Vamp Trein being an old-fashioned vampire who judges all of those younger vampires who are all over the place: from one who can't even feed on humans properly to the point where half of the time he looks on the brink of collapse, to one that seems to be entangled??? with a vampire hunter???

If he wasn't a vampire he's sure he would have already died from a heart attack because what are these people doing.

No matter what he won't get near the water, not with those twins lurking nearby, they are nothing but trouble.

The siren though... He seems decent. As long as you don't interfere with his business, he won't interfere with yours, which at this point in existence is very much appreciated.

Angst warning:

Vamp Trein having lost her wife because she was human and he is not and she made it very clear that she wanted to die human; so he could only respecther wishes and walk with her through her final stages of life.

One of the only things that remind him of her is Lucius, his cat, who has remained with him throughout his life.

Angst over

Azul and Sam being the best and worst people youcan encounter when facing hardships: can they and will they help you? Yes they will. For free? oh, no, N O

They will just magically appear next to you whenever you're in trouble and you might need them. Good luck trying to reject their offers, and don't even think about not giving them their payment for their services.

After getting his fill of blood (courtesy of Jamil), Idia walks back to his and Ortho's place.

Only to immediately collapse when he sees a stranger (a very dangerous and scary looking stranger) with Ortho.

Hello Vil, how are you doing.

Vil proceeds to (metphorically) chew off Idia's ear for leaving his brother in a childish fit of rage, for not being able to hunt properly (killing humans would not be that hard if you put at least a bit of effort into it!!!😡😡) as well as having to resort to Azul's help as a consequence.

Despite everything, I imagine Idia is doing better. Ortho, at least, is glad to see his brother look less like a corpse and actually socialize (after prodding and cornering him, Idia tells Ortho about Jamil)

Usually Idia waits by Jamil's pond when he needs a new dose of blood. He just stands there by the shore. Ruggie will pop in occasionally to steal Jamil's precious stone; although he's not even trying that much.

Now onto Rook and his favourite hunter:

Rollo fears for Rook's physical integrity 24/7.

That vampire will show up at church just to say hi because he's bored.

Rook knows how to cook (while not needing to) while Rollo can only manage the basics, sticking to his "amazing and well-balanced" diet of grapes and croissants.

How the hunter has not died yet from nutrient deficiency is beyond everyone.

Rollo gets constantly used as a personal heating bag/climbing tree by Rollo; and if he's not careful, he'll also get his face peppered with kisses.

The beastmen of the church (except Ruggie) have noticed a change of smell coming off Rollo but a) they have not bothered to investigate the cause of it or b) they have attributed it to a change of body soap or the effects of frankincense taking a toll on their sense of smell.

Riddle and Sebek share the same run-down mansion, and it's noisy as hell.

The reason they haven't been hunted down yet by the church crew despite being so loud is exactly because of that.

No one can approach them within a 10 meter radius without getting their ear drums pierced.

They are not even doing that conciously.

They're just angry gremlins.

Deuce gets gradually better at playing the orgue after asking Epel and Rollo for lessons.

He's still not as good as that mysteryous person who sometimes can be heard playing the instrument but he's not getting any shoes thrown at now 😃

I think Kalim is one of the few vampries Epel hasn't been able to hunt down. He may look a bit airheaded but he's very agile and quick on his feet. He won't actively use violence but will absolutely make you trip so he can make his escape.

He loves humans in general but he doesn't like the look of that metal ball with spikes!!

Card soldier: Ace Trappola

Ace is dense and cocky as fuck.

He’s really nice, it’s just… he can get really annoying sometimes. You just need to see past his ego

He’s just a cocky tsundere, really.

He’s the little brother and that honestly makes 100% sense. He’s the feral goblin kind of little brother who gets on your nerves and makes you want to chuck him out of the window but if anyone hurts him they’ll die.

Needs attention 24/7 and he’ll annoy you just so you talk to him.

The kind of person who complains about others being too loud while he's probably the loudest in the room.

Clear case of “always saying they’re the best but cannot take compliments like a normal person”.

Ace does appreciate compliments tho, especially the honest ones. In fact, he’d rather get complimented once a week if he feels like that compliment is well deserved and earned; than get complimented every day for unimportant stuff. 

He only acts like this with people he trusts but… he’s whiny. Really whiny. Will complain about everything and treat even the smallest of tasks like a huge inconvenience. 

He’ll probably complain all the way through it, but he’ll almost always help someone in need.

If he scrapes his knees in basketball in front of strangers, he’ll play it off like it’s no big deal. In front of Deuce though? He’ll be complaining all the way to the infirmary about the blood, how much it hurts, saying things like “I think I have broken my knee, I won't be able to attend Vargas’ classes, oh no…”

But again, just with people he trusts who can see through his bullshit and know what’s really going on.

It takes some time for him to open up to others  but after that, he can get over attached. 

I’m not saying that he’s introverted. Like, he can socialize easily at a party, but forming actual lasting bonds? A bit more complicated.

Would not surprise me if Trey found one day that Ace set him as his emergency contact. 

This is not a headcanon, just a friendly reminder: Brutally honest. Really doesn’t beat around the bush. If he sees something unfair, he’ll say it, and that… can be refreshing sometimes. 

Ace is amazing at “Where’s Waldo?”. He scans the page quickly and in about 10 seconds he’s already found the little guy.

Deuce is the most lovely disaster you’ll ever meet

You wouldn’t guess by the way he looks tho. Like, you’ll be talking to him thinking “oh wow, he looks like a very hardworking person, I bet he’s first in almost all his classes” and boom WRONG

He really tries, and he is getting better, but sometimes you’ll see him in Alchemy making the most basic and devastating mistake ever made and blowing up a whole cauldron and it’s like. How?

He really needs to be studied

His grades are getting better, despite everything

Teachers might not adore Deuce because he can be unintentionally loud and he has a tendency to forget stuff or to deliver it last minute, but they do appreciate his efforts. 

Trein, for example

I think he kind of knows that if Deuce fails an exam it isn’t because he didn’t study but rather because he really has a hard time memorizing dates and understanding the subject. So I believe (I love Trein with all my heart, leave me alone) he gives Deuce extra material or offers to revise lessons with him and the rest of 1st years. 

I think that’s kind of what differentiates him and Ace. Ace doesn’t want to fail either but I think he’s a bit more laid back and cocky than Deuce, which is why he fails as well lol. Whereas Deuce spends 6 hours a day studying (and not understanding anything), Ace spends 2 thinking he’ll kinda just wing it, I mean, it can’t be that hard, can it?(yes, yes it can, yes it is). 

