(Lou Jitsu and Dareth Ninjago just in case anyone is confused)
ID under the cut
[ID: A digital drawing of Lou Jitsu from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a younger version of Dareth from Ninjago. The two men are in the dressing room for a film set, being lit by the large bulbs displayed around the mirror. Lou Jitsu is sitting in the make-up chair with a thin light blue robe on. It is hanging off his right shoulder, showing off half his chest. Dareth is leaning over him, one arm propped on the chair, looking surprised. Lou Jitsu is holding onto Dareth's collar, pulling him closer. His eyes are fixed on Dareth's chest.]

I’m being so ffr rn, if the show runners definitively show that Buddie is not going to happen?
I’m probably not going to be watching anymore.
I mean it when I say that they’re literally the sole reason I watched this show in the first place. I saw a billion TikTok edits of them & was like “Idek these characters I need to watch this show and see what’s going on over there.”
And like, it’s a fun show, I’m not saying it isn’t, but first responder shows are a dime a dozen. There are other shows that have queer characters and found family and wild adventures. Granted, they don’t have Buck & his bi arc, but I’d still read fanfics to get my Evan Buckley fix lol.
I don’t need them right now, I’m so down for the slow burn, will-they-won’t-they & the pining & the yearning & the build up and the GOOD foundation. I want to see Eddie figuring himself out and dealing with his repression and figuring out he’s queer (& Demi, pls God. I hope if I just say it enough, I can will it into existence somehow) before anything happens with the two of them, but if they take definitive steps to have one of them like, marry someone else or something, I think I’m gonna head out. Find me on ao3 for the rest of my days lol.

Transcript:
Bruno: What would you do?
Oscar: Don’t ask her! She’s more impulsive than all of us combined.
Courtney: [laughs] I would’ve said yes there and then.
Bruno: Psh, I’m surrounded by reckless extroverts.
Ivan: How is it reckless though?
Bruno: It’s a pretty big deal.
Oscar: Only if you make it so.
Ivan: It ain’t like we can have biological kids, is it? They’re handin’ you the next best thing n’ you’re gonna say no?
Bruno: You know it wouldn’t be our baby, right?
Ivan: I know, but it’d still be your flesh n’ blood; n’ don’t forget, they said y’could be involved if y’wanted.
Oscar: You wouldn’t have brought it up again if you weren’t tempted.
[Bruno rolls his eyes, wishing he hadn’t said anything]
Oscar: Look at that lil’ face n’ tell me you don’t want one.
Bruno: That’s not the point.
Courtney: What’re you scared of?
Ivan: He still reckons he’s gonna end up in the slammer.
Bruno: Well, I don’t wanna cause them any grief.
Oscar: I doubt you’d have to worry about that, you wouldn’t be a legal parent-.. unless they made you one.
Bruno: I’d make sure they didn’t.
Courtney: Ah, that means you’ve thought about it.
Ivan: I still reckon y’should talk t’the feds, it’d be a weight off y’shoulders.
Bruno: [sighs] Unlikely.
Courtney: You knew more about what went on than these two ever did, maybe you should tell them.
Oscar: How much do you know?
Bruno: Not much more than you lot…
Oscar: Hm.
Ivan: It’s not like y’gotta bring up anythin’ else.
Courtney: I think you’d know by now if they were after you personally, helping them could put your mind at ease?
Ivan: That’s what-…
Bruno: I’ll think about it, okay? Fucking hell.
…
Bruno: If you’re gonna try and convince-…
Oscar: I’m not.
Bruno: I know I ought to help, but it shouldn’t be up to us.
Oscar: If you told me, I could pass it on?
Bruno: No, you have a family.
Oscar: Ivan would-…
Bruno: I’ll do it myself.
Oscar: Maybe you oughta find a lawyer.
Bruno: [sighs] A lawyer would tell me to keep my mouth shut.

Hi.
I am watching the show again for ROTTMNT because I really need to to know how they interact.
I didn't realize this, but when Leo is trying to prove something, sometimes he will frame something like a question when he disagrees. With something someone said.
Also, Leo is more of funny. Right now I am on season 1 episode 9a.
Also, something I realized so far in the show is that they tend to focus on Donnie and Mikey’s relationship or Raph and Leo’s relationship. At least when it comes to individual pairings.
Which I can of find funny because in the fandom I mainly find “Donatello & Leonardo” the most. But I mainly think it is because they kind off have similar struggles. Not the same but similar. Mostly for like the self worth portions. I really like the dynamic between Donnie and Leo.
Also, in my watch of one episode, Raph said this
“- Raph “I think someone is in trouble. Is it us? Are you from the future?”” Raph is referring to Mayhem in that Hypno Leo and Raph episode.
That line hits differently now after knowing what happens in the movie
Donnie-Mikey and Raph-Leo are the classics in most TMNT iterations. I feel like it was kind of unnecessary here, because the main conflict between Raph and Leo has universally been 'Raph is mad that Leo is in charge of him,' and not only is it not applicable because Raph is in charge but Leo has absolutely no problem with that. He doesn't want to be the leader. And then Donnie and Mikey get thrown together because they're the other two and provide the B-plot as a background to Leo and Raph's shenanigans. In Rise, there were a lot of Donnie solo episodes, and a lot of episodes that seemed like they were supposed to be all-brother episodes but became Leo episodes.
The writers said that they wanted to do more episodes just featuring two brothers, mainly with Donnie-Raph and Mikey-Raph. But of course Nick had to ruin everything that was beautiful.
The reason there are no dedicated Disaster Twin episodes is because it would end with them hiding a body. Probably while dressed as old ladies.

yeah he glibly obfuscated about the possible destruction of the one artifact in the world that could give her some answers as to the nature of her existence and the reason for her suffering. made light out of her desire to obtain the thing which represents a personal magical potency equal to that he received from the stepmother, all the while planning to keep it from her, which he was not subtle about hiding. but have you considered hes neurodivergent and a minor

for some reason it just occurred to me to draw a somewhat tenuous parallel between lou reed/john cale and tom verlaine/richard hell in the sense that both cale and hell were forced out of their respective bands by their primary creative partner/best friend who then went on to become extremely lauded to the point that these two guys were both rendered as footnotes in the first chapters of reed's and verlaine's illustrious careers. so they were left behind then and then once again because reed and verlaine both died while cale and hell are still alive. to outlive the person who cast you out but who was nevertheless the foundation for everything in your life that came after...how do you live with that...well anyway i thought about it and now my night and possibly the rest of my week is ruined

i keep thnking about like. the parallels between buck and the ghosts in the movie. Johnnie and Buck have the whole "opposites attract" while being eerily similar. A dead man in love with life and a living man in love with death. Coming across each other by complete chance (stars align type chance, pun not intended) and it's so brief but so important to the both of them. They've both already experienced their fair share of the unnatural and the undead so the situation is almost casual to them. Both are lost in these naive ideas of how the world works and are so headstrong they don't stop until it literally kills them. both end up getting blackbrained because of those ideas. Even if buck survived and Johnnie didn't, they're dead men walking.
and then there's Frankie and Buck's love for a person that doesn't love them back. being devoted to the point of self-destruction, even if they're aware of it and know it's going to end badly they still keep going. Frankie's already been down this path and she tries to get Buck off of it but she already knows its pointless. Frankie's constant use of ghost metaphors in her songs with Buck's ability(?) to speak to the dead. the night we met being Frankie's song but the MV is about Buck. they're both doomed by the narrative and doomed themselves, and knowing this changes nothing. god.
