It seems apparent that the transformation device that hijacks its possessor leaves its victims with no memory of the time they were under its control.
At least it doesn’t kill them when it’s done with them.

Never have I ever; trope, laser-guided amnesia
By Laser-Guided Amnesia, I'm assuming you mean some kind of mnemosurgery. lol
So yes! I have THREE. And all of them Transformers. I don't think I have any amnesia fic that's non-TF.
Anamnesis
All kinds of trash gets tossed in the Heap, but when Hot Rod finds a barely-alive Empurate, he can’t leave the mech to die. Without his memory, Megs has no place to go, so Hot Rod offers him a place to call home. It’s meant to be temporary, but Hot Rod never expected wanting so badly for Megs to stay. (Hot Rod/Megatron)
One Wish
Sunstreaker knew there was no point in living in the past. But the future wasn’t looking any brighter. Not for him. Not for Sideswipe. And not for anyone else living here on the edge of Uraya’s Wastes. (Sunstreaker/Prowl)
Dear Lies
It starts, as horrors are known to do, with the little things. (Ratchet/Jazz)

In "A Sword, a Demon and a Princess", Asuna forgets the day when she was kidnapped by the Demon Lord and her bodyguard as well as his sword spirit due to a curse. Tho it starts to crumble during the fight and she starts slowly remembering Kazuto. As soon the demon's spell is broken, she regains her memories completely.

For the grade a fanfiction trope if you want to :
Soulmate au
Friends to lovers
Friends to ennemis to lovers
Amnesia
Soulmate AU: F. Really not my thing.
Friends to lovers: B. I like better when it's short.
Friends to enemies to lovers: A. Yes yes yes!
Amnesia: C. It's not exactly a question of writer, but of context. I'm squicked hard by Alzheimer stories, while I'm potentially interested by magical laser-guided amnesia.

task one : character statistics ( bogum )
BASIC INFORMATION
FULL NAME: hwang bogum.
MEANING: in korean, bogum's name means ' precious sword' ( fitting ) while his nickname, bom, means spring.
ALIAS/NICKNAMES: bom.
DATE OF BIRTH, AGE & ZODIAC: march 9th / thirty - seven / pisces.
GENDER, PRONOUNS, ORIENTATION: nonbinary / he - they - it / bisexual.
SPECIES: vrajiit ( sound negation ).
( IF VRAJIIT ) POWER MANIFESTATION : how does your ability activate, how do you usually utilise it? the ability is mainly activated by bogum’s focus and gaze when it comes to silencing areas and people that aren’t himself, focusing on areas and people --during combat he might also reach for his adversaries’ necks in order to mainly play a bit of a mind game and make them think it’s a contact activated gift. if he has to silence himself --make himself unhearable in his movements and voice-- then for that his focus is more than enough.
( IF VRAJIIT ) POWER LIMITATIONS : what are some negative drawbacks of using said abilities on your body? does it drain your mentally or physically and if so, what are the intervals between each use? when it comes to area, there are clear spatial limitations, and the bigger the area he needs to cover, the more energy he’s forced to spend --and it’s just inconvenient especially if it’s an area he hasn’t scouted before, as it wouldn’t be able to effect the environment properly. same goes with the amount of people he can silence --with big groups it’s just a waste of energy and an increasing scope of failure, as his abilty can only encompass a small group ( 5 - 6 people max ) due to the amount of focus he needs to deploy.
BACKGROUND
OCCUPATION: personal assassin of the current hand of the king, kassian valora.
RELIGIOUS VIEW: atheist, or rather, he only believes in the divine of death, the only supreme being that truly shows its touch regardless of faction and wealth ; previous to his amnesia, he was a believer of the gods of old like his family used to.
EDUCATION: high ; the hwang family used to be very high class and made sure all of their children received proper education ( basic writing and reading to begin with, then other important subjects ) and that those who developed gifts were sent to the academy as per usual. bogum was no exception.
PLACE OF BIRTH / RESIDENCE: transnavda / iarna keep.
FAMILY MEMBERS: lord hwang ( father, deceased ) ; lady hwang ( mother, deceased ) ; two older brothers and one younger brother ( all deceased except for one / wc )
ALLEGIANCES: kassian valora.
STANCE: as the hand’s loyal blade, all he cares about is in committing to his master’s orders excellently ; his own personal opinions, when not outright nonexistent, were still not relevant and do not hinder his efficiency in committing to his lord’s commands.
APPEARANCE
FACE CLAIM: lee joongi.
HAIR / EYE: black / black.
HEIGHT / BUILD: of average height ( 1.70m ), with a fairly built and athletic figure due to both his status as former vrajiit army soldier and his job requiring him to remain well trained and responsive.
SPEECH: very blunt and direct, his speech pattern tends to be the complete opposite of most members of the iarna keep inhabitants --his vocabulary tends to be simple and without much embellishments, and lacks of a noticeable accent.
MARKINGS: none.
SCARS: scars are to be expected from an ex soldier turned assassin, so his body holds several of them of varying age ; the most prominent scar bogum has is the gash on his face’s left side, taking over his eye and upper cheek and usually covered by intricate masks and eyepatches.
TATTOOS / PIERCINGS: just one earring on his left side, composed of three black obsidian pearls and a diamond shaped gem of black quartz at the end.
BEAUTY HABITS: none, really. he just tries to keep himself as relatively clean as possible. his own is a thankless job where there’s no time to indulge in prettiness.
PERSONALITY
TROPES: laser - guided amnesia, the stoic, tomato in the mirror, disproportionate retribution, quieter than silence.
INSPIRATIONS : wang so ( scarlet heart ) ; onikiri ( onmyoji ).
MBTI TYPE : intj - t.
