Alright, here’s the rundown.

So, for me, I’d like to outline or summarize my Fanfic for those who found my last post and liked the concept. Or if this happens to worm its way onto your feed; Hi hello! I’m writing a Shadamy Fic, it might be shit, it might be self-indulgent, and it might not the best, but damn it I love them and I need to write about them. I have my friend as an editor and currently have more than 20-thousand ish words, of it written, but won’t be releasing it until at least half of it is finished.

The plot:

During a time of relative peace, Amy Rose asked the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog out on a date. And as usual, he stood her up. Not out of malice, but it still cut deep. While sitting alone, a bouquet of flowers by her side, Shadow stumbles into her, and they talk.

This story takes place from early June into late September (maybe even reaching into the colder autumn months, but I’m not sure how much I can write without it getting tired) And will cover the exploration of Amy, Shadow, and Sonic as they adjust to their new normal.

Not gonna give too much of it away now, but hella cute scenes.

I want to be fully transparent, so I’ll jump through the major ones here.

Other than Shadamy (duh) we have Knuxouge, Vectilla, and I’m debating between Silvase and Espilver right now. If there are any others I end up mentioning or adding in, I’ll make sure to tag them when I release the full thing.

For the sexuality end, in this fic there’s really only one that needs explicit mentioning and that’s Sonic being aro/ace. This is just a personal head canon, and if you don’t agree don’t worry, I won’t judge.

I took liberties with the ages of the characters, based on how I perceive them.

Sonic and Shadow: both are 19 turning 20. Since their birthdays are both covered (literally like 4 days apart) so by the time the story is in full unapologetic swing, the two are twenty.

Knuckles: 21/22 I always thought he was a bit older, but not by a large margin.

Amy: 18 turning 19, we see her birthday as well, I swear the birthdays are important events, I used them for growth and because major plot lines happen then anyway so why not?

Tails/Miles: I made him 14, I saw tails as being years younger than sonic, I thought the two were 16/17 and 10/11 (maybe even 12?) in the games, so I kept a gap between the two.

Rouge: 22 it just makes sense.

Cream: she’s 8, I can’t even explain it, she reads as a third grader to me.

Vanilla: early thirties, no specific age.

Vector: very late twenties, early thirties, no specific age.

I won’t go through everyone here, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

How slow is this slow burn?

Let’s just say the feelings have existed for a couple years at this point, they’re only starting to realize and Amy is in full denial mode. If you like slow burns and temporarily unrequited love, you might enjoy it.

When will you release the first chapter?

Probably not for a while, but I just had to yap about it.

Seeker (2023) is Carbon Based Lifeforms’ most melody-driven and dynamic album to date. Which is interesting, because ambient isn’t exactly known for either of those qualities. But it works, because, well, it’s Carbon Based Lifeforms and I’d die of shock if they ever released something I didn’t love.

Why I Think Stone Should Be Shadow's Human Buddy:

- Both processing their grief.

- Shadow gets someone who's used to dealing with overdramatic rage and not talking about feelings.

- Shadow wakes up in a panic after a nightmare and trashes his room? Stone replaces everything without complaint and adds a force field around his stuff so he doesn't break anything else at night. Shadow mentions he misses having a record player? Stone buys him a new one and throws in every album released 50 years ago just in case.

- Stone gets someone who genuinely appreciates his help and who would actually do nice things for him in return.

- Shadow insists on helping Stone cook. Shadow helps clean up his own messes. Shadow tries to listen to his advice.

- Riding motorcycles out in the wilds and then setting up a tent and stargazing together.

- Also they're just both kinda hecked-up little guys.

- Like both probably mad at GUN still but settle for clandestinely thwarting their plans undercover.

- Also Stone kinda wants to take over the world in Robotnik's name but also wants to protect the world he sacrificed himself to save but also is too nice to use Shadow as a tool.

- Somehow they end up settling on "take over the coffee industry by offering better job benefits and use sustainable business practices to help protect the environment"

- Shadow helps transport the beans to reduce fuel costs. He likes having a job that's not just "run around to generate energy and let scientists poke at you"

- GUN is appalled when they find out the ultimate lifeform is working at a coffee company. "You have the power to level or fuel entire cities and you're wasting it on coffee?!"

- "I like coffee." Shadow glares dramatically.

- Team Shadow fits into dynamic as well - Stone having access to Eggman tech could be how they find Omega, and he and Rogue would be very catty at each other.

- Stone asks Tom and Maddie for advice on living with an alien hedgehog. They start giving him parenting advice.

- "I'm not a parent" he says

- but then he sees Shadow in danger and the switch clicks to "crap in trying to cope with the loss of the man I loved I accidentally adopted an edgy teenager"

- Just let him join the family dynamic as the weird uncle who watches soap operas with Knuckles and Maddie and helps Tails test inventions and threatens GUN with an entire arsenal of Egg tech if they try to go after the silly little alien critters ever again.

