Kentukis (Little Eyes) (Samanta Schweblin) "They've infiltrated homes in Hong Kong, shops in Vancouver, the streets of in Sierra Leone, town squares in Oaxaca, schools in Tel Aviv, bedrooms in Indiana. They're everywhere. They're here. They're us. They're not pets, or ghosts, or robots. They're real people, but how can a person living in Berlin walk freely through the living room of someone in Sydney? How can someone in Bangkok have breakfast with your children in Buenos Aires, without your knowing? Especially when these people are completely anonymous, unknown, unfindable.
The characters in Samanta Schweblin's brilliant new novel, Little Eyes, reveal the beauty of connection between far-flung souls—but yet they also expose the ugly side of our increasingly linked world. Trusting strangers can lead to unexpected love, playful encounters, and marvelous adventure, but what happens when it can also pave the way for unimaginable terror? This is a story that is already happening; it's familiar and unsettling because it's our present and we're living it, we just don't know it yet. In this prophecy of a story, Schweblin creates a dark and complex world that's somehow so sensible, so recognizable, that once it's entered, no one can ever leave."
Oedipus Rex (Sophocles) "The terrible knowledge that he has murdered his father and married his mother drives Oedipus to stab out his eyes rather than continue to see and know."

I have a new OC idea. My little OC will come from a religious family, but she was different than them, she became a cannibal after one of the priests at her school tried to SA her, so she bit his ear off. Her family trying to keep their reputation sent her away to an Uncle in Louisiana where 12 year old Marinette meets Alastor, who works with her uncle and learns his secret. He teaches her about radio, voodoo and how to get away with murder.
And a song idea for it.
In Hell Now:
Marinette (22) is walking down the streets of Hell humming. Everyone knew to stay out of her way. But some gangs thought they could do something to Mary. They thought they could mess with this little doe demon since she looked innocent and naive, but they were wrong.
Every demon hid inside their homes and locked the doors and windows. The small gang that once was 7 is now down to 1.
O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see
The first member had their eyes ripped out and devoured for looking at her with lustful eyes.
O be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little ears what you hear
The second had their ears ripped off and devoured for not listening to her warnings.
O be careful little tongue what you say
O be careful little tongue what you say
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little tongue what you say
The third one got his tongue bitten off for talking shit.
O be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little hands what you do
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little hands what you do
The fourth got his hands bitten off because he tried to touch her.
O be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little feet where you go
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little feet where you go
The fifth one got his feet sliced off for trying to run.
O be careful little heart whom you trust
O be careful little heart whom you trust
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little heart whom you trust
The sixth one tried to sweet talk her and got his heart ripped right out of his chest.
Now there was only one left he had just sat there and watched all this bloodshed. He was the newest member and he was horrified. "Oh darling you shouldn't have joined this mangy crew." She had gentle grabbed his chin and made him look into her big beautiful eyes. She gave him a gentle smile that filled him with warmth. It reminded him of his mother. "I am very disappointed in you young man" with that the man whimpered with a tear rolling down his cheek. She wiped his tears and hushed him. "Oh dear boy do not cry, it will all be over soon. I will let it be quick and painless alright?" The boy whimpered and nodded. She quickly twisted his neck killing him quickly.
She dropped the body gently and placed a flower on his chest.
"Why my little doe that was a brilliant show."
She turns and spots Alastor. She smiles at him. "Hello Alastor. You never come to find me unless you need something." If possible Alastor's grin widened.
"You know me so well. And yes there is something I need."
She reaches into her bag for her hanky and wipes the blood off her mouth.
"Will you come stay at the Hazbin Hotel?"

tired of cannibalism as a metaphor for love or sex. can we get into cannibalism as a metaphor for colonization.

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation
because WHAT are people talking about sometimes

i love when characters get angry when they're frightened. shelter dog characters. i love when they bite, not able to tell the difference between a hand that feeds and a hand that strikes. there is no difference. a hand is a hand is a fist. i love characters that are deemed unadoptable. unlovable.
and i love when someone loves them. i love when someone sits with them, patient. they don't flinch at the snarling and snapping. they're not trying to fix it—there's nothing to be fixed. this is you, all of you, and ill wait. because one day, one day you'll take the treat. go on, draw my blood. spit and curse and rage. you're safe with me. one day, you'll feel safe with me.

The trouble with modern computer RPGs is that even the Fucked Up Little Guys tend to be muscular and hairless these days, which is almost comically missing the point. Where's my knobby-kneed weirdo with a moustache and goatee so sharp they could poke your eye out and a pronounced tendency to lurk?
