Lusanlu Week Day 1: First Kiss/First Meal

Post-Whole Cake Island, everything’s a mess, everything is wonderful

Hello lusan nation, I did perhaps go a little insane making this. No one let me do a comic again.

I’ve had the thought percolating in my mind of Sanji coming back to the Sunny and seeing their decimated kitchen. I know Nami probably cleaned, but Luffy’s destructive force is unrivalled. Sanji is overwhelmed, but more so enamoured than enraged. I dunno, coming home to a place you thought you’d never see again, and seeing it ruined, but its really not about the place. Its about the people. His beloved crew and captain.

I’m not even finished wci myself but Luffys desperation and determination and love for Sanji just really gets to me. Also, laugh-crying. Yeah.

From a technical standpoint this was a lot of work and a lot of fun. I did cry when trying to deal with procreates abysmal add text function, and when trying to find the right brush for shading. And then I went back in and wrote the text myself. Alas, art is pain, etc, etc. I’m actually very happy with this though, even just for getting it done. Lusan moves me to great lengths.

Phil: [Cracks up] I've played these games before! I've done it before, man! I genuinely probably need therapy, but I'm just putting it off! [Laughs]

Sneeg: How do you explain to a therapist that you're attached to an Egg from Minecraft though? 🤨

Phil: Ok, so there's this server, right? And it's ran by my friend, and– It's– brings in people from various different cultures and languages, and then– and then he decided: "Oh, you know what would be really cool to keep people playing? And invested? What if we give them a fcking EGG?"

Phil: [Cracks up]

Sneeg: I don't think they're... I don't think they're gonna gamble on that.

Phil: I'm not doin' this NPC, like– actor– like, thing on server again! I've played these games before!

Sneeg: [Laughs]

Phil: I've played these g– I've done it before, man! I genuinely probably need therapy, but I'm just putting it off! [Laughs] For- for fckin'–

Sneeg: [Overlapping with Phil] There's this server– and then there was an Egg, with a glock. [Laughs]

Phil: –Brings in people from various different cultures and languages, and then– and then he decided: "Oh, you know what would be really cool to keep people playing? And invested? What if we give them a fcking EGG?"

Sneeg: Attachment. [Laughs] Attachment to something!

Phil: "What if we give them an Egg that- that has wants and needs? And you need to look after it."

Sneeg: And a personality!

Phil: Yeah, "And a personality, and- [stammers] and quirks and- and–"

Sneeg: [Overlapping with Phil] And its life's in danger, people– things were trying to kill it.

Phil: Yeah. And things keep trying to kill it, and you have to save it, you are its– you are its only s– hope.

Sneeg: If it dies, it's your fault. It's your fault! Your fault. [Laughs]

Phil: [In unison with Sneeg] Your fault! Your entire audience of thousands of people will be PISSED if you don't care! If you don't care, you are a MONSTER!

Sneeg: [Overlapping with Phil] And they're so valid, they're so valid 'cuz it's true.

Phil: [Laugh] Imagine joining my stream, and I'm just like reading a bedtime story to a little Egg.

Sneeg: [Cracks up]

Phil: Like– [Laughs] Like, what a CRAZY way to come back!

Sneeg: "Oh, my favorite vanilla Minecraft streamer Philza Minecraft's on– playing Minecraft today, let's see what he's doing!" [Voice cracks as he tries not to laugh]

Phil: Yeah, "What's- what's Kusump?" [QSMP]

Sneeg: –and you're like: [Leaning into his mic] "Humpty Dumpty." [Laughs]

Phil: "What's Kusump? What's this? Why's he got an Egg, and why is it just holding up a sign that just says 'Food'?"

billy, jon and damian hanging out at wayne manor over the weekend, just watching random cartoons and poking fun of them

damian: "this show is such an unfaithful adaptation of the characters"

jon: "lighten up, it's just a dumb little cartoon anyway!"

dick who just arrived from blüdhaven, pops his head into the theatre room unannounced

dick: "what's a dumb little cartoon? i love dumb little cartoons"

jon, literally flying out of his seat in surprise: "NOTHING!"

damian rolls his eyes and reaches for the remote to switch channels and avoid the likely fuss, only to see billy tossing it between his hands

billy: "oh we're watching teen titans go. wanna join?"

dick: "teen titans... what now??"

damian: "BATSON."

jon: "BILLY!"

45 minutes later dick is pacing the theatre, 25 minutes into complaining about the mischaracterisation of him and his friends. every so often he'll grab damian by the shoulders and shake him like damian's the one that made the show

jon: "billy why did you do this to us"

jon looks at the spot where he swore billy was a second ago, blinking

jon: "billy??"

damian, still being shaken by a raging dick: "batson vanished 5 minutes into richard's rant"

cut to billy sitting at the rock of eternity giggling like a maniac with mercury in peels of laughter

Day 6 of @jonmartinweek HUGS & CUDDLES!!! i slept for pretty much 80% of the day today so I rushed a bit to finish this one >:"p but I still really like how it turned out!!!!