ENNEAGRAM : type6, the loyalist.
TEMPERAMENT : phlegmatic.
ALIGNMENT : lawful evil.
ELEMENT : fire.
HOGWARTS HOUSE : gryffindor ( pre amnesia ) ; slytherin ( current ).
VIRTUES : loyalty.
VICES : apathy.
HABITS: walking around without being heard, much to kassian’s chagrin.
HOBBIES: not really having any, he guesses that keeping track of his training weapon wise and ‘giving lessons’ to those who unfortunately fail under his gaze can be seen as a hobby.

Kaze - Character Tropes
[A thing I compiled for fun for my portrayal of Kaze and all my headcanons. There is so much stuff on TVTropes that I may keep adding as I go. He does have a page on it but it's lackluster for my taste XD but here it is.]
[Putting all this crap under a read more cuz that is long.]
Purpose-Driven Immortality / Regenerative Immortality - as long as the prophecy holds and Chaos still exists, Kaze cannot die. When his body is killed, he comes back through regeneration, centered on the Magun.
Soul Jar - the Magun, specifically, his heart that had been transplanted into it and bound him to the Gun Dragon sealed in the Demon Weapon. The vial is warded by very potent magic - supposedly, only another Unlimited has the power to break it.
Touched by Vorlons - granted immortality by Bahamut, the Gun Dragon, upon being accepted as Magun's prophecized perfect wielder - Unlimited.
Cybernetic Mythical Beast - the Gun Dragon and how he came to be - made from the slain Bahamut's corpse and infused with tech, animated by his still-living soul. As such, all Summon Spirits that come from the Gun Dragon and his Magun are also biomechanical in nature.
Dracolich - Gun Dragon is technically undead, while also reinforced with machinery to create a "perfect Weapon". He's forged from parts of his own corpse, bones showing through such as the arms, legs, exposed spine.
Draconic Abomination - Gun Dragon.
Dragons are Divine - Gun Dragon as the Windarian God of Destruction - the title gets passed on to Kaze as his chosen and vessel. Also War God.
BFG - Magun is fucking massive.
Bling-Bling-Bang! - Magun seems to be made of gold, but is really composed of an unidentified alien metal. Shiny tho.
He Who Hunts Monsters - fanatical levels of obsession with hunting everything Chaotic. (His title of choice being literally the Hunter of Chaos, Hunter for friends.) Definitely partially a personal vendetta - his whole world was devoured and his own mind was ripped nigh to shreds - but also a purpose felt strongly through the connection with Magun/Gun Dragon, a Demon Weapon forged specifically to combat Chaos that activates only at its scent, pre-repaired verse. Almost leads to a Van Helsing Hate Crime against Ai and Yu - luckily, Kaze is not that merciless and spares the kids for wanting to live as humans and not demons. All in all, Kaze/Gun Dragon are a cosmic force that opposes Chaos till the end of time. Also Married To The Job.
Collateral Damage - piss him off and you're gonna go. Alongside everything in approximately a 5 mile radius of where you're standing. (Thankfully he learns more restraint with time, attempting to minimize casualties where possible. Still, if ending Chaos requires sacrifices.. so be it.) Probably also Inferred Holo//caust in FFU. He had blown up huge chunks of land to end his foes. Likely killed people or at least animals :/
The Stoic - His personality archetype.
Weak to Magic - Blue Elenium, a special type of water magic that corrupts Soil. As an extension, Kaze is harmed more by water magic in general, seeing as the energy messes with Soil flow.
Trauma Button - having his hand held/touched suddenly. It brings painful memories of his sister, Aura, who died holding his hand. Under Chaos' influence, it was one of the only memories Kaze still had of her, rendering the trigger particularly intense and sending him into dissociative episodes. Furthermore, a fear of Gaudian flowers - the blue phantom flowers that herald the arrival of Chaos. Suffers from visions and nightmares of a very gory nature that involve said flowers.
Shell-Shocked Veteran - of the War with Chaos.
Loners are Freaks - he is an introvert born to a society that abhors weakness as disgraceful and sinful. Has trouble connecting with people - but he also (mostly) doesn't need to. Due to the nature of his quest, accepts his fate as the one who will never fit in anymore. "I am the monster who hunts monsters so that you may sleep at night human. It is a thankless job."
Beware the Quiet Ones - his silence precedes a storm. When he speaks, his words boom as thunder - be they a roar or a whisper. This man wastes no words.
Aloof Ally - self-explanatory.
Tranquil Fury - most of the time. Also, Rage Breaking Point applies when facing Kumo mid-show. Except Kumo promptly wrecks him, without much effort involved. It is only later (After-series) that Kaze recovers most of his power and sanity, and gains equal footing to his rival.
Firing One-Handed - can only do so this way. Only has one hand 99% of the time, the other is bound to the Magun and is reformed only to fire it.
Guns vs Swords - him and Kumo - Demon Gunman vs Demon Swordsman. Gun Dragon vs Sword Dragons.
Hand Cannon - Magun, to a lesser degree Orthrus.
I call it "Vera" - with Orthrus, named after the patron shepherd dog spirit of the sun's blood-haired children.
Improbable Aiming Skills - especially with the Gun Demon sight.
Overheating - the Magun when too many summonings are performed too quickly. As an extension of it, Kaze himself. May result in a death via Spontaneous Human Combustion.
Sawed-off Shotgun - Orthrus, double barreled.
Sniper Pistol - Orthrus.
Trigger Happy - self-explanatory.
Ancestral Weapon - the Magun, passed down the line of the Windarian summoner prodigies.
Made of Indestructium - the Magun, which cannot be broken by anyone short of another Unlimited.
