OMG I LOVE THIS 😍😍😍
@annabtg tagging you to read for Sirius and @itsjamespotter for wolfstar adorableness
"Dad would probably prefer if I'd marry a Muggleborn. She could teach him how to use the Muggle box he bought for warming up food," James says.
This captures Fleamomt so well! Yes, one day Lily will show him!
The moment with Sirius' head on Remus' should is SO CUTE 🥰
"She's cute, right?" James asks.
He's staring across the room.
Sirius moves his knight on the chess board and follows James' gaze. He laughs when he sees the red-head Lily Evans chatting with her friends on the other side of their common room.
"What?" James asks.
Sirius glances at him.
They're thirteen and it's the first time James really talks about girls. And even if girls and dates and kisses are new and not particularly something Sirius is interested in, he knows the rules. He was taught before he even understood what dating a girl meant.
"She's a Muggleborn," Sirius shrugs as he states the obvious.
"So?"
There's defiance in James voice, it reminds Sirius of the times he used to refer the likes of Lily Evans with much worse vocabulary. It was James and their friends to make him change his ways.
Sirius sighs.
"It's fine by me," he says, honestly. "But I doubt your parents would approve."
James frowns. At first Sirius thinks he's acknowledged the problem and trying to come up with a way to pursuit his crush without his parents ever finding out. And really, how could they, James doesn't have cousins to tell on him.
But it's not that. James looks at him the way he does when he's trying to read deep into his mind. Like James did when they had their first discussions about blood supremacy. Or when Sirius was walking funny after last summer break. He had hurt his back falling down the stairs after an argument with his mother, but that wasn't the sort of thing to discuss with... Anyone really.
James' expression clears, he leans back and makes his move on the chess board.
"Your parents want you to marry a pureblood," James states.
Sirius shrugs.
"Of course. Yours don't?"
"Dad would probably prefer if I'd marry a Muggleborn. She could teach him how to use the Muggle box he bought for warming up food," James says.
Sirius stares at him, and it has nothing to do with the said Muggle device. He'd look more surprised, but he learned to hide his feelings years ago.
He knows James' family thinks Muggleborns can do anything a pureblood can. But it's one thing to treat people equally on the streets, another to break something as holy as the pure bloodline.
Sirius had thought marrying a pureblood was given, a duty, a fact, something every pureblood did. But here he is, looking at the heir of the Potter family - an heir who clearly doesn't follow any of the rules Sirius had been taught since the day he was born.
As Sirius looks at James, he realises it looks like freedom. Not that Sirius even really cares about girls and marriage, but for the first time he sees that James truly has everything. Money, brains, parents who send him sweets and chocolate even when he doesn't ask for it. But more than that, James has options. He can choose his future.
"Are you ok?" James asks bringing Sirius back from his thoughts.
"Yeah." He answers before focusing on the chess board again. "But if I have to marry someone like Carrow and you get to choose, the least you can do is to lose the game!"
His knight eats James' horse.
"Hey, it's not that bad." James says comfortingly and moves his queen out of the way. Then he grins and Sirius knows he's up to no good.
"You can choose too. If you don't want Carrow you can always take one of your cousins," James suggests as sincerely as a mischievous pre-teen can.
The sofa cushion hits James before he has time to dodge, and then the chess pieces fly around as Sirius reaches over the sofa table to James.
When Remus Lupin descends to the Gryffindor common room a few minutes later, his two friends are a messy, wrestling and laughing pile of loosened ties and wrinkled ropes on the floor.
He shakes his head and sits on the sofa after removing a few misplaced chess pieces. He takes a fat book out of his bag and continues his day as if two wrestling thirteen-year-olds in his feet were nothing but an ordinary day.
As he reads Sirius launches from the floor to find a safe haven next to him - James knows better than to bother his reading. When the long haired boy leans his head against Remus' shoulder and shows his tongue at James, something extraordinary happens. Nobody notices, but the corners of Remus Lupin's lips turn into a smile behind his book.
Sirius Black has many things to learn and unlearn during his Hogwarts years. And dating girls - or not dating them - is definitely one of those.

More Ninjago headcanons
●Nya helps Kai in the forge and post seabound she spends even more time in the forge being a blacksmith to help ground herself when she feels the ocean pulling her. She and Kai make a lot of the materials Jay uses in his inventions/the parts needed to repair Zane if he gets damaged. They're teaching Lloyd how to forge. Nya has sea green eyes. She also has leftover markings and horns from her time as a sea dragon.
●Cole has always been red/green colorblind he just never mentioned it because he figured out how to tell the difference between things with a few tricks he learned. After he learned about the ultra dragon's death, he added a picture of it to the small shrine he buit for his mom. He has a small flower garden and mostly grows lilies to be close to his mom.
●Jay is still the main inventor of the group and is happy to have people helping him with his inventions. He picked up coding post Prime Empire and has actually made a few small online flash games. He still has some snake like traits, including the fact that his pupils can become slits. It freaks a lot of people out. He has a litchenburg figure scar on his cheek that he doesn't remember getting it's also why there's a notch in his eyebrow. The scar is from where Libber kissed him one last time as a baby before leaving him with the Walkers.
●Zane uses his human disguise more after the Ice Emperor due to the trauma of knowing what he did to an entire realm without his memories and under the manipulation of another. It took a while for him to be comfortable again. He likes to knit and crochet in his spare time and actually somehow made Kai a weighted blanket, which he loves. He made more for the others, and they love them. Zane has a bunch of scratches and small dings and dents in his casing that he refuses to buff out because he thinks of them as his battle scars and doesn't want to forget them.
●Kai has freckles that are slightly more visible if he blushes. He and Nya both speak Chinese fluently. Kai has started teaching the language to Lloyd. Kai is covered in burn scars from his powers going haywire. The scars on his hands, however, are from working in the forge. Kai is extremely flexible to the point where it's freaky. He let his hair grow long to encourage Nya when she thought about growing her hair out. Kai cuts the other ninjas' hair for them because they're too busy to see a barber. He's gotten really good at it since he practiced on himself, so he didn't accidentally make Nya bald. Kai punched Jay during Seabound during the beach scene. After everything, the two apologized to each other. Kai checks on Nya a lot because he doesn't want to lose his sister again. The merge was hell for him. He has bright brown eyes and permanent green rings around the pupils from the Venomari spitting venom in his eyes.
●Lloyd is really flexible, not to the extent Kai is, but it's still impressive. He speaks fluent Japanese because of his mom. During the merge, he does his best to keep Cole's flower garden alive. Thankfully, he picked up some tricks. He loves Studio Ghibli movies. He has a cat bus plush that Kai bought him. Lloyd bites his nails a lot and is often seen with different colored bandaids on his fingers. When Arin and Sora come along, he suddenly knows how much panic he accidentally inflicted on the other ninja, especially the near heart attacks he gave Kai and Nya. He blames himself for a lot of different things. Post Crystalized, he has small horns, always visible, and permanent purple rings around his pupils. He has fangs, which makes the nail biting worse. He had accidentally put metal in the microwave. Lloyd adopted the surname Garmadon-Wu to honor both his dad and his uncle.
●Sora lost her arm in a mech racing accident, and Arin helped her build a prosthetic. She learned how to be ambidextrous post accident but is mainly left-handed. Sometimes, she has nightmares about hurting Ryu. Sometimes, she sleeps in the dragon stables with the other dragons for comfort if she has a bad night. Sora slowly took over being the tech girl since she's worried about replacing Jay while he's missing. She tried to bake once, and it didn't go well.
●Arin is a complete comic book nerd and especially idolized the ninja after they saved him when he was really young. He tries his best to help anyone and everyone, and he has a hard time saying no to people. Also sleeps in the dragon stables if he has a bad night. He sells his pies for extra cash. He used his savings to buy the parts for Sora's prosthetic and studied a lot of medical books and robotic books to help Sora. He has nightmares about never finding his parents.
●Ryu can sense when Arin and Sora need some help and cuddles up to both of them to help. Post Arin leaving Ryu starts sleeping on his bed more and whimpers because he's not there. Spends more time with Sora and the others because he's scared they'll leave too. Ryu learned how to walk on two legs for brief periods of time to impress the others
●Wyldfyre gives the ninjas so many near heart attacks on a daily basis. She had to be taught a lot of social norms and is bad at reading human social cues. She's Ryu's default translator because she speaks dragon and can pick up new dragon languages quickly. She spends a lot of time with the dragons at the Monastery. Sometimes, she helps in Cole's garden and learns she actually really likes the hard work. She sometimes wonders about her human parents, but she pushes those thoughts away really fast. She pays her respects to the ultra dragon at the shrine Cole set up.
●Wu's first name is actually Jin, but he goes by Wu. He inherited more of his dad's dragon traits but still has some Oni traits as well. He got really into origami to impress Miasko. He still makes little paper statues occasionally as a hobby. He has a private memorial shrine dedicated to Morro because he regrets hurting his first student and adopted son the way he did.
