What about the things that don't require our hands? We've got some of those too.
The Other Stuff:

Impairment-matched exercise programming

These interventions include manual joint mobilizations, soft tissue mobilization, dry needling and/or cupping.
Once we maximize what is happening under the surface, we can progress to the bigger movements later in rehab.
We can usually do this in a home or a work setting and require minimal equipment. This allows us to maximize the pillar of convenience.
Individualized Treatment Plan & Programming:
Once we know that you can handle loading, we take key components of the manual interventions and match them with specific exercises that will bring you closer to your functional goals.
You’ll always find yourself informed and involved in the building of the treatment plan. And if you don’t understand something, you’ll have your providers number where you can text or call basically 24/7.
As we begin to load more and more, we may need to focus appointments at a location with weights. We will have quite a few options for you and remain flexible from session to session.
Performance & Wellness:
After the injury fades and you’re feeling 100%, you have the option to continue working with your provider to continue pushing towards your goals, if needed.
This can look different for different people. You might just need custom programming to ensure you are getting adequate load AND accessory work.
Or you might want recovery modalities such as cupping after a heavy training week. Whatever it is, you can choose to work with a familiar provider who knows your story, your journey and your passion.
This is how we can help you optimize your performance, your movement, and your life.

2020 NFL Mock Draft-FINAL
April 22, 2020
ROUND ONE
1. Cincinnati - QB Sam Burrow, LSU
They might as well start working on the contract now. It’s been a long time since we had a slam-dunk pick like this one. The team will need to focus on acquiring an offensive line to keep him from a David Carr-style early collapse though.
2. Washington – DE Chase Young, Ohio State
I’m still not 100% convinced the Redskins won’t trade this pick away, but if they hold on to it, they’d be ridiculous to pass on hometown guy Chase Young. He’d be an instant star in Washington, which is exactly what they need to start luring fans back into the stadium.
3. Miami (PROJ. TRADE W/DET) – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia
Tristan Wirfs and Mekhi Becton were the stars of the Combine, but that’s not what motivates front offices. They want someone who’s excelled on the field, over and over again. Wirfs certainly qualifies there, but Andrew Thomas has been a star at both right and left tackle practically since he first suited up for Georgia. Don’t be surprised if he’s the first tackle off the board this year. Miami gives up picks #5 and 18 to move up two spots).
4. NY Giants – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa
This could be an epic run on tackles starting here. Wirfs can excel at any spot on the offensive line, but the Giants may need his help at left tackle sooner than later.
5. Detroit (PROJ. TRADE W/MIA) – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn
Detroit could do any number of things with this pick, but I like the current rumor that they’re very intrigued by Derrick Brown. He’s one of my favorite players in this draft, and if you fall in love with a prospect, you take him and damn the criticism.
6. LA Chargers – QB Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama +
No one expects him to start immediately in LA, where Tyrod Taylor is well liked by the coaching staff. But like his tenure with the Browns, Taylor’s time in the starting role will be short lived. Tua can be brought along slowly as he adjusts to the pro game and heals from his hip injury.
7. Carolina – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio State
Carolina parted ways with James Bradberry, so they make up for his departure with Okudah, clearly the top CB available this year. If he lasts until pick #7, this will be a steal for the team.
8. Arizona – OT Jedrick Wills, Jr., Alabama
Kyler Murray is great at running for his life, but he shouldn’t have to. They did re-sign LT D.J. Humphries to a new deal – but only a one-year contract with RT Marcus Gilbert. They seem to have decided to part ways with free agents Jordan Mills and A.Q. Shipley. And in 2021, J.R. Sweezy’s contract expires too. Loading up on offensive linemen would be a good idea. Wills could either serve as a reserve swing tackle his first year, or they could move Gilbert to guard and insert Wills at right tackle.
9. Jacksonville – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson
Jacksonville needs help at multiple positions, so why not grab the best player available. Simmons might not fit the team’s most immediate needs, but he’s the sort of dynamic playmaker you rebuild your defense around. Whether he lines up at Will or safety, he’ll have an immediate impact with a clever defensive staff.