Both speedrun their homework and assignments last minute: one because he thinks they’re not that complicated; the other because he forgets). They have pulled their fair share of all-nighters and have gotten reprimanded by Riddle for it.

I know it has been said before but STRONG.

If you need someone to carry lab equipment or books or smt like that he’s your man.

Has built a lot of muscle mass due to his old delinquent days. 

And now he works out because he doesn’t want to lose it (he helps out his mum with deliveries and heavy packages). 

Clear case of “a great power comes with great responsibility”. The great power being those biceps, and the responsibility being helping old ladies with their groceries. 

He’s broken things unintentionally though. 

I think that’s something that ties him with Jack. 

Like they’re the “too strong to hold delicate things” duo. 

It makes him a bit sad and a bit scared to hold delicate stuff like fine china or hedgehogs because he doesn’t want to squish them accidentally. 

He’s made a mess in the kitchen trying to help Trey on numerous occasions (breaking eggs without getting any shell on them is tricky when you’ve got arms made of steel). 

He’s learning to crochet and origami so he can better control his strength. He also (secretly) thinks that will make him a bit more attractive and less menacing. In his head it’s like “how cool is that with a stick and a string I can make a hat????”

Adorable

He can be unintentionally blunt as well. Sometimes he’ll want to word what he’s thinking differently because he knows being very blunt can hurt people’s feelings and in the process will end up saying something that makes no sense (like this whole sentence, my brain is not braining today).

Poly octavinelle headcanons Pt3: final. Seeing their mer forms

Floyd & Jade: Both of them are very proud of their mer forms, showing off as much as they can and inviting you over to watch them swim every time they have to change back.

On top of that, they are quite competitive; always asking you to tell them who do you think is the most handsome or captivating one telling you to come closer to the edge of the pool so you see their scales and stripes better. Be careful though, don’t come too close to the edge or they’ll drag you in with them (only if you know how to swim) or splash you endlessly so that you’re as soaked as if you had been in the water.

Worst case scenario though, they’ll drag you underwater for a bit so they can squeeze you as much as possible (don’t worry, they’ll make sure that you are safe) with their whole body and pass you as if you were a chewing toy, despite Azul’s and your protests. Speaking of him;

Azul: It will take a while for Azul to show you his mer form, when he does, it will be a slow and gradual process.

Firstly, he’ll be asking you very vague questions about your stance on octopi and cecaelia: Do you think octopi are cute? Don’t you think their arms and slimy texture are disgusting? Do you find their appearance… Unsightly? Would you hold one?

The twins will come to the rescue and show you pictures of cecaelia when Azul’s not watching so that you kind of know what you’re getting into.

Then, after telling him you won’t be bothered by how he may look, he’ll know.

He’ll take things slow: first, his face.

You get startled as all of a sudden, the video call icon appears on your phone screen. Why is Azul calling me at this hour? He’s usually busy with the Lounge…

Determined to find out what’s wrong, you decide to take the call, only to find shiny blue eyes contrasting with ash skin staring at you.

“Azul? Is that you?”

What looks like your partner blinks owlishly at you as if trying to decipher what you just said. Receiving no answer, you squint at the screen and confirm that it is indeed your boyfriend who is at the other side of the line.

“I. Yes, it’s me, Azul… Since you were very persistent in seeing my original form, I thought I could show it to you bit by bit so a human like you can… Process my appearance better.” Azul says, looking away, “After all, I’ve been told that mers like me are not what you’d usually expect a mer to be.”

“…Alright? So what? I mean, I’m sorry but I don’t know how mers typically look around here, for all I know they could be very different from what I’ve seen in fairy tales.” At this, your boyfriend perks up, curiosity glinting his inky eyes “How are these mers, may I ask?”

And as you start telling him about the fairy tales you remember from your youth, you felt Azul relax and his tone shift from cautious to his usual demeanour.

It’s in that moment when he decides to speed things up a bit, his upper body comes next.

“Azul, are you sure you want to do this? I don’t want you to feel pressured or anything.” You say as you look down at the pool.

Azul told you the previous day to be at Octavinelle’s pool after classes so he could show you something. What he was going to show you, he didn’t specify, but you could guess what it was by the sense of urgency in his voice.

You were pulled out of your thoughts as a familiar face pops out of the water. “Do not worry my dear, I can assure you I’m doing this on my own accord.” He says as he swims closer to the edge of the pool where you’re standing. Carefully then, he places his hands on the edge and slowly pushes himself upwards so that his torso is fully out of the water. …Are those tentacles? You think as you squint to see better the dark flurry that is attached to Azul’s upper body.

“Ahem. I hope you’re not too distracted by whatever it is you’re looking at to talk with someone, right?” He says, words slightly failing him as he pushes away the urge to get under the water and hide. This is the most any land-dweller has seen from him, and the fear of people mocking him and insulting him was very much real. He twins would make sure they’d pay for that, but he didn’t want to be subject to those prying eyes every again, even for just a minute or two. It was now your turn to pull him from out of his thoughts as you answered him, “Oh, no sorry, I was just thinking about what I’m going to have for dinner, don’t worry about it.” You say to cut his train of thought. I don’t want him to feel unwanted. “You look really pretty though.”

Seconds pass when your boyfriend just looks at you as if you had grown a second head, and immediately after, a wave of dark blue washes him as his brain

seems to have caught up with what you’ve said.  Seconds after, he splutters in embarrassment “What are you even talking about, have you lost your mind?? Do you need to get your eyes checked??”

“I mean, it’s been a while since I got my eyes checked but I can see you from here just fine? And I think you look really pretty. A bit slimy, but that’s to be expected since you’re like a fish? I mean, you’re not, you’re an octopus, but you know; potato, potäto.”

“… Did you just call me slimy?” And now Azul looks at the verge of a breakdown.

“I DID NOT MEAN IT THAT WAY. Everyone’s skin is different, yours might be more slippery than mine but so is the tweel’s, even Leona’s skin is different than mine, and don’t make me go into Malleus’ skin texture, he once grabbed my hand to show me some gargoyles he had found and it was weird as hell. Not really unpleasant, but it was kind of like touching you but a little less slippery and more like touching cold leather? Oh, and not that I rather touch him than you, I just thought I’d tell you so that you know that having a different skin texture than mine is fine?”

“Did you know we give Floyd’s slime to Vil Schoenheit in exchange of some of his plants.”

 “I’m sorry you what?” It’s now your turn to stare dumbfounded at Azul. How do they even do that? Does Vil know???

“Oh well that’s quite easy, actually. As long as Floyd is feeling cooperative, I mean. You see, to extract his slime we, Jade and I, put him on top of a huge bucket we have prepared and we squeeze him like a wet towel to get as much slime as possible.”