●Garmadon's real name is actually Guo Wu. He changed it to Garmadon to separate himself from the family because he didn't want them tied to him by name. He started using Garmadon-Wu as his surname after he was turned human again. He spent a good while actually spending time and catching up with Lloyd. He initially panicked, seeing how old Lloyd was until he was told about the tomorrow's tea. The Oni Garmadon that was brought back is slowly trying to bond with Llyod and answers questions about his dragoni traits as best he can.

Marauders cooking headcanons
James - FANTASTIC cook and baker. effie and monty taught him how to cook and bake at a young age so it’s a pretty nostalgic thing for him. one of the only things that can get him to be completely focused and block everything else out. Weirdly a control freak when cooking, no one can touch anything because they are doing it wrong. Loves cooking south asian dishes the most but can cook anything really
Sirius - hates cooking on his own. Finds it really boring to just be making something only out of hunger or because she has to eat. BUT really enjoys cooking or baking with people she cares about. They like making something in a social setting where it’s not necessarily about the food but about the experience and how he’s spending time with others. It also gives them a reason to make it taste good because it’s not just for her so she actually tries to be good at it. And sometimes their food tastes really good (emphasis on sometimes)
Remus - can make microwave porridge and ramen. That’s it. He lives off that stuff because he can’t cook for shit. He’s the type of person who would burn water (but he does make the best drinks).
Peter - pretty good at cooking but baking and sweet things is where he SHINES. Has professional equipment and likes to make really complex desserts like macarons (I tried to make them once, they are ridiculously hard). Loves to teach his friends how to bake things because it’s fun and it makes Peter feel helpful and good at something. He is the person who makes the birthday cakes for everyone and pride cakes whenever anyone comes out. Is so good he could actually pursue it as a career and be very successful.
Lily - a “must follow the recipe exactly” kind of cook. The food she makes is amazing and she usually likes to make A LOT of it. making and giving food to her friends is one of her love languages. But if she can’t find an ingredient for a meal, then she just won’t make it. There is no such thing as substitutions in her mind. and if something isn’t going right then she will start over. her perfectionism can be exhausting so sometimes if she’s not in the mood for making a perfect meal then she’ll just make toast. Either she will give her cooking her all or she just won’t try.
Mary - very talented cook and baker. her grandmother and mum taught her how to cook and now she can make the tastiest meals without even trying. It just comes naturally to her. *tastes something she’s making* “oh i know what it’s missing”. Thought that this is how everyone cooks until she made food with people outside of her family. doesn’t use a recipe but her food always comes out perfect. She could literally spend 30 minutes on something and it will be in the top 10 meals you’ve had in your life. Enjoys cooking with her friends so much, she loves sharing things that make her happy with the people she cares about (even if they kinda ruin her food). Loves to add a lot of chilli to her food but has to turn it down when she’s cooking for others because she has the highest spice tolerance of them all.
Marlene - also the type of person who would burn water. Has definitely sent people to the hospital from her cooking before. legally not allowed to enter a kitchen.
Regulus - Has like 10 recipes that he rotates between. He only cooks them but it’s fine because they’re really tasty. Mostly makes European dishes (especially French). absolutely despises when people try to cook with him. Cooking and the routine relaxes him so when people try to disturb him and then have the audacity to make his meal wrong, he will get frustrated. the type of person who makes his own bread and pasta. Bakes non sweet desserts, like croissants and herb ice cream yk
Pandora - thinks she can cook how she makes potions: by using her natural talent. This can create some incredible and unique dishes (that she cannot recreate) or it can lead to one of the most disgusting things you have ever eaten. There is no in between. Following a recipe? Not allowed in her kitchen. There’s a lot of experimentation in her cooking and baking and she really just follows her instincts.
Dorcas - amazing cook, terrible baker. loves to watch baking and cooking shows and imagines herself in their shoes and what dish she would cook. one of those chefs that can have NOTHING in their fridge but is still able to make something delicious. hosts dinners for their friends but doesn’t let anyone cook with her (yes. Another control freak when it comes to cooking). she loves to cook traditional food from zimbabwe (where i headcanon she’s from) for their friends because she loves to teach others about their culture. One of her biggest frustrations is how they can’t bake at all. It always turns out wrong even if she followed a recipe exactly.

I saw your old post about “James Potter would kill for Remus” and it made me remember that their friendship is R E A L L Y underrated. Do you have any hcs involving them?
of course I do dear anon, I'm always up for some quality James & Remus friendship
Remus presses all of James's motherly buttons. the boy forgets to eat, drink, doesn't sleep right, he's just a mess, and it gives James an aneurysm every time
James is the one who wakes Remus early enough so Rem can still get some breakfast (cause, if he wakes up by himself, contrary to popular belief, Remus will get up five minutes before classes) - he's replaced by Sirius later cause Sirius is also an early riser, and he ends up sleeping in Rem's bed through all of 7th year, so it's just more convenient
James often will bring snacks too - Remus, if caught up in something, won't get up for hours, and he's not even aware of being hungry. James just periodically pushes snacks towards him and Remus eats them without realising
if it wasn't for James, Remus would accidentally fall asleep in his binder at least three times a week. sometimes he's just too tired/lazy to take his clothes off and James has to nudge him until he takes it off
they actually bond over both of them having a crush on Lily in fifth year. James isn't really that jealous - it's nice to have someone to talk to about it, since Sirius is really awkward about talking to girls (in mids of his gay awakening and all)
Remus is very sleepy the few days after the full, and his secretly favourite place to nap is James's bed. James has the softest pillows somehow
Remus teaches James (& Sirius) all about various Muggle trinkets, especially during the summer
often enough, actually, they'd hang out by themselves cause Sirius isn't allowed to visit over the summer before he ran away. so a lot of the times, James would visit the Lupins and go crazy about Mrs Lupin's car or even the microwave
the pride on James's face when he successfully brewed coffee 'the muggle way', you should have seen it
James's dad is a professional potioneer, ofc. James spends a lot of time in his lab, asking him about either potions about werewolves, or gender changes. "out of curiosity" he says, but I mean. he's not exactly subtle. I wouldn't be surprised if his parents knew everything there is to know about all of his friends
when James visited once, Remus took him to the fair that was in town. and that day he was the first, and only one of James's friends, to learn that James is terrified of clowns (it's not like James knew what clowns were before that). they agreed not to speak about it any more, and Remus just bought them far too much cotton candy and they fucked around doing nothing all day
Remus doesn't miss a Quidditch practice. He's not interested in the sport at all, but he knows James likes the reassurance of his friends being there.
similarly, Remus always lets James ramble about tactics. Remus doesn't understand shit, and James knows. James just likes to talk to Remus, and Remus likes the sound of James's voice as background noise
sometimes they'll sneak out of the dorms late at night and drink hot chocolate in the kitchens - usually a day or two before the full, when Remus can't sleep
James is convinced only Remus knows how to properly make tea. it doesn't taste quite as good when anyone else makes it
Remus pierced one of James's ears once at night in 6th year (totally not cause Lily mentioned boys look cute in earrings)
Lily used to think Remus talks about James a lot to try and get her to date him but nah. Remus just talks about James a lot
they bond over their mutual hate of raisins. sometimes there's full on battles in the dorms cause Sirius and Peter like them and James and Remus aggressively hate them
Remus looses most of his own shit but somehow he's aware of where James's glasses are at all times
James, unlike Sirius, knows when Remus can handle himself. Sirius is ready to throw hands whenever anyone offends Remus. James, on the other hand, lets Rem handle it. he only steps in when he sees someone's words Really hit him deep. then you're fucked
on the other hand, Remus has many fun hexes dedicated to people who like to talk shit about James. & no one ever suspects him cause he's a prefect
Remus really likes to steal James's sweatshirts cause they always smell a bit nicer than anyone else's laundry, for some reason
Remus bought James a salt lick for his birthday once. many people have licked it since then (Remus himself included)
#no one can resit a salt lick ok#remus lupin#james Potter#sirius black#the marauders#my tag#headcanon tag#ask tag#anon tag#trans remus#James and Remus deserve all the good things

Chapter 3
Summary: After being removed from his own time, Agent Daniel Sousa finds himself in 2020 lost, alone and vulnerable. You, an Avenger, find yourself face to face with Director Coulson and Agent May begging you to help another man out of time. This time however, instead of a super soldier, you meet an average man haunted by war and a time he once knew. Pairings: Daniel Sousa x Reader.
