[racism mention, extremely violent fatphobia after the cut cw]
eight is a really interesting character--much more so than the writers intended him to be, tbh--and it's a real shame that both the authors' racism and the fandom's behavior drove me away from getting invested in him for so long.
the racism i was just like 'wow this is beyond me to even begin to unpack at this point in time. jesus.' but also. the entire fandom using their love for them as a reason to make endless rabid hate posts about your fave, in many of which they fantasize about 'slitting open the fat bastard's belly and gutting him like a pig,' and getting dozens of notes for it will put you off a character a little bit. just slightly 🤏
#LL tag#the salt files#fatphobia cw#gore cw#it is really fucking bad be warned lmao#LL number five#LL number eight#there were other reasons including 'hit saturation point with navrina within a week of joining the fandom'#'and it took years before it wasn't in Near Every Single Post and Fic; five hate aside but also in a large majority of the five hate'#but uhhhhh those were two of the biggest ones lmao#like i still don't know how far i am equipped to unpack his deal because of the landfill-sized can of worms that is#everything to do with the vish/nu natio/nalists. because holy shit lmao#but it is at least less general sense of Wow This is More Racist Than I Know How to Even Begin to Put Into Words these days#and also he has more parallels/foils with five than they meant him to tbh#let him get past the stage of 'i feel guilty for tricking people into revering and dying for me because i was lonely'#'and then abandoning them'#and then hit 'holy shit i was pressured; manipulated; adultified; and dehumanized'#'by being used as a figurehead for an extremist right-wing terrorist organization'#which like. i don't know how to tell these authors that making your main rep for brown people a religious terrorist organization#is still maybe a little bit deeply fuckin racist even if you go It's Okay They're Our Buddies!#and in fact the way it plays out is kind of a hundred times worse than if they hadn't#i can't accurately say i wish they had gone into it either way because jesus christ with these people can you imagine lmfao#but like. still#racism cw#LL crit tag

I have found a song, that some parts kinda fit Sofia or is it just me? (I respect you if you think not, but I personally think it does)
You'll be alright, kid by Alex Warren
I wish I had the number to my younger self
I′d pick up the phone and say, "You're only twelve
And you′ve lost more than most people do."
You don't know it now, but there's still more to lose.
(For obvious reasons. But let's replace 'I wish I had a number' to 'I wish I could send a letter' and remove the 'pick up the phone and say' and replace it with 'I'd give the letter and it will say' to make it fit Sofia's era.
'You're only twelve and you've lost more than most people do', REALLY fits Sofia in my image, she literally lost her freaking childhood due to becoming a protector! But, it's actually more appropriate if we make twelve to eight as Sofia was eight at the start of the show/the movie pilot
'You don't know it now, but there's still more to lose', you can see alot of things but I see is that at first, Sofia only lost her father, and only had her two bestfriends and her mom to -hopefully not- lose. But after becoming a princess, she has more friends, siblings, a new father, and a whole kingdom to be worried about losing due to being protector an princess.)
′Cause friends move away, and people get older
Your heart′s gonna break over and over
You're not to blame, so don′t blame yourself
I hope this helps.
('Cause friends move away', of course in "Forever Royal" we see the kids graduating Royal Prep, and while I doubt they'll drift. It will become hard to see eachother often. Since I believe they'll be going to different schools.
'And people get older', as of "Once upon a princess"/ Sofia the First pilot, Sofia is eight. And by "Forever Royal" she's twelve. And those years, Sofia slowly lost her innocence, getting trauma. Plus herself and everyone around her aged.
'Your heart's gonna break over and over', like seriously, the poor girl gets trauma plus Amber betraying Sofia I believe atleast more then once and Cedric scheming behind her back and to betray her aswell, at least both made it up to her :)
'You're not to blame, so don't blame yourself, I hope this helps', Sofia will definitely try to stay positive.)
You're gonna ask, "Why?"
You′re gonna want answers
Gonna feel like no one ever understands you
You're gonna think twice before you start praying
And wonder when the walls stop caving
Hate to be the one to tell you this
But you′ll be alright, kid
('You're gonna ask, "Why?", you're gonna want anwsers' Cause season 1-2 Sofia gave me a curious child figuring out what being royal's all about hah! Get the pun? I know.....I'm lame😭 vibe.
'Gonna feel like no one ever understands you' because, Sofia had to keep being storykeeper and protector in training a secret -save Amber finding out later in the seasons, Amber does somewhat get Sofia. But I have a feeling Amber doesn't fully get it-.