You blink, Ah, so I said that out loud, “I’m not going to even ask how did you find out about Floyd’s goo having cosmetic properties. Can we talk about something else? Wait shit-” You mutter as your phone rings loudly, cutting you abruptly. Picking it up, you see Deuce’s name on the screen. Damn it, I did agree to meet up with him so we could study history together. “Azul, I’m so sorry, I have to take this; hey Deuce, yes, yes I remember. Would you mind starting alone? I’m a bit far from Heartstabyul right now, but in 10 min max I’ll be there. Oh, you already started? Huh? Yeah? Ok, sounds like you got it covered for now, nice. See you soon.” Having hung up you turn to see your boyfriend smiling smugly.

“Oho? Studying with the Heartstabyul freshmen? I could give you some notes if you’d like. For a small price, of course.”

“Oh, absolutely not. Not happening today. I call bullshit.” You say as you stand up and gather your things “See you tomorrow Azul.” And after pressing a soft kiss at the crown of his hair, Seriously, how can it be so soft? you leave.

Showing you his whole body doesn’t go as planned.

He intended to grant you access to Monstro Lounge a couple of hours before its opening time so you could see he and the tweels (who would be there for emotional support) from the other side of the aquarium glass. That way, he would feel less exposed as the aquarium’s fauna would remind him of the real sea.

However, he soon finds his plans thwarted by his own self. You see, with everything he had going on (he spent a whole month planning the reveal, dealing with new decoration items that had arrived, restructuring the lounge…) , our lovely Azul Ashengrotto forgot that he had to change forms at least once a month, and that if he didn’t voluntarily switch to his octopus form, his body would make the choice for him at the most inconvenient time.

Jump to the present, and that’s how you ended up running behind a silently panicking Jade who was carrying your boyfriend (who was yelling and thrashing around) towards Octavinelle’s private pool “Azul please tell me you didn’t forget to change back this month?”

“Shut up, I’ve been doing too much lately and the pool was always crowded…” The little octopus answers. Jade sighs, shaking his head in disbelief, “Oh dear, and I thought we wouldn’t have to go through this again after last year.”

“What happened last year?” You say, perking up. “Oh, nothing much”, Jade answers, “Azul just forgot to change back to his natural form like he was supposed to because he was too busy organising our stand at the VDC and he transformed right when he was carrying some boxes. Luckily, no one saw that slip but Floyd and I.”

“And you never stop bringing that up, I swear to the seven…” Grumbles the aforementioned. “Oh, we wouldn’t bring it up if you didn’t know we warned you and you didn’t listen.” Jade tuts. “Hmpf.”

And that’s all you hear from the two until you reach the pool, where Jade plops Azul unceremoniously into the water, earning an offended shriek from the octopus as he is dragged underwater by a greyish teal blur.

“Uhh, that’s Floyd, isn’t it? Should we do something or do we just leave them be?” “Oh, let them be, let them be, Azul can handle himself don’t worry.”

You side eye Jade as you see two blobs of colour wrestle underwater, causing water to splash and wet your shoes. “Shit, not the wet socks.” You mutter stepping aside from the pool to try to salvage the situation.

In the end, though, you decide to grab some flip-flops from the backroom and return only to see your three boyfriends staring at you from the water, two of them sporting a matching slap mark on their cheek. I guess octopi do punch or slap things when they’re mad at them, huh?

“Shrimpyyyyy, come to the pool, Azul wants to see you!” Floyd exclaims as he waves at you to come closer. And to your surprise, he does look genuinely glad to see you; a gentle smile adorning his face.

You smile as well as you approach the pool where your three boys are waiting for you, finding that you don’t care that much if you don’t make it out of there completely dry.

And you know, if that’s the price you have to pay to see your boyfriends happy and confident, so be it.

Poly twst headcanons: Octavinelle Pt 2

Date ideas:

Full octatrio: It can be hard to find activities the three of them can enjoy together (aside from blackmailing students, that is), and you probably wouldn’t enjoy the latter, so planning dates can be a bit of a tedious process.

In the end, they decided to take turns: whenever it was Jade’s turn, you four would go hiking; Floyd would take you to an Arcade, an amusement park, or the beach depending on his mood; and Azul would take you to a restaurant or a museum (don’t worry, he’ll make sure there are activities there for everyone’s tastes).

Comforting you:

Azul: He’s at loss at what to do; he could brew you a potion to lift up your mood but he somehow senses that that isn’t what you need nor want, so he gently guides you to his room so you can be somewhere quieter. He’ll offer you a glass of water if you want one after you’ve sat down (on his bed, his desk chair or the floor, depending on your sensitivity at the moment); and if you want one, he’ll fill it up right then in his bathroom’s sink. If you’re okay with touching, he’ll hold and caress your hand while he rubs your back. If not, he’ll just wait patiently until you are okay with him holding your hand. His body is colder than a regular human’s so his hold might help cool you and calm you down.

Jade: He’ll help you in his own, not weird at all, way. Instead of helping you directly, Jade will probably help you feel better on your own by silently encouraging you to do things you enjoy and take your mind off what’s troubling you. “You’re not busy, are you? Come with me then, I found some rare specimens you simply must see.”

If what you really need is to be alone, he’ll understand and simply leave you a note by your bedside (do not question how he got in and left it there) sending you his best wishes and a speedy recovery so he can see his favourite guppy again. On top of that, he’ll make sure to watch you from afar to check that you’re getting better.

Floyd: You’re in a bad mood? Wrong, you’re both in a bad mood.

Floyd is the kind of person? Mer? Who gets upset when other people are upset, so if you’re down in the dumps he is too (much to the other mers’ dismay, as now two of their partners are upset). After all, if you’re upset, you’re no fun, and he can’t tease you when you’re like that (and what the hell, he loves you, he’ll be concerned when you’re not up to your usual hijinks, what’s wrong shrimpy?).

He’ll follow you trying to see what’s wrong with you, what caused it.

If you’re like this because of someone’s comments, well let’s just say that they won’t be seen around campus anymore.

Taking care of you when you’re on your period* (for AFAB readers):

When I say they are so confused, it doesn’t even cover the half of it. What do you mean some humans bleed once or twice a month? What do you mean by that being a natural thing? And it hurts??? And you go through this every month???? W H A T? And some people hurt almost all year long??? What does endou-metrosis mean??

Azul is distressed as hell and will only calm down when he makes sure that you have everything you need and that you are comfortable, Floyd will only somewhat relax when he knows what’s going on (it’ll take a while but when he finally gets through his head that this is a normal occurrence and that you are not dying he’ll be back to his usual self), and Jade.exe has stopped working.

