Been reading my husband’s grandpa’s diary from like 1940. Can’t put it down.  Fascinating how his routine is so similar to people today: he lives at home w/ his parents, gets up at 6am to spend the day in classes and his on-campus job, (which apparently is cleaning the gym locker room).  He “flubs” exams, complains about professors. He “pines” over “Buzzie” and wants to ask her to the Valentine’s Dance, but even from 80 years away I can tell Buzzie’s just not that into him. He comes home and studies and stays up until midnight listening to the radio.  The monotony is real . . . One entry is literally just:  “Mother bought a cake.”

yesterday I saw a post about taking brave action, so I did. I booked everything for a trip to go to a new city, where they offer two masters programs that I’m interested in. and I emailed the programme directors to ask if my qualifications would be suitable to apply. aaaah!!
