Oof. Can't believe it's been 4 years 🤦‍♀️

Unfortunately, Eloise (and all my writing) stalled out and has not been finished. There were various reasons why (that I won't get into), then I went back to school, got my education degree, and started working as a teacher. Now, I'm slowly starting to return to my writing, but I don't have any idea when things will be finished. Sorry.

In case others are wondering, the projects I am currently returning to are:

Dead Impressions (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but for people who actually like Pride and Prejudice)

As part of returning to writing, I'm still doing an occasional drabble or one-off, so I'll share those from time to time, but no set schedule for them.

I've got a couple (several), depending on the genre and mood you're in...

When Demons Walk (Patricia Briggs) - a fun little fantasy novel about a mage turned thief who has to pose as the local rulers mistress so she can find the demon currently killing nobles. Tropey but fun. It's not Patty's best work, but I really enjoy it and reread it at least once a year

Paladin of Souls (Louis McMaster Bujold) - a cynical, but in the best way, fantasy. It is, technically, the second book in a series but is totally fine on its own. Follows a different MC and has a pretty different vibe from the first book anyway. It's about the ex-insane dowager queen trying to figure out what to do with herself now that the curse from book 1 is broken. Oh, and also, why won't the gods leave her alone?! Bit dark, but the romance is *chef's kiss* and the world building is amazing

The Vorkosigan Saga (Louis McMaster Bujold) - best sci-fi series I've ever read. I love it. The main MC across the series is Miles Vorkosagan, an insanely brilliant little sh*t who gets into all sorts of trouble. Usually, because he's trying to prove himself (it's not needed, his family all love him) but then realizes he needs to step up to do the right thing (not always the cause of the bad situation, just sometimes)

Legend's Legacy (by me!) - a historical fantasy romp about the last descendants of Medusa and Perseus having to set aside their feud long enough to find out if killing each other will doom the world. I really enjoy it, but I am far from objective on this one lol

Spinning Silver (Naomi Novik) - a historical fantasy about the daughter of a Jewish moneylender getting tangled up with Russian elves and a demon. It is very much not a fun romp, but it is ridiculously well written, and I don't reread it often because once I start, I can't put it down until I'm done

Our Bloody Pearl (D. N. Bryn @brynwrites) - a (somewhat) dark fantasy about a siren and a pirate finding common ground through a common enemy (and the pirate's big heart). There's sass, characters with disabilities, amazing lgbtq rep, danger on and off the high seas, and some steampunk shenanigans

@ithillia found me a goldmine here. I haven't read the Legacy of the Force yet but we can get a glimpse here how Boba saw Kal as a kid.

If I remember correctly, Jango called him by Vau's recommendation but I have to reread that part.

I think Kal still haunts some of the kaminoans' dreams who dared to look at his children the wrong way. But according to Taun We's comment I have the feeling that sometimes they didn't have to give a reason. They just had to be kaminoans for that. Kal really hated them and found them all complicit in harming the clones regardless if they were actually involved in the research or not. Encountering Kina Ha is what starting change his mind about judging an entire race for the crime of the few.

Kal is short. He always gives the impression of being angry. He doesn't fight fair - I mean, his specialty is assassination, intelligence gathering, and psychological warfare.