10. Cleveland – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville *
The Browns made a horrible mistake by ignoring their problems at offensive line in the 2019 off-season. They gambled and lost on left tackle bust Greg Robinson (who is currently in legal trouble for allegedly being in possession of a ridiculous amount of pot). Time to correct that mistake. Becton enters the NFL with questions about possible drug use, but that’s nothing new for the Browns.
11. NY Jets – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma
The Jets have been targeting left tackles since early in the pre-draft process, but they don’t pull the trigger on a trade up to acquire one of the blue-chip candidates. CeeDee Lamb ain’t a bad fall-back option though.
12. Las Vegas – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama
You need to be flashy if you want to stand out in Las Vegas. There is no player with better big-play potential this year than Ruggs. In a nod to former owner Al Davis, the team eschews the more polished route runner in his teammate Jerry Jeudy for the speediest player available at his position. Ruggs is more than just a fast receiver though; he’s got amazingly-reliable hands.
13. San Francisco (THRU IND) – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama
Losing Emmanuel Sanders hurts a little bit, but the pain recedes when Jerry Jeudy comes to town. Perhaps the best pure receiver in the draft, and he lands with the NFC Champions.
14. Atlanta (PROJ. TRADE W/TB) – CB C.J. Henderson, Florida
The Falcons move up two spots to snag Henderson away from Denver (they sacrifice pick #95 in the 3rd round to move up). They’ve coveted both Henderson and Jeff Okudah for a while now, and while they don’t possess the ammo to get up for Okudah, they pounce when they see Henderson drop this far.
15. Denver – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma
The Broncos very much wanted to land one of the top cornerbacks, but Atlanta snaked the last one away. Kenneth Murray is a player coaches can easily fall in love with though. He’s brilliant on the field but he’s even more valuable as a motivational team member. He’s got leadership skills like Jamal Adams and he seems destined to be a great coach someday.
16. Tampa Bay (PROJ. TRADE W/ATL) – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina
With Tampa spending their free agency dollars on offensive players, they need to focus most of their attention in the draft on that horrid defense. Kinlaw can provide a serious push from the inside to help out the edge players, and he’s got some run-stopping talents to boot.
17. Dallas – CB A.J. Terrell, Clemson
The Cowboys got hit hard by free agency this year, and 2021 won’t be much easier. They need youth at multiple positions. Start with trying to replace Byron Jones in the defensive backfield. Terrell has great length, speed and experience at a winning program.
18. Detroit (PROJ. TRADE W/ MIA THRU PIT) – DE/LB K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU
The Lions continue to rebuild their defensive line with an outside pass-rush threat to complement the interior push provided by Derrick Brown. Chaisson on one side and Trey Flowers on the other could be a disruptive force.
19. Las Vegas (THRU CHI) – LB Patrick Queen, LSU
The Raiders go offense with their first pick; now, the defense. Queen can man the weak side of the linebacking corps and pair with newcomer Cory Littleton to form a speedy, lithe combination.
20. Jacksonville (THRU LAR) – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU
The Jaguars have many needs, so they could go in any number of directions. Bolstering the receiving corps makes sense though. Jefferson paired with D.J. Chark could prove to be tough to defend.
21. Philadelphia - S Xavier McKinney, Alabama
The Eagles have many needs along the defensive backfield as free agency is hitting them hard this year and next. McKinney and Grant Delpit are far and away this year’s best safeties; either one could go here.
22. Minnesota (THRU BUF) – DE A.J. Epenesa, Iowa
Everson Griffen opted out of his current contract, and he’s now entering his 11th year in the league. There is no obvious starting talent on the roster to replace him. Even if the Vikings bring him back on a 1-year deal, having a developmental guy like Epenesa in a rotation behind him makes total sense.
23. New England - QB Justin Herbert, Oregon
Herbert is a reluctant passer, so I’m not 100% sure he’ll be a fit for Belichick, but the Pats have never been shy about gambling on draft picks. The Pats stick with Jarrett Stidham (at least for now) as the starter until they can assess Herbert’s ability to read a defense and deliver a ball with confidence and anticipation.