'You're gonna think twice before you start praying, and wonder when the walls start to stop caving'. I personally see the walls caving as responsibilities placed on Sofia. And the gonna think twice before you start praying is because Sofia knows it's NEVER gonna stop.
'Hate to be the one telling you this, but you'll be alright kid'. Sofia feels....mixed about the fact no one has thought to say those things, and she is thinking it herself.
I'm totally not making an animatic/edit about this song and Sofia in my head 👀 :)

Attending my third and final session, which was an evening session. This is my first Olympics, but this stadium was built to perfection because I was in Row 81 - nose bleed seats or the third level of seating, but I had a view that was perfect to see every person and every activity with the naked eye. Germany was on my left. France on my right. France and Netherlands in front. The award ceremony was beautiful and a theme song that will play in head and memories for a long time. I have seen the Olympic officials and competitors to change from a white organization, now black organization, and now Asian integration. I heard an international music playlist…Thank goodness for saving me from hearing United States playlist. It was exciting to see the international community knowing other artist's song and dances to them. Thanks to the German couple next to me explaining the different songs matching certain events in the European community. The men's high jump was spectacular won in winning a medal had to be done through a tie-breaker. The men's long distance 5000m was funny because Ethiopia utilized its energy on the 2nd lap to finish and did not even medal on the final lap. The women's 1500m was really good for Kenya to break her own record and win gold for a third time…I guess will see you in Los Angeles 2028. The women's 110m hurdles was a spectacular for the USA to win and defending champion coming in 3rd with a photo finish. Yes, I am glad the 4x400m USA men and women team won first for their respective races. MVP for this Olympics for USATF women was Gabrielle "Gabby" Thomas with a 4x100m, 200m, and 4x400m gold medals. MVP for this Olympics for USATF men was Noah Lyles and Quincy Wilson because they did their job to provide opportunities for others and both from the DMV metro area. The very disappointing part is the arrogance of USATF not awarding alternates or Team B medals for creating the opportunity of getting an Olympic Record or Medal. I thought Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. was arrogant. I was so proud of the other country teams showed great pride and sportsmanship for every team member whether they participated or not on the relay teams. Yes, I am upset because Quincy Wilson was absent from the medal podium…I do not know the reason…I do not care. The USATF women 4x100m showed it also with only four members and no alternate. Africa is getting their teams right (Botswana pushed the h*ll out of that last men's 4x400m relay leg), Europe is getting their teams right, and Asia shown the most improvements on establishing presence where American favorites are marketed to win. I never thought I would see an Asian (Japan) claim first place in women's Javelin. Thanks to the international community to make USATF work for those medals. Thanks most to Mother Africa and the number of Africans that represented countries where we had the most horrid treatment including up today. I personally and professionally thank each African, French, and American athlete for representing me and my DNA makeup. Paris, France in the European Union has set the bar in achieving gender parity, promoting sustainability, unexpected sports categories, and getting the viewership up…now Los Angeles 2028 in the United States of America of North America let's see what you got since 1984. I was only eight (8) years old in 1984 so I knew nothing of the Olympics….not until high school I knew of Junior Olympics track and field with Orangeburg Track Club in South Carolina, while attending Cross High School on my high school track and field team.

Emil Schäfer - Part 2
Jasta 11
Schäfer had no trouble keeping up with the other pilots and shot down his first victory within Richthofens Staffel (his second in total) a few weeks after his arrival. On 4 March 1917 he shot down two enemies in one day. On 6 March he was awarded the Iron Cross First Class. Within the squadron there was room for friendly teasing; when Schäfer reported about his fight, his comrades teased him about his supposed bad shooting (he himself admitted that he needed a lot of ammunition): “The observer must have thrown the map at you” (in reverence to him having to get so close to the other airplane), “The observer probably cried about your lousy shooting and his handkerchief flew away”. But all in good fun.
Once when Manfred von Richthofen didn´t return after a big fight, Schäfer drove around the area trying to find out what had happened. Rumours of bullet wounds and life threatening injuried were making rounds. That's why Schäfer was pleasantly surprised when he found his squadron leader happily in the mess of a pioneer unit in Hénin-Lietard. Slurping oysters.
In his first full month with Jasta 11 Emil Schäfer increased his victory score to 8, then it was time for the infamous Bloody April. Schäfer contributed to that terrible time for the British by shooting down 15 of them. He enjoyed the spring time: “Numbers 12 and 13 fell today. It's wonderful spring weather here and it's been raining Englishmen for eight days”, he writes to his parents on 6 April 1917.