Living Weapon - the Magun. Also, Legendary Weapon.
Shapeshifter Weapon - the Magun, a part of Kaze's body - gauntlet, windmill, gun. Replaces his right arm.
Only the Chosen May Wield - the Magun.
They Call Him "Sword" - except, gun. Kaze views himself as more of a weapon than a person at times. Makes sense, considering he is one - his true body is the Magun, which houses his heart, binds his soul and consciousness, and serves as the core from which his regenerative immortalitysets to work.
Nemesis Weapon - Kaze's Magun to Kumo's Maken. While forged for the same purpose, they govern conflicting energies. Also, Sword vs Gun.
Weapon Wields You - the Magun to Kaze with its funky laser-guided teleportation, always going after Chaos. Oh, Chaos' signature is underneath the ocean? Too bad.
Equippable Ally - Kaze, after reducing himself to the Magun and having Kumo and Lisa wield him to bring out the Gun Dragon.
Human Weapon - Kaze, literally.
Become Your Weapon - Kaze with the Magun.
This is a Drill - the Magun's Soil engine that activates Soil through spiral motion. Combined with a wholeass windmill.
Spectacular Spinning - the Magun's windmill. Plainly put, Spin to Deflect Stuff. Also, Blow You Away applies due to the Tornado Move.
Deadly Rotary Fan - the Magun's windmill used offensively.
Swirling Dust - Soil Spiral on the winds generated by the Magun.
Transformation Is A Free Action - seems to be the case in the series. May not be the case always.
Mechanical Lifeforms - Gun Dragon and all its summons.
Badass Cape - of course.
When Things Spin, Science Happens - the Magun's spinning shenanigans empower Soil.
Stock Footage - the summonings. He is become budget, Destroyer of Chaos. Also Transformation Sequence. Guy has a routine.
Running Gag - his spontaneous appearances, seemingly from nowhere.
Emergency Transformation - soul reforged into a Soil bullet, summoning himself as the Gun Dragon.
Elemental Powers - all the summon spirits.
Soul Power - Soil.
Soul-Powered Engine - the Magun/Gun Dragon.
Merger of Souls - Kaze with all of Magun's leftover Soil, as well as Bahamut's soul that animates Gun Dragon. Also Many Spirits Inside Of One - Endless White as the confluence of all the colors.
Emphatic Weapon - the Magun has a mind of its own, considering it is a vessel for the Gun Dragon.
Shoot the Hostage Taker - with Soljashy. Goddammit, Lisa.
Theme Music Power Up - Demon Gun Dissolve and Demon Gun Shot.
Black Blood - Kaze's blood, corrupted by the Magun's smoke. His earring, made of his own red blood mixed with tree sap, is a reminder of when he was still fully human. Technically also Machine Blood - it serves as a coolant for Magun and catalyst for Soil. Furthermore, My Blood Runs Hot - whenever Magun malfunctions. May be dangerous, as already mentioned.
Important Haircut - Kaze wears his hair long specifically as a "fuck you" to Windarian folk beliefs related to the blood hair curse.
Dark-Skinned Redhead - self-explanatory.
Death Glare - his usual go-to method of communication.
Icy Blue Eyes - a cold stare.
Eyes Do Not Belong There - Gun Dragon, with four eyes on the chest and one on the belly in addition to the four already on its head, also, many other summons, such as Phoenix or Raiden.
Glowing Eyes of Doom - Kaze's special Gun Demon crosshairs eyes, for when the time comes to be particularly scary.
True Sight - Kaze is capable of seeing through most basic illusions due to an extremely sharp spirit sense. Can see certain types of ghosts. Also Supernatural Sensitivity.
Cool Shades - wears a dark lens over his left eye to minimize distraction via Orthtus' muzzle flash. Also, Sunglasses At Night.
Megane - lol.
Lean And Mean - also lol.
Jerkass - he is. Sometimes Jerk With A Heart Of Gold.
Facial Markings - the wave on his nose and the solar marks under his eye.
Power Tattoo - the Embrace (Gun Dragon's claws upon the shoulders.)
Fingerless Gloves - wears an archery glove that covers the pointing finger and thumb only.
Eccentric Artist - also outside of battle. Primarily a poet, draws sometimes.
Being Tortured Makes You Evil - by Chaos, after being possessed. Returned to being good-aligned after some time.
Brainwashed And Crazy - by Chaos, to obsessively hunt Kumo. Now recovered. Also Mind Rape.
Laser-Guided Amnesia - his memory loss and subsequent insane pursuit of Kumo mid-show.
Curse - according to his people's folklore, the unusual color of his hair.
Stress-Induced Mental Voices - happens a lot, bothin hallucinations and the Soil speaking.
Heroic Willpower - to stand strong against Chaos.
Dark and Troubled Past - everything about him. Everything. Also Born Unlucky - cursed from the start.
Sole Survivor - of Windaria's fall.
Last of His Kind - last Windarian.
Meaningful Name - Black Wind.
Rite Of Passage Name Change - from the nickname "Wolf" to his current name, as granted by his clan.
Driven to Madness - first somewhat by his pursuit of power, then more so by Chaos.
No Medication For Me - good luck getting him to medicate for his issues. Chances are it would not work anyway due to his altered nature.
There Are No Therapists - on Windaria.
Good Thing You Can Heal - gets injured or killed multiple times during his quest. Good thing he's immortal, right?
I Can Still Fight! - frequently, especially when Kumo is somehow involved.
Organ Dodge - his heart is no longer in his chest.
Wound That Will Not Heal - still feels a type of phantom pain where his heart once was - the surgery scar is the only scar that refuses to heal.
An Arm And A Leg - the Magun essentially removed his right arm below the elbow.
