Today I am beyond thankful just to be alive, to breathe. To be able to stand up and walk because I know what it’s like to barely be able to get out of bed just to go to the bathroom.

I’m thankful for every strand of hair on my body, every eyelash and every body hair because I now know what it’s like to live without it.

I am thankful for the ability to touch things and feel because I lived for months without the ability to feel the warmth of my lovers skin against my fingers or the softness of my cat’s fur.

I am thankful that my body has carried me through this hell thus far.

I’ll be thankful for each bite of food I enjoy today because for months I threw up everything I ate, and the chemo made everything taste bitter or rotten.

I am thankful for my support system, the people who carry me through this, who help me even when I’m the being biggest bitch in the world.

Thankful for the tears, because they remind me that I’m human.

Thankful for each breath I take, even when I so desperately just want to disappear.

Thankful for the pain, because it reminds me that I’m alive.

Presley is in partial remission, a small victory amidst this journey. 🎗️

However, the fight is far from over. She's now on the AALL1311 protocol, with treatment extended by six weeks due to recent complications. We face 2.5 years of treatment, with the hardest rounds of chemo starting now. 💪

We’re submitting her results to Children's Cincinnati, Boston, and St. Jude’s for second opinions and to see if she qualifies for Proton therapy. 🏥

Stacey needs reassurance that Presley is receiving the best care possible, given her high-risk status. 💖 If all centers agree, Presley will continue treatment at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.

She will start the next block of chemo soon, which includes general anesthesia and spinal chemo. Presley will be in the hospital for five days every two weeks, continuing this cycle for eight weeks.

Achieving remission isn’t the hardest part; staying in remission is. 🏨 Due to her blood level struggles, we anticipate more hospital stays.

This summer will be tough, but today’s news has given us hope. 🌟 We need your support more than ever.

Living in fear of each result, every stick and poke and prod. Looking to my doctors like they’re gods, when they’re humans just like me. Barely understanding the oddity of my body, and how it, “keeps them on their toes”.

And the reality of it is that nobody knows, and when I bare the questions burning in my soul, all I get is, “we honestly dont know,”. and all I can say to that is I honestly don’t know why this had to happen to me.