On 22 April Schäfer got shot down during a fight and he had to emergency land between lines. He had to hid in a shell hole and wait for darkness, then he had to sneak back to the German lines dodging English patrols. He managed to reach an outpost and after a short recovery break he made his way back to his comrades. His adventure impressed his comrades and even Richthofen mentioned it in his biography. He learned a lesson from that experience: “I am glad that I got out of the situation yesterday in one piece, and in future I will strongly consider attacking at low altitudes beyond the line”.
On 26 April he got the notification that the Kaiser awarded him the Hausorden von Hohenzollern (the award that usually preceeded the Pour le Mérite). He also got less happy news, as he was ordered to leave Jasta 11 and become leader of Jasta 28. He was excited about getting to lead his own unit, but “I am bitterly sorry that I now have to leave my beloved squadron, my excellent comrades and, above all, von Richthofen”.
On the same day, Schäfer had the pleasure to safe Lothar von Richthofens life. Lothar was being attacked by an English plane and lost controll of his machine, Schäfer got behind the enemy and managed to shoot it down in flames.
On 30 April he was awarded the Pour le Mérite.
In May he left for Jasta 28. “I now face a task like no other I´ve had before. I hope and believe that I´ll be well up to it. Staffel 28 is filled with good pilots. In the four days since I am in command, we´ve shot down four, so the prospects are good”.
On 5 June 1917 Schäfers luck ran out. Used to the extremely close teamwork and mutual protection within Jasta 11 he went into a group of English planes. Max Müller, an experienced pilot himself, described the fight: “Leutnant Schäfer was the leader of our flight against eight Englishmen. I myself was attacking from above – that’s the best way to attack. Leutnant Schäfer was attacking with six other gentlemen from the same hight. He had almost brought down one Englishmen when he was attacked by three more from the rear and from above. I came to his assistance but it was too late. Leutnant Schäfer´s machine broke up and crashed vetically. The other gentlemen did not attack vigorously enough. They are not as yet proficient enough. It could also be that a cable had been severed or shot off. He made the mistake of acting without regard for himself in order to take care of the others. I have told him that many times before”.
He was buried in his home town of Krefeld on 11 June 1917. Manfred von Richthofen and Werner Voss attended the funeral. The plaque commemorating Schäfer is still above his birthplace.
RIP Emil Schäfer (1891 – 1917)

1st as a Reward, kirumi policegirl will now proceed to CRUSH plain’s face under her mighty ass!
Then Rank every single character of rain code! The detectives, shinigami, the amaterasu members, and even the mysterious masked and the pretty kurumi! All 20! Will be fun to compare before game and after you played it!
"Yes!!! That's great!!!~ Let her at me and...hm? A ranking? Sure! A ranking is bound to be fu-gaaaah!!!"
(Plain could quite finish their sentence as the fact of a very thicc and very irate Kirumi, with her massive booty, proved to be a very efficient stopping force for them at the moment).
20) Number One - He be old and evil looking and reeks of bad guy syndrome. Def the least interesting of the bunch.
19) Kurumi Wendy - Not out of actual dislike, but I just kind of find her a bit plain so far? Maybe that'll change later.
18) Zilch Alexander - This might be petty...but it's the ears for me. I can't rank him higher than that with those ears, and the glasses don't help! Also doesn't help that I find his power kinda weakish compared to the others.
17) Zange Eraser - Better old man who I think won't be as evil!!! Though aside from that his design and ability isn't as interesting as I feel
16) Dominic Fultank - Big hulking brute archetype, thought not much else it seems? I love his cybernetics, but compared to the other Ameterasu Corp, definitely feels the weakest?
15) Masked Man - Look at this cute little dork!~ Trying to be mysterious, he just seems like the type you can't help but tease. Yet his appearance so late in the previews makes it so I can't rank him any higher.
14) Desuhiko Thunderbolt - l love his ability, but don't quite like his personality much? I mean, it isn't bad, but its just not what I super enjoy?
13) Seth Burroughs - Look at me and tell me he's not the type that got the job without reading fully the terms of services associated with it? The of misfortune is strong with this one.
12) Swank - He's only this far because I love his jacket. Just look at it. Look at how shiny it is!!!
11) Guillaume - Crazy neon haired waifu!~ In seriousness, I love her spunky, chaotic design and can't wait to see how she messes and meshes with the detectives during the story.