24. Indianapolis (PROJECTED TRADE W/NO) – QB Jordan Love, Utah State
Indy sees Herbert finally go off the board, and they can’t wait anymore to grab their favorite QB. They find a willing trade partner in New Orleans; they have the fewest picks in the draft this year, so they’re happy to trade out of the first and accumulate some extra selections (the Saints get Indy’s #34 and 75 picks). The Colts hope Love can develop behind Jacoby Brissett and Philip Rivers – both are only likely to stick around for one year.
25. Minnesota - WR Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State
The Vikings need to replace Stefon Diggs quickly if they want to take advantage of an AFC East without Tom Brady. Aiyuk can slide into the starting lineup immediately.
26. Miami (THRU HOU) - RB J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State
Jordan Howard is not a long-term option, and Kalen Ballage has fallen out of favor. The Dolphins want to bolster their backfield, and Dobbins is a darkhorse candidate to be the first RB off the board. Though he shouldn’t be. In hindsight, Dobbins will appear to be the obvious choice here.
27. Seattle - CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama
The Seahawks need to get back to their Legion of Doom ideals and draft big DBs again. At 6’1”, Diggs will hope to satisfy their craving for a Richard Sherman-type cover corner.
28. Baltimore - C Cesar Ruiz, Michigan
I love a good curveball. Ruiz displayed tremendous skills at the Combine and made a strong case that he’s the top pure interior lineman available this year. With the retirement of Marshal Yanda, there is a serious need along the offensive line.
29. Tennessee - CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah
With Logan Ryan in question and Malcom Butler wearing out his welcome, the Titans need to dip into the draft to solve their cornerback problems.
30. Green Bay - DT Ross Blacklock, TCU
The Packers have had serious problems stopping the run recently. Blacklock has an amazing motor and is highly prized among scouts.
31. LA Chargers (PROJ. TRADE W/SF) - RB D’Andre Swift, Georgia
The Chargers want to get ahead of Kansas City for their preferred replacement for Melvin Gordon (they give up pick #112 in the fourth round as well as #37).
32. Kansas City - RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
Kansas City needs more help along the defense obviously, but Taylor put to bed the notion that he has too much tread on his tires with an amazing Combine workout.

Should you be setting weight goals? 🤔 The past month I found myself obsessing about the number on the scale. I know it’s just data, but old programming usually surfaces when you keep doing the same behaviors you used to do in the past. I weighed myself every day to take an average for the end of the week. 💥I also took progress pictures and hip and waist measurements. But the scale was moving extremely slow. It wasn’t going as fast as I wanted it to. I was focusing too much on the # on the scale. Although, I have lost inches and my clothes was fitting way looser. But no, since I started obsessing, that didn’t matter. I was back to old Ruthie. My old behaviors started seeping through. That’s crazy because I know that weight will fluctuate like a motherfuuu. And when that happens, it’s hard to get yourself out of that state of mind if you don’t have that level of awareness. 💪🏽But I got myself out of that loop. I decided to not weight myself anymore for the time being. I’m not going to give in to my old behaviors. 💪🏽I even hired a fitness coach for myself @lauragfit that really helped me with that mindset. Now, I’m telling you this because you might not be there yet. ❌Are you setting weekly or monthly weight goals and when you don’t hit them you feel discouraged and anxious? ❌Are you doing challenges based on weight loss alone and now you find yourself over indulging because you feel like you have to keep cutting calories to lose weight faster? ❌Focusing on solely weight may not be for you if it brings feelings of pain: feeling discouraged, obsessing, stressing, overindulging... ✅If this is true for you, stop weighing yourself and focus on other measures of progress AND take it day by day. Consistency is key. Use progress pictures, measurements or simply how your clothes are feeling. Leaning out shouldn’t be painful especially if it’s what you want to keep for the rest of your life. ✔️Look it’s not easy to stop being the person you’ve always been. I get it. I still struggle with it. But I have my coaches, group of awesome women, and husband who set me back in place. Click the link in my bio, so we can chat about how to help you. Alright. This is for potential bodybuilding type competitors, and not regular personal training clients. I've been pissed off one too many times with some potential athletes and competitors that have asked me or have committed to and not followed through with wanting to do their programs. Very well. That's human nature, and that's fine. Because of that though, I'm bringing "The Test" back full force, for everybody. That is unless you have some sort of physical disability that doesn't allow you to do the movement. The thing is though, one of my best athletes to date passed the test with a titanium fused entire lumbar spine, so, I mean, come on. Shout out to @myrealizedpotential. Yes. The test involves deadlifts. The test involves actually a shit load of deadlifts. It is not just a physically taxing training session, but a mentally taxing training session. I'm an old Marine. I want to see what you're made of. What's in your heart, and if you REALLY want to accomplish your goal. Basically I'm throwing you a challenge and saying, "PROOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!" If you think that you're up for it, hit me up. If not, it's no skin off of me if you go with another coach or trainer. I wish you nothing but the best in your endeavors. Don't waste my time, and I promise to do my absolute best to work you into the best shape of your life. The latest San Jose State rebuild continues
Brent Brennan’s first season as the Spartans’ head coach saw a youth movement on offense. Now comes one on defense.