Just kidding. Jade, like the scientist he is, will research about periods to ensure that the octotrio is fully prepared for anything that might come their way. That includes always having pain meds, pads, tampons, and underwear stocked in their rooms so whenever you might need them, you can use them. They will act differently as well, not to belittle you or patronize you, but to make you feel more comfortable. Floyd will squeeze you less or squeeze you more around your shoulders or arms, Jade will dial down his mannerisms to a 98% and Azul will be slightly less loud.

Helping you when you feel dysphoric (congrats reader, you’ve stumbled upon a trans writer who feels like getting some fluff for themselves. Enjoy)

Azul knows first-hand what it’s like to feel uncomfortable in your own body, even if it’s for a different reason. In fact, both him and the Leech twins can relate to being on a body that feels somewhat wrong. As if there’s something that should not be where it is, something that feels out of place.

In their case, it happened when they entered Night Raven College, still unused to the feeling of having to walk on land, to breathe through their mouth and noses, to not feel cold water come in and out of their gills, to have their skins feel so dry and rigid. So when you’re having a bad day, they can somehow relate.

Again, it’s not the same, and they know, but they feel as if they can understand and help you feel more at ease.

Amongst other things, they’ll invite you to watch the Aquarium at their dorm from a private room, so you can focus on the fishes rather than your body.

They’ll also hand you clothes that might help you feel more comfortable: oversized shirt or sweater? Take one of Jade or Floyd’s; Needing wide pants? Have some of Azul’s, he has more than a dozen, made from various materials and coming in different shades of blue and grey.

Perhaps you’d like a skirt or a top? Floyd wore those for some time when he hadn’t gotten used to pants yet, you can borrow some, he has them in different sizes (some were too short for him, as when the three of them arrived on land they weren’t sure of their sizes).

They’ll do everything in their power to help you feel better, you’ll be fine under their care.

Poly twst headcanons: Octavinelle

Relationship dynamics:

Before you barged into their lives, the three of them were already together. In fact, they started dating before enrolling at Night Raven College, but they became official after Azul’s overblot, when the Leech twins saw that not hiding wasn’t enough anymore, that the other needed the “comfort” and “security” of a label.

It was, in fact, at that point, when they sat down in Azul’s office and discussed the nature of their relationship as they noticed new feelings blooming for you. The question now was, how to proceed?

Usually they’d approach the situation like they do with everything else, by squeezing every detail they could about you, finding what were your interests, motivations, tastes in men… However, this wasn’t “everything else”; this was you; a magicless land-dweller that randomly appeared in Twisted Wonderland. This was something important! They couldn’t let their chance slip!

Cue in their chaotic attempts at trying to “seduce” you.

Their flirting style:

Azul will try to persuade you into spending more time at Mostro Lounge, be it by offering you discounts, asking you to taste test a new recipe, to show you the new chairs that got mailed that morning… You get the gist.

He’ll also try his best to look as confident and polished, but sometimes his mask will slip and you’ll get a glimpse of that anxious little octopus who’s desperate for his crush’s attention.

When that happens, don’t comment on it please, he gets enough teasing from the twins; a small break would be appreciated; also, if you showed a bit of interest in his coin collection, he’d be delighted to show it to you.

Jade, on the other hand, is smooth, and eerily elegant; as if he has everything planned out t the detail and knows exactly what buttons to push to get what he wants.

That’s not to say he’ll manipulate you, no; there’s nothing in this world he hates more than a spurious relationship. In fact, to ensure your relationship is authentic as possible, he’ll very much reveal his true colours to you, showing how much of a little shit he can be, teasing you relentlessly.

Don’t worry though, if he sees that he’s crossed a line somehow, he’ll make sure to apologize in the most Jade-like fashion possible; which is to say, giving you space and showing that he understands that what he did was too much.

Note: I don’t think he’s one to directly say sorry; he comes across more as the type to give you space and being more attentive and thoughtful from then on.

Also, be prepared for impromptu mushroom gathering hikes; if you are to become their whole world, he has to show you his favourite places, his mushroom terrarium, the most spectacular routes…

When it comes to Floyd, he acts just as usual. He won’t hide his crush on you or try to act differently; in fact, he’ll be proud to announce it to the whole world by squeezing you tight (not too tight though, don’t worry) and spinning you, peppering your face with kisses and playful nibbles, or showing you his mer form at the pool. He’s very proud of it!

In fact, he’ll probably go on an in-depth tangent on the anti-aging properties of his slime, how strong he is, the fact that he can glow in the dark…

Dating him means of course that you’ll have to deal with his constant mood swings, try not to let it get to you. If he gets annoyed or looks mad at you, he’s probably going through a lot*; talk to him when he feels better.

*I do not mean to excuse mistreatment or hurtful words by saying that one should endure it because the other is hurting, that is not what I’m implying. If someone who is hurting says or does things that make you upset, talk about it, it’s important to establish boundaries between you and other people as well as respecting them.

Displays of affection/love languages

All of them love looking after you, making sure that you don’t lack anything: Have any trouble studying? Azul will take you on study dates so that you feel confident in your skills (in exchange though, you might have to participate in long cuddling sessions with our dear octopus); someone’s giving you trouble? Floyd and Jade will make sure you know how to defend yourself and how to appear more imposing (they’ll even go on an extra mile to make sure those people don’t bother you ever again, isn’t that nice?).

Azul: He’ll send kind of mixed signals; on one hand, he wants to look suave and elegant, someone capable who can take care of you, on the other one though, he wants to be cherished and taken care of. All in all, the poor mer is a bit conflicted on how to act. One thing’s for sure though! He’ll try to cuddle you as much as possible (no, you won’t be able to get up from bed before him, you may try, but it will be impossible), and when cuddling is not possible, he’ll hold your hand or link your fingers together, to feel you close.

He’ll also show you off with pride as if saying “look at them, my incredibly capable partner, look how magnificent they are!”

As said before, Floyd will be very physical when it comes to displays of affection but he’ll also give you random things that reminded him of you. Look at this cool rock I found, it’s so pretty it reminds me of you; or you look like a weird looking fish I saw the other day.

Jade, like his brother, also enjoys giving you things, mostly souvenirs from his little trips or mountain escapades (dried flowers, unique mushrooms, carved wood figures… You name it!); but he also loves hearing you talk. He’ll ask about a topic he knows you’re interested in and watch you go off for hours nodding and smiling. As for physical displays of affection, Jade is more of a private person (like Azul); but like his twin, he’ll playfully nibble you on some occasions as well as teasing you endlessly so it is you who ends up demanding kisses.