10 & 9) Yomi Hellsmile and Martina Electro- You love to see bad guys loving each other and God do they have a presence! I can't wait to see just how well they work together in-game. But I also can't rank them higher than the eight above.
8. Pucci -Look at her she's adorable and I'm a kind of a sucker for cute types with a temper for other people being a bother to them. Well, that and her little shipping moment with Yuma.
7. Aphex Logan - Gotta love the somewhat unhinged violent good guys! Not crazy about the face mask, but really the guy himself and his design makes up for it in spades.
6. Fubuki Clockford - From angry boy to ditzy time master, I'm a sucker for characters who have the strongest of abilities but are a bit not all there to use it quiiite right. It's just a fun dynamic.
5. Melami Goldmine - Big sister types + seemingly pretty chill and fashionable ranks one highly with the Plain one.
4. Shinigami - She's beauty, she's grace, she's a death goddess who'll shove mystery in your face! She's Shinigami and I just love her as a partner already even before the game has come out. I'm eager to see how her story wraps around with Yuma.
3. Vivia Twilight - "I wanna die..." I"ll drink to that, my good man! II'll drink to that ;_;.
2. Halara Nightmare - Get on that grind Halara!! I don't know why, but I just can't help but be sucked in them both by Halara's beauty...and them wanting to be paid above all else. I don't blame them, time's are tough!
Yakuo Furio - This placement totally wasn't because of his character preview video just released. Totally. No way. Absolutely not, I surely didn't fall in love with his voice and mature attitude, whatever gave you that idea?
With that all 20 is complete! Here's hoping MDA delivers with this interesting crew!

This one's a little bit different, mostly because they are ridiculously minor characters that I had given profiles to just for the hell of it, and so I could add villains to the roster, lol. They are the 'main' three villains that the group encounters other than Frostbite, and one of the few that'll team up with people. They're also high level villains, meaning they are highly dangerous.
I really don't have much in the way of backstories for any of them. Pyra, I think, is just supposed to be entitled, since her profile says that she doesn't like people telling her what she can and can't do. She's a stereotypical villain, in that she's fighting the Guild because she believes that her power is superior to most, mostly because it is unusual. Plus, it's fire. But add in the fact that it's an explosive powder, and that's impressive.
Pyra is married to Syren, who does end up with the smallest bit of backstory on her profile. She's an elegant woman, kinda and gentle when she's Sophia, but she comes from a family of villains, and, as such, grew up hearing about the evils of the Guild. Well, maybe not the Guild per se, since it was created when she was eight, but heroes in general. She basically grew up with people who bemoaned those who believed in helping people with their powers (gross), and considering she can control people through singing, she has a power that's considered borderline villainous to begin with.
Dollmaker is probably my favorite of the three, not just because I gave her a simple but cool design. She, I just decided, suffers from 'villain powers' - basically she has a power that people consider to be creepy and the sort of thing villains have, so they treated her like a villain from the get-go. The difference between her and, say, Astrid is mostly that she chose to embrace that idea rather than fight to prove it's the person not the power that matters.
Dollmaker is considered to be Cosmic Star's rival, although only Nova actually thinks that, because Dollmaker is the only villain able to get the better of Cosmic Star. This is mostly because Dollmaker is crazy powerful, and she's able to control an unlimited number of objects (she just chooses dolls because it's creepy and easy for her), and those objects 1) don't feel pain and 2) can be sent pretty high into the sky after Cosmic Star. She's pretty terrifying, but luckily for literally everyone, she has not aspirations of being anything other than a villain. She's not out to prove anything - basically she's been told she''ll be a villain all her life, so she's like welp, I guess I'll be a villain.
I did these guys mostly because I wanted to do some more girl designs, and sadly, these guys are my last girls, lol. Plus, they needed to be done. But that also means that I'm close to finishing these, yay! :D

I tried to get trough all as fast as possible. I not only got information on Eckhardt, there are several published diary pages by him. It was terror trying to decipher them, but I managed, I think I managed to live so that's harder than reading cursive. Here's Vasiley's answer:
Transcript of the first and second page: The essential part of his answer is as follows- he's a bit secretive of the number of his clients concearning the Obscura Paintings, not Engravings. There exist five of these paintings and they are iconography, hence they were made on thick wooden pieces. They are relatively small: abour 19 to 25cm in height and 10 to 17cm wide. There exist alongside the paintings the Obscura Engravings, Vasiley has one, Werner had some(?), at least one that I know of. The man who painted over the original images and made it Christian is Brother Obscura, who should have a tomb...somewhere. The lore says they had demonic powers and this couldn't be given out to normal people.
