, her curled position almost making her look like an animal protecting her innards from being attacked. “I’m okay…”

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

aw thank you 😭 idk if you were the same anon also speaking about Shiv's past with TK in general but if you are, i've actually been thinking really hard about some of those asks and am trying to include that stuff!! i'm still trying to decide what should be implied versus directly spoken about (if at all, not sure shiv would want to talk abt anything tbh) but yeah !!

God has removed you from a table where you used to sit in order to save you from a host who was serving you poison. Let that sink in.

Continue to pray. Continue to trust. Continue to wait. Continue to heal.

Our Lord isolates you before he elevates you. It may seem like everything around you is falling apart, but He has more in store for you than you could ever imagine.

You’re asking for a rose when our Heavenly Father wants the whole garden to be yours.

As Matthew 19:26 says - “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

Therefore stop holding back, stop holding on so tightly onto the familiar pain buried inside your heart. Let the Lord clean your heart and your mind out in the image of his son in Christ, according to his will.

It may not make a lot of sense right now but if you just finally let go of what you have in mind, God can give you something better.

Many of us cling onto things beyond our control, internalizing them and causing ourselves stress, anxiety, depression…

Free yourself from these burdens by pouring out your heart to the Lord. Take a moment to be honest with yourself, acknowledge what troubles you, and then trust God enough to let Him take over. As you wait for God's help, remember He might be waiting for you to reach out to Him.