Rook falls for Vil at first sight, enraptured by that unique beauty of theirs. He finds Vil absolutely mesmerizing, and no matter how much time they’ve spent together, the other never ceases to surprise the hunter.

This man is absolutely smitten I tell you.

Vil’s gender has never been a topic to discuss; when Vil said she would do everything in her power to be the best queen Pomefiore had ever had Rook just went with it. His “Roi de Poison” enjoyed being la reine from time to time? No problem at all.

Speaking of the Pomefiore house warden, he’s in pretty bad too. Vil trusts Rook immensely, he knows the other would catch him were he to fall (which is proved right after his overblot).

After Vil’s breakdown at the VDC their relationship strains a bit though. Deep down Vil knows they can’t nor they should attempt to control what the hunter likes; after all, it was the other’s passion for life and his unbendable honesty that captivated them in the first place. However, they still feel slightly betrayed for their actions; after all, he saw the effort and strain Vil went through for the competition.

Rook, on his part, is also hurt. He knows what the other went through while preparing for the VDC but at the end of the day, he had to vote for Neige; not doing so would go against his morals, against everything the hunter was; and he knew his queen knew that. He also knew that deep down the other would have been even more upset if Rook had voted for them because they would have seen it as a pity vote; because his beloved knew that the hunter would follow his heart whenever he went, and sometimes that meant doing things they didn’t agree on.

They get better after a while of longing glances and words hanging in the air, and after making up they’re stronger than ever.

Idia’s overblot only helps to strengthen their bond. Rook’s desperate attempts to help his “Roi du Poison” shoot an arrow through Vil’s heart; causing him to kiss fervently the other when they’re finally alone from privy eyes, leaving purple all over the hunter’s body.

Their relationship dynamic can be a bit odd or unsettling for people who aren’t used to it.

Rook absolutely loves chasing his queen, and Vil is always up for a game of cat and mouse, enjoying the hunter’s attempts at catching her and rewarding him when he finally does. It’s also safe to say that the Pomefiore’s house warden also enjoys seeing her lover “hunt down” other students, specially when she knows they’ve been causing trouble.

In return, Rook lets Vil test her new poisons on him (always with the antidote nearby) as he knows she would never harm him. He enjoys the new sensations the poisons bring and the feeling of exquisite ecstasy that fills him when his queen feeds him the antidote, always followed by a spa session to relive his body from the stress it has gone through.

Vil keeps all the letters and poems their lover has written for them, as well as the flowers he used to bring them (when they started dating Rook switched from bouquets to plant seeds or cuttings so his lover could keep the plants on their garden). In fact, half of the books on Vil’s room have their pages filled with dried flowers they have put there so they don’t go bad.

In some occasions Vil has used those dried flowers on potions, crushing them and turning them into fine powder if they have useful properties.

He never lets Rook use them though, because he knows the other would use them in one of the Science club’s experiments and blow up the laboratory for the nth time (something they’ve argued over multiple times, the other explaining that there is no joy without a bit of danger while Vil tries not to get wrinkles on his face from frowning).

You can usually tell when Malleus is in a bad mood because, well, you can’t see the sun, or moon, or anything aside from dark clouds and streaks of lightning. So, when that happens, you normally try to get to him as soon as possible. He’s been through a lot; so, you feel like you should return the favour.

You always hear what he has to say and give him your opinion, an honest one always, he doesn’t want to hear any more lies to make him feel better, just the truth, and when you comfort him, you always speak your mind. On that topic, you always make sure to look straight into his eyes when you comfort him, caressing his hands or his cheek gently so he can feel that someone is there with him. So that he knows that you’re not a figment of his imagination, a piece of a dream, created by his desire to be held.

𝓖𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓸 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼:

Malleus is not the most sociable person around, mostly because people usually find him intimidating or straight up terrifying; which drives you to introduce him to your friends.

He’s obviously curious about them for numerous reasons; first of all, they have known you for years, so they’ll probably be able to help him choose presents for you, know what makes you upset, happy… Second of all, you look very happy around them, for him, it’s like you’re a sun irradiating joy (his hear melts when he sees you smile so carelessly around them, stress lines completely erased from your face).

And lastly, because they come from your world and know their way around modern technology; he asks them for help when he doesn’t want to bother you with his questions and inquiries (you seem too busy helping the Heartsabyul duo to explain how does this “Blue tooth” functions. Is it a spell to brush one’s teeth? To colour them blue? Who would like to have their teeth painted blue? And why does it seem to be in his telephone? Where does that small gadget has its mouth?)

𝓙𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓼𝔂/𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼:

Alrighty… Our lover boy here ­might be a bit overprotective. I wouldn’t say that he gets jealous often, but sometimes he treats you as if you were made from glass, which can feel a patronizing. It’s not like you don’t appreciate him taking care of you, but it can be a bit too much; so, you’ll have to tell him to back off a little when you see that he’s overreacting; like when he decided to just send everyone into a 1000 year long nap because he thought that way everyone would be happy and out of harm's way, but let's not talk about that :)

Malleus tries really hard to use his (newly acquired!) phone to contact you, but he hasn’t gotten quite used to it, he finds texting a tedious task and therefore prefers calling you or sending you letters in which he asks you about your day, Grim, your friends…

You, on turn, ask him how Lilia is doing, how is Silver and Sebek’s training progressing whether he saw and gargoyles the previous night; and now you have more than a hundred letters sitting on your bedside table.

They are filled with poems, dried flowers and thousands of very detailed sketches of grotesque stone creatures filled with explanations on their whereabouts, the kind of rock that was used to sculpt them, and curious details (see how the fangs of this magnificent creature are rounded and have almost disappeared? This means that this one is quite old, and thus shows signs of age and use. Don’t you think it’s wonderful? The many things these beings have witnessed, the time and care someone put into them?).

♡ Malleus, like the dragon (fae) he is, is very fond of collecting/hoarding small trinkets or things he finds interesting, like his “pet” Gao-Gao Drakon-kun. It comes so natural to him that he believes everyone must feel that way, so expect him to shower you with gifts at every chance he gets.

♡ He also enjoys going on long walks with you in the middle of the night (he loves seeing you ramble on about the things you are interested in); so you often find yourself joining him on a stroll in the warmer part of the botanical garden in wintertime.

On that note, if he notices that you are cold, he’ll immediately suggest going somewhere warmer or he’ll cast a spell to warm you up.

♡ As for (public) displays of affection, Malleus is the kind of man who will ask you for permission before kissing you on the lips, often kissing your hand or forehead instead. As for hugs, you and him will probably have long cuddling sessions on your couch while you watch TV or while you game/read.