Transcript of the third page: In conclusions:
No information on any other client(s)
He sent Werner an Engraving, not an Obscura Painting, and I'm not sure why. Werner would surely want all five?
Brother Obscura died and as a monk he'll have a tomb, somewhere. But where?
Transcript of the fourth and fifth page: So, Meister Eckhardt was a German theologian, philosopher and mystic born around 1260 who died in 1328 presumably. There is no good picture of him and all existing ones show him in old age. He was a monk and only his last name is known, the first one is lost.
His official timeline is as follows:
1274 he participates in the dominican monastery in Erfurt as a monk
1280 start of his studies in "Studium naturalium"
1289 Eckhardt finishes his studies and is now a lector for other monks
1294 he enters a Christian faculty in PARIS, which means he has tis to the city the Monstrum is running around in
until 1302 no one knows what he was up to
1323 Thomas von Aquin is considered a saint, but Eckhardt should have taken his place instead
1325 the Pope himself(!) suspects Eckhardt to be doing something mysterious and occult
he died before the court ruling went through
People were forbidden to use his name out of fear to be heretics. He was regarded as a negative person that offended the Pope, thus not being a devout good Christian. His date of death is unknown, and I#ll wear my tinfoil hat and say: what if he just lived? He's a mystic, and possibly dealt with alchemy. And the Lux Veritatis are said to have killed him way, way later. Or maybe it was a desendant of his? But he was a monk, so...might have been diffucult to find a woman.
Transcript of the sixth and seventh page: Make the tinfoil hat a tinfoil home: the diary pages have connections to what's happening in Paris and I don't think this is coincidence. I copeid them from our library and if the pages are true, Eckhardt has to do with the supernatural. if it's the real Middle Ages Eckhardt peopel still talk about today he had to find the Philosopher's Stone. If this is true, where has he been hiding? There is no record of him today. Did he just vanish and staged his death and continued to live on?
Transcript of the eight and ninth pages: Page one Twenty years after the accusations he moved to Prague. Vasiley's gallery is also there, and if Vasiley is a Lux Veritatis and also old as shit they might know another. Eckhardt was hurt by a boating accident, then went into hiding. The sweres of the city provided him with shelter to work a hundered(!) years for the "Eluminated", whatever the fuck this is. He wrote his survival will reveal wheather the deal was real, he sounds like a lunatic, and my tinfoil is growing.
Page two He said he wants the "Eluminated" to breed on Earth and I think he could mean Nephilim since I've come across these several times now. The "Secret Shills" he talked about could be alchemy, like I expected, and it gets creepier- he wants a human body to be a vessel for his Eluminated, so what if he is responsible for the murders? What if he did kill these people to take something from them (they accused the organ mafia in the newspapers!) to put everything into one person and frankenstein his vessel to repopulate the earth...after what, exactly? He claimed to have healed in supernatural speed and mentions his "guidl brothers" which makes me think he also has a club, like the LV, that work for or with him. What if?
Page three He confirms he tried to make man-made bodies as hosts for his bosses, the Eluminated. So yeah, he's a sicko. He said he needs more time and I think that's the deal: he was granted a longer life span to make the world suitable for breeiding the nephilim race. He's got a deal with the Biblical half angels. Yeah I need a drink.
I'll write down my suspected Eckhardt timeline for after his staged death (or his death and ressurection?). I'll check Fayolah's mail again, she mentioned the LV and might give me a hint.
I will write FAyolah again, and I will visit Margot's district tomorrow. I know we shouldn't leave our houses, but staying here with my journal full of otherworldly things feels liek I'm losing it. Fresh air and people made of flesh and blood should do me good.