Right after he had left to take the Colorado head coaching job in early-2013, I spoke to former San Jose State head coach Mike MacIntyre for my first book, Study Hall. He had just pulled off a spectacular turnaround, inheriting a 2-10 squad from Dick Tomey, going 1-12 in his first season, and going 11-2 just two years later.
MacIntyre summed up everything that is both promising and difficult about the SJSU job. I realized there were only seven [FBS] schools in California,” he said. “I felt like the supply and demand of getting players was extremely good.”
On the other hand, this isn’t a school with a massive endowment or mountains of television revenue. “We didn’t have a lot of money,” he said. “We had to go raise money. The QB club raised us $25,000 so we could go recruit in May.”
When MacIntyre had the right mix of chip-on-shoulder kids and just enough financial commitment, the program took off, finishing 26th in S&P+ in 2012.
Within two years, they were 3-9 again. After eking out a bowl bid in 2015, they were 2-11 two years later. Such is life in San Jose.
Jack Elway went 9-3 with a California Bowl bid in 9-3. Two years later, he was 5-6.
Claude Gilbert took the Spartans from 2-8-1 in 1985 to 10-2 in both 1986 and 1987 ... and 4-8 in 1988.
Terry Shea went 9-2-1 in 1990, and within three years (and two coaching changes), the team went 2-9.
Dick Tomey went 9-4 in 2006 and 2-10 in 2009.
Making the upgrade to the Mountain West in 2013 has can only mean even higher highs and lower lows.
A SJSU roster tends to be a chemistry experiment of overlooked local prospects, high-upside athletes with red flags (either of the character or academic variety), and wayward JUCOs. When the chemistry is right, SJSU athletes can do serious damage. The Spartans have beaten Stanford 14 times, Arizona State 11 times, and Cal six times.
But it’s easy to get the chemistry wrong. Maybe the overlooked guys are overlooked for a reason. Maybe the red-flag guys never make it to campus.
This is a long way of saying Brennan’s first year didn’t go well, and that was understandable. His predecessor, Ron Caragher, signed an incredible top-60 class in 2015, but almost none of the top members of that class were still around two years later. He ended up gambling on youth in key positions — offensive coordinator and quarterback, to name two — and it didn’t even slightly pay off.
Worse, this wasn’t a total youth movement. SJSU had quite a few upperclassmen on the offensive line, linebacking corps, and secondary. Those units are facing a rebuild this year, and Brennan’s already on Offensive Coordinator No. 2.
If you’re looking for hope, remember P.J. Fleck’s first year at WMU. I wrote last year that in Brennan, SJSU was hoping it had found its own Fleck, a charismatic recruiter and chemistry builder who could overcome experience — aside from one year as SJSU offensive co-coordinator in 2009, Brennan had never been more than a receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at the FBS level — with boundless enthusiasm.
Fleck’s first year at WMU was a disastrous 1-11. The turnaround, however, began the very next year.

Brent Brennan
Offense
We’ll start with the good news: from a pure recruiting standpoint, there is talent on offense. Per the 247Sports Composite, quarterback Montel Aaron, top running backs Tyler Nevens and Malike Roberson, and five of the top eight returning receivers were all three-star prospects (including mid-three stars JaQuan Blackwell and Justin Holmes). The offensive line, rebuilding as it may be, could end up centering around a trio of mid-three-stars, as well, in junior Dominic Fredrickson, JUCO transfer Korey Mariboho, and freshman Max Barth.