𝓗𝓲𝓼 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓼:

♡ He’ll be ecstatic if you ask him about his favourite places or gargoyles, especially the latter. Hoo boy, better get ready for a lengthy lesson about them, their use, their evolution through history… You get the drill.

♡ The thing is, you can’t really stop him. I mean, look at this guy, his eyes light up every time someone shows even the slightest interest on his tastes. He’s just, so, happy. Why bother yourself with buying lightbulbs when you have a gleeful Malleus illuminating the whole room?

Speaking of which, after repeatedly telling Malleus he can come and visit you at Ramshackle whenever he wants to (as long as it’s not at an ungodly hour in the morning), he starts coming over all the time.

At first, he’ll look very awkward, just standing there in the middle of your living room, unsure what to do. Eventually though, he will warm up to his surroundings, and kind of make himself at home: popping in just to say hi; chatting with the ghosts, helping you out in the kitchen…

𝓦𝓱𝓮𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵 𝓪 𝓫𝓲𝓽 𝓭𝓸𝔀𝓷:

♡ To be honest, Malleus isn’t really good at knowing what to do or what to say when you are not doing well, but he’ll try his best because I mean, he’s going to be king, if he can’t help the one he loves, how is he going to aid his future subjects?

♡ He would usually ask Lilia for help, but because the old bat is emotionally constipated and just shrugs off his problems until people overblot , he decides to ask Trey or Deuce, as he knows you three get along.

♡ For the most part he’ll just hold your hand and draw circles on your back (if you are feeling like it) while he softly whispers reassurances in your ear. He doesn’t mind having to repeat words of encouragement over and over if it means that someday, you’ll believe them. After all, you have helped him numerous times, so what kind of person (?) would he be if he just left you suffering like that?

Housewarden: Riddle Rosehearts

Riddle is very particular about his food. Aside from mantaining a very regular and strict diet (with its sweet exceptions, of course) by only choosing to eat what he (his mother) has deemed as healthy and nutritious; he has found out he hates certain textures or the combination of some textures. He hates, for example, anything that is remotely slimy or gelatinous, or mushy textures.

He's extremely weirded out by bubble tea. Why is it called bubble tea, there are no bubbles here! These are not bubbles, they're tapioca pearls. It should be called pearl tea! (He is also weirded out by the texture).

He likes how his heels make hem seem a bit taller and help him stand upright even though he dislikes the potentially negative effects they have on his spine. Which is why he stretches every day to make sure his back and feet don't resent him when he gets old.

Riddle adores Heartstabyul's hedgehogs, he thinks they are the cutest thing in the world (he'll never say that directly though).

He has been trying to improve his baking skills since the whole oyster sauce fiasco. And while he's on that, he's also been trying to relax a bit more and take it easy; something really important when baking, because things don't always turn out how you want them to (it's been a journey to say the least).

Vice-housewarden: Trey Clover

When Trey lears from Ace that Sebek's dad is a dentist he lowkey (highkey) loses his shit

Dentistry is just so interesting to him.

At firts glance he might look a bit psychotic when talking about him but he's really just fascinated by teeth. Like, these are bones that you can see, that have very different shapes and functions, all of which you use to ground up food. Oh, and when you're around 6 or 7 they start falling out only to be replaced by sturdier ones. How wild is that?

He's a fairly responsible person tbh. He takes rules more like a guideline but he's much more flexible than Riddle. He's usually in charge of making sure that newbies follow the dorm's rules (he usually makes sure they are technically following the rules without needing to put a lot of effort into it).

Trey loves Riddle as if he was his little brother (ever since he met his mom, he's sworn to himself to defend Riddle against what might come and to be there for him).

He has a sibling-like relation with Che'nya as well.

Except it's more of a "you're the most annoying person in this whole universe but I still love you."

Che'nya put that brush down you're spilling paint e v e r y w h e r e.

With Cater it's more like a best friend/friend relationship. Both understand each other well, and he knows the other is a very reliable dude in general (except when talking about chores).

He's the one he turns to after Riddle's overblot because he needs someone he can talk to who can uderstand just what he went through (he's exhausted from having to explain what happened to his family, Che'nya, his teachers...); he just wants to rest for a second.

Can handle exhaustion pretty well and can mask tiredness as well but when he knows he has to take a break he does. He will push himself a bit, but if he has to rest, he'll make sure everything's alright so he can take a nap or just chill in his room.

(Un)official social media manager: Cater Diamond

Cater has freckles, something he's a bit (a lot) insecure about bc he thinks they make him look unpolished and childish, so he always makes sure to wear bb cream or concealer to cover them and avoid getting more.

No one really gets it, and some of them have even gone out of their way to tell him that they're nothing to be ashamed of: from Trey telling him that he looks fine either way (and that they make him stand out from the crowd in a good way); to Riddle pulling up a presentation on why freckles are a natural thing and nothing to worry about but do be careful with sun exposure as having freckles can increase your risk of skin cancer and-

I know this is already canon and confirmed but I'd like to reiterate that this man is the opposite of an airhead. He might act a bit delusional sometimes but he knows what he's doing and he knows how to be professional online

He doesn't like studying, as he finds it a pain to spend hours memorizing stuff when he would be rather doing it.

I picture Cater as someone who would rather do presentations and practical stuff instead of 3-hour long text exams, as he finds stuff easier to actually memorize if he can do it.

His guilty pleasure? Staying up until past midnight on the weekends to watch any shitty soap opera while eating the most spicy noodles he was able to get at the convenience store. -he's probably the one responsible for teaching the other cards how to do their makeup.

ace trappola

Can’t say he’s surprised, just disappointed. It makes sense; he was one of your first friends. However, that doesn’t make him any less troublesome. Despite being a first-year, Ace is one of the biggest slackers and troublemakers on campus— much to Trein’s dismay. His main worry is that Ace will poorly influence you. He’s already seeing it with the two of you getting a crazy amount of detentions and scoldings for unthinkable reasons. You’ve got it rough already being from another world, you don’t need a devil on your shoulder convincing you to get into all kinds of trouble. It’s a real shame said devil is your boyfriend. He’ll allow the relationship and all will seem swell. Little do you know that he pulled Ace aside and had a long chat.

deuce spade

A fine pick; Trein is neither severely impressed nor disappointed. He doesn’t think Deuce is too bad, but he believes you could do better. Deuce will need to somehow prove himself to Trein. On the outside, Trein looks like he absolutely hates his guts. His eyes are always staring at Deuce with this sharp look and it gets the card soldier real nervous real fast. In reality, it’s just Trein keeping a closer eye on him + his RBF. He’s relatively neutral on the first year, yet Deuce is fully convinced that his professor wants to set him on fire.

cater diamond

Trein is very annoyed with your choice. He doesn’t like Cater’s social media addiction and would much rather have you hit the books than scrolling through Magicam. Not to mention, he feels as though something about Cater’s happy-go-lucky attitude is a facade, and doesn’t trust him around you. Cater finds Trein scary, but he’s not as intimidated as Deuce. As he does with Ace, Trein takes Cater to have a talk, and—surprisingly— his opinions on the third year improve. He doesn’t fully like him, but he’ll tolerate Cater more so than beforehand. Cater also offers to help Trein make a social media account; it’s cute yet chaotic all the same watching them bond.