the hard part is trying to lay out why i feel like there is gay coding going on here specifically, not just arospec, without going into ship manifesto territory. like, i feel like there's plenty of room to interpret him as exclusively one or the other, and my personal read on him is that he's both. but his dynamics with nine and eight do legit read to me as sexual and romantic awakenings respectively, not just because i like them as ships, and i feel like they strongly inform the overall context of his queerness and vice versa.
i am, however, a hundred percent certain that this kid is queer as fuck one way or another. he is so so very not into girls lmao
i started writing up a short bullet point highlight reel of Reasons Five is Gay-Coded and it is now thousands of words long and still going fsjdndmdl
#LL number five#LL tag#like i have a more personal headcanon that he has very VERY vanishingly rare wiggle room for being bi arogay#and the vast majority of that small sliver a) involves trauma and b) is still in heavily muddy platonic territory#as far as the text and subtext we see in canon though he has strong queerplatonic bonds with girls and Does Not Want romantic ones#like 'active immense distress; anger; and disgust at having romantic/sexual dynamics with girls and women attributed to him'#'unless it's a question that is immediately dropped once he says nah'#Kid's Queer#dyn: lost boys#need a dyn tag for him and eight :thonk:#i am way behind on dyn tags for so many fandoms#LL number nine#LL number eight

i got tagged by @gretagerwigsmuse for this ask tag so here we go! thanks for the tag (from quite literally one of the coolest people ever)!
nickname - so my name is so very common but my last name isn't and it's two first names with double letters (it's LL, and you could probably guess what it is lol) so growing up (even though I was the only girl in my grade with that name) i was always addressed as my first and last name in like a sing-song voice? idk one of the TAs at my elementary school started doing it and it stuck. my dad calls me boopy loopy (a derivative of boop-a-loop from when i was a baby). first grandchild and only granddaughter privileges have deemed me "baby girl" to all of my extended family which is somewhat of a subtle flex if you ask me.
sign: leo sun, scorpio moon, pisces rising. cursed. i'm aware.
height: 5'1 and certainly done growing.
last thing i goggled: "succession of the president" (one of my friends and i were in a heated debate on who would be president if the pro tempore of the senate happens to bypass the presidency. i was right (so humble of me, i know) and it's the secretary of state if you were wondering).
song stuck in head: love of my life - harry styles
number of followers: 2,151 which amazes me that you all stick around for my bullshit?? on a real note, i'm so grateful for you all!
amount of sleep: 6 and a half hours... the life of an overwhelmed college student the week before finals 🤭
lucky number: hmm. not really a lucky number but just my favorite one to write?? i LOVE writing the number 8. i do the two circles on top of each other instead of that figure eight bullshit because it's way more satisfying.
dream job: i want to be a district attorney eventually, but right now my passions lie with the prosecution of special crimes as an assistant district attorney! i still have a year and a half left of undergrad, three years of law school, and at least four years of slop work with the DA before i can probably achieve that, but they don't call me bullheaded for nothing! have also dabbled in writing things under an anonymous pseudonym just for shits and gigs alongside this too.
wearing: a large sweatshirt with a student org on it that i'm certainly not in, but stole from my student org's closet because it hadn't been claimed yet, black nike running shorts i've had since my freshman year of high school (because i go to an SEC school and the american south is fucking 68 degrees fahrenheit right now), and some white running shoes. not the most stylish, but comfy i guess.
movie/book that summarizes you: i really relate to nadine in the edge of seventeen which isn't good at ALL but that damn scorpio moon in me sees so much of my own turmoil in her. i also relate to a lot of the feelings in the angst that i write (published on here and still sitting in my google docs) because it's so hard to verbalize the overwhelming sadness and guilt i feel sometimes? idk. but on a much lighter note, the live-action cat in the hat (the terrifying one) and the movie surf's up with the penguins sculpted my childhood and my sense of humor so we're able to cope with humor! 🤪
favorite song: UGH i despise this question. absolutely hate it. i'll gi you a top three of all time from the past two years maybe? so in no particular order, pool by paramore (which is where the title of 'cause no one breaks my heart like you' came from lol), chit chat by beach weather, and perfect places by lorde! i have so many others and would LOVE to give y'all the link to my spotify if you wanna check some of them out! oddly specific named playlists are my niche attachment.
favorite instrument: i love the versatility of the piano, but i'm gonna have to go with the cello. the amount of times i've listened to bach's cello suite no. 1 in high school so i could be "deep and intellectual" is a testament to how far i'll go to force myself to like something. it would be borderline offensive to not put it in there.
aesthetic: i've been DYING to speak on this. i love love LOVE 70s vibes (the flare pants, denim/corduroy jumpsuits, velvet everything, conversation pits. you know. the works) and also love the kind of cool aunt who travels and no one really knows that much about her vibe? like dakota johnson but less of an industry baby? the aunt from the ramona books by beverly cleary kind of thing? it's really hard to explain but my pinterest encapsulates that perfectly. i swear!!!
favorite author: i LOVE maya angelou, sonia sanchez, amy tan, and a few others! i recently read yusef salaam's memoir and loved it! i also want to get more into poetry and other classics but just haven't really had much time to read much of anything other than school readings or proofreading my own works.
fun fact: okay so i have a literal dent in the middle of my head? like i've had it for as long as i can remember and when i was little, i used to fill it up with water in the shower. it's like my literal fun fact that i accidentally disclose whenever i've had a few tequila shots and am literally bouncing off the walls with half-written thoughts in my head. i’m kind of obnoxious, if you couldn’t tell 😵💫
tagging a couple of other people because this was actually so fun?? i hope you all enjoy this as much as i did!