Arm Cannon - the Magun.
Artificial Limbs - the Magun, replacing Kaze's right arm.
Handicapped Badass - despite possessing only one hand (when Magun not thawed).
Don't You Dare Pity Me! - Kaze and most of the Wind Warriors' culture in general.
All Are Equal In Death - as Soil.
Anti-Hero - also Pragmatic Hero.
The Cynic - self-explanatory.
Badass Creed - “From the Glory of Death, for the Glory of Life.”
Battle Cry - “Soil is my power!” Also Catchphrase and Calling Your Attacks.
Pre-Asskicking One-Liner - sometimes. "What is the matter with the Magun? Why won't you use it?"
Giving Someone the Pointer Finger - “The Soil Charge Triad to use on you has been decided!”
Big Brother Instinct - around Aura.
Parental Abandonment - never knew his parents, grew up on the streets as an orphan.
Summon Magic - Soil-Adherents train in Soil summonings - the Magun allows Kaze control over all summons, except ones of Mist.
Summoning Ritual - the Soil Charge Triad.
Offscreen Teleportation - played for comedic value. Is actually Soil Spiral teleportation, though.
Forced Sleep - induced by Kumo, causing Kaze to slumber for twelve years. Sleep, bitch!
Mage Marksman - self-explanatory.
Warrior Poet - "The gilding of a blood indomitable... True Sanguine."
Religion is Magic - the Soil poetry is sacred to Windarian summoners.
Dark Messiah - as the Dark Unlimited, Hunter of Chaos.
Duelling Messiahs - him and Kumo, who fits the light end of the spectrum. But will Makenshi's purity serve him? Hmm...
In Love With Your Carnage - You can kill efficiently and potentially kick his ass? Hot. Also Power is Sexy.
Magitek - the Magun and all its summons.
Human Alien - Windarians, Kaze's species. Also Proud Warrior Race.
Martyrdom Culture - the Missionary caste Soil-martyring for the Adherents.

Since History 3: Trapped is ending soon, here are some random ideas for things I’d like to see if they ever get a second season (feel free to use these for fanfic prompts as well):
Interaction between the main pairs because character dynamics are fun:
- Maybe Jack and Shao Fei get kidnapped and locked up somewhere and have to work together to escape, while Tang Yi and Zhao Zi work together to find them?
- Jack being annoyed by Fei’s impulsiveness, and Fei being annoyed by Jack’s smiling-all-the-time-ness, until they figure out how to work together (also maybe get some Jack backstory in there?)
- Tang Yi being annoyed by Zhao Zi’s wimpyness and Zhao Zi just being a nervous scared baby around him, until Tang Yi figures out that Zhao Zi is a better hacker than anyone in his gang and gains respect for him
- Also a scene where Tang Yi is about to do something out of impulsive anger and Zhao Zi tries to stop him, Zhao Zi tries to think of what Shao Fei would do in this situation and starts crying because he’s worried about him, and that gets Tang Yi to stop. “I know. I miss him too.”
- (and then they bond by Zhao Zi telling him funny stories about him and Fei in the police academy)
More dumb cliche drama shit because what the heck
- *throws at dartboard full of tropes* okay so Never Found The Body - Ah De is alive because corrupt cop secretly helped him fake his death to gain leverage with another gang, Entitled To Have You - Ah De goes mad and has been working with rival gang to take down everything Tang Yi has been trying to do, BUT Laser-Guided Amnesia - he gets hit on the head and forgets the last few years and just randomly shows up at the mansion one day and has no idea what happened or why his phone is filled with half-crazed messages about killing this Shao Fei guy or why Tang Yi hates him all of a sudden
- and then they have to use what little info Ah De had on him to figure out what him and the rival gang were planning and stop it
Hong Ye getting married subplot
- WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING! Tang Yi being an adorable happy sibling! More Shao Fei falling asleep during shoppping spree!
- (except this time he has a silly dream where’s he’s in a wedding dress (but it’s not “lol crossdressing” it’s “lol this is a sleeveless backless showing off legs sort of dress and he’s embarrassed as heck”) (”This isn’t my style!” *frantically tries to cover up, ripping sound is heard*))
- The season climax is that the bad guys are planning to raid the wedding, and you see them running into the venue...only to realize it’s empty and the police have them surrounded. Then we cut to the actual wedding somewhere else, which goes off without a hitch.
- And of course Tang Yi and Shao Fei exchange rings privately at some point.
Shenanigans and More Drama
- Zhao Zi hears about the cake kiss from Shao Fei. Zhao Zi figures out ‘wait you can involve food in sex? must research on internet.’. Zhao Zi runs up to Jack in the middle of a gang meeting like “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ABOUT FOOD SEX COME HERE I NEED TO LICK WHIPPED CREAM AND CHOCOLATE OFF YOUR ABS LIKE RIGHT NOW!?!” *cut to sexy aftermath*
- Hong Ye and police girl having to hang out for some reason and annoy each other at first but end up friends eventually and Shao Fei finds them at a dessert cafe passionately arguing about ice cream flavors (food fun and Bechdel test!)
- Aftermath of dealing with the corruption at the police station. Visiting the Chief’s daughter, who is expecting now.
- Proper flashbacks showing the relationship between Shao Fei and cop lady mentor; maybe she makes vague reference to a son?
- Tang Yi has some kind of party and Andy and his boyfriend and cute doctor guy are all there and Shao Fei is a jealous clingy baby the whole time (+flashback to how Tang Yi and Andy met?)
- Zhao Zi walks by Tang Yi and Shao Fei’s room and hears them going at it and panics. Jack walks by and asks what’s wrong. Zhao Zi complains that they’re being too noisy. Jack suggests they go in the next room and see if they can be even noisier. Zhao Zi is like “NO WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY!?”. You can hear Tang Yi and Shao Fei cracking up inside.