Before Trein can form a solid thought on Trey, the vice housewarden is subtly trying to win his favor. Trey knows how about his father-like connection to you and immediately shapes up. He gifts Trein different pastries and learns which ones he’s partial to. What really wins the professor over is when Trey starts volunteering to help clean his classroom after class. Trein won’t even know the two of you are already together and he’ll make comments around you like, “That Clover boy is real nice…” Needless to say, Trein approves of Trey long before he finds out you both are in a relationship.

riddle rosehearts

Trein immediately scowls when he hears the news of your relationship. You’d think he’d approve due to Riddle’s intellect and dutiful behavior. Admittedly, Trein does like that about Riddle. But he despises the boy’s bursts of anger, finding them childish and unfitting for a future mage. He’s seen the housewarden go berserk on one too many students and doesn’t trust he won’t do the same to you. Trein doesn’t want you walking on eggshells around your own partner. This is another one who’ll have to prove themselves to Trein. Riddle will be upset when he hears of Trein’s low opinion of him, but gets a surge of motivation to convince him otherwise. You’ll find Riddle working even harder on his studies than before you didn’t even think that was possible in hopes of gaining Trein’s favor. He’ll eventually get it. I imagine that Riddle does some small, heroic deed for you that really shows his love, and Trein just so happens to be passing by and sees it. Once your unofficial official father in Twisted Wonderland gets along with Riddle, expect to be nagged about missing assignments and homework a WHOLE LOT.

jack howl

Similar to Trey, he immediately knows about your bond with Trein. Instead of trying to win over the professor, Jack takes a more blunt approach. He goes straight to his desk after class and tells him about your relationship, being upfront about his feelings towards you. Trein respects it. He thinks that Jack has more guts than most on campus and trusts him to protect you. He’s quite supportive of the relationship, acting as a mentor for the both of you. You can catch him watching the two of you with a tiny smile, murmuring something along the lines of, “Young love.” The two of you remind him of his own marriage with his late wife. It makes him sentimental in a way.

ruggie bucchi

A BIG 180 FROM JACK. Trein thinks this guy is sleazy. Ruggie couldn’t care less in the beginning, finding it funny to practically hang off your shoulder while Trein stared daggers into him. Then it started to seep in that it may or may not be important to get Trein’s approval for a long-term relationship with you. That’s when he gets his act together and completely starts sucking up to Trein. He’ll help out with paperwork, errands, cleaning up, etc! All for free! much to his dismay All Ruggie asks for in return is Trein’s support for your relationship. He catches Trein by surprise with how well his work ethic is. The lengths the hyena goes to for you ends up leaving the professor impressed.

leona kingscholar

Professor Trein is both surprised and disappointed. Now how did this happen? He didn't think Kingscholar was capable of being nice to anyone, let alone get into a whole relationship. Well, he bugs you to tell your boyfriend to start showing up to class. He’s not exactly happy with you dating a huge slacker like him, but Trein knows that Leona is a smart boy. Brash and not his first pick, sure, but he wouldn’t play with your heart or rope you into anything stupid. He trusts Kingscholar to protect you. But if he starts seeing you begin to skip class— which is going to happen, Leona’s going to make you do it at least once— he’ll pull YOU aside and give you an earful. Tough love, unfortunately.

floyd leech

Hell no. All the red blaring flags. Now why would you go and do that? Really? Out of EVERYONE? You bet your bottoms Trein is actively speaking out against your relationship every single time he sees you. He doesn't even want to try to talk to Floyd. Trein is convinced you are addicted to getting in trouble and lets out the biggest old man sigh. Is there any way Floyd can win the professor’s favor? Probably not. And if there was a way, would Floyd even do it? Big fat no. Floyd thinks it is hilarious that Professor Trein disapproves, upping his affections around him with that toothy grin of his. And if you guys have a class together that Trein teaches? Chaos. Expect a lot of paper balls to be thrown at you.

“Are you okay??” Is the first thing Trein asks when you tell him you and Jade are in a relationship. Doesn't exactly trust the boy, but Jade tends to behave around him. The professor has always seen him being picture-perfect whenever he’s around which is 100% suspicious, but Trein doesn't have any solid reasons to disapprove. Jade, like his brother, finds the whole situation very amusing. He’s always figuring out new ways to appear like the ‘ideal boyfriend’ to Trein. If he ever talks to the professor he’ll slip in a comment like, “I never disappoint, trust me” and it makes Trein distrust him even more.

azul ashengrotto

Now what bet did you lose for this to have happened? At least Ashengrotto is a star student, you need to hang out around more of those in his opinion. After confirming that, “No, no bet was lost,” and “No, he’s not paying for my love,” Trein was pretty alright with it. The Monstro Lounge is a student-ran organization, it's clear from that the young boy is capable and responsible. He just keeps a very, very close eye on you two. The last thing Trein wants is for Azul to take advantage of you since— knowing him— he seems like the type to do so. Expect frequent questions of “How’s your relationship going?” and “He’s treating you right, right?” Azul is going to get asked to stay after class to talk. Trein then proceeds to threaten lecture him on how to properly treat your lover. He just wants to make sure you don't get wrapped up in one of those contracts he’s heard about. Azul has quite the track record.

kalim al asim

Automatically assumes you’re dating him for the money and begins to ramble about how you should marry for love. Tells you about his late wife and how much he loved her— it is so sweet I'm actually crying. That's the kind of love he wants you to have. You’ve got to reassure him that, “Yes, my certified father figure, I do love him very much and I’m not just in it for the money.” After that talk, he finds the relationship sweet but kind of concerning. Kalim is a nice boy but severely naive and, frankly, incompetent. Trein starts to go a little harder on Kalim in class, not that he was going easy anyway. He scrutinizes the essays he turns in and chastises him for missing an assignment. As he watches you kiss Kalim on the cheek after getting an A, Trein can only sigh and think, “He’s lucky he’s rich.”

