RIP Peter Aykroyd and Lou Cutell
Here is my combined remembrance of two celebrity passings in the last few days:
Remembering Peter Aykroyd 1955-2021
Former SNL cast member and writer Peter Aykroyd, brother of original Not-Ready-For-Primetime-Player Dan has died at 66. Peter got his start with Second City and appeared on a 1978 episode of SCTV and then became a cast member and writer on SNL during the 1979-80 season. That makes him one of the lucky few to have been on both SCTV and SNL.
Aykroyd during his SNL season
He continued to collaborate with Dan over the years, appearing in Dan’s movies Doctor Detroit, Dragnet, and Coneheads.
The link above is the obit from Variety.
Remembering Lou Cutell 1930-2021
Actor Lou Cutell has died at 91. He had small parts in tons of movies and TV shows, notably Pee-wee's Big Adventure as Amazing Larry, as the doctor in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, a comic on an episode of The Wonder Years, as Leo Funkhouser on 2 episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and a small part in Wedding Crashers.
Cutell with Kramer (Michael Richards) on Seinfeld
But the one role he had that everyone remembers was “The Fuscilli Jerry” episode of Seinfeld, where he played Dr. Howard Cooperman who owns the “ASSMAN” license plate. Funny guy!

Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster | Episode 318
Jim revisits his experience with a Cult Sci-Fi Classic from 1965 “Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster,” starring James Karen, Nancy Marshall, Lou Cutell, Marilyn Hanold, David Kerman, Robert Reilly and Bruce Glover. After Mars is rendered uninhabitable by an atomic war, a small band of Martians comes to Earth seeking “breeding stock.” Standing in their way is an astronaut/cyborg named “Frank.” Fins out more about this classic on this episode of MONSTER ATTACK!, the podcast dedicated to old Monster Movies.

Chris: Continuing on catching up on Svengoolie recordings, this one was noteworthy because of this Michael Meyers-like bald alien clone who was really mesmerizing, Lou Cutell, otherwise it was steeped in 1950s boringness, Avoid.