As SJSU fans know quite well, simply landing three-star guys is only step one. You’ve got to actually develop them, too. That’s now up to new coordinator Kevin McGiven, who worked with Brennan at Oregon State and has had OC stints at Southern Utah, Weber State, Montana State, Utah State, and Oregon State. That’s quite the collection of polos.
McGiven’s timing hasn’t been great. Both of his years at USU coincided with a swath of quarterback injuries, and he took over the OSU offense just in time for the entire team to fall apart under Gary Andersen. Oh yeah, and again his starting QB got hurt.
Oregon State had no explosiveness whatsoever, but McGiven was able to carve out occasional efficiency with a foursome of running backs combining for 28 carries per game and a foursome of receivers catching between 30 and 34 (mostly short) passes.
McGiven likes spreading the ball around, and he’s got a potentially deep skill corps. Nevens was a pretty efficient back for a true freshman, producing a marginal efficiency rate of plus-2.2 percent, and Roberson flashed at least a little bit of explosiveness in rare open-field opportunities. The receiving corps returns last year’s top six targets, all of whom caught between 22 and 37 balls.
Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports
Tyler Nevens
Variety is good, but having actual play-makers is better. Does SJSU? Senior receiver Tre Hartley did average 14.2 yards per catch, and both he and fellow senior Justin Holmes produced marginal explosiveness rates of plus-0.25 points per successful play or higher. That pretty good. But they also combined for just a 52 percent catch rate. Hartley was SJSU’s leading receiver, and his catch rate was just 49 percent.
All-or-nothing weapons need solid possession guys as complements, which means guys like tight end Josh Oliver and sophomore slots Blackwell and Tre Walker probably need to carry more of a load.
Blackwell, a former star recruit, certainly had his moments in his redshirt freshman campaign: four catches for 84 yards against Poly, four for 70 against Utah, receptions of 48 and 35 yards, plus a 23-yard hook and lateral, against Hawaii. Walker picked up steam as the year progressed, too, catching eight for 104 against UNLV and making 24 of his 26 receptions in the last eight games. They could be the keys to unlocking more downfield potential from guys like Hartley and Holmes.

Aaron appeared to show some potential before getting sucked into the undertow of a terrible season. Despite missing three games in the middle of the year, he had three or four solid games. And then November struck.
Aaron’s first 6 games: 60% completion rate, 12.5 yards per completion, 8 TD, 3 INT, 139.0 passer rating
Aaron’s last 4 games: 51% completion rate, 11.6 yards per completion, 0 TD, 7 INT, 87.8 passer rating
We’ll chalk that up to the combination of not having enough experience and not getting enough help. But the 6’5 sophomore does appear to have a pretty high ceiling.
Of course, nothing opens up downfield opportunities like a good run game. It’s hard to feel too optimistic about that aspect. SJSU ranked 125th in rushing success rate last year, and the biggest relative strength, avoiding negative plays (77th in stuff rate), could take a hit with the loss of four linemen who combined for 43 of last year’s starts.
Left tackle Troy Kowalski’s back, and sophomore Jack Snyder got his feet wet, but unless the aforementioned star recruits (Fredrickson, Mariboho, Barth) are ready to play close to their ceiling, it’s hard to imagine the run game getting much better.
Defense
Derrick Odum also got to know Brennan at Oregon State, and he technically had more success than his offensive counterparts. But as the chart above so harshly reminds us, it wasn’t that much success. The Spartans were pretty good at big-play prevention ... and that’s about it. They were a little too bendy to qualify as a bend-don’t-break unit, ranking 117th in rushing success rate and 106th in passing success rate.
SJSU seemed to have decent plans and no depth to accomplish them. The Spartans were 91st in Q1 S&P+, 85th in Q3, and 82nd on first downs. Those other splits? 122nd in Q2, 100th in Q4, 115th on second down, 109th on third down. They couldn’t sustain success, and having an up-tempo offense going three-and-out very quickly probably didn’t help.
