Prince Felipe traveled to Costa Rica between May 7 and 8, 2014 to attend the inauguration of the President-elect, Luis Guillermo Solís

Don Felipe, who traveled accompanied by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America, Jesús Gracia, and the General Director for Ibero-America, Pablo Gómez de Olea, was received upon arrival at the Juan Santamaría Airport in San José, Costa Rica by the Spanish ambassador to Costa Rica, Elena Madrazo; the first vice president of Costa Rica, Alfio Pira, and the administrative vice minister of Foreign Relations of Costa Rica, Luis Fernando Salazar.

From the airport, His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias went to the Barceló San José Palacio Hotel, where he was received by the President-elect of the Republic of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solís; the First Lady, Mercedes Peñas, and their daughters Mónica, Cristina, Beatriz and Inés. Then, Don Felipe attended a breakfast offered by the President-elect, which was attended by the Spanish Ambassador of Spain to Costa Rica, the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America, and the Director General for Ibero-America. On the Costa Rican side, the First Lady was present; the designated minister of Foreign Relations and Worship, Manuel González; the designated minister of the Presidency, Melvin Jiménez, and the designated minister of National Planning and Economic Policy, Olga Marta Sánchez.

After the breakfast, His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias moved to the Presidential House, where he had a meeting with the outgoing President, Laura Chinchilla, and in which the Spanish ambassador to Costa Rica, the Secretary of State of International and Ibero-American Cooperation and the Director General for Ibero-America, together with the Costa Rican Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Worship and of Communication.

At noon, Don Felipe attended a lunch at the Residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Costa Rica with prominent personalities in different areas of Costa Rican society, among whom were the director of the National Theater of Costa Rica, Adriana Collado; the poet and translator Luis Chaves; the executive director of the Business Association for Development, Silvia Lara; the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Fernando Ocampo; the economic journalist of the newspaper “El Financiero” Gilda González; the businessman in the food sector Marco Cercone; the Afro-Latin American policy of the Empsy Campbell Citizen Action Party; film director, producer and screenwriter Hilda Hidalgo; the legislative advisor and development consultant José Aguilar and the legislative adviser specialist in environmental law and designated vice minister of the Presidency, Ana Gabriel Zúñiga.

In the afternoon, at the Barceló San José Palacio Hotel, His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias offered a reception to a representation of Spanish citizens residing in Costa Rica.

The day ended with a cocktail offered by the outgoing President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, to the Heads of State and heads of delegation attending the inauguration, held at the National Museum - emblematic place of the abolition of the Army in Costa Rica by President Figueres; in 1948 it ceased to be a barracks to become a Mueso, today dedicated to pre-Columbian culture.

His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias began the day on May 8, with a briefing with the Mexican delegation, attended by the Secretary of Foreign Relations of Mexico, José Antonio Meade Kuribreña; the undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of Mexico, Vanessa Rubio Márquez; the Ibero-American Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan; the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America, Jesús Gracia, and the general director for Ibero-America, Pablo Gómez de Olea. During the meeting, among other topics, the preparations for the next Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in the Mexican city of Veracruz, on December 8 and 9, 2014, were discussed.

Subsequently, Don Felipe moved to the National Stadium, La Sabana Metropolitan Park, where he attended the Solemn Session of the Transmission of the Presidential command for the Constitutional Period 2014-2018.

At noon, at the Cultural Center for Arts and Technology "La Aduana", a lunch was held by the President of Costa Rica and the First Lady to the Heads of State and heads of delegations attending the inauguration, at whose term Don Felipe undertook his return to Spain.

Since the deluge of SKAM remakes have started, I have had to keep track of a number of different sites/english translations/playlists/character names, so I’m condensing all the information I have into one post for ease of use as a resource.

If you’re totally new here, all of them are based off of the original Norwegian version. Skam = shame in Norwegian. There were 4 seasons. California Armenian Legislative Caucus announces essay and visual arts scholarship winners

Asbarez – The California Armenian Legislative Caucus announced the winners of this year’s 2021 California Armenian Legislative Caucus’ Scholarship.    The California Armenian Legislative Caucus has worked hard this year to advocate and participate in educational and governmental efforts in California and awarded six scholarships to California high school students who entered essay and arts contests.    The Caucus continues to strive to educate Californians on Armenian American issues and celebrate the achievements of Armenian Americans in California. 