“I think he’s spiralling. He’s been obsessively reading those files you gave him; he barely eats, I usually have to force him out of his room to interact with me. I gave him a book on world history but apart from that he knows the basics, but he doesn’t really want to throw himself into it.” You told Phil as you slowly walked up the stairs to your apartment building, “We’re having a few hiccups, but nothing I can’t handle,” You slightly grimaced at the memory of Daniel placing a tin can in the microwave, “Just like teaching a baby,” You thought about it for a moment, “A baby who can use a gun and possibly beat the ever living hell out of me. Anyway, how are you going about this bracelet removal thing?” “I currently have the absolute best I have to offer working on it for you. She says she should have something to try within the week,” A pause, “Are you sure you wanna go down this path? If Ross finds out what’s happening, there’s only so much I can do to keep you out of the Raft. And that’s if he’s feeling nice,” You paused out the front of your apartment door, silence falling between the pair of you for a moment, “I can’t help Daniel the same way I helped Steve if I don’t have it off. And I’m scared that he’ll be swallowed by this darkness if I don’t help him, he’s not a super soldier, he’s not enhanced in any way. He’s just a normal guy who was struggling with the aftermath of the war and now pulled out of time. I’m not scared of the Raft Phil. And I’m absolutely not scared of General Ross,” “I’ll see what I can do,”. You gave him a soft thanks as you placed your phone back into your pocket, giving a small smile to Audrey who walked past you clutching the gem necklace that hung around her neck tightly in her hand. She paused for a moment, “How’s having a new roommate?” “He’s very quiet,” You laughed as you shifted your bags from one hand to another. Audrey shrugged her shoulders, “He’ll come around. New York is a big change if you’re not used to it,” You laughed, “Anyway I should get going. I need to pick up some flowers on the way to see my grandparent’s graves,” “Awh,” You gave her a sad smile, “What type?” “Lilies, my grandma loved lilies. Granddad not so much, but he’d fill the house with them to make her happy,” You grinned, “They’re my favourite as well. He sounds wonderful,” “He was. He was my best friend,”. Audrey gave a small wave to you as she made her way down the path you had just come from. You watched as the brunette walked away before turning back to the door and pushing it open. You could smell the familiar aroma of coffee mixed in with your floral air freshener. You walked into the kitchen, dumping the bags on the counter and pulling out several packets of meat, sauces and pastas, “I’ve decided,” You began as Daniel walked into the kitchen to see what you were doing, “To cook tonight. Phil introduced me to this amazing pasta recipe back when I first started with the Avengers Initiative. And I figured since I haven’t really had the chance to introduce you to my cooking since arriving, now would be a great opportunity. Whatdya say?” You gave him a large grin as you held up the mince packet and the large jar of sauce Daniel gave a soft smile and shook his head, “I’ve love too, but uh,” He pointed back to his bedroom, “I have some things I need to finish first,” “I swear I’m not an awful cook,” You bargained, placing the items down on the bench and leaning forward, “In fact I used to regularly be the chef at the compound. Along with Wanda of course,” “Wanda?” “Maximoff. She’s another enhanced. I hope you both get to meet one day,” You smiled gently at him as he came and sat down at the breakfast bench, leaving his walking stick hanging off the bench by it’s handles. “Okay. I’ll give your cooking a try. On the condition that I cook tomorrow night,” A larger smile crossed your face. This was good. This was him coming out of his shell, a sense of normalcy, “I supervise,” “You supervise,” You couldn’t help the smile that grew across your face as a smile crossed his own. You could still see the haunted look in his deep brown eyes as he smiled back, but you couldn’t help but to count this as a victory. Here he was, with you, away from his bedroom and his case files, a cup of coffee in his hands that he made himself; and you figured that perhaps you didn’t need your bracelet to know what was happening with Daniel Sousa, maybe all you needed was to use your brain.
<>
You couldn't help but to play with the silver glistening bracelet, even though it was an item that took away your identity, something that you should hate more than anything on this planet, but you loved the way it shone in the sun. You loved how sometimes, when the light from the streetlights hit the right angle, it could illuminate in the night. Like a glowing beacon in a storm.
The night air was cool around your body, the silky pyjamas Tony had brought you a year earlier for your birthday didn't do much to keep out the bitter chill that the Winter nights were bringing in. Your fingers traced the silver band, small dents from the many times you had tried to remove it littered the polished surface. A small yawn escaped your lips as your arm fell limply by your side and you resumed staring up at the darkened ceiling. Sleep wasn't coming easy for you; the worry you held for Daniel was almost suffocating.
With Steve, he would at the very least sit with you on the couch while blankly watching whatever show was on the television. But with Daniel he would hole himself away where you couldn’t see his emotions. You knew that he was trying so hard to be strong, but even the strongest rocks crumble.
You knew he was in his room, because you could hear him occasionally shuffling around. A part of you wanted to go into him, to sit with him so you could reassure him that he had someone to talk too; however you knew that this was something that he had to experience for himself, something he had to deal with by himself.
There was no going back to the past for him, there was only moving forward, and if this was the way he could do that, then you would support him every step of the way.
With a groan, you pushed your blankets back and moved out of your large bed, wrapping your dressing gown around your body and making your way into the kitchen. You didn't put the kettle on like you normally would have, instead you reached into the pantry and pulled out a small pocket of chocolate biscuits before climbing on to the bench, the packet of open biscuits sitting beside you as you watched the shining lights of the New York skyline from your window.
And that was how Daniel found you moments later when he limped out and looked at you in shock, as if he hadn't been expecting anyone else to be awake at this time of night.
"Sup?" You offered; a mouth still filled with a half-chewed biscuit. You reached down and picked up the packet, holding the open end to him, "Biscuit. You bailed pretty quick after dinner," You gave a small shrug when he shook his head, placing the packet back down, "Which is a shame because there was a great movie on tonight you would have enjoyed,"
"Would’ve I? 4 weeks I've been living here, and I can't say our ideas of a good movie match yet," Daniel replied. stepping further into the kitchen, reaching into a cupboard and pulling out a glass, "Dinner was good though. Thank you," He poured some water in the glass as you ate another biscuit.
"Yeah of course it was, I cooked it," You joked, remembering how he hate barely half what he had on his plate. You noticed the dark grey circles under his eyes, how pale his skin was looking, the slight shake in his hand, "You should eat something though,"
He rinsed the empty glass under the running tap as he rose an eyebrow, "Like chocolate biscuits?"
"I never said I was the healthiest person in the world" Your smile faltered as you saw the somewhat distressed look on the agent’s face, “Are you okay? It’s 2am,”
Daniel shook his head and leaned against the granite countertop, his eyes downcast as if he were searching for the strength to actually open up to you. You knew it was going to be difficult for him to do so, especially coming out of the time period he did where men showing any sort of emotion was a sign of weakness. You stopped chewing and watched him closely, watching as his jaw clenched, his fingers grabbing on to the edge of the counter as if he were using it to physically hold himself up.
You decided to take the initiative in this conversation. He barely even knew anything about you, perhaps he wouldn’t open to you until you opened to him.
“I’m an empath,” You started.
Daniel’s eyes shot up to meet yours, his eyebrows furrowing as to ask why you were talking about it. Instead of acknowledging it, you just held up your wrist, once again showing him your band and gave a small smile, “I can feel other people’s emotions with just a touch. I can also manipulate them to feel what I want them to feel. Both a blessing and a curse that one,” You gave a self-depreciating smile, “Ever since I’ve had this band on it’s like I’m missing a piece of myself. I can touch things; I can touch people and I feel nothing. There’s just this emptiness inside me that I can’t find anything to fill it with. It’s the reason why I need it off,”
“Do you feel everything? Or are you able to control it?” Daniel asked, his posture somewhat more relaxed now that you were talking about yourself instead of whatever was going on in his head.
A short nod, “Yeah. I lived in a compound with an egotistical genius who never slept, a super soldier from 1945, a genius with awful anger issues, and two assassins. You don’t live with those type of people and not learn how to control it. Although, when someone’s feeling something and it’s overpowering, I can feel that no matter how hard I try to stop it,”
You remember putting your hand on Tony’s shoulder after he watched that video of his parents dying, the pure rage and betrayal spread through his body and into your mind. Tears welled in your eyes as your body almost crumbled under the weight of grief your friend was feeling. Swallowing deeply, you shook away the memory and turned back to Daniel who was watching you with curious eyes.
“You look tired, you should get to bed,” He gave a lopsided smile, watching as a small smile crossed your own face.
“I’m worried about you,” You admitted, catching Daniel’s brown eyes with your own and holding them.
He shook his head, “Don’t be. I’m okay,”
“Liar,”
A small smile crossed his face as he reached over and grabbed a biscuit out of the packet, holding it up to show you that he had it. You watched as he took a bite of it and leaned on the counter.
“I’ve just sort of realised that no matter what, I’m not going back. I can’t walk around my neighbourhood again, see friends, family. I miss them,”
“Would you go back? If you had a chance?”
“In a heartbeat” There was zero hesitation in his voice, his eyes showing the desperation, the sadness he felt missing his loved ones.
“I’m sorry” You stated quietly.