They could have better depth on the line, at least. Odum basically played only three guys up front — ends Bryson Bridges and Sailosi Latu and tackle Owen Roberts, all of whom return in 2018; despite the fact that these three guys combined to miss five games, however, SJSU still didn’t have another lineman who recorded more than 7.5 tackles or played in more than nine games.
In theory, that depth could increase this year, with three-star sophomores like tackle Kyle Hoppe and end Cameron Alexander having a little more experience under their respective belts.
It was the same story at linebacker: four starters recorded 28.5 or more tackles, and only one backup recorded more than six. But of those top five guys, only two return. Senior Jamal Scott was a keeper, recording 10 tackles for loss, but sophomore Tysyn Parker is the only even slightly known entity. And while recruiting has been solid elsewhere, the only other former three-star recruits in the chamber, besides Parker, are true freshmen.

Jamal Scott
Odum opened the umbrella a bit more in the back. Nine players recorded at least 21 tackles last season, and a 10th, safety Chad Miller, did so in 2016 before missing last season after getting stabbed in May.
That makes the thought of losing three starters a little less daunting. Safety Maurice McKnight and corner Jermaine Kelly were the stars of the unit, but in players like nickel Ethan Aguayo (3.5 TFLs), safety Trevon Bierria (two TFLs, eight passes defensed), and corner Dakari Monroe (3.5 TFLs, six passes defensed), there are far more known play-makers in the back of the defense than in the front.
Of course, pass defense only matters if you can force opponents to pass. Between an iffy run defense and the fact that SJSU’s offense wasn’t much of a threat, opponents ran and ran and ran on the Spartans last year — 71 percent of the time on standard downs (second-most in the country) and 37 percent on passing downs (45th). It’s up to the defensive line (and the offense, I guess), to force opponents to the air.

Special Teams
SJSU totally wasted a great special teams unit. The Spartans ranked second in the country in FG efficiency, with Bryce Crawford making seven of 10 field goals outside of 40 yards and seven of seven inside. (For variety’s sake, he also missed four PATs somehow.) Punter Michael Carrizosa, meanwhile, averaged 45.6 yards per kick.
Carrizosa is gone, but at least Crawford returns. He averaged 41.6 yards over seven punts against CSU, so perhaps the legs will still be a strength.

There are just enough exciting sophomores to talk yourself into the Spartans improving on offense, and there are just enough play-makers in the secondary, and experienced pieces on the line, to talk yourself into SJSU holding steady on defense.
There are also just enough holes to talk yourself right back out.
Sometimes a team takes off in its second year under a new coach, and we often don’t know in advance. But it’s hard to feel too good about it happening in San Jose. S&P+ projects the Spartans 129th in FBS this year, with a 12 percent win probability or worse in six of 12 games and a greater than 32 percent chance in just two (45 percent against Hawaii, 57 percent against UC Davis). Yikes.
Low lows are not a new thing for San Jose State. The best hope for 2018 is that we’ll at least learn if there is potential for some high highs.

Saturday football is BACK! A degenerate’s short guide to Alliance of American Football inaugural kick off weekend
I know you’ve all missed football for the last several days. Maybe even longer than that if you don’t watch the NFL. Way longer than that if you don’t watch the NFL or CFB. Those are both morally defensible decisions on your part. But now!
We’ve got football without kickoffs! You might recognize some players! You’ll almost definitely recognize some coaches!
Look, I’m stupid and I still love the USFL and I am legitimately excited for a return to trash ass pro football that simultaneously makes me laugh and entertains me with things like empty stadiums and slightly different rules and occasional throwbacks to “hey, that guy used to be good” or “I really thought that guy was going to be good.” Let’s away then, shall we?
When the AAF draft happened late last year, the Fleet took one of the bigger names available in QB Josh Johnson. Is that sad for the league? Yes. BUT! Johnson started games for Washington after Alex Smith got Joe Theismanned on the 33rd anniversary of Joe Theismann being Joe Theismanned by Lawrence Taylor. The really sad thing here for those about to watch ‘em up is that Josh Johnson is no longer on the team. But Mike Bercovici is! Surely Mike Martz and Mike DeBord can wring something from that dry towel?
