Bear with me cause I'm gonna go on a rant that will probably be a bit incoherent but I'm brainrotting rn

so this concerns the webtoon community(although it's probably a widespread phenomenon in fandom) but

Y'all love complex and morally gray female characters(or even just characters of every gender) until they are complex and morally gray

I've seen a lot about this especially for Annabel Lee from Nevermore so I won't touch upon her case in this rant but the point still stands for her go read analysises.

so today i'm gonna be discussing Rastha, also known as Trashta:

I haven't read up to much after the remarrying of Navier but I feel like my point still stands. Also spoilers

Imo, Rashta is a complex and sympathetic villain. She grew up as a slave and believed her child was dead (child who was a also later used as leverage to blackmail her.) It's logical she tries to up the ranks to never live as miserably like this. She's a product of unfortunate circumstances. I do not think she's in the right, but that's kind of the whole point of her character to be the antagonist.

Also, she didn't want to be Navier's ennemy at first??? She wanted to live in a world where she was happy and that's valid. (Navier's reaction was also valid mind you.) She acted like she was indifferent to her first baby's fate yet she let herself be blackmailed because she DID care for it. She goes throught emotions and layers and that makes her complex.

Yet despite being sympathetic and half of the bad things in the webtoon happening not being her fault, she's the most hated character.

I hate Sovieshit and her blackmailer much more. Sovieshit was really using double standard against Navier like "oh yeah i'm allowed to have a mistress and divorce you just cause I feel like it and i'm using you for my own benefit but don't you go remarrying yourself or having a lover you're mine >:((((". Sovieshit is borderline a mysogynist (he only wants a delicate woman he can control to do as he pleases) but no Rashta is the real horrible villain we must demonize her.

Now her blackmailer(i forgot his name but if you read the webtoon you know who he is). Most of it his fault. He is using and ataking advantage of Rastha who wnats nothing else than to be free. Sovieshit is painted as a bit sympathetic(wrongly might i add) but this guy is just plain evil. But he's not more hated than Rastha????

I'm not defending her actions I just want people to see further than their noses and realize that characters can be good without being good people.

Now even if i see it more for female characters this is real for male characters too but kinda in the opposite route? Like in twisted wonderland, the characters are MADE to be villains yet people smooth them over as poor little meows meows and babygirls. It's funny as a joke but it erases their entire personnality and complexity, while morally gray female characters get demonized for having the same grayness.(Also i'd like to add that Vil schoenheit, a feminine male characters gets also demonized like female characters so i'm starting to see a pattern here.) So double standard much?

in short, don't say you like complex and morally grey characters if you can't handle them correctly. They deserve better than you

Flavor of Love matchup: Twisted wonderland edition

This one is for Anon lee! I actually wavered back and forth for several days, but the outcome was better than I expected. I hope you enjoy this!

Congratulations, your friend to be is none other than Idia Shroud!

Out of all of the dorms from twisted wonderland I have a feeling that you match best with Ignihyde and Pomefiore. Between the two dorms, you’re more likely to find yourself connecting with Ignihyde over Pomefiore when it comes down to friendship. Hence, the choice being Idia shroud, you could count Ortho as well. From the way you write and your hobbies it seems you’re more introverted than extroverted. So, as someone who collects more energy by themself it’s important to have a friend who understands that. There's no doubt that Idia is someone who understands that feeling well. When you feel like leaving to relax on your own he’s going to understand and there’s no harsh feelings about it. 

During the times when the two of you come together I predict there won’t be many physical activities. Perhaps just playing some video games together or even watching a new show the two of you found together. Whatever you two do together it’s going to be based on your energy levels, so nothing too extreme. Although, there’s always room to try something new if the usual gets boring. 

Both Idia and you are quite stubborn, which could lead to butting heads at times. Whether it’s over what game to play or who won the match you two will go head-to-head over some pretty random things. During these times Ortho’s going to be the mediator to keep things civil between the two of you. 

Overall this is a friendship that is pretty comfortable for the two of you! Nothing too extreme, yet it’s enough to be close to one another. Idia has your back whether he’ll openly say it or not. Plus, you’ve got his back and if either of you are in trouble you’ll laugh and poke fun, but always be there to get them.