“Me Too”

How would the Exceeds handle lockdown? Happy, Carla, Lily, Lector, Frosch, Samuel. Let's throw in Marl and Lucky too.
well, carla is trying to teach happy to read, and ignoring her premonitions showing that's it's never gonna work. happy only cares about books about fish and comic books - carla doesn't see comics as "proper literature" and doesn't have any book about fish other than the doctor seuss classic.
happy isn't very happy, ironically. his favourite pastimes include fishing, breaking into lucy's house, fishing, quests with extreme danger of death, fishing and eating some freshly caught fish. I'm sure you can see the problem here; all of them are impossible due to the lockdown rules. he's going crazy and making canned tuna smoothies (carla is Infinitely Disgusted). he's enjoying his reading lessons, though, because the comics he always brings always have such pretty pictures! even though carla won't let him read them...
carla is slowly going insane. she's flying around magnolia like a carrier pigeon, as she's the only one responsible enough to go outside. she does everyone's shopping and brings them "care packages" with gradually increasing levels of frustration. eventually she just slings shopping bags through marginally open windows. she's trying to teach happy to read, while at a safe distance away. happy is having none of it and keeps inching closer to her, and before soon his head is in her lap as she makes him anunciante a "ph" sound. she's so angry at his apparent LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF SOCIAL DISTANCING, but he won't listen to her otherwise. if he asks for one (1) more story about fishcakes, she's gonna have a mental breakdown
pantherlily is babysitting yaje and shutora and gajeel. he's trying to keep levy sane, but being stuck inside with two small babies and one very big baby is not easy. he asks carla to bring a new book every day and has started repainting the nursery room, again. he doesn't seem fussed with his newfound responsibility; changing the twins' diapers and hoovering and stopping them from crying when gajeel starts practising guitar. inside he's screaming. he's been in the house, not working, for two whole months, and yet has not had a WINK of sleep since last Friday. he and levy are closer than ever and do the laundry together, doing duets from musicals and being absolutely knackered when they try to work out whos clothes are whose. the house was deepcleaned, at one point, but now it's so filthy and there are dirty socks and empty wrappers and the occasional fork strewn across the floor. gajeel keeps using toilet paper for things he shouldn't and lily isn't happy about it; there's a tp shortage, dammit!
frosch is a baby. they're keeping rogue's hair in his skull, because without them he would've pulled it out in frustration by now. they don't really understand that there's a pandemic, and are kinda confused that everyone's been home for three months. the concept of lockdown eludes them, but they do as they're told and stay in the house. the frogs at the end of the garden that they've been looking after are growing up now and most of them have gone on their sticky little way. they come back to visit them though, and they sleep together a lot. frosch naps on rogue's lap most of the day, and picks out what box sets they should watch together. they've seen f•r•i•e•n•d•s at least six times. frosch is really enjoying it! they get to be with rogue 24/7 (not that they can count to either of those numbers) and there's no danger of painful death or torture or gore this time! they're loving it! although if they understood the circumstances, maybe they wouldn't...
lector has appointed himself Sting's Best Friend and Bodyguard and Royal Advisor (SBFBRA for short). everytime sting leaves the house, he follows with a massive fuck-off sword, to make sure people stay 6ft away. anytime anyone even gets close - maybe because the crosswalk just isn't wide enough - he hisses at them and prods them away with the hilt, as a warning. he's coming out of lockdown ripped; when he's not acting as SBFBRA he's converting his room into a gym. he spends twenty hours a day on a rowing machine, and ten on the dumbbells, and five on the treadmills, and apparently zero on the maths textbooks. he also learned to crochet.
samuel's electricity bill is higher than snoop dogg at the top of the tower of babel. his TV is on constantly, on the news, and he's getting updates on every device he has. he's always waiting to find out when the lockdown ends, because there's only so many novels you can write. his library/house is out of books that he hasn't read. he's playing dnd by himself and DMing himself, and plays monopoly alone, and plays tridimensional chess alone, and- well, you get the picture. he is DONE with this shit. he deconstructed a microwave and made a typewriter with the parts. he's contemplated going outside but according to all his calculations of every possibility, there's just too high a risk. he's not enjoying lockdown at all; not because his daily routine has changed (it hasn't), but because the shop that he buys his organic probiotic yoghurt from is still closed. he's started a podcast about The Art of Vagueposting. noone listens to it.
I hope this was worth the wait!! I apologise, I simply don't know enough about marl, lucky (happy's parents?) and touka to write about them
what do you think, my fluffy friend?

Before I Dive... Chapter 17
It’s FRIDAY! So I decided to give you FRI-YAY! by posting!
Just so you lovelies know, there is smut in this chapter. Amy’s getting a bit more brave, and Richard definitely likes it. :)
Also, please let me know if you want to be tagged. I’m so bad at keeping track of these things.
Enjoy!
“And then you slapped him?”
Amy nodded, blushing. Rocio’s eyes stayed wide, trying to imagine her friend that upset. She started giggling after a moment.
“You slapped him. Tenes bolas, hermana,” Rocio said, squeezing Amy’s hand.
“I’m not proud that I slapped him,” Amy replied quietly. “Now that we’ve talked everything through. I was just in the middle of a breakdown, I think.”
“Si, si,” she said. “But remind me not to get on your bad side.”
Amy giggled. “Yeah, Richard said something similar that day.”
“So you two are okay?” Rocio asked, taking a drink.
Amy nodded, taking a bite of her scone. “We have a plan. He didn’t realize how much something like this could cause so much anxiety, so we talked it over. We’re not going public yet, unless something major happens. We’re not telling a lot of people. But we’re not going to deny anything if it’s printed.”
“That makes sense. And it’s nice to hear that he’s taking your feelings into consideration.”
“Well, yeah. And I’m taking his into consideration for keeping things quiet for now. He wants me to himself for as long as he can.”
“That’s just until I step in and turn your duo into a trio.”
Amy rolled her eyes, taking a drink of her coffee. “Oh, I have something I need you to sign.”
“Like what?” Rocio asked, brow furrowing.
“Just a confidentiality agreement,” she said, digging through her bag. “Saying you won’t tell anyone that you know Richard and I are dating. Ah! Here it is!”
“No,” Rocio said without taking the paper. “I won’t do it.”
Amy creased the folds of the paper nervously. “Ro, it’s really nothing big. I know you’re not going to tell anyone. This is just a little extra assurance.”
Amy held out the paper. Rocio leaned back and crossed her arms.
“If you know I’m not going to tell, why do I have to sign a piece of paper?” she asked.
“Ro, please. Would you just look at it?”
Rocio frowned, snatching the paper from Amy and opening it up. She started to giggle, the paper fluttering to the table. Amy had written in bright red crayon:
I, Rocio, pinky promise not to tell that Richy is giving Amy cooties and she likes it.
She looked up to see Amy holding out a blue crayon.
“Hermana, estas loca,” Rocio laughed. “Te quiero.”
“Te quiero tambien,” Amy replied, smiling when Rocio tore the paper to shreds.
“Oh dear lord, where did you dig this up?” Richard said, flinching as his younger self appeared on the screen of Amy's laptop.
“YouTube,” she said, scooting over so he could join her on her bed. “I'm trying to watch your work in order. But I can't find Complicity, or that one about your aunt.”
“Barmy Aunt Boomerang,” he said, trying to pry the laptop from her fingers.
“So next was Hope Springs. I think I'm going to buy you some pullovers and straight-leg jeans for Christmas,” she giggled, kissing his cheek.
Richard groaned, flopping back on the bed. Amy set her laptop aside, curling up next to him. His arm automatically wrapped around her.
“You're adorable,” she told him. “What were you, like 15?”
“More like 23,” he said, brushing her hair back.
“So right out of college then?”
“No, I did Romeo and Juliet and Noughts and Crosses on stage before Hope Springs,” he said, lazily combing his fingers through her hair.
Amy propped herself up on her elbow, staring at him. He looked over at her, puzzled.
“What?”
“You've done R&J?” she asked.
“A couple times. Most recently with your roommate last year. Why?”
Amy flopped back. “I’d give anything to see you do Shakespeare.”
He watched her eyes flutter close and she sighed, a dreamy smile floating across her face.
“What are…”
“Shh, shh, I'm dreaming of you as Romeo,” she whispered.
“Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope’s ear,
Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear.
So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows
As yonder lady o'er her fellows shows.
The measure done, I’ll watch her place of stand,
And, touching hers, make blessèd my rude hand.
Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night,” he whispered in her ear, her smile growing broader.
“Sigh. I can die happy now,” she said, her eyes opening to sink into the depths of his ocean.
“Lily should have the DVD. We broadcasted it here a few times during the run,” he said, nuzzling her nose with his.
“Oh God, really?” she said excitedly.
Richard couldn’t stop Amy as she jumped out of bed, running to the living room. He chuckled when she came back, leaping and landing next to him on the bed.
“I take it you found it?” he asked, grabbing her waist so she didn’t tumble from the bed.