- Cute domestic shit with Tang Yi and Jack making breakfast while Shao Fei pours tea and juice and Zhao Zi sets the table.

Laser-Guided Amnesia
Kouki has no recollection of his time before the metro, due to his retrograde amnesia. However, he also has anterograde amneasia, so he struggles to form new memories as well.
In real life, amnesia usually only affects the memory for a short period before and after the incident. However, due to the Octo Expansion’s narrative, Kouki basically lost all his memory. He still retains a lot his skills, however, even if the more finer points were lost.

If the footage Emerald has shows the Inspector while he’s in London chasing down the faeries, everyone in the Metropolitan Police must know about him.
Unless W.I.T. wiped their memories. But then, how would they be able to review the video that they copied for Emerald without knowing again?

FindKeep tropes!
Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Le Reine pats Eclat “sweetly” on the head as a gesture of “affection”.
All Part of the Show: Done when Toraki recognizes Eclat/Masaru in the Memory Circus and escapes.
Bag of Holding: Due to FindKeep’s magical atmosphere, Honami’s backpack becomes this, allowing it to hold nearly anything, even Beatrice (in her humanoid form) and Eclat.
Bandit Clan: The Children of Crystal, made up of Crystalia and her adopted children.
Big Bad: Le Reine.
Black-Tie Infiltration: Honami, Beatrice and Hapi sneak into the palace during a party to retrieve the bell, which is in Eclat’s hands.
Body Horror: Beatrice’s arm getting ripped off and her stuffing pouring from the wound.
Character Development: Eclat/Masaru loses his fear of the human world and learns to stand up to his adoptive mother.
Changeling Tale: See Invasion of the Baby Snatchers below.
Creative Closing Credits: Hand-drawn animated scenes of Honami’s adventure serve as a backdrop for the credits.
Deadpan Snarker: Beatrice.
Deal with the Devil: Le Reine tries to coerce Hapi to hand over the bell and Masaru in exchange for 14,000 marbles.
Determinator: Once he recovers his memories of being brought to FindKeep, Masaru finally decides that enough is enough and that he’ll never be Le Reine’s Unwitting Pawn.
Distressed Dude: Eclat/Masaru starts out as this.
Down the Rabbit Hole: Natch.
Expressive Mask: Eclat/Masaru’s mask reflects his actual expressions and emotions, being deliberately made to do so and all.
Feather Fingers: The denizens of FindKeep who aren’t toys have these, being bird people. Overlaps with Four-Fingered Hands. Averted with Eclat, who is actually human.
Fictional Currency: Inhabitants of FindKeep use marbles like currency.
Force Feeding: Le Reine tries to force a captive Honami to eat an Eraser Capsule. Emphasis on tries.
Foreshadowing: Some aspects of Prince Eclat foreshadow his Reveal. The prince is the only inhabitant of FindKeep with five fingers, as he’s really a normal human boy in a costume. When he’s first introduced to Honami, he remarks “No offense, but you look just as ugly as I am.”
Similarly, Hapi tells Honami and Beatrice a rumor about a human child who was brought to FindKeep and was raised there. Eclat is a human boy named Masaru, and is the child of the rumors.
Full-Body Disguise: Prince Eclat/Masaru.
Gilded Cage: The palace, for Eclat.
Going to See the Elephant: Eclat wants to see the Memory Circus. And does so, leading to him reuniting with Toraki.
Gondor Calls for Aid: Hapi rallies the citizens to save the others.
Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Beatrice starts out as Honami’s stuffed doll before becoming a humanoid woman.
Happily Adopted: Masaru is adopted by Honami’s aunt in the end.
Heel–Face Turn: Crystalia and the Children of Crystal.
Hilariously Abusive Childhood: Eclat and Le Reine’s relationship has some shades of this.
Humans Are Bastards/Humans Are Ugly: This is what Le Reine raises Eclat to believe. Eclat, or rather, Masaru, initially doesn’t want to believe that he’s a human himself, instead thinking that he was born “unfortunately hideous”, when in actuality he’s quite adorable underneath his disguise.
Human All Along: Prince Eclat is revealed to be a disguised human Japanese boy named Masaru Noro.
I Choose to Stay: Beatrice and Toraki in the end, since they would remain alive even if they returned to the human world.
I Just Want to Be Free: Eclat, constantly under the surveillance of Le Reine’s guards. Naturally he takes the first chance he gets to escape.
The Ingenue: While Eclat shares some of these traits, Le Reine constantly belittles him that he’s vulnerable and helpless without her.
Interspecies Adoption: Eclat/Masaru is a human raised by Bird People and Living Toys.
Invasion of the Baby Snatchers: Masaru was taken along with Toraki to FindKeep by Rouge and Violette after he wandered out of his orphanage as a toddler.
Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Beatrice turns out to be this.
Keet: Eclat, to an extent.
Laser-Guided Amnesia: Eraser Capsules can cause this, though we don’t get to see their effects.
Living Toys: Dolls or stuffed animals permanently come to life under FindKeep’s sun.
Manchild: Eclat/Masaru is 14 years old, but because of his sheltered upbringing acts like a ten year old boy.
Manic Pixie Dream Guy: Prince Eclat.
Mecha-Mooks: Le Reine employs these and can control them via the bells as well.
Memento MacGuffin: The bell.
My Beloved Smother: Eclat/Masaru’s adopted mother, Le Reine, who keeps him sheltered most of the time.
Narnia Time: The amount of time that seems to have been spent in FindKeep at the end appears to be zero.