On September 11, 1895, South Carolina officials met to rewrite the state constitution with the express purpose of disenfranchising the state’s African American voters and restoring white supremacy in all matters political. The convention’s most prominent figure was Benjamin Tillman, a senator and former governor nicknamed “Pitchfork Ben." A well-known orator, Tillman spoke at great length during the convention.
"[A]ll that is necessary to bring about chaos," he warned the convention delegates, "is for a sufficient number of white men, actuated by hate, or ambition, or from any unpatriotic motive, to climb up and cut it loose, mobilize and register the negroes, lead them and give them a free vote and fair count under manhood suffrage." He continued:
The poor, ignorant cotton field hand, who never reaped any advantage, nor saw anything except a pistol, blindly followed like sheep wherever their Black and white leaders told them to go, voted unanimously every time for the Republican ticket during that dark period, and these results were achieved solely and wholly by reason of the ballot being in the hands of such cattle. Is the danger gone? No. How did we recover our liberty? By fraud and violence...How did we bring it about? Every white man sunk his personal feelings and ambitions. The white people of the State, illustrating our glorious motto, "Ready with their lives and fortunes." came together as one. By fraud and violence, if you please, we threw it off. In 1878 we had to resort to more fraud and violence, and so again in 1880. Then the Registration Law and eight-box system was evolved from the superior intelligence of the white man to check and control this surging, muddy stream of ignorance...
The delegates followed Tillman's guidance and enacted a constitution that effectively disenfranchised Black residents, with little federal interference, for nearly 70 years. Today, a statue of Tillman stands in front of the South Carolina State House and his name adorns a number of buildings throughout the state—including the main building on the campus of Clemson University.

The Words Spoken, The Mind Healed- Dracula (1897)
Because we were left out of the evening of 25th of September
----
Mina Harker´s Journal
26th of September- Early morning. The clock had just stuck half past eight as Jonathan went out of doors to bring over the good professor from his hotel to breakfast at our place. Because I will have a few minutes before they arrive, I shall put down what went on yesterday evening, my head full of thoughts and impressions that are so convoluted and entangled, that it seems like I carrie the Gordian knot itself and desperately need Alexander's sword to make end of it. To think that all is true…
After professor Van Helsing left to read the manuscripts at his room in the hotel, I was left again with Mary alone in this big house and decided to finish bookkeeping that needed to be done, but had a hard time concentrating. Yet, I was thankful for the distraction, for while concentrating on figures and numbers my mind stayed clear for a while of other thoughts that might have distressed me if dwelled on too long without rest. After I was finished with the calculations of expanses for the next week it was time to think of supper. A letter came from Van Helsing that lifted a heavy weight from my mind yet brought dark dread upon me as well. Jonathan was sane, my dear beloved the brave man I always thought him to be- but his captor was then real as well, as were the other beings of his kind, and he in London. While I sat down to compose an answer, a telegram arrived just at that moment from Jonathan, telling he would be back with the last train at 10:15, so Mary and I agreed on the meal, which I was to have earlier and later on then only tea and some biscuits as to keep him company while he sups. Night came and the last rays of sunlight disappeared behind St. Peter, the hours passing by too slowly. By 10 o’clock I had abandoned both the novel I had attempted to read, the printed letters morphing into bats and beasts and wolfs, as well as the needle work that hanged limply in my hands, and so kept watching through the window for his form to arrive and bring me peace.
Finally the knock on the door and a moment later I there to open it. Seeing his face, if even in the dim light of the hallway lamp, made my heart easy and some tears of joy about to sprung, so I drew my arms around him in embrace last he should see them.
“I am so glad you are back home.”
“Me too. I missed you, even if it was only one day.”
“Did you have a pleasant journey? Wait, let me help you. Mary has left some cold lamb and vegetables so you can eat right away.” With his coat and hat sat off I began to hasten to make the dining room ready, but he insisted late supper in the kitchen would do just as well.