“Please?” she said, nodding.
Richard sat up, chuckling as she squealed and ran from the room again. By the time he made it out to the living room, he could smell the popcorn she had stuck in the microwave. He spun as she hurried past him from the bathroom, plunking a box of tissues onto the coffee table. He settled onto the couch, watching as she gingerly took the popcorn out of the microwave, dumped it into a bowl, then scurried over to curl up on his extended legs.
“Hi,” she said, kissing his nose.
“Hi,” he laughed, adjusting her to sit between his legs, leaning her back against his chest.
Amy reached over and grabbed the remote, hitting play. She snuggled back into the crook of Richard’s arm as he reached down and picked up a few pieces of popcorn. She giggled when he pushed her head into his shoulder to get the popcorn to his mouth.
A few hours later…
Richard picked up the remote and stopped the DVD. He’d been watching tears roll down Amy’s cheeks for the last 10 minutes, and now it looked like she was silently sobbing. He reached to brush her cheek with his thumb and Amy scampered out of his lap.
“I’m sorry,” she said, hurrying to the bathroom.
Richard rushed to follow her, seeing her sitting on the edge of the bathtub with her face buried in her hands. He knelt down in front of her, pulling her into his arms.
“I’m sorry you have to see me like this,” she whispered. “I’m PMS-ing. I’m overreacting.”
Richard didn’t say a word, just held her as she tried to get her emotions in check.
“But that was just so beautiful. You were just so beautiful,” she said, pulling back to look him in the eye. “There was such a pureness to you, your acting. And when you thought Juliet had died…shit.”
Amy tried to fight the tears but ended up crying again. Richard held her close and kissed the side of her head.
“You are such a sweet girl,” he murmured in her ear. “Such a pure heart.”
Amy pulled back and kissed Richard, trying to pour her emotions out there instead of as tears. Richard cupped her face, his hands soaking up the droplets. Amy slowly increased the intensity of her kiss, her hands pulling Richard’s shoulders closer. Richard pulled back, resting his forehead on hers.
“And your lips drive me crazy,” he said, making her chuckle.
“I could say the same to you,” she said, kissing him again.
“I’d rather not make out in the bathroom,” he whispered as she started down his neck.
BEGIN SMUT
They slowly stood up, Richard leading them back out to the couch. He sat down and Amy straddled his legs, leaning in to kiss him again.
“Lily’s...gone...right?” he said between kisses.
“Croatia,” Amy whispered, starting to pull at his shirt.
He groaned when she ground her hips against him as she kissed him hard. His fingers found the edge of her t-shirt, then snuck beneath to her bare skin. Amy gasped when he started rolling her nipples between his thumbs and index fingers. Her head fell back and Richard took the opportunity, slowly snaking the tip of his tongue up from the hollow of her throat. Amy bore down a little harder with her hips, the stiffness of Richard’s jeans brushing her clit through her lounge pants.
“Mmmm,” she moaned.
Her fingers found the edge of Richard’s shirt and pulled, working it up over Richard’s head. She leaned forward, kissing him again, her fingers tangling with his chest hair as she slowly roamed his chest. She continued rubbing her hips against his, loving the feeling of Richard’s body reacting to hers. She felt him trail his fingers down her body to her hips, stilling her.
“You keep that up, I won’t be able to stop myself from taking you right here and now,” he whispered, nibbling her earlobe.
Amy whimpered, pushing her hips down hard but not rolling them again like she wanted to. She leaned her head on Richard’s shoulder, but then started kissing him there.
“I want to,” she whispered. “But I’m scared.”
“Love, we don’t have to do that,” he said. “Not until you are entirely comfortable.”
She felt her hands move down his chest to the waistband of his pants. He felt her work the zipper down after undoing the button, pulling him out of his pants. She wrapped her hand around him as she started nipping along his collarbone.
“I think I’m just scared of what it would mean,” she whispered against his neck.
Richard moaned as she rubbed her hips against the base of his cock as she jerked him off.
“What what would mean?” he asked, trying to get out a coherent thought.
“Doing it,” she said, leaning her head on his shoulder. “What it would mean for us.”
He glanced over to see her staring at his cock as she pleasured him. He reached over and turned her face to him, but her eyes drifted back to his penis.
“I wonder if you’ll even fit,” she whispered. “Inside me.”
He wrapped his hand around hers, stopping it. She glanced over at him, blushing.
“My sweet girl,” he said, kissing her.
“I want you,” she said softly. “I want to know what it feels like. And I know you will be…”
“Love, it’s okay. We can take our time,” he said, kissing down her neck.
“I just don’t want you to be disappointed in me,” she whispered, brushing her hips against him again.
Richard could only shake his head no as he released Amy’s hand and she started stroking him again. As she sped up, his head fell back to lean on the couch and Amy kissed and nipped at his neck.
“Do you want to be inside me?” she whispered, increasing her hand pressure. “Do you want to fuck me?”
Richard whined as he nodded. He’d never peg Amy for dirty talk but he wasn’t going to say a word against it.
“I’m so wet right now,” she said, her lips brushing his earlobe. “You’d probably just slide right in.”
Richard bucked his hips against Amy’s, cumming as she gently bit his earlobe. He chuckled as he caught his breath.
“What’s so funny?” she whispered, still nuzzled into his neck.
“You seem to think biting my earlobe is the only way to get me to cum,” he said, turning to look at her.
“No, but it seems to work pretty well,” she said, a coy smile on her face.
“My sweet girl,” he said, kissing her.
He shifted her off his lap, tucking himself back into his underwear. He could swear he heard her whisper “Bye Little Richy” but when he looked over at her, she had a completely innocent look on her face. He growled as he leaned in to kiss her, bracing his arms on either side of her head. He could feel her giggling against his lips and it drove him crazy.
Amy gasped when Richard reached down, shoving her pants and underwear to her knees. Her eyes fluttered closed, moaning when he ground his hips against her center. Her hips reflexively drifted up to stay in contact with his as he pulled away.
“Oh, someone like that?” he whispered. “Maybe my sweet girl isn’t so sweet.”
He ground his hips against hers again, earning a whimper from Amy. He started kissing his way down her neck, stopping at her clavicle. He grinned wolfishly at her before he started to suck on her pale skin.
“Shit, Richard,” she moaned.
She tried to push him away, but he continued sucking and licking before pulling away with a satisfying “pop”. He smiled at the small purple bruise forming there, but Amy punched his chest.
“I haven’t had a hickey since I was like 19,” she groaned, shaking her head.
“Just wanted to mark you mine,” he said, continuing to kiss down her chest through her shirt.
His body rested on her legs as he started sucking on her stomach. He felt her trying to push his head away, so he reached up, grasping her wrists. He kissed her skin after he finished giving her another small mark before slowly dragging his lips down to her inner thigh. She gasped when he nipped at the sensitive skin there, then growled slightly when he started sucking.
“Please remind me to pay you back for this,” she whispered.
“I’m sure you won’t need reminding,” he laughed, resting his cheek on her leg as he took a moment to look at her.
Her eyelids fluttered as his hands brushed her inner thighs, hooding her darkened blue eyes. Her mouth hung open slightly, her breath coming in shorter and shorter gasps as his hands neared her center. He lowered his lips to start sucking again, watching her mouth form a frown but still hanging open slightly.
“Please suck something else,” she moaned, trying to shift her hips under him.
“Mmm, might have to be more specific,” he said, moving to her other thigh and giving her another hickey. “Or I’ll keep doing this all night.”
Amy lifted her head to meet his gaze. “Is it the dirty talk? Dammit, I knew I shouldn’t have started that.”
She let her head drop back onto the pillow again, covering her eyes with her arm to hide her mortification. He chuckled as the blush crept down her neck to her chest. She lifted her arm, seeing if she could get out of what he was asking, but he just shook his head, leaning towards her thigh again.
“I’d like you to...,” she muttered, rushing and mumbling her last few words.
“Didn’t quite hear that,” he said, brushing his lips over her mound.
Amy flung her arm off her face, propping herself up so she could look at Richard. He smiled at her, kissing her lower lips.
“I’d like you to fuck me with your mouth,” she said huskily. “Because if you don’t, I’m about ready to take care of things myself.”
He grinned. “As much as I’d love to see that, it will have to wait for another time.”
Amy didn’t have a chance to respond as Richard dove in, fluttering his tongue against her clitoris before starting to take long licks. He loved hearing the little gasps and moans as he worked to pleasure her, sucking on her clitoris until she squeaked, then working his tongue inside her. He felt Amy’s hips buck when he slowly flicked his tongue against her clit, then looking up for her reaction.
“Fucking hell,” she whispered. “Quit your bloody teasing.”