Opposing the Fleet are the Commanders. Might as well get all that military pomp in the DNA of the league on the runway to getting military sponsors. Maybe they already have those. I’m trying not to find out. The Commanders do have one of a handful of AAF players that I’m seriously intrigued by - former RTARLsman candidate (as a quarterback) Greg Ward, Jr. He’s a receiver now. Which is how the NFL projected him and was his original position in college. I’d like to see if he can still make plays against slightly better (in theory) competition than the ol’ AAA.
This is the marquee matchup for names that don’t go together but will put the fear of nostalgia in you. Atlanta has an offensive coordinator you may recognize. It’s Michael Vick! Goddamn, man, no version of football can make it even one hour without turning off a sizable portion of the American public. The Legends also have Aaron Murray, Denard Robinson and Akrum Wadley. Those are three guys I saw a lot of in their college years and also three guys I never expected to make much headway as professional football players. Guess they’re showing me!
The Apollos have the biggest name in the league and, of course, it’s their head coach. It’s Steve Spurrier himself! Why? I guess he gets bored in the spring. The Apollos are my current team because of Spurrier and also because they have a bunch of players from the seven 1-A programs in the state of Florida. And, as a special treat, they’ve got Garrett Gilbert. I still think he has an outside shot to be a decent replacement-level QB in the NFL. Nothing I’ve ever seen from a Spurrier QB suggests to me that this is the right situation for him to realize his potential.
If you’re going to name your stupid spring pro league team the Express you should at least pay some homage to the sweet L.A. Express uniforms that Steve Young rocked way back when. Memphis is repping the SEC hard with their roster and pathetically enough might have the best QB room in the whole damn league. Zach Mettenberger and Christian Hackenberg. That’s all it takes. I’ve lost the rest of you now, haven’t I?
The Iron have the hardest look in the AAF with their monochrome, logo-less shit. I love it. Your named for an element, be elemental in your design. They also have a roster stocked with Auburn and Alabama legends like Chris Davis and Trent Richardson. The QB room for Birmingham rules in a way that only somebody with the same stupid interests as me could fully understand. Nick Perez, Keith Price and Blake Sims all don’t belong in pro football for a plethora of reasons and they all have their own peculiar weaknesses. This is what shitty football degeneracy is made of. I really want to see all of them take snaps. Maybe even on the same play.
There aren’t enough teams in this league to really hold my interest but I said the same thing about the UFL a few years ago and you know what? I watched all the UFL I could. I’m trying to find something to like about Salt Lake’s roster but Matt Asiata already sucked in the NFL and I don’t remember any of the other guys. The uniforms are sort of cool.
Arizona is great because they look like a movie set in a college football universe that didn’t license actual school logos and mascots and they’re supposed to be Arizona State but they can’t say that. So their Tempe State or some bullshit like that. In real life or whatever the AAF is, they got their head coach poached by Liberty before he even lead a practice. It gets worse because he was High Freeze anyway. It gets even worse because Rick Neuheisel is replacing him. Neuheisel is a way downmarket version of John Gruden. And Gruden actually belongs in this league but the Raiders are paying him $10M/year to trash their franchise even more than the last 16 years have already trashed their franchise. At least they’ve got Trevor Knight at QB and former #1 overall recruit Trenton Thompson somewhere on their roster.

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Apr. 10, 2017– (NASDAQ: AMZN)–Amazon announces it has greenlit The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for an unprecedented two seasons on Prime Video. The Amazon Original Series, from renowned creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls) and Executive Producer Daniel Palladino (Family Guy), is Amazon Studios’ first multi-season greenlight of a new series in its history.
The series, written and directed by Sherman-Palladino, stars Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards) as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who has everything she’s ever wanted–the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting Yom Kippur dinner. But her perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent–one that changes her life forever. She charts a course that takes her from her comfortable life on Riverside Drive, through the basket houses and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she storms the world of stand-up comedy…a course that will ultimately lead her to a spot on Johnny Carson’s couch.
“In her onstage debut, Mrs. Maisel killed and had audiences responding overwhelmingly with digital applause,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy, Drama & VR, Amazon Studios. “Like any great young stand-up, we’re excited to see what she has to say next and for a long time to come.