Earlier this year the Armenian Caucus invited California high school students to participate in its Annual Essay Contest. Students were asked to write a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, urging that Facebook take the same course of action against denial and distorted posts regarding the 1915 Armenian Genocide as they have with the Holocaust.  

Essay Contest Winners First-prize, $1,000: Alex Santiago attending Walnut High School in Walnut, CA.  Second-prize, $750: Kyleen Lin attending Clovis North High School in Fresno, CA.  Third-prize, $500: Michael Karapetyan attending Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, CA.     This year’s theme was “Human to Human Interaction.” Submission types were limited to drawings, paintings, photographs, digital illustrations, and graphic design.    Visual Arts Scholarship Winners  First-prize, $1,000: Lina Lee attending Milpitas High School in Milpitas, CA.  Second-prize, $750: Sophie Ludes attending Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta, CA.  Third-prize, $500: Daniella Brewer attending Tulare Western High School in Tulare, CA.

New deals highlight Finca Cortesin commitment to women’s golf

Finca Cortesin Hotel, Golf & Spa, host venue of the 2023 Solheim Cup, has further enhanced its position at the forefront of women’s golf in Spain and Europe by finalising new 12-month sponsorship agreements with Ladies European Tour stars Noemi Jiménez and Laura Gómez.

¡Deniro vuelven a la carga!

Sí, era un regreso anunciado; dos EPs digitales y dos videoclips publicados en los últimos cuatro meses así lo atestiguan, pero al escuchar este nuevo álbum estamos convencidos de que tomaréis conciencia de que esta nueva etapa es algo así como un nuevo renacer.

Grandes riffs de guitarra, potentes bases rítmicas y buenos estribillos, de eso que cuestan sacarse de la cabeza, conforman los temas de este nuevo disco para el cual, Nano Ruíz, guitarrista y alma mater de la banda, se ha acompañado de un magnífico grupo. Esto es lo que él mismo dice de ellos:

Javi Lisón, guitarra solista: Javi es especial… Fue el primero al que escogí en esta nueva etapa y estuvimos trabajando solos mucho tiempo. Le estoy muy agradecido por confiar en las canciones que le iba enseñando, las ha hecho suyas y ha aportado su magia.

Mr. Ruíz, Tanke Ruíz, voz: La fuerza de ese apodo herencia del fútbol es justificada, así es su torrente vocal y así es él de echado adelante, un currante nato. Espalda con espalda hemos trabajado en el local, las melodías, las letras y ha hecho suya la marca de Deniro.

Dani Fernández, batería: Dani es la contundencia con swing que ha aportado a las canciones ese excelente latido. Su entrega y su determinación por hacerlo bien con el poco tiempo que tuvo para preparar el disco ha sido clave, es un brillante batería.

Álvaro Tenorio, bajo: La aportación de mi amigo ha sido decisiva en este disco, he sufrido para conseguir miembros en esta etapa y cuando me dijo SI, respiré hondo y supe que iba a tener al mejor bajista posible. Su fabulosa forma de crear y tocar ha engrandecido los temas.

Y por si eso no era suficiente, De las cenizas a la gloria cuenta también con la colaboración de amigos tan artísticamente variados pero con tanto nivel como MARS (Habeas Corpus, Riot Ptopaganda), Kelo Gamboa (Dremen), Zigor DZ (Esne Beltza), Marta Ruíz (Sex Museum), Laura Rubio (Garage Jack), Adrián García Riber (Dry Sea Whales), los guitarristas José Castro Jopi y Jorge Salán o Dave Gómez (quien estivo en Deniro) es una etapa anterior y hoy en día forma parte de Evohé.

El envoltorio del proyecto musical, es también parte importante, y no podemos dejar de destacar el cuadro que da forma a la portada, obra de Marta Gómez-Pintado.