He chuckled against her, moving to insert two fingers into her vagina, starting to scissor slightly once she relaxed around him. He started to curl his fingers, finding a small spongy area that made Amy arch her back. He let his fingertips massage that small area, bringing a slew of curse words from Amy’s mouth, her hips bucking and back arching. He started fluttering his tongue against her clit while continuing rubbing inside her, Amy going breathless, small squeaks escaping until she started shuddering, the muscles of her vagina beginning to pulse around his fingers. He stilled his fingers, pulling his face back slightly, smiling as her body continued to shudder for a minute.
Richard felt his heart flutter just a bit, watching her slowly sink into the couch, a look of utter satisfaction on her flushed face. He kissed her down there again, making her twitch, before slowly sliding himself up the couch, wedging himself in between Amy and the couch. Amy didn’t move save for trying to catch her breath. Richard nuzzled her cheek with his nose, brushing his lips over her skin until she finally opened her eyes.
“Hi,” he whispered.
“Are you an angel?” she whispered.
“What?”
“Just wondering if I’ve died and this is heaven,” she said, closing her eyes as he pulled her closer in his arms.
“Might be heaven, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t kill you,” he chuckled, kissing her cheek.
“Pretty damn close,” she said slowly. “Do me a favor?” she asked after cuddling a few moments.
“Anything,” he said, nuzzling her ear.
“Buy my roommate a new couch.” She stopped as he burst out laughing. “I don’t think I’ll be able to look at her with a straight face after tonight.”

“I think the piece of pizza might possibly be my favorite so far.” Shirayuki pushed the cheap wig out of her eyes and tried to readjust the bobby pins that were holding it in place, but it kept sagging over her forehead. Obi could tell her head was hot and itchy, and she had been scratching at it all night, but all of this was for the kids. And he secretly thought she kind of liked dressing up in matching costumes.
“Or the piece of popcorn.”
[more under the cut]
“I think I liked the shark the best. She was cute.” Obi grinned over at her, taking a moment to reapply some makeup to her cheek that had smeared over the night. Shirayuki leaned into his touch, and he couldn’t keep his heart from jumping to life again. How in the world was this so easy with her? “With her little homemade fins covered in tinfoil and her pillowcase. Very creative.”
“I can tell, you gave her extra candy.” Shirayuki smoothed out her polyester dress and sat next to him on the sofa.
“That’s what you do. You give thoughtful costumes extra candy. I’ve seen at least ten Captain America’s tonight, and only one shark.”
“Okay, okay… I’ll give you that one.”
Her small form molded to his own, and she rested her head on his shoulder, trying not to smear any more makeup on his costume. The television was playing The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but neither one of them was really watching it - it was just noise and glitter in the background. Obi wrapped his arm around her shoulder and drug her closer to him, enjoying the soft warmth she offered. It seemed as if the whole world had stopped and was allowing them this moment just for themselves. Obi had spent the whole summer feeling like he was stumbling through everything he knew he wanted from her, but didn’t know how to say it and now…
“You’re losing a bolt on your neck, you know.” She laughed and leaned up to kiss his jaw, coming away with a green smear on her lips.
...now it felt like he’d stumbled upon some new kind of Nirvana. He didn’t know his heart could feel this full and happy all the time. His arms wrapped tightly around her and rubbed his nose against her own, listening to her laughter as both their make-up smeared. He knew that it wouldn’t be much more time before this faded and her time here would come to an end. He wasn’t trying to fool himself into thinking that she would stay here with him, but for a little while longer he could ignore it. For a few more months, he would just live in this fantasy.
The doorbell rang and Obi got up from the sofa, to head to his front door. Shirayuki followed him - after all Herman couldn’t be without his Lily. They opened the door expecting Trick-or-Treaters and were instead met with the panicked face of his next door neighbor. She was dressed in her scrubs with her hospital keycard hanging around her neck.
“Oh. Mrs. Hernandez. What can I do for you?”
“Obi, I am so sorry… I know it’s Halloween, and I’m sure you have a hundred other things you could be doing, but Rebecca is out of town for a conference in Las Vegas, and I was just called into the hospital, and… I need someone to watch Ryuu.” She winced, as if expecting him to snap at her. “Rebecca and I thought we’d be okay without the sitter this weekend, can I-”
“We can watch him.” Shirayuki stepped forward with a small smile, and Obi watched as her wig inched forward again. She looked so silly trying to be serious and professional in that costume, and it nearly broke his heart with a wave of feelings he couldn’t quite name. “It’s not a problem. I know you have a lot going on, and we don’t mind helping out.”
Ryuu peeked out from behind Mrs. Hernandez’s back, his face as serious and sullen as the first time Obi had met him. His hands were wrapped around a book about desert wildlife, and he met Shirayuki’s face with cautious regard before speaking. “Who are you?”
“I’m Shirayuki.” Her voice was soft a chipper, and she gave Ryuu the sweetest smile Obi had ever seen. “I’m Obi’s girlfriend.”
Obi felt like he had been slapped in the face and he turned to look at her, his heart jumping into his throat. Had she really said… she had. Shirayuki had just introduced herself as his girlfriend - not just a friend, not lover - girlfriend. His head started to buzz with emotion and excitement, and Obi found himself swallowing air just to keep his feet on the ground. He needed time to process this, but instead he was stuck here in front of his neighbor and her daughter, trying to hide the full spectrum of his emotions at something as silly as a title.
“Oh.” Ryuu drew the book tighter against his chest before walking toward Obi’s front door, making his way towards Shirayuki.
He looked intrigued with her, as if she was something new and fascinating, but also a little cautious. Obi hadn’t ever seen him so curious about another person before. Ryuu was a good kid - smarter than he let on, and kind just like his parents - but he was shy, and probably a little reclusive. Obi had been helping Mrs. Hernandez out since her and Rebecca had adopted Ryuu a few years ago, and Obi could count on one hand how many words Ryuu had said to him.
“Oh my gosh, you guys are lifesavers.” Mrs. Hernandez breathed a sigh of relief and she readjusted her purse on her shoulder. “Thank you so much. I should be back around one in the morning?”
“Just let him stay here all night. We can bring him over in the morning.” Obi waved her off and looked over at Shirayuki as she ducked down to look at the book Ryuu was showing her. He was opening to her like a flower did to the sun, and Obi’s heart started to skip again. Dear God, she was a natural at this. “I think they like each other.”
“You are the best, Obi. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ll bring you food for breakfast.” She leaned up and kissed his cheek before darting off his patch of dirt that somehow constituted a lawn. Before he could utter a response, Mrs. Hernandez had already disappeared into her car and was driving down the street.
Obi smiled and looked back down at Shirayuki as she leaned over Ryuu, reading the book with him. His heart twisted in his chest and he wanted nothing more than to reach out and pull both of them into his arms, holding them tight. Instead he hovered by the door, glancing at the clock. “Ryuu, did you already go trick-or-treating?”
He looked up from his book and shook his head. “No. We didn’t have time to before mom got the call from the hospital.”
Obi caught Shirayuki’s stare and his smile widened. “You know what Herman and Lily need?”
Shirayuki giggled and glanced down at Ryuu. “An Eddie.”
-
It was nearly two hours later when Obi and Shirayuki returned to his small house, with Ryuu almost falling asleep on Obi’s back as he held tight to the pillowcase filled to the point of bursting with candy. They had been stopped at least twice to have their pictures taken by strangers, and even Shirayuki and Obi had managed to snag a few treats as they wove through the neighborhood.
“See, you get way more candy if you have a family costume. It’s scientific fact.” Obi set Ryuu on the sofa, and Ryuu flailed a bit until he propped himself up against the armrest, holding onto his book again.
Ryuu pursed his lips and looked up at him. “I still don’t know who the Munsters are.”
“I’m injured by that thought.” Obi laughed and pat his head. “Maybe someday there will be reruns again for you to enjoy. You should know all about the Munsters. They should teach it in school.”
Shirayuki locked the door and kicked off her shoes with a smile, her own body sagging just a little. “It’s getting pretty late, we should get to bed soon. We don’t want your moms mad with us because we let you stay up too late.”
“It’s not that late… and I don’t have any school tomorrow.” Ryuu shook his head and looked back up at them, closing his book again. “Can I stay up just a little later? Maybe watch a movie with you?”
Shirayuki smiled and pulled Ryuu into her arms, smearing the widow’s peak they’d made with leftover Halloween makeup. Ryuu stiffened for just a moment, almost as if he was still getting used to her easy, kind attention, before melting into her touch. He rested his head on her shoulder as she spoke. “I think that’s fine. But just for a little bit. Your moms are going to be mad if we let you stay up and eat sweets all the time.”
“So… I won’t eat any candy tonight?” He glanced over at Obi, and he laughed.
“Okay, okay… I get the hint.” Obi shook his head, and made his way to the kitchen, chuckling. “I’ll make popcorn for you two. Not technically a sweet.”