Oblivious Adoption: Eclat/Masaru never suspected that his real mother wasn’t a Bird Person, but a human. Before he learns the truth, he assumes he’s just very ugly.
Oh, Crap!: Le Reine knows she’s in trouble when her airship is about to slam right into her palace.
Parental Abandonment: Masaru was dropped off at an orphanage by his teenage birth mother.
Plucky Girl: Honami.
The Reveal: Prince Eclat is a boy who also entered FindKeep from the human world as a toddler, who has been walking around in a disguise.
Scenery Porn: This film is very pretty.
Sliding Scale of Living Toys: Judging by Honami and Masaru otherwise known as Prince Eclat’s examples, anyone who uses a doll or stuffed animal to travel to FindKeep will find their toy fully and permanently alive and real when they get there. Both Beatrice and Toraki talk as if they were fully sentient and aware even before they traveled to FindKeep, although this could be because they still retain their memories of being inanimate.
Super-Sargasso Sea: FindKeep is where lost and/or forgotten items from our world end up.
Storming the Castle: Hapi, the Children of Crystal and FindKeep’s citizens do this in the climax.
Took a Level in Badass: Masaru does this in the climax.
Villainous Breakdown: Le Reine seems to go completely crazy when the heroes attempt to retrieve Honami’s bell, eventually causing her to go even crazier with the beauty of her bells when her bell collection starts to collapse.
Wham Shot: When Eclat’s mask is cracked and reveals a human boy’s face underneath it.
What Happened to the Mouse?: There doesn’t seem to be any ramifications for a child vanishing from an orphanage in the middle of the night.
Wicked Stepmother: Technically, a wicked adoptive mother.

Trope Tuesday
Hello! This week for Trope Tuesday, I got the trope “Laser-Guided Amnesia”! This was an interesting one for me, considering one of the first OCs I ever designed had this, so I took a crack at writing her first moments in her new amnesiac life.
....
....
.... She was in pain.
Why...?
.... Where was she?
No, before that...who was she?
.... Everything ached. Her eye throbbed. Her fingers stung.
She’d been in a fight, and she’s lost.
.... How did she know that?
.... She twitched her fingers, sending a fresh spasm of pain through them. They felt...wet. She was bleeding. Her fingers were bleeding. Had she scratched something?
“Oh, you’re awake.”
Apparently, she was not alone, wherever she was. She opened her eyes.
She hissed and shut one again. Her eye – her left eye was too painful to open. It felt...as though something had crushed it.
She was...in a room with wooden walls. There were sigils carved into every available surface. No furniture. No windows. A door on the far end. There were fresh scratches on the floor around her – that was how her fingers must have started bleeding, then. There was only one source of light, a dirty but sizable lantern.
The other person was sitting on the floor by the lantern, leaning against the wall. The light cast odd, inhuman shadows across her face. Whoever the stranger was, she certainly didn’t seem to be human. A demon? Did demons exist...?
They did.
How did she know?
“How are you feeling?” the stranger queried.
She stared at the stranger, the non-human woman. She...had something on her face. Scales, maybe? And she was surrounded by a curtain of some kind, for reasons she couldn’t understand.
The stranger sighed. “All right, let’s try this, then. What’s your name?”
Name...? That’s right, she had to have a name. But what was it...? “I don’t know,” she whispered.
“Figures.” The stranger grabbed something beside the lantern and tossed it to her. She caught it, surprisingly. She had strangely good reflexes. “That’s your wallet. It has your ID in it.”
She opened the wallet – worn and soft to the touch, she must have had it for a while – and took out a tiny card. She peered at the name. “Imitsu.... Konohana Imitsu,” she read. “That is...my name?”
“Yes.”
So she was Konohana Imitsu. It didn’t spark any feelings in her. She had no ties to the name on the card she held. Her name was not a priority; getting answers was. Apparently, she had been a level-headed person. “Do you know what happened?” she asked the stranger.
“You were attacked,” replied the stranger. They shifted, leaned forward a bit. The curtains fell into the light of the lantern just a bit. Konohana – she would have to call herself that now, Konohana – blinked her one open eye. The curtains were wings. “A horde of demons dragged you here and stole your soul.”
Her soul...? Was that possible? To steal a person’s soul?
“This has happened before.” The winged woman leaned back against the wall again, obscuring part of her face. “Soulless humans like you...yeah, they’ve existed before. I’ve seen one or two. Most have amnesia. All of them lose their emotions. Sleeping is harder for them. I’ve never heard of one living longer than a month in that state.”
So she had a month left to live.... She felt no fear from hearing that, no dread. Soulless, indeed. She could not feel a single thing. Konohana made a useless grab at her chest, idly wondering about her current state. If she could get her soul back, maybe.
“Well, since you’re up, let’s get going.”
The winged woman stood up, grabbing the lantern. Konohana stood, too. “Where are we going?” she asked, more out of a sense that she should ask instead of genuine curiosity.
“Somewhere safe. I’ve been ordered to bring you to a certain asshole.” The winged woman’s expression turned sharp, though not at Konohana. “I dunno why, usually my people don’t care about soulless humans...but orders are orders.”
Konohana nodded. She could accept that.
“So it’s – wait, is that yours?”
Konohana blinked again. She glanced down at her feet. There was...a short and thick wooden stick lying by her toes. It wasn’t made out of the same wood as the rest of the house. She stooped down to grab it.
The instant her fingers wrapped around the stick, light flared out of one end. Konohana watched as energy poured out of the stick and coalesced into a translucent, jagged dagger. She felt nothing upon seeing it – she couldn’t, anyway – but the light did cause her to involuntarily open her other eye. The winged woman gasped, staring at the dagger and then at Konohana. “Should’ve figured you’d have a weapon,” she snorted. “I’d heard you were training to become an exorcist or something.”