Earth Music on the Lost Light: Human Music That Cybertronians Like

we know for a fact that the Lost Light has access to human media, primarily movies, TV shows, and music-- and we know they generally seem to fucking love most of it, or at least find it interesting

but what would everyone's tastes be, in regards to Earth music?

time to talk about music for a long time!!! strap in, enjoy some tunes

we already know Cyclonus has impeccable taste and enjoys some of the best jams the 80s had to offer.

I can't help but imagine Rodimus being given a media archive of Earth tunes to approve for the Earth Dance would only result in chaos

(it's not like he would say no to anything, he absolutely blanket signed it all, it's just an obligatory thing-- or Ultra Magnus tells him it is, solely to keep him away from Important Captain Things that he would rather handle himself or hand off to Megatron, lmao. the shit that really needs to get done)

and this is how Rodimus discovers the somewhat questionable yet amazing genre of "mid-90s underground techno rave mix tapes"

(somewhat related, I still think Testarossa might as well be Rodimus' theme song, although it's not a 90s track and has more of an 80s synth vibe)

Rodimus would love that "computers are the future, fuck yeah let's make Digital Cool Future Music" mid-90s shit, there is no way he would not. it has the exact energy level that appeals to him and is also cheesy and weird and chaotic. and has like 500 different sub-genres, so his selection is endless, lmao.

he would probably find it cute that this is what humans imagined to be the peak of "digital sound" at the time. like lmao this was the best humans could do when asked to create music that sounds like it was made by robots or other mechanical space future cyber lifeforms--high concept!!! he would probably find it interesting and endearing. this is what organics think non-organic music is like!!

anyone acting as DJ at Swerve's on any given night would be so, so mad that Rodimus keeps requesting shit like "DJ MASSIMO ITALO DISCO BEST RAVE TUNES LIVE FROM LONDON 1995" or "DJ ARMPIT SLUDGE FEST HOUSE-RAVE-DRUMS N BASS SET 1996" for them to play, lmao

not individual tracks. the whole album. entire mix tapes of random, somewhat questionable mid-90s techno house rave bullshit.

that having been said, that good ass early 90s trance techno might send him into a spiral depending on his mood at the time, lmao (it's been known to happen)

but at the same time I can imagine him sharing tracks like Solar Quest - Space Pirates with Drift and they'd both just sit there and jam out, but quietly, thinking about shit while sitting in a port window next to each other (this was peak sleepover party techno, Back in My Day-- many deep conversations were had while listening to stuff like this, lol)

Drift would probably find some of Rodmus' recommended stuff to be pretty good for meditation-- although once he finds out about the human drug culture involved and certain concepts of experimental consciousness etc. that surrounded techno/rave and other related genres, it might cause him to pull back a little bit

(until he finds out about kandi culture, in which case, Drift would love the idea of hand-made unique bracelets and sentimental trinkets being made and exchanged at warehouse shows purely out of Good Vibes and Love for Fellow Beings and it turns out actually he fucking loves this shit, a chill vibes based "expand your mind" kind of music subculture appeals to his Spectralist sensibilities and he likes sharing tunes with Rodimus in return)

Drift picking tracks on his own would likely lead him down more of a classic rock road, but more of the chill side of things, more of the folksy type of classic rock -- I can see Drift really enjoying Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum or California Dreamin' - The Mamas and the Papas. or like, Incense and Peppermints - Strawberry Alarm Clock.

I mean, Drift might even go Full Earth Hippie and end up liking Green Tambourine - Lemon Pipers, lmao. in fact I am fairly certain of this.

I can see Drift loving Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In - The 5th Dimension. the whole vibe would probably appeal to him.

he'd quite possibly also like I Need a Dollar - Aloe Blacc, but it hits him in a place that still hurts to think about. so it's in rare rotation.

meanwhile Ratchet would probably be fine with classic rock too, like the good Dad Rock shit, just a lot of tracks from the 70s/80s -- a couple tracks he and Drift could probably agree on would likely lean more into the experimental/psychedelic rock side of things, like White Room - Cream or something like Wheel in the Sky - Journey

Rodimus tries to troll Ratchet by recommending Old Time Rock n Roll - Bob Seger, but joke's on him because it turns out Ratchet loves it, lmao

Swerve would go all out on classic bar jams for the evening playlist. Chill, good shit like Do It Again - Steely Dan.

Megatron would love Sinnerman - Nina Simone; He'd send it to Drift in a command crew level secured data packet, and they would both feel the hell out of this song. They don't need to talk about why. They never mention it to each other.

Megs would also probably love These Old Bones by Dolly Parton (mostly due to the lyrics, rather than the upbeat tune, but he would find it relatively relaxing), as well as 9 to 5 (of course), and similar music. Country from back in the day when country music was more about the struggle of poverty and the working life of rural people. Country music from back when songs told all the untold stories. He can respect that.

He'd listen to You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive by Patty Loveless and it would get him right in the fucking spark. Megatron is the Cybertronian equivalent of an Appalachian miner, god dammit. He understands.

Megatron would also like Johnny Cash; He would overthink Ghost Riders in the Sky and it would depress him, partly because it reminds him of Seekers... sigh.