He poked through his cupboards until he managed to find the popcorn and threw a bag into the microwave. A few minutes of silence passed and Obi looked out into the living room and watched as Shirayuki’s head fell back against a throw pillow, lolling to the side. Ryuu was snuggled tight against her side, arms wrapped around her, and some silly Halloween special played on the television. He laughed quietly to himself, but his heart warmed with a feeling he couldn’t quite place.
Shirayuki had integrated herself so easily into his life that it was almost like she had always been there. Everything he owned had been touched by her in someway, and now he found himself thinking about her all the time. He thought about her little secretive smile, and the way she bit her lip when she was trying not to laugh at him, and the way she looked up at him as they snuggled together at night. He thought about how she didn’t pull away from his scars or his past, but instead found a way to draw closer to him.
He needed her in his life - every little part of her.
And here she was, calling herself his girlfriend.
“It’s okay… right…?”
Obi jerked from his thoughts to see Shirayuki looking at him over Ryuu’s sleeping head. Her eyes were barely open, but he could feel her stare shoot right through his soul. Obi leaned over the counter and swallowed, trying to keep himself pinned to the ground. “Is what okay?”
“That I’m your girlfriend?” She yawned and nestled deeper into the pillows. “I don’t-”
“As long as I can be your boyfriend.” He ignored the microwave as it beeped at him, letting him know his popcorn was finished. “I… I want this to be a two-way street.”
She smiled, her eyes closing again. “Boyfriend… I like it.”
He did too.

-being #godsiblings with harry and knowing him since birth (also knowing a lot about lily and james)
-not knowing who your mother is, but remus gives you little hints about who she is every once in awhile (like her initials, personality traits etc.)
-remus looking after you when sirius was in azkaban
-you writing well-written letters to the ministry telling them why he’s innocent and why he should be released
-them responding to each of the letters with ‘Give it a rest.’
-remus taking you to visit him even though when you see him you start crying because of the horrible shape he’s in, but you miss him, so you visit him anyways
-you being second cousins (I think that’s how it works) to draco, and teasing him constantly about it
-fred and george looking up to you (pun intended bc jesus christ they’re toll beans) because your dad is a marauder
-you having the curliest and wildest and longest hair and loving it
-having a three toed tree toad and naming it Padfoot
-having millions of pictures of baby harry and giving them all to him because most of them also include his parents and sirius and remus
-him kind of being the best dad ever and being your favorite person in the world
-you looking up to him
-when you can, wearing all black in honor of your last name
-being totally clumsy, but also hilarious
-being somewhat rebellious
-wanting his motorcycle
-him lowkey shipping you and harry (leaving the both of you alone in rooms together, setting up conversation topics for the both of you, and having a step-by-step plan of how to start your relationship (but it’s totally lowkey))
-you getting all of your O.W.L.s and sirius being the proudest dad on the planet
-being, like, really great friends with luna (you originally bonded over not really having a mother, but then bonded more because you had strange knowledge about the weirdest things because remus used to teach you about all different types of creatures when you were younger)
-you being pretty interested in some muggle things (glowsticks, lava lamps, aquariums, cream soda, pens, microwaves, muggle bands (probably stuff like the beatles, elvis, and pink floyd), public transport, etc. (basically all of the cool things))
-him constantly wanting to be around you because he missed so much of your childhood while he was in azkaban
-you being totally okay with it and having conversations with him all the time
-him being jealous of your hair
-whenever that painting of sirius’s mom starts screaming, somewhere in the middle of her ranting her voice gets all soft and she says “Hello, Y/N, sweetheart, you’ve grown since I last saw!”
-you being sixever embarrassed because of it
-during the summer of OOTP you would sneak him out while in his animagus form and pretend to be walking your dog
-him appreciating it more than anything
-mrs. Weasley being totally surprised that he’s your dad because of your kind heart and (somewhat) good manners
-you wanting to be a healer because you hated seeing your father in his azkaban condition, and all you wanted to do was help him get better
-dumbledore, mcgonagall, luna and somehow snape being the only people that know about your dad being who he is (obviously until OOTP because that’s when everybody else finds out)
-snape holding a grudge against you, but not wanting to because you’re actually pretty decent at potions (after all, it’s the main part of being a healer)
-you being a year ahead of the trio
-you sneaking out to the shrieking shack during POA and visiting him
-the both of you being the number one shippers of remus and tonks
-your patronus being an irish wolfhound (i think that’s the breed of his animagus but i’m probably wrong but shhh)
-him teasing you about it
-calling remus ‘uncle remus’
-you grieving over his death the most, and getting super mad at harry because he acted like he was the only one going through pain (jesus christ remus was his best friend omfg)
(this is probably really bad I’m not gonna lie)

Castiel The Babysitter
Prompt: “How could you forget your son’s birthday?” “Have I mentioned, I fucking hate Halloween.” You got this babes 💕
Synopsis: After arriving in a small town for a hunt Cas, Sam and Dean meet a young woman named Ava and her little sister Lily. Castiel find himself agreeing to babysit.
Pairing: none.
Characters: Castiel, Dean, Sam, Ava (OFC), Lily (OFC)
Word Count: 2655
Warnings: swearing and I suck at dialogue sorry
A/N: so this was requested by my abosloute fave @illbeyourgentlemanstory! Sorry I took so long I swear I write like four different versions and I ended up scrapping the Charlie idea but I'm gonna write another Fic for that idea. I hope you like it and that it isn't too bad! Also I replaced "son” with “daughter”
Being human was an odd sensation, a sensation Castiel certainly wasn't used to. It hadn't been long since he was stripped off his angel grace and he still found himself slipping into old habits of that an angel. In fact, he found being a human somewhat exhausting. There were so many feelings a human experienced during a day and he found it strange getting used to fatigue, hunger and his bladder. His bladder had caused a few incidents that neither Cas nor the Winchesters wanted to talk about. Despite being a relatively good hunter, Cas still struggled without his angelic powers and there had been a few occasions which almost got him severely injured. This had been enough for Dean to go into “overprotective mode” and keep Cas away from doing any actual hunting despite Cas’ protests that he was fine, leaving him to only help with research and the knowledge he already had.
It was Halloween and Cas’ and the Winchesters had been drawn to a rather gruesome case in a small town. This small town seemed accustomed to Halloween traditions and celebrations, with townsfolk taking it seriously and as expected that had drawn a monster murdering victims, particularly this time of year due to more people being around. A pure blood werewolf to be exact. What the men hadn't expected however, was to team up with a young woman named Ava who insisted on helping them. She was pretty familiar with monster-hunting and had a bit of knowledge on the supernatural but she didn't hunt herself due to being a full-time carer to her 7 year old (half) sister Lily.
“So I've managed to get up the locate this Jonathan Crawl guy. We should be all set.” Sam announced referring to the werewolf they were hunting.
He was sitting at the table with laptop in Ava’s living room, Dean was getting ready to leave whilst Ava and Cas sat on the couch Lily sandwiched between them peacefully watching TV.
“It's always the werewolves with the douchey names.” Dean mumbled “Uh guys, there's one small problem.” Ava said looking up at the boys. All three of them, including Cas looked at her questionly. “Who's gonna watch Lily? I can't exactly take her with us and as much as I hate not being with her I really think I should help out, I know this town like the back of my hand and I know Jonathon too. I can help trap him.”
None of them could argue. She had a point.
Cas in particular thought about what she said. Although it hadn't been said he knew Dean would be reluctant to let him help much on the case with Sam following his brother’s orders although a lot more lieniuetat. And as much as Dean’s stubbornness annoyed him he knew he had a good point (plus Cas knew Dean meant well, the older Winchester had a habit of caring too much and being overprotective). With Cas mojo gone he had to rely on basic human extinct and weapons. He was still pretty inexperienced and hadn't proven much help so far although he was improving. Being human had really taken its toll on him. He decided it would be best if he stayed back and watched Lily. Shyly Cas raised his hand (he had seen someone do it on a TV show once).
“I suppose I could stay back and watch Lily.” Cas offered. “You sure Cas?” Sam asked, a little uncertain. “Certain. Besides, I don't think I can be of much help. I'm still not quite as skilled at hunting yet and it would do me good to...adjust.” Cas replied smiling a little. Dean cocked his head slightly as if to consider, which Cas found a little odd seeing as it should be Ava’s decision and he felt more like Dean’s son than anything. Ava on the other hand look relieved and thankful.
“Castiel! Thank you so much! I hope it's not a problem! Are you sure?” She said gratefully. Cas nodded and Ava’s smile grew again. “Lily make sure you're good for Castiel okay?” Ava said getting off the couch and crouching in front of her sister, lightly stroking her hair. Lily nodded before placing her thumb in her mouth. A habit she was too old for but Ava let her own personal comfort. Lily’s had to deal with absentee mother and deadbeat dad. “How could you forget your own daughter’s birthday?” Ava said to Cas and the boys when she told them about her and Lily’s troubled life. They had the same mother but she was out of the picture and had different fathers both as bad as each other by the sounds of it. Apparently it had been Lily’s birthday the week before the boys rolled into town and although she was promised an exciting gift from her dad he was a no show except a text to Ava two days later reading “Srry I 4got Lily’s B-day. hope she had a gr8 1.”