“Exorcist....” Yes, that sounded right to Konohana. A demon slayer. Someone who could kill demons, and maybe someone who could fight and get her soul back.
“Any way to turn that off?” The winged woman gestured at the dagger in Konohana’s hand. “We don’t want to give away our position, in case any demons are still lurking around.”
Konohana shrugged a single shoulder. She shoved the stick – no, the hilt – into her pocket. The dagger vanished.
The winged woman nodded. “Excellent. And, uh, keep that eye of yours closed, too.”
The soulless human tilted her head a little. Now that the other mentioned it...her other eye, the one that still ached, felt weird. Even though both eyes were open, her depth perception still felt skewed. Experimentally, she closed her functional eye. The world faded into darkness, punctuated only by pinpricks of color. Dusky gray swirled in front of her, in the vague shape of the winged woman. “What’s wrong with my eye?” Konohana asked.
“It was the extraction point for your soul, but beyond that, I dunno. Can you still even see through it?”
“.... Sort of.” Somehow, Konohana could tell that the winged woman wasn’t lying. Maybe the gray stuff was telling her that. She switched her eyes, and the world popped back into normal view. “Okay, let’s go.”
“Right.” The winged woman opened the door. “By the way, I’m Xýtha.”
Konohana couldn’t bring herself to say “nice to meet you” back.

Batch of Miniforce tropes, part 7
MAIN
-Batman Gambit: In “Miniforce and Baby Iguana”, Pascal has stolen the Iguana Queen’s egg and placed it near Susie’s house so that the Miniforce will take care of it when it hatches (NOTE: Link to “Parents for a Day”), then lie to the Iguana Queen herself that the Miniforce has stolen it so that her trust towards them gets broken and that she will try to fight the Miniforce when they approach her. (NOTE: SPOILER STARTS HERE) Pascal does it once again near the end of the first season, when he disguised himself as Volt to attack Ray, get Ray to join his side to attack the Miniforce, while Pascal himself kidnaps Dr. Tao to get him to activate a powerful dinosaur mechamon (SPOILER ENDS HERE) -Bears are Bad News: The teddy bear-like mechamon in “Dangerous Curiosity” -Blue is Heroic: Volt the squirrel -Color-Coded Characters: The Miniforce team are colored very specifically to make them easier to identify, and this not only applies to their normal forms, but it extends to their battle suits and Force Cars/Bots too. Volt is blue, Sammy is red, Max is yellow, and Lucy is pink. -Chekov’s Gun: (NOTE: SPOILER) Remember the second episode where it was revealed that Pascal can disguise himself as Volt in the beginning? It doesn’t come into play (not even in the episode where the ability is introduced) until over 20 episodes later, when he uses that ability to trick Ray into believing that the Miniforce was betraying him. (SPOILER OVER) -Conspiracy Theorist: Eden the human in “Dangerous Curiosity” believes that the animals (i.e. the Miniforce team) are doing strange things and out to harm humans. Well, he’s only HALF-right… -Cut Lex Luthor A Check: Nein and Pascal must waste a boatload of money for funding all those mechamons and inventions. It’s a miracle that they’re nowhere near being in huge debt by now. While most of them do in fact can only serve an evil purpose, some of them in fact can potentially be sold or implemented legitimately and legally if they are used for good, like self-walking soda vending machines, candy trees, and even vacuum robots (heck, for that last one, Volt even once jokingly suggested that Susie’s room would be clean if they had the vacuum robot in their house). If they just marketed and patented these inventions, they could easily be rolling in enough dough to BUY the land for both the animals’ forest AND the Miniforce squad. But no, all Nein and Pascal ever care about is damaging the well-being and health of innocent animals, taking over the world, and getting rid of “those pesky Miniforce brats”, so of course the Miniforce has to stop Pascal and destroy his inventions! -The Door Slams You: In “Black Miniforce”, an amnesiac Volt attemped to transform into his battle suit form, but was stopped by this trope by Susie’s little brother. This may or may not have been the event that ultimately returned his memory back to normal. -Easy Amnesia: Volt suffers memory loss simply from a hit in the head by a rock from Ray’s attack in “Black Miniforce”. He gets his memory back either from a door slam or Susie telling him she’ll buy peanuts. -Everything’s Better With Monkeys: Dr. Tao the Miniforce scientist -Forced Into Evil: In “There’s Something About Ipas”, Ipas, a former Miniforce agent, was forced by Pascal to spy on the Miniforce and steal their devices so that Pascal can finally leave her alone (not that she even wanted to be on the evil side). But since Pascal broke his promise to her, coupled with Ipas’ and Volt’s crushes on each other, she decided on her own accord to no longer serve Pascal. -Friendly Rivals: Hawk the retired green Miniforce ranger in “Destined Rivals” is this to Sammy. Hawk wants to be stronger than Sammy and one day beat him in a one-on-one fight. -Heel-Face Turn: Ray goes through one once he realizes that Pascal tricked him. -Interspecies Romance: Volt the squirrel and Ipas the cat in “There’s Something About Ipas”. Sammy the owl’s crush on Minnie the human in “Destined Rivals” is a one-sided version of this trope that gets dropped pretty quickly. -Humans Are The Real Monsters: Pascal firmly believes this, while the Miniforce stands by the ideal that humans and animals can co-exist peacefully. Is it any wonder why Pascal is a villain who hates the Miniforce? -Good Colors, Evil Colors: The Miniforce hero team each wear blue, red, yellow and pink in every situation. As for the villains, Nein wears black and grey, and Pascal and the mook robots are purple. Ray