the shock jock era of comedy and radio (post-90s howard stern) in the early to mid 2000s feels like a fever dream. like opie and anthony and bubba the love sponge and that other guy who was like 50 and claimed to still get laid with 20 yr olds. it was so awful but somehow the revival of it (ie: cumtown, legion of skanks) is even worse because shock jocks would just be allowed to be offensive without much backlash while these new podcasts losers are deliberately bad in an attempt to piss off the current culture or whatever. as if it takes that much to make a bunch of twitter blue check mark journalists angry.
