So, yeah...I said I thought i might have torn my hip labrum. Seems as though abnormal is normal for me, and that detached feeling isn't just a feeling. That shit really isn't attached, at MULTIPLE points of the socket.

This isn't good news. I'm not sure what the next step is, as I have to wait for the Dr's office to call me and then for an orthopedic dr to see me, and then who knows. ("Don't Google your diagnosis" but you know I did it anyway and it says I'm looking at a surgery no matter what...and quite a few people I talked to said it looked like I was headed for hip replacement.)

it's   funny   to   think   how   long   they've   come   to   know   one   another   ,   because   it   feels   like   he's   known   carol   for pretty much all   his   life.   sometimes   mason   thinks   about   what   it   might   have   been   like   if   he   did   know   carol   when   he   was   younger   ,   if   they   would   have   been   just   as   close   as   they   are   now   &   if   she   would   have   gotten   along   with   all   his   theatre   friends.   so   many   thoughts   enter   his   mind   as   they   lounge   out   on   the   roof   of   his   apartment   building   ,   watching   the   sun   set   on   a   pair   of   cheap   patio   chairs   ,   sitting   &   enjoying   the   silence   for   just   a   moment together.   for   two   people   who   love   to   chat a bunch   ,   its   rare   to   have   them   be   so   silent   when   sitting   side by side   ,   but   that's   the   great   thing   about   good   friendships   ,   right   ?   being   able   to   sit   with   someone   you   love   &   care   for   &   share   a   comfortable   silence   where   you   don't   have   to   say   much   at   all.   mason   sighs   ,   hands   folded   on   his   stomach   ,   turning   to   look   at   carol   for   a   brief   moment   &   wonder   what   she   may   be   thinking   about. anything could be going on in that brilliant mind of hers , but he won't pry her about it now. if she wants to , she'll tell him when she's ready.

silence   continues   on   for   a   few   minutes   longer   before   carol   finally   speaks   up   ,   surprising   mason   with   what   she   has   to   say.   ❝   maybe   it’s   silly   ,   but   .   .   .   i   know   there   is   somebody   out   there   for   me.   ❞   clearly   she   had   been   thinking   extensively   about   this   for   a   while   now   ,   maybe   even   longer   than   they   have been sitting   here   on   the   rooftop.   there   is   no   doubt   that   carol   is   a   beautiful   woman   &   anyone   would   be   lucky   to   have   her   as   their   partner.   of   course   ,   mason   understands   better   than   anyone   that   the   dating   scene   is   not   exactly   easy   or   attractive   when   wading   through   those   dangerous   waters   ,   &   sometimes   it's   hard   to   push   yourself   to   muddle   through   all   that   mess   to   hopefully   find   the   right   person   after   a   while.   carol   sounds   hopeful   when   she   speaks   &   mason   absolutely   thinks   its   possible for her.   without   another   word   ,   mason   reaches   for   her   hand   &   squeezes   it   gently   ,   a   gentle   smile   directed   her   way   as   the   sun   slowly   fades   away   from   view   ,   the   evening   finally   pouring   in   over   the   san   francisco   sky.   ❝   it's   not   silly   ,   ❞   mason   assures   ,   giving   her   hand   another   gentle   squeeze.   ❝   there   definitely   is.   &   when   you   find   them   ?   you're   gonna   make   their   lives   absolutely   complete.   i   mean   ,   you   complete   mine   just   by   being   my   friend.   you're   bound   to   give   that   same   happiness   to   someone   you   love   romantically.   i   believe   that   .   .   .   hell , i   know   that.   you'll   find   your   soulmate   one   day   ,   carol   &   they   better   be   good   to   you   ,   or   they'll   have   to   answer   to   me , okay ?   ❞