manages to pass for both good and evil with his black motif. -Mix and Match Animals: Ray in “Black Miniforce” is said to be a mutant of one of these in his normal animal form, but it is never specified what animals he is a mix of. Nonetheless, he was ostracized by humans for being this trope prior to his meeting Dr. Tao and subsequent Miniforce membership. -My God, What Have I Done?: Ray after realizing that he was tricked by Pascal into fighting the Miniforce in “Saving Dr. Tao”. He then decides to fight off Pascal’s mooks alone while the Miniforce move on to fighting Pascal’s powerful dinosaur mechamon. -Laser-Guided Amnesia: In “Black Miniforce”, Volt has gained amnesia from a blunt hit on the head, and can’t remember who the rest of the Miniforce or Susie is, thinks that they are enemies of his, and he is in some “human lair”. Yet he still properly remembers that he is a Miniforce agent, and even attempted (but failed) to transform into his battle suit form in front of Susie (though he didn’t remember that he wasn’t supposed to transform in front of humans). -Manipulative Bastard: Pascal -Non-Standard Character Design: In a show with a few categories of character designs (regular chibi-style animals, Miniforce-style hero battle suits, Pascal-style evil battle suits, mechamons, and humans), there can be quite a few minor characters that fit none of those categories: The Iguana Queen in “Miniforce and Baby Iguana” really doesn’t fit well with the rest of the cast. Even her baby iguana Bebe is a bit different from the other animals, though still somewhat fits the style. Dr. Tao the monkey scientist really looks like he belongs in another cartoon with a different style than Miniforce, where the shapes and style of animals are somewhat standardized (in fact, he resembles Cranky Kong more (NOTE: Link to the “Donkey Kong Country” series)). Especially jarring when in “Saving Dr. Tao” we are shown a picture of him right next to his grandson, and the grandson looks more like a Miniforce animal character than he does. -Red is Heroic: Sammy the owl -Super Dickery: In “Black Miniforce”, Ray’s reasoning for joining Pascal’s side was told through a flashback where Volt appeared to betray and attack Ray and was told it was under Dr. Tao’s orders. (NOTE: SPOILER STARTS HERE) In “Saving Dr. Cho”, it was revealed that it was really Pascal disguised as Volt, and it was all part of his Batman Gambit to turn Ray to his side, kidnap Dr. Tao, and get the blueprints to a powerful dinosaur mechamon (END OF SPOILER) -We Will Meet Again: Pascal says this so often throughout this series, Volt even lampshades it in the season 1 finale “Invincible Miniforce”.
ADDENDUMS TO PREVIOUS LISTS MAIN -The Cameo: And Susie and Volt are seen watching Vroomiz again in the first part of the two-parter “Black Miniforce”. Gosh, SAMG must really love inserting Vroomiz into Miniforce, don’t they. -Captain Ersatz: Dr. Tao the monkey near the end of the first season resembles Cranky Kong from the Donkey Kong Country series, only instead of being a grumpy rambling on about how much things used to be better back in his day, he is a respected Miniforce-affiliated scientist. Pascal’s dinosaur mechamon in “Invincible Miniforce” sure resembles a purple version of Grimlock’s dinosaur form (NOTE: Link to “Transformers”) -Cute Bruiser: Susie was even able to PUNCH A TINY BEE, and even score 3,000 points on the punching bag arcade machine in “Invincible Miniforce”. -Eye Beams: The bear mechamon in “Dangerous Curiosity” fires Cyclops-like beams (NOTE: Link to the “X-Men” comics, or maybe “Capcom Vs Whatever”) Ray’s forcebot can do this. -Fallen Hero: Ray from the two-parter “Black Miniforce”. -Meaningful Name: Lao Shu from “Kungfu Master Cho” has a Chinese name (老鼠) that means “mouse” (literal meaning “old rodent”) in Chinese. Though in the show itself, Lao Shu is actually stated by commander Chen to be a “mole”, though to be fair, it doesn’t help that it’s common for Chinese words of various rodents and rodent-like animals to use the “鼠” (“shǔ”) hanzi character, which means “mouse” or “rodent”, and the actual Chinese word for “mole”, 鼹鼠 (“yǎn shǔ”), so happens to also be spelled with 鼠, so it could be just a simple Korean to Chinese translation error based on that. They could also possibly be going for the super-literal “old rodent” translation, since Lao Shu has been sealed off for many years before his escape. However, if Wiktionary is to be believed, 老鼠 is also defined as an idiom for a “cunning, deceitful person”, which definitely fits Lao Shu’s villain persona. -Talking Animal: Eden in “Dangerous Curiosity” was actually shocked to hear that the Miniforce (in their normal forms) can speak, despite the fact that Susie and her little brother hear and communicate with the Miniforce fine with no problems or shock. Heck, Susie’s best friend Minnie from the previous episode “Destined Rivals” has JUST first met the Miniforce without any sort of shock or surprise when they spoke to her. So it’s really jarring that there was no indication of talking animals being considered weird and unusual to humans In-Universe for the previous 21 episodes before that point.
YMMV - Hilarious in Hindsight: The teddy bear mechamon in “Dangerous Curiosity” resembles Stufful and Bewear (NOTE: Link to “Pokemon Sun and Moon”) in both appearance and color scheme. To top it off, the robot even has a “seems cuddly but really dangerous” motif that was also stated in Stufful and Bewear’s Pokedex entries.
(OK, I believe that’s it for the season 1 trope list for now, sufficient enough to warrant a proper page (albeit with a “Needs Wiki Magic Love” note saying that season 2 tropes and more general tropes I might have missed should be added). All that’s needed now is to combine all 7 lists, alphabetize them, give it proper TV Tropes wiki formatting, and submit it. Will let you know when the actual page is up)