jamil viper

Trein’s pretty okay with him. He’s a level-headed guy with passable grades and the title of a vice housewarden. However, the professor did hear about his Overblot and does think that there's more beneath the surface. He doesn't judge him for his Overblot, no. But Trein does keep a closer eye on him to make sure he isn't scheming anything involving you. The professor also tries to push him to do better academically. He’s heard from you about how smart Jamil truly is and can see his potential, so he tries to get him to stop holding back. Jamil is a little appreciative of it and respects Trein as your father figure, but still isn't a fan of sticking out. Nor does he plan on giving into Trein’s attempts.

epel felmier

Is fine with the relationship at first. He was polite, soft-spoken, and a part of Pomfiore. Most students belonging to that dorm are pompous, but respectful nonetheless. Then Epel’s true nature comes out and Trein is constantly reprimanding him for horseplay. It's kinda funny how surprised Trein is by Epel’s country toughness. The professor definitely had his suspicions— nobody at NRC is innocent, he’s learned every student here has some sort of dark side— but he definitely wouldn't have expected this. A part of Trein actually prefers him like this. You are dating someone with a backbone who will defend you. He encourages Epel to be himself around him, promising a judgment-free area. They get along pretty well surprisingly, with Trein being a sort of mentor to him. Overall, very sweet and Trein approves.

In the most blunt way possible, Trein tells you, “Your boyfriend weirds me out.” He thinks Rook is an oddball for sure. No way around it. Is half convinced Rook is stalking him. Because he is. When you explained to your boyfriend about the bond you had with Professor Trein, he got way too intrigued and ended up ‘watching’ Trein like he does to Leona. It's not until the professor makes a passing comment about being paranoid that he’s being watched that you realized, “Oh shit my boyfriends stalking you.” You don't say that to him— you don't want Rook getting in trouble. So you settle on having a really long talk with Rook about it who reassures you he’d never disturb your father figure or the absolutely beautiful bond between the two of you. He still worries you sometimes when he goes missing and randomly reappears by walking out of Trein’s classroom.

vil schoenheit

Trein worries that Vil won’t make the time for you. He’s aware that Schoenheit is a busy boy as he’s missed his class plentiful in the past. He’ll make Vil stay after class for a little to talk to him about it, giving him a fatherly warning about being ready to fully commit to a relationship and the time it takes to manage one. Vil is, admittedly, insulted that Trein doubts his ability to wholeheartedly love you but takes it in stride. He sees this as a sign to up his game in the romance department and properly does so, dedicating more time to pampering you. The professor expresses his concerns to his coworker, Crewel, who talks his ear off about how much of a “good pup” Vil is and that he won't disappoint. Trein can’t help but agree when he spots you walking into class looking more freshened with slight makeup on and a new hair-do that Vil definitely did for you.

Once you break the news to Trein, he immediately asks to meet with Idia one-on-one. The blue-haired student rarely shows up to class! And that iPad isn't going to cut it forever! He needs to be able to size him up in person. Idia, naturally, is scared to death. At first, he immediately declines, insisting that they don't really need to meet up, the whole idea is stupid, and it’ll be fine if he stays right there in his room. Then you sit down with him and tell him how important Trein is to you and… sigh You landed a natural 20 on the dice of persuasion. Idia can’t believe he's doing this. You’re beside him the whole time as he stutters in front of Trein. Is Trein impressed? No, not at all. Yet your confidence in the Shroud and constant praise is reassuring. The professor’s going to make you force Idia into showing up in person in class. His attendance rivals Leona's.

sebek zigvolt

Doesn't really care for Sebek despite the first year's desperate attempts at trying to impress him. Sebek lost him after he started talking about Malleus when Trein asked about you. Ever since then, it’s just been him trying to win him back to no prevail. Kinda sad to watch. He’ll be the biggest gentleman ever: rushing to doors to open them for Trein, scrubbing his whole classroom for him from top to bottom, and yelling at other students to be quiet— though he was pretty much doing that before you two even got together. But every time Sebek gets close to winning the professor’s favor, he ends up going on a tangent about how amazing his liege is, and we're back at square one. You’ve got to rub him on the back and kiss him on the cheek while telling him, “Trein will come around one day!” Even if that day never comes.

silver

Not a fan. He’s witnessed Silver fall asleep in his class one too many times and thinks it's disrespectful. Once you tell Silver, he’s upset as it's not exactly something he can change, but will put in extra effort not only in Trein’s class but in all his classes. He studies with you beside him so you can prevent him from falling asleep when you see him get all drowsy-eyed. Trein immediately takes note of Silver’s hard work and grit as the boy passes his class with flying colors while asking if there’s anything he could do to help him after hours. It's only when he hears from his fellow teachers that Silver has been doing exceptionally well is he actually impressed. Afterwards, Trein will start being more understanding of Silver’s constant sleeping. He won't be any less strict, but he won’t lay into him for it as hard as before since learning it's out of Silver’s control. Trein thinks rather positively of your relationship, comparing it to the ones in the fairytales.

lilia vanrouge

A bit disturbed, to say the least. Lilia is older than him after all. Trein tried to keep a close eye on the two of you, but Lilia always caught him and pursued a staring match. Trein was always the first to look away. Lilia finds it entertaining. He tries to play tiny tricks on the professor, but you stop him at the very last minute. You sit down and try to explain that you deeply care about Trein and, by extension, what Trein thinks of him. Lilia proceeded to suggest that he brings Trein some cookies to win him over to which you immediately say no. Honestly, I don’t see Trein really ever warming up to Lilia. He just pretends the old bat doesn't exist and isn't your boyfriend. Lilia finds that incredibly funny while you're dying inside.

malleus draconia

The fact you were able to get close to the Draconia is an impressive feat to Trein. However, future ruler of Briar Valley or not, he intends to make sure that Malleus treats you right. Right when you tell Malleus that Trein is basically your father, the fae goes straight to the professor, confesses to him about your relationship, and swears to take good care of you with this ominous tone. Trein isn’t very fond of Malleus at first, struggling to decipher whether or not that introduction was genuine. It isn't until you go to him after class, gushing about the late-night walk you went on with Malleus yesterday and shoving cute little polaroid photos in his face does Trein begin to trust the fae. He makes sure to scold you for not being asleep at that time, yes, but he stares at one of the photographs for way too long, imagining you and Malleus as him and his late wife for a moment. A small smile appears on his face. However, he can’t help but think that the two of you are down a similar path; the happiest marriage ever, kids, and one lover outliving the other. A tragedy, but he’ll let you enjoy it while it lasts just like he did. As long as you’re happy.