“You are too humble for a lawyer.” I told him while he took the first bite after having set up the table by himself, like if he were still a simple clerk and not the master of a nice house.
“You are right. From tomorrow on I´ll set up the household as that we should live like the Tsars in the Winter Palace.” I knew he was jesting and loved him the more for it.
While he ate I asked him more about how his trip to Launceston went and if his client was satisfied, and he told me as much of his work as he could, continuing later to describe the picturesque town and landscape he saw from the train.
“How was your day?” He asked.
“I had a visitor today. You know the gentleman that wrote me concerning Lucy’s passing? He was her doctor and is the mentor of one of Mr. Holmwood´s friends. Wishing to learn more about her illness he received permission to read her letters and diary, and so came upon my name and wanted to meet me as to ask about our stay in Whitby.”
“I'm sorry that you should have such a distracting visit, she was such a dear friend of yours.” He said and placed his hand on mine in a gesture of comfort. I went on-
“He also asked me about you.”
“About me?”
“Yes, in the letters to Lucy, and my diary kept in Whitby, there was much mention of you. He asked me about your business trip and your health, and feeling bold in his presence I gave him your journal to read. He says- he says its all true.” My voice went to a whisper at the last part and the words hung now in the air, silence following them. He moved his hand from mine, his eyes widening for a moment, before his look settles on his half empty plate and stays there, long heartbeats without movement.
“I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please don’t be angry with me! You gave me your journal to keep and I promised you, upon my soul, that I shall have it safe, to only read if duty commands it, and I have kept my promise, for when that episode caught hold of you in London it became necessary to learn the cause of it, the cause of it all to save you from further distress!”
“It is all true, so I am sane.” He whispers finally, and before I know what’s happening he has moved his chair to mine and taken hold of both my hands in his, bringing them to his lips and kissing feverishly.
“My Mina, my darling Mina, most beloved in the world! What a blessed husband I am in you! But you, you had read it all, and must know now that I would battle all these demons again, imaginary or real, just to make it to you. It pains me, pains me so that you had to witness that horrors even if only in writing, yet part of me is glad to have a confidante in your collected mind.” We kissed, and tears streamed down both our faces.
It was getting late so we decided to move upstairs to our room, leaving the kitchen for Mary to clean in the morning. It was simply by going through the motions that I dressed for the night, glad when finally under the covers and Jonathan sitting by my side. The bells were toiling midnight through the silence of the night as we both waited for our mouths to form a coherent word.
“Tell me.” I said at last, and so he did. It was only a shorter account of his journey and his stay at the Count's castle, but hearing it from his own lips made it even more horrifying. He would stop at times, as if battling with himself and his memory to distinguish what had really happened and what might have been imagined, at times worried he might shock me too much, but he did not need to say everything in order for me to understand.
“And when I thought it all had just been an awful dream brought upon me by fever, and sure I had passed the worst, I saw him there across the street, in London, walking among people like he were a man too. And while he didn’t see me, I could see his eyes, forever burned into my mind as their were, so blazing red, like- like…”
“Red like the blood red setting sun.” I said as a memory washed over me.
“How do you now?” He asked, noticing my expression change as frightful realisation finally settled upon me.
“Because he was there that night with Lucy.” I told him finally the whole story of my stay by the sea, and that awful night that I had found her lying on our bench up by the old churchyard. He listened patently as I told of all her instances of sleepwalking that followed, of her ebbing spirits and the rattle of wings at night at our window.
“What ever illness she acquired there, he must have brought it with him. To think her sweet nature in his presence…”
“It truly is an illness that consumes body and soul. Don’t cry my darling, for what ever misplaced guilt you may feel- yes, I say misplaced for I know you already blame yourself for not having protected her better- it matters little when he sets his mind, believe me, I know from being in his presence and in the one of these frightful women, although that word is unfit to describe them just a he is little a man himself. I know not what he is, or what they are, nor what any of it means, but if this professor Van Helsing has as much wisdom as you say- and he seems to know a deal more than us poor people from Exeter- he will bring light into this terrible darkness and peace to our minds. There may be yet a way to fight this evil, and I am ready to take up my sword like St. George did when facing the dragon.” His voice was even and strong, and I could see a change in him, his old strength of mind returned.
Full of gratitude for seeing him not doubting his mind anymore, I leaned closer and kissed him gently.
“What ever we will have to face, we'll face it together. “