I think he'd also like Cold War - Janelle Monae. He'd be way into good lyrics; What's being said in a song matters most to him. "This is a cold war, you better know what you're fighting for..." Indeed.

Shadow the Hedgehog

Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform. Created to unlock the secret of immortality, then twisted into a weapon by manipulator after manipulator. He spent years finding himself, figuring out what he wanted his purpose to be. He took on the role of Mobius’s protector, first out of a sense of obligation from his promise to Maria, then out of his own desire to protect others. After losing the one person he was truly close to, he became especially protective of all he let into his heart, whether that be the world itself, his closest friends, his husband, or, most of all, his children. Silkie and Lapis are the most important things in existence to him; he would go to the ends of the earth to keep them safe.

When he’s not actively working to protect the world and all his loved ones, though, he’s learned to live a relatively normal life—as normal a life as someone like him can have, at least. He spends his free time working on the Dark Rider, bonding with his family, and listening to music. Partially thanks to Amy’s influence, his love of pop music has only grown over the years; the two of them go to concerts together regularly, and they always make sure to listen to new albums from their favorite artists together the moment they release.

Since Shadow long since quit his job at G.U.N. and Sonic’s “job” consists of running around picking up rings off the ground (which is surprisingly lucrative, actually), Shadow has had to find a new way to financially support his family. And while fighting off major threats lets him protect the world as a whole, he’s found that the best way for him to protect Mobius’s smaller inhabitants is through his new job as a veterinarian. The average Mobian can largely take care of themselves and reach their goals without his direct interference, but animals are much more vulnerable. He takes pride in being able to care for them, keeping them healthy and tending to their injuries. At the end of the work day, he can go home satisfied that he’s doing everything he can to fulfill his promise.

¤ Dante ¤

-Dante happened to be flipping through an old, partially burnt photo album, looking at faded pictures of Vergil and himself when they were babies.

-He then starts to tear up with emotion, seeing how cute the two of them were. He could only imagine the joy his parents must have felt whenever they saw their chubby bundles of joy.

-That's when he decides he wants a baby and goes straight to you to talk about it.

-You were a little surprised considering Dante had never even brought up the topic before, but after an hour or so of convincing, you agreed--Dante had spread the baby fever to you.

-Fast forward a month or so later and you're pregnant! You two are so excited, Dante in particular. He won't stop picking you up (gently, of course) and parading you around, screaming "I'M GONNA BE A DAD!" at the top of his lungs, laughing and whooping afterwards.

-He can't wait for his precious dumpling to get here already--they're gonna have so much fun together and make so many messes, you just know it.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil happened to be passing through a park when he caught sight of a young couple and their newborn baby sitting on a bench while an elderly couple (possibly the grandparents?) took pictures of them.

-Vergil at first thought very little of this; this was a park and things like photo ops were common in parks, but for some reason, he found himself staring at the baby.

-It was just. So. Cute. He'd never seen a lifeform with such innocence before in his life. He wanted one, right now!

-Of course, it was very difficult for him to admit this to you, being the cold and serious devil hunter he was. Eventually, he wrote a note instructing V to write some poetry about wanting a child, then split himself.

-Vergil later delivered the poem to you and stood there awkwardly while you read it. After mulling it over for a moment, you agreed, and as a reward you got to see the sweetest, brightest, most hope and happiness filled smile you'd ever seen.

-You two are going to be the happiest, most loving parents the world has ever seen. Vergil even vows to give his child all the care and affection, and of course, MOTIVATION in the world.

-Since Nero was always helping kids out at the orphanage, he knew all about babies and all the light they brought into their parents lives.

-He'd always wanted a baby of his own someday, but since he was young, didn't really give it much thought until one day he saw a happy family and their little baby in a stroller taking a walk down the street.

-Upon seeing how happy the family was, Nero felt his heart melt. This settles it, as soon as he got home, he would talk to you about starting a family.

-Nero was somewhat nervous bringing up the subject as he'd never even mentioned it to you before, but your quick acceptance and even eager agreement quickly assured him you had as much baby fever as he did.

-After you told him you were pregnant, Nero was all smiles and grins, prompting others to ask why he was always in high spirits. Nero, being proud as hell that he was gonna be a father soon, answered them eagerly.

-Nero swears to not be a deadbeat father like his own dad was, and to be there for his child whenever they need him.

● V ●

-V didn't really care about having offspring, and since you never brought it up, never gave it any thought.

-Then, as he limped down the street on his daily walk, V happened to pass a father holding his laughing baby daughter. V had to admit, the whole situation was very endearing....it sort of made him want to experience it for himself.

-Honestly, V wasn't too sure if he could have children, given his deteriorating state. He then decided to consult you on these matters as soon as he returned.

-You heard him out and to his surprise, readily agreed. Having a kid with the love of your life could be counter as your greatest and most fulfilling achievement in life.

-Even though V was no powerhouse, you guys managed to conceive, and spent the duration of the pregnancy planning for the baby's arrival and informing everyone you knew.

-V has already put together a simple book of nursery rhymes that he plans to read to your baby once it gets here.