“Cas’ll be fine. Won't you buddy? Just try not to burn the place down.” Dean said clapping a hand on his shoulder, now seeming positive about the situation. “Don't worry Lily you're in good hands.” He said softly now crouching in front of Lily. “although Cas can be a bit you know.” Dean crossed his eyes and swirled his index finger around his temple causing Lily to giggled. Cas frowned but couldn't find it in him to be annoyed with Dean. There was something endearing about the way he interacted with children. Cas was positive that Dean would have made the best babysitter but he knew all too week the Older Winchester would prefer to be hunting, over worrying about both Cas and Sam’s capabilities despite them being just as skilled as him. Dean reached his fist out toward Lily who connected her own in a fist bump before standing up and turning toward Sam and Ava who were both smiling.
“Okay let's gank this son of a bitch.” He said before turning to leave, Ava and Sam following.
The door closed and all that could be heard in the apartment was the noise from TV and Lily quietly humming along to the show’s theme tune. Cas turned his focus towards the TV and tried to make sense of the show. He deduced it was about a young girl with a talking monkey - why the monkey could speak he didn't understand. Oh, and her map and backpack could not only speak but sing! Cas was growing more perplexed by the second and he squinted at the screen curiously as the cartoon girl and her anthropomorphic monkey friend encouraged the audience to tell her where an apple tree was located (which was clearly right next to her, Castiel couldn't understand why she wouldn't just look in that direction).
“You're supposed to tell her where it is!” Lily said cheerfully breaking the silence between them. “Like this: over there Dora!” She cupped her small hands around her mouth and continued to shout “Over there Dora!”. Unsure on what else to do, Cas copied Lily and shouted too. He had to admit he felt a little bit of satisfaction when the cartoon girl - Dora - told them “good job!”. For the rest of the show Lily had managed to convince Cas to join in with the songs and shouting at the TV. Once the show ended she couldn't stop laughing .
“That was fun!” She giggled swinging her legs. “I have to agree. That was enjoyable.” He replied smiling. Then he felt a strong rumble in his stomach accompanied by a large noise. Hunger, he identified and sighed to himself. He didn't realised Lily heard until she started giggling again. “Are you hungry, Ca-Cas-Castiel?” She asked, trying to remember his name. “I think I am.” “I'm hungry too. Can you make me some potato animal shapes pretty please?” She asked with such childlike innocence that Cas couldn't say no despite being uncertain on how to cook these so called “potato animal shapes”.
He nodded and Lily hissed out a “yesssss” before running into the kitchen. He followed and saw Lily struggling to take out the packet so he reached down and picked up the colourful packet displaying a wacky away of cartoon animals looking rather happy. He turned the packet around and stared at the intsructions, frowning as he tried to make sense of it all.
“You're s’pose to put them in the microwave.” Lily said pointing to the microwave on the counter, as though sensing his confusion. Castiel nodded as he followed to where she was pointing. She opened up the cupboards and took out a plate carefully placing it on the counter with two hands. Cas opened up the packet and let Lily pick the animal shapes she wanted.
“This one is a dinosaur! And this one is a bird!” She babbled holding up the shapes before putting them on the plate. Castiel decided to join in but he found he couldn't really tell what animals the shapes were supposed to be.
“Is this one a...cat?” He asked, more to himself, holding one of the shapes up.
“No silly! That's a dog!” Lily said giggling and taking the shape out of his hand and placing it on the plate. Once it was all filled she walked through how to put it in the microwave and turning the it on. If she found it strange teaching Cas who was technically a grown up how to cook she didn't show it. In fact she seemed perfectly content with instructing Cas and dragged a stool and stood on it, placing both arms on the counter and resting her chin there watching the plate turn around slowly. Soon the microwave dinged and Cas opened it up however he didn't anticipate on the plate being hot. He immediately felt the pain as he grabbed it to take it out. Lily looked conecerned as he flinched his hand back.
“Ava says you're s’posed to use oven gloves. It's okay Castiel just put it under cold water and it should get better.” She said taking Cas’ hand and leading him over to the sink.
"Thank you Lily.” Cas said gratefully as he turned on the tap.
“It's okay Castiel. Accidents happen. Ava usually leaves it there for two minutes! Which is one hundred and twenty! I’ll count!” She babbled and began counting under her breath. She got about 60 seconds and Cas could feel his hand going numb. He went to move away his hand.
“No! I'm not finished yet!” Lily shrieked followed by a small giggled. She finally reached 120 seconds and Cas was grateful to remove his hand. He turned off the tap and held his hand to his chest, hopping the discomfort would dissappear soon. He looked toward lily who seemed to be kissing her hand. He frowned in confusion. Lily then placed the hand she kissed on the Cas burned hand.
“Ava always says a kiss makes everything better!” She said smiling. Cas couldn't help but smile back before grabbing the plate and taking it into the living room with Lily at his heels.
Lily was more than happy to share her food.
“This is really good.” Cas said as he took a bite from his third animal shape,
“They are my favourite food in the whole world! But Ava won't let me have them all the time. She makes me eat carrots, I hate carrots. I hate all vegetables.” She said pulling a face. They finished up the food, which Cas really enjoyed and Lily instead they do some drawing and colouring. She grabbed her colouring pencils, colouring book as well as some plain paper and set them out on the table. Castiel took a seat opposite her and sat quietly unsure on what to do.
“You can colour in my book! I bet your colouring will be really, really good!” She said excitedly pushing the colouring book towards Castiel and some pens. She then started drawing in a blank piece of paper. Cas opened up the book on a line drawing of a boat on the sea. Truth be told he wasn't too sure how to colour in properly. However once he looked at the way lily used her pens he figured it couldn't be too hard. He grabbed some random colours and began to fill it in. They sat for about ten minutes until Lily broke the silence.
“At school for our homework we have to write what we want to be when we grow up.” Lily said although still concentrating in her drawing.
“And what do you want to be when you're older?” Cas asked softly.
“I dunno. Maybe saving people. Like a superhero or something. The teachers said I could be a nurse or maybe a policewoman. Are you really an angel Castiel?” Lily asked. The question took Cas by surprised and he wasn't sure how to answer. “I know I shouldn't of been listening but I heard Dean tell Ava you were an angel. Do angels really save people?”
“"Uh...” Castiel began. He was considering denying it but Lily was filled with such innocence and sweetness he didn't have the heart not too. “"I was an angel. I'm not an angel anymore. And yes angels do save people.” He replied. Lily nodded.
“You're not an angel anymore?”
“No. Something happened however I do still save people.”
“I think you make a good angel.” She said. “Do you have wings?”
“I do. Well, I did. But normal humans can't see them. If so you may disintergrate.” Cas said matter-of-factly. He still had a hard time socialising like a normal person and he winced a little once he realised how straight to the point his words were, worried he scared her.
“Awesome!” lily said enthusiastically, looking up from drawing to give Cas a big smile.
“Castiel sounds like an angel name. It's a really cool name I like it!”
“But it's not as cool as the name Lily.” Cas said, impressed at his own words. Lily just smiled and started humming. They sat colouring and drawing for another half an hour and the apartment door swung open and in cam Ava followed by a bruised up Sam and Dean.
“Ava!” Lily said shrieking running over to her older sister. Ava smiled and picked her up.
“Did you get Jonathon Crawl? Are you guys okay?” Cas said immediately walking over to them.
“Peachy. Have I mentioned I fucking hate Halloween.” Dean mumbled.
“Language.” Ava chided. Cas saw a number of Halloween stickers and silly strung stuck to Dean’s jacket and figured that the reason for his announcement.
“Yeah we got him Cas and we're all okay.” Sam said smiling. Cas couldn't help but let out a breath of relief.
“So did you have a good time? Was you good for Castiel?” Ava asked Lily. Lily nodded excitedly.
“Uh-huh! We had a great time didn't we Castiel!” Lily said.
“Yes we did” Cas said smiling.
“We ate the potatoe animal shapes and did some colouring!” She said. She then squirmed in Ava’s grasp in an attempt to get down. Once she let go she ran over to the table and grabbed her drawing she The walked over to Cas and handed it to him.
“Here you go Castiel! This is for you!” She said cheerfully. Castiel took the drawing and smiled once he saw to smily figures. One resembling Ava with hair in two pigtails and and another with what looked like angel wings. Accompanied with a bright blue sky, sun, birds, grass and trees.
“Well look at you Cas. Looks like your Mary Poppins now.” Dean said grinning.
“I know what I want to be when I grow up!” Lily said to Ava cheerfully.
“And what might that be?” Ava asked smiling. Lily looked towards Castiel and smiled.
“An angel.”