Member of team coffee and perhaps the least troublesome of the bunch, Vil Schoenheit is all yours to love. As I previously mentioned I personally believe you match best with Ignihyde and Pomefiore, so it’s no surprise your lover came from the later dorm. Loving a team coffee member is no easy task, but I think it’s possible for you! 

Falling in love with Vil is easy and I believe your stubbornness will be one of the key components to keep you going in this relationship. Team coffee doesn’t run away from love, rather they head in first to push those who love them away. By the time that happens would have already fallen in love with you, but his own thoughts will cause him to push you away. In these times you need to keep headstrong if you want this relationship to last and give one last push to keep going. Although, I have a feeling that Idia would tell you to toss in the towel, but your stubbornness won’t let go till the end. 

The end in this situation would be the confession of love, see team coffee won’t even let you say those words. To get to that ending you’ll have to push Vil in a way to show him how you truly feel about him as a person. For example, if he’s feeling insecure about being second place or not being a good actor then you’ll need to let him know. During that moment he’ll come to realize everything he’s done and reflect on himself. Afterwards, Vil is going to confess his feelings, but not in a pretty way, he’ll tell you the truth. Saying it’s not going to be easy and that he’s flawed in many ways, yet you already know this. In fact you knew about it way before you decided to go this far into the relationship. 

To conclude, this is a messy start full of bittersweet romance, but it ends with a satisfying result. Together, Vil is going to spoil you in more ways than you can count, from gifts to kisses he’ll do it all. Once you’re close enough he’ll open more about himself and look to you for advice. Yet, you’re calming nature is going to soothe Vil whenever you’re together to create a relaxing relationship for the two of you.

twisted wonderland endless halloween night spoilers

so we all know that during the endless halloween night event, malleus was the one who stopped the time and made the ghost kidnapped half of the student population right? 

almost all of them were possessed except for malleus and lilia ( who was faking that they were possessed cause they were playing a prank on the rest of the students )

what if malleus didn’t invite yuu to his prank?

when yuu arrives at the sparking chamber, they immediately knew that malleus wasen’t possessed ( one of the strongest wizards getting possessed by a mere ghost?? yuu feels that smth is SUS ) 

therefore, yuu decided too fake an act and pranks malleus back by saying that they decided to invite malleus to a christmas party and even specifically wrote an invitation letter to him but since malleus is possessed,they should just burn the letter. 

*yuu and the others arrive at the sparkling chamber*

*malleus acting like a greedy old emperor*

*yuu sighs when they realised that malleus is just acting*

yuu: you know..... i planned to invite malleus to a christmas party this year..... i even had a list of ice cream with different flavours to let malleus try. since malleus is now possessed, i guess the chances of him coming back is 0.

At first, to be honest, it probably bothered him a bit but because he's friends with Rook who's a pretty eccentric character himself, I doubt he would find you upsetting. He might tell you not to bother him if he's busy studying or memorizing lines for a film, but otherwise he won't mind

If he knows about your singing hobby or career, he'll support it. It's nice to have something you're passionate about, and if that's music to you then he'll be there to be your #1 supporter.

When you do invite him to a concert, he'll be honored to see you perform in a big event. He'll tell you he wants to buy the tickets but you insist that it's free, but he'll still buy the tickets anyways because he wants to :/

Before heading out to watch you, he might take a look at your music journal if it happens to be lying open. Floyd Leech - Can stand that above scenario, as long as his hands aren't bound, he wants to help the ler wreck his twin so they might let him go. If they are then he absolutely can't.

Kalim Al-Asim - Can't sit still while getting a henna tattoo done, even though he loves the way they look, he can't stand getting them done, so he tries to sit and take it, but Jamil ends up holding his arms in place while getting them and while they dry so he doesn't scratch them off because they tickle.

Jamil Viper - No. 1 way to tease him is to look him in the eyes while you wreck him, he needs to focus and concentrate when using his unique ability, so it's a reminder that he can't think straight enough to save himself.

Pomefiore Dorm: 

Vil Schoenheit - (Oh, queen-) Won't admit it to save his life, but there is a part of his reason for keeping the skin under his clothing so flawless is that he wants any of his lers to notice and compliment him on it.

Epel Felmier - His little country accent comes out when you hit a bad spot and he will threaten to carve you like one of his apple if you mention it at all.
