Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
my father is a dying man. dying, meaning, helpless. man, meaning, violent. and what do you do with a helpless violence except fetch it its glasses?

Part One of Three Sources Below Cut:
BBH Doodle by @starscollide0 Inktober Day 04 by @jmfenner91 (Patreon) Spin Cycle by @dsamuelsonart (Website) Fear No Evil by Superphazed posted by @ex0skeletal-undead teef by me Close-ups by @wipormont (Inprnt) chaw var by @sloppjockey (Etsy) Insomnia by Vincenzo Lamolinara posted by @ex0skeletal-undead pov: you're about to be eaten by your revived self by @otterward Parca XXXV by Álvaro Fernández González posted by @ex0skeletal-undead Untitled by Sebastian Smarowski posted by @ex0skeletal-undead bruh, just give him back his kids by @winter-mornings (Redbubble) skins posted by @bigboobyhalo you know how it is with spaghetti by @whydoihavetoart Untitled Painting by A Bearded Artist posed by @ex0skeletal-undead
I was unable to find the source for the fanart of Badboyhalo with a halo and a blue flower in his hair. I lost where I had the source saved somewhere in-between drafts. I have looked far and wide for a couple of weeks now, but odds are it's easily findable and I am just stupid. If you know or are the artist of the fanart please feel free to message or reply to this and I will give you/them credit.
I just found this really, really old picture of you posted by @sainthel Edge of Darkness by Ben J posted by @ex0skeletal-undead Untitled by @snopiah you can't make homes out of human beings by Warsan Shire posted by @blocky-tides I take out my throat / but the grief remains by Alessandra Lynch posted by @lifeinpoetry reblogged by pocketevil (...No, I don't know why I saved the post like this. Honestly, I don't even know how I saved it like it is.) Hunter's Poem written by Hunter Hancock posted by @situationlately You forgot something by @syn4k Think of me as a guide by Margaret Atwood posted by @quotespile
Notes: If I fucked up the credits lmk. There is no brain in my brain. It's Halloween. Odds are high.
((Also, lowkey there are two more webweaves for this exchange that are done. I just need to collect the credits for them. Watcher Grian Webweave 1 and 2 already exist I just need to have a minute to organize and post them.))
Why do I @ the creators? I think creators might like directly knowing where and when their works are transformed, if only because it's really cool to know someone liked your art that much. It also gives the creators an easy way to ask that I remove the art since they are directly notified. If you are a creator and for any reason want your picture or your @ removed, please send me an ask or message, and I'll try to respond in a timely manner.

tagged by @petesdragon to do my '6 favorite books of 2023,' but since it's Me, with more book recs than i know what to do with, i've switched it up a bit. these 6 books are favorites that have somehow gone unmentioned in my quarterly book rec posts from this year (1/2/3/4).
in selecting these, I prioritized (but didn't exclusively pick) books that i also feel haven't gotten sufficient acclaim/recognition in general. imo they're amazing reads, as my linked reviews suggest, but for some reason or another (in the case of perdido street station, this was legit an accident/oversight on my part lmao) didn't end up among my 36 total favorites.
the books:
Poupeh Missaghi, trans(re)lating house one
China Miéville, Perdido Street Station
Jamie Loftus, Raw Dog: The Naked Truth About Hot Dogs
McKenzie Wark, Reverse Cowgirl
Gloria Susana Esquivel, tr. Robin Meyers, Animals at the End of the World
Emma Donoghue, Slammerkin
tagging some people below - because of this spin i put on the tag (which you're free to follow or ignore) i'm tagging ppl i know Do Book Things and may have extras to share, but everyone is welcome to do this tag and share it with me!!

It is August: the true ending of a year. I’ve grown sick from trying to love who I am.
Carlie Hoffman, from “High Bridge Park,” published in Gulf Stream (via lifeinpoetry) Change August to October and watch me die trying to explain how this is Yuuji.
This is Yuuji walking around the ruins of Shibuya after the singularly worst night of his life, with an older brother he just found that tried to kill him but would now die for him;
trying to reconcile everything he has lost and become with the fact that there are so many people that love him and he doesn't deserve it

‘y’all just have to read those posts’ i did a lot major with a concentration in poetry and have been so burnt out by the day job that i haven’t picked up a poetry collection in literal years. your fragments are the closest i get and i cherish them
I’ve been there!! I barely touched any books while in college & I had no time when I did my masters + teaching burnt me out so much!! I used to obsessively look through lifeinpoetry for quotes that touched me & it makes me so glad that what I post is helping you in a similar way!! Thank you so much!! It means a lot to me ❤️
#that burnout is SO REAL and it took me a while to get back to a place where it wasn’t a struggle to read#only in the last couple years have I been reading normally#im hoping you get to a place where you’re allowed to rest and can start enjoying reading poetry again ❤️
